    Shrimp Louie Salad
    Nancy N.

Came here with my friend yesterday for lunch. I hadn't been here for over 5 years and heard there had been a change of ownership, so I decided to check it out! We seated ourselves outside in the courtyard since it was a nice day. I ordered the Asian Chicken Salad and my friend ordered the Shrimp Louie Salad. We also ordered a side order of fries to share. For drinks, I ordered iced tea. The food looked good and was a decent size. The prices were a bit high at $22 and $23 each. After tax and tip, it came out to be about $37 per person. Service was good except they got busy and we had to wait a little for our drink refills. Overall, it's a nice place to meet up for lunch or dinner. The menu looks about the same as before with the usual burgers, sandwiches and salads. I think I will try the sandwiches next time.

Went for brunch! Not bad, but nothing special. Glad to see and be served by Sandy! Will have to try lunch or dinner.

    My staff we were celebrating!

I've been going to this place for years and while not gourmet quality, it is a nice place to sit outside in the shade for lunch.

Amazing Restuarant!…read more Staff is super friendly. Yuli was my server and she was very helpful and accommodating to anything I asked. Everything we ordered was delicious. Whether it was sweet or savory, the item was full of flavor! The croque madame is definitely my favorite! Pair that with the sangria and that meal was hearty and filling. If you're in Alamo and want a bomb-a$$ breakfast! This is your stop!

To be fair, it has just changed ownership in the past couple of weeks. However, these new owners say they have had other restaurants. It doesn't feel like it. I've tried twice. Once for a lunch shrimp salad with dressing on the side and bread. Some of the chopped lettuce was brown around the edges. The dressing was not on the side but glopped allover the salad - way too much cheap bottled dressing. My bread came as almost toast about time for dessert. The service was sloooow and indifferent. The second time was today for a try at breakfast. The service was faster, but just as indifferent and careless. I did get to overhear the server go on at great length to her friend about her college(?) research project. I ordered scramble eggs with potatoes and toast. The extras in the scramble were good - bacon, tomatoes, spinach and cheese. The eggs were hard and brown. The hash browns started the day as a frozen slab of shredded potatoes that got fried to about 2 seconds short of burnt. The bill for this breakfast was $25.00 with coffee. (Yes. A little on the high side given the poor quality.) I initially tried to pay with cash - two $20.00's. The server said she couldn't make change. This is a half hour before lunch service started, when the cash register should be full and ready for business. Note: A regular server who provides terrific service was not working either of my two visits with the new management. That area could improve when she is there. Perhaps give this spot a miss, at least for a while - maybe until they get a handle on running a restaurant.

A friend of mine drove a few blocks down the road and found free street parking too. The place itself has multiple seating options. It has an outside patio, casual indoor and even bar seating and what looks like a nicer dining area for occasions and birthdays with very nice chandeliers and tables. We sat in the nice room for my friends bday. We were a group of 13 and our total was about $500 for brunch items, mímosas. They gave a bread pudding for the bday girl on the house. I felt like the prices are a bit high but that's a personal opinion. I got the frittata which tasted alright and it was $24. Service was decent but nothing too good or too bad that stood out from it either. If they have a happy hour, I'll come back again because the ambiance is very nice. I was told that my dish comes with a free side salad but i was later charged for a sad looking garden lettuce salad for $8. I still don't know what happened there. Maybe a miscommunication.

