What a hidden gem! I've driven past this place so many times and never thought to check it out. Until...I saw a local FB post about their "pay it forward" board. Acts of kindness definitely speaks to me. Saturday morning the line was out the door which is a great sign. Fortunately, it gave me ample time to make a decision as the drink menu was too good to have to choose just one! I ordered chagachinno and snickerdoodle latte. Great little coffee shop to chill, eat, drink, and do some work! The staff were super friendly and nice and their little shop was cute and had local arts & crafts and some of their own coffee. They have a little parking lot and a few tables outside and a bunch inside. They have somewhat slow, but usable wifi, and a few plugs to get juice for phones or laptops. The pumpkin pop tar was super good and pumpkin-y and sweet and the pastry was flaky and moist. Felt like this place is totally overpriced! Definitely not worth it, wish I went to Starbucks! Got charged $5.50 for a small turmeric ginger oat milk, its too sweet for my liking. Ordered my husband an iced chagaccino, asked for light ice and noticed the small cup was filled with ice, so I mentioned again that I wanted light ice and the girl then removed a few of the ice cubes with her fingers, gross. I love a local coffee shop and have spent hundreds of dollars at this one. I don't live far from here and their coffee is good! Over the last year or so I have noticed the service getting slower and slower and it absolutely broke me this morning. Ordered a small latte at 9:02 am and it wasn't ready until 9:19. Staff was small talking and not moving quickly at all even though there were four of them behind the counter. There were three customers in front of me and if the employees noticed the need to speed it up it wouldn't have been such an issue. If you don't care and are fine to mill around then this place is nice, but if you have got things to do and want to grab a coffee in the am this is not the place to do it. For $7 for a small latte I would hope it would be ready in 5 minutes or less! read more

Great little coffee house! the outside is not nearly as cute as the inside so don't let the exterior fool you. I ordered a cappuccino with it lightly sweetened with some monk fruit mixture they had. My husband got the snickerdoodle latte and he loved it. my daughter loves hers and her friend also loves hers. We did not order food but the food looked great every time it came out the kitchen window. and i heard no complaints from the people eating it. What a super cute little find in San Clemente! We were on an adventurous walk around the area and literally stumbled upon High Tide. Besides the super cute set up (ordering outside because of the pandemic), what caught my eye was their adorable board of seasonal specials. All named adorably for the winter :) My husband ended up getting the mint mocha (it had a much cuter name), and I got a seasonal tea. Very tasty and warming on a cool December morning. I a five minute walk to High Tide Coffee and feel so grateful they opened in this part of San Clemente!!! The coffee is absolutely delicious! We came for the first time around thanksgiving so tried all their winter seasonal offerings (hot coffee) from Merry Mint Mocha, Ginger Spice Latte (extra delicious), Buddy the Elf (sweet and yum from the condensed milk) and The Grinch. We also ordered the Beet Avo Toast - the bread (from FKN) is super amazing and with that beet purée presentation is sublime! The Hummus Cucumber is also delicious, light and healthy! The service is what I appreciate most. Ruby helped us with the menu and made us feel so warm and welcomed on a cold morning! I've come back multiple times and have had the pleasure to meet Sophie as well. I ordered the birthday iced Latte with pea powder and it's absolutely gorgeous with the blue ombré. The Moon Coffee and Snickerdoodle latte are also another favorite! My mom tried the Rose Latte and it's very subtle, not your traditional Rose like from Philz Coffee. It's such a nice treat to come here each time to be greeted by such warm and lovely staff. They had a bunch of very cool hand made and sustainable merchandise which seemed locally made which I absolutely loved! However the customer service definitely could have been a lot better considering it was my first time and would've loved a more welcoming experience.. Went for a walk in this sleepy little seaside town. Just visiting for the weekend. A nice walk, the fresh air... and I stumble across this little gem. Its 730am, the lot is quiet and as I walk in, two employees great me with the friendliest of salutations. It becomes increasingly clear that they dont like working here, they love it. There is a sense of pride as the discuss the options on the menu. I ask why it's hot inside and am told they bake items fresh daily and I just missed them heading out to a local farmers market. In the case there is a nice variety of pastries... from vegan, to paleo, to a good old cinnamon roll that reminds you of home. While the espresso options are tempting, I really want a good cup of coffee to enjoy as I sit on the patio and watch the waves. The coffee did not disappoint. No bitterness, just the right temperature. Made to be enjoyed in its rich black state. no cream, no sugar. When my friends wake up we may head back for some pastries and another cup. read more

I enjoy smaller coffee joints where the owners really know their stuff. This is one of those places. High Tide has a very good San Clemente vibe. The people that work here are very cheerful, talk to the customers and they have a nice selection of vegan pastries. Not easy to find. High Tide coffee is not just amazingly flavored, but the location is beautiful and the staff were excellent! Let me preface by saying that my wife and I joke about her being a "coffee snob". She loves to find local coffee shops. Today, we decided to take a trip to the San Juan Capistrano Mission. While heading there, I looked for coffee here on Yelp. High Tide had great reviews and we just had to give it a try! They have outdoor seating which is excellent for a location so close to the ocean. As far as coffee goes, you can get traditional drinks you like, espresso, Americano, etc. However, they have specialty drinks that I recommend. My wife ordered the Rose Latte and loved it!
