Just returned home from my first ever visit to this place. Was in the neighborhood, saw it, and wanted a burrito. I'm vegan, so I ordered the Gourmet Veggie (vegan) burrito. Even referred to it as "vegan gourmet veggie burrito" when I ordered it. Got home, took a bite, and spit it out, threw it away. Had the definite (not so) subtle taste of fish. I know they serve fish on their menu, so somehow the flavor ended up in my burrito. With the $2+ dollar tip, I paid $15 for a burrito I couldn't eat. Come on, guys. This is food service 101. A vegan doesn't want the taste of fish in his burrito! Even if I wasn't vegan, and I ordered a pork burrito, I'd be burned if I tasted fish in my burrito. Also, I asked for the hot sauce (which is great, thus the 2 stars and not 1) in my burrito, and you said yes you could do this, and yet I received a side of hot sauce. Not a big deal, but little mistakes like this should be worked out. You need to do better. read more

Ordered taco salad with carnitas to go so I couldn't return it. The carnitas was obviously a day or two old, it was brown overcooked or recooked and dry, you couldn't chew it at all. Will never go or recommend this to anyone. read more

It's one of those place where you order at the counter. I made the mistake of giving a very generous tip. It doesn't matter. I order corn (not flour) tortilla. But I got the flour. I had to cater for my kiddos cheer team before a local football game, on a day where temps were near triple digits. How to fuel them "healthily" and give tasty options? I landed on a taco / burrito bowl bar - and it was a toss up between HTB and another local fresh-mex brand. HTB won me over with their service - I visited both stores to understand their catering packs better, and the manager at this location- Kevin- was informative AND willing to work with his customers. He made suggestions to adjust the catering to make it work for us. At pickup, the team again surprised and delighted. Manager on site knew exactly what I ordered, down to the custom adds. Orde was prepared right on time. I was also so pleasantly surprised with what the "burrito pack" included! It had alllllll the fixings and more. For protein, we chose steak and al pastor - the Al pastor has great flavor! Made catering for a team of teenagers with various tastes so easy. They loved it, and had fun making their own bowl or tacos. I loved working with a store that clearly believes in servicing and empowers their own teams to do so. Food is good and quality is great ( ONLY when they listen ) (Also funny thing is when I got home I already had a gut feeling they messed something up) I essentially orded a regular burrito and asked for rice and NO beans and they only give me BEANS!! (In the image below) I am paying 30$ for 2 burritos + extra for side salsa ( lol? ) for them to always mess it up!! Their consistency is always a hit or miss if they actually care to read your order I don't understand how hard it is to assemble a burrito where the order is right infront of you ! Always a good choice for a quick burrito or taco. The staff is nice, the restaurant is clean and simple. Lots of parking, and they've got decent hours. Call in ahead of time and make sure your stuff is ready when you show up! Try the nuclear hot salsa that is habanero. It's delicious if you can handle heat. read more

I have lived in Alamo for many years and have gone to the Alamo Plaza High Tech Burrito location for many years. I had loved their food until....yesterday. I ordered a breakfast burrito with bacon, potatoes and egg. I brought it home and started eating it. On the 3rd bite I bit into something hard but small and white. It was a hard piece of plastic the size of a candy sprinkle. I spit it out. I took another bite...samething. I opened the burrito and found a few more pieces. At this point I stopped eating it. I went back to the location and discreetly asked for the manager who right off the bat was just rude. In a lowered voice I told him what I had found in the burrito. He grabbed the burrito from me aggressively and started taking the burrito apart right there and declared he didnt see anything. He then, in a loud voice asked me what I wanted to do. He asked me if I wanted a new one or what while being very aggressive. I said I wanted a refund. Mind you I wanted to bring to his attention a problem that could hurt me or other customers. I wasnt trying to rip him off for $13.94. He obviously was taking offense that I was returning unacceptable food that was contaminated and hazardous. If I had paid in cash he would have thrown it at me. This man was inexplictly rude. Unfortunately I will not be going back to a restaurant I have been going to for years. I really try to support local businesses but this is now off my list. My next step is reporting them to the Contra Costa Health Department. Serving food with bits of platic is unacceptable. Avoid this restaurant for your own health. I wish I had caught the gentlemans name but this mans demeanor was rude aggressive and inappropriate and should be retrained or fired. I had the pleasure of trying High Tech Burrito at work on Wednesday 03/08/2023, which our NP recommended we have our rep bring. The menu had so many tasty options it took a while for me to decide what to get. I got the Thai peanut bowl with shrimp. Very tasty and healthy. The combination of Mexican with other cuisines is unique, not something I see often. Also love that they offer multiple seafood and plant based protein options. Sone options I hope to try next time are their sushi burritos, chilaquiles, butternut squash curry bowl, super taco salad, and their fish or shrimp tacos. I was on lunch break and decided to try out this place. They have some seating outside and some inside as well. All the employees had masks and gloves on. Their menu has nice pictures to show what to order. I decided to try the grilled chicken burrito bowl with mild salsa. I found it not bad, but not good either. It tasted just okay for me. There were a lot of black beans though in my bowl, but I actually liked black beans. I paid a little under $10 for this and to be honest, not sure if I would pay the same amount again for it. Overall, it's okay. There are no other Mexican food that is nearby for a quick bite to eat for me when on my 30. I guess if I have a craving, I could come back again. But for that price, I might end up ordering something cheaper. read more

Ingredients seem fresh and the taste is very much like Chipotle. Pricing too is Chipotle like, maybe slightly higher. The staff don't seem very friendly though as they very curtly answered "NO!" when I asked for my burrito to be cut into quarters. read more