My hubby and I came here for a date night, and we had made a reservation over the phone a few days…read morebeforehand. We were told we'd be seated outside, which I said was fine. The back patio was nicely shaded, and although I thought it might be too warm, it actually ended up being very comfortable. One thing I wish restaurants had is a designated seating area for patrons with pets. I'm not an animal person, and I knew sitting outside came with the possibility of being around dogs, but of ALL the tables on the patio, a couple with a dog just happened to be seated right next to us. Our appetizer had not arrived yet, so I asked our waiter if we could be moved because I felt uncomfortable eating my meal next to an animal. I do believe he tried everything he could to accommodate us, and the manager tried as well, but apparently there wasn't another table available anywhere. We even asked if we could sit at the bar, but were told there was a long wait. I felt like an exception could have been made given the circumstances, but at that point, I decided to just make the best of the evening. As for the food, the calamari was very good. We also ordered the ribeye and spicy rigatoni. Unfortunately, the ribeye came out medium than the medium-rare we requested. Our server was quick to take it back after we pointed it out, which we appreciated, but it took another 20-30 minutes for the replacement steak to come out. In the meantime, my hubby and I were picking at the rigatoni because we had hoped to eat the steak and pasta together, you know, a protein and a carb! The replacement steak was better, although it still wasn't quite medium-rare. The steak was eventually comped, which we appreciated. Interestingly, it was actually the woman at the table next to us (on the other side) who pointed out to our waiter that we had been waiting a long time for the replacement and said that we shouldn't be charged for the steak. lol. I appreciated her speaking up for us, because I'm honestly not sure the steak would have been comped otherwise. To be fair, we were fully prepared to pay for the replacement steak. We weren't expecting a free meal and had every intention of paying for it, as my auntie Judge Judy would say, "You ate the steak!". So while we appreciated the gesture, we certainly weren't demanding it. We ended the evening with Joe's Warm Butter Cake, at our server's recommendation, and it was delicious. The portion was generous enough for the two of us to share. Our cocktails were also very good. I had the Strawberry Sour, and my hubby had Joe's Old Fashioned. Overall, we had a nice dinner out with my husband despite a few hiccups. The staff did make an effort to accommodate us, and I appreciated that. I would definitely come back, but next time I'll be requesting indoor seating. Now I know there's a chance of being seated next to an animal outside, and that's just not something I want to deal with during dinner.

The chicken sliders were good too, unexpectedly filling, while the chicken wings were unfortunately too salty to eat. Don't skip the green beans, they were delicious! We also had three different deserts and none of them disappointed (I do wish the lemon meringue had a regular pie or shortbread crusts). For drinks, my friend had a nonalcoholic cocktail that was delicious. A couple of us tried the guava cider--it wasn't my favorite, but it was light and refreshing on a hot day. Sandwich was kinda like a grilled chicken burger. The thicken breast was moist and fries were crispy and tasty. Chicken picatta was delicious and perfectly mixed with mashed potatoes, spinach, capers. The chicken wasn't dry. Pear martini was the best. I would come here just for this drink. I think they home make the syrup. Old fashioned was good but a little sweet.

A few years ago, we even had our wedding dinner here, and we've come back many, many times over the years. That's why it's honestly difficult for me to say this, but the food tonight was really disappointing and nowhere near the quality we've experienced here in the past. I had ordered the salmon here before, and it was genuinely one of the best salmon dishes I had ever had. So tonight, I ordered it again hoping to have the same experience. Unfortunately, it was completely different. It didn't have much flavor, and it wasn't cooked properly in the center. My husband ordered the Eggplant Parmesan, which was okay, so we ended up switching plates. Our server noticed and asked why we had switched. I was honest and told her that I didn't enjoy my dish. She was very kind, apologized, and offered to have something else made for me. I really appreciated that, but since we were hungry and didn't want to wait even longer for another dish, I decided not to order anything else. Unfortunately, this wasn't the first time we've noticed a change in the food. The last time we visited, I ordered the Chicken Piccata, and it was nothing like what I had enjoyed here in the past. At the time, I thought maybe it was just a one-time experience. But after tonight, I'm starting to feel that something has really changed, perhaps a change in management or the chef. It honestly makes me sad to write this because Piatti has been such a special place for my husband and me, and we have so many wonderful memories here. But after our last two experiences, I don't think we'll be coming back. I truly hope the quality returns to what it used to be, because it's such a shame to see a restaurant that once meant so much to us change this much.
