Fried Chicken Sandwich with curly fries

After a long 9.75hr drive, my wife and I were hungry for some tasty food, but didn't want to leave the resort. We stumbled across the High Note located within the Dollywood Heartsong Lodge and Resort and were not disappointed! We both ordered hot sandwiches from the menu and when they arrived we were shocked by the amount of food that we got. As seen in the pictures, the portions are massive! You definitely will not leave hungry. The late night staff serving us was so kind and had such Southern hospitality. We definitely recommend this restaurant to any travelers looking for a quick bite to eat.

A reminder of the days when men and women dressed with class and wore hats and coats to dinner.. Mills has this inherent 50s vibe, but the menu is quite up-to-date and everything is delicious. You can't go wrong with the burgers, I'm just telling you they've got something for everyone's taste. Even the sides don't disappoint, and the milkshakes are enough for two people, at least it was enough for the two of us. My engine rings were fantastic, breaded to perfection, and plenty of them came with my meal. Our waitress was tremendous also, quick drink refills, brought our food, hot, and prepared to give helpful and delicious recommendations from the menu. They do sell their merchandise at the checkout, but what do you expect, this is pigeon Forge for goodness sake! Everyone is Hawking their stuff . We are definitely planning on coming back and trying something different. Their menu is diverse and I think that we could come back for years and never have the same thing twice.

First time here, overall decent place. It's a good 1950s diner, typical of what you see normally…read more It was a happening place, all seats were filled, there was probably 60 guests there. The staff was running back and fourth, overall the wait time was not and at all. I had a chili, cheese, mushroom, back, burger, onion rings, and a root beer float. The service was decent, the food was ok, not greatest but not the best I've had either. I wouldn't mind returning and trying something else next time.

I found this place on Yelp. Thank you fellow Yelpers!…read more I ordered the Bayou Benedict. Tristan (my server) gave me this absolute fire recommendation!! kudos to him. He's been awesome this morning!! I'm only in town for a few days but I think I'll be back to the Brick & Spoon again!! The coffee, orange juice are very good.

It was 12:00 & dining room was mostly empty. The Benedict sauce tasted like melted margarine & was pretty thick too. One of my eggs was totally boiled, meaning no runny yellow. The other egg was just barely runny. The Canadian Bacon was NOT real. It was some sort of sliced & spiced luncheon meat that tasted horrible. I asked the waitress for some butter for my grits, and she said "more butter?", as if it was fine the way it came, and what is wrong with me:-( The shrimp on the Po Boy was NOT Blackened. No spices what-so-ever. The french fries that came with it, were the best part of that meal:-( Our waitress, Becca M, avoided eye contact with us the entire time we ate, and remember, the place was over half empty. Once we were finished eating, she came over, after waiving her down, and asked how our meal was. We reported to her the unsatisfactory meal but we ate it because we were on a quick break from work & needed to hurry. We did not have time for a 2nd breakfast to be cooked. She picked up the bill & asked us to wait a minute. She returned after a while & told us she removed the charges for the two iced teas! So, we paid $35. for two people to have a crummy meal while on a quick break from work. FINALLY - we are so sick of those horrible metal chairs in the dining room. They hurt most people's outer legs/hips & do not encourage a customer to relax & be comfortable. In the past, the food was so good, we would just over look the chairs, but after today's horrible food & the lack of anyone caring about our visit, we won't be using our hard earned money to eat crummy food & be uncomfortable. FYI: after removal of our iced tea, our meal was $29.90, we did include a $5.00 tip.

I had a mountain berry crepe along with pecan pancakes. FOUR BIG pancakes! The bacon was perfectly crispy too - the whole meal was just spot on. And then I looked again, hoping that maybe something low-calorie or nutrient-dense was hiding and I just needed to look harder. Nope. But if you're looking for a sandwich that consists of chicken tenders between two glazed donuts, then this is your place. Sawyer's has other things that are not so county-fair forward. They are known for breakfast: French toast, pancakes, omelettes. If you get pancakes or waffles or the like, you should definitely ask for their house-made peanut butter syrup. It's amazing and so unlike anything that I've ever tasted. I got an omelette, which was good and had a lot of stuff in it. They will give you hot sauce upon request, which I was grateful for because I thought the omelette needed it. One thing that's really cool about Sawyer's is that they seem to take food allergies very seriously. That's always nice to see! As you're entering or exiting, make sure to admire the decor. It looks like you're in a barn, and as you exit, there's a gift shop with stuffed animals, t-shirts and other things to commemorate your visit to Sawyer's. This is a fun little place that's great for families, for sure.
