Came with friends for a celebration dinner. We've eaten here many times previously and one of our most favorite things here are the crab cakes! Come for the crab cakes!!! I had ice tea and wife ordered the blood orange jenny drink; both were great and refreshing! I also ordered a loaf of their warmed sourdough and butter to share with the table. Almost like being in San Francisco! For dinner we decided to share a couple of things; the crab cakes, which comes with fried avocado and some of the best aioli for dipping. The cakes themselves are big and full of crab with just the right amount of filling to create a decadent and moist cake! We also shared the seared jumbo scallops...High Tides knows how to cook scallops to the best! So yummy and tender and perfectly cooked with that crispy outer and the soft, creamy inside. We also shared a Caesar salad and one of the things we love about this place...ask and you can get some fresh anchovy on the side to add to the salad. High Tide is a great place to venture to if you're a seafood lover, and all the more so if you enjoy a great happy hour! It had been quite some time since I had last been, and my most recent visit didn't disappoint. Every time I've ever been here, it's always been busy during the dinner rush, but service has always remained quick and attentive. It certainly isn't what I would call a "fine dining" experience, but it's upscale enough and has good enough food to feel like a meaningful night out with family, friends, or your partner. For an appetizer, we enjoyed their bread and butter, which was fantastic. The bread also came with olive oil and seasonings to dip it in, which was also very tasty. For dinner, I enjoyed their grilled cod with French and sweet potato fries, as well as coleslaw. While the fish was slightly overcooked, the meal overall was still delicious, filling , and well worth the trip back to High Tide. Definitely swing in if you've never been! read more

The clam chowder and lobster bisque is the best! I have traveled for work to various ocean side restaurants and the soups here are better! When they first opened, they used to put a fresh cooked clam on top of the soup. I miss that nice touch that really elevated the restaurant. We love the calamari and wings here and get it every time. Also, we tried the cheesy crab garlic bread and they were soo good if you are a fan of crab. You can't go wrong with the sandwiches here. Giving High Tide 4 stars for the total experience. I had had the Cioppino, which was loaded with flavor and plenty of sea food. I believe adding rice to this dish would've blown the doors of the place. Wifey had fish and chips, her feedback was the fish had too batter to really enjoy the dish. Hubby & I had dinner here again last night. We sat in the bar area again. It was very busy. Thus time service was slow. It took awhile for our server to come to the table. It took awhile to get our drinks & place our food order as well. We ordered the bread again. It was good. We also got the potstickers & a California roll. Hubby had the chicken wings & a side of fries. I had a bowl of the lobster bisque. The potstickers were good, but the sauce was not. It seemed to be just soy sauce with some sesame seeds in it. The soy sauce was extremely salty. The sauce needs to be good for potstickers for us. The California roll was okay. They were small & again the soy sauce was way too salty. I couldn't even eat it. The chicken wings were not what hubby expected. They were huge. They were crispy but tender. The sauce was not good & it was also runny. The fires were good. They were crispy. For $13 for a side of fries, they should be good. The lobster bisque was good as always, but it wasn't hot. We didn't see our server again after runners bro us are food until we were done eating. Who says you can't find good seafood in the valley? High Tide delivers every time! We visited for a friend's birthday and had reservations and our table was ready for us. Ambiance is sea themed without being over the top. Classy and understated. We ordered a few appetizers for the table: Lobster Mac & Cheese - order it! Crab Cake - order it! We also loved the fried avocado that is plated along side. Calamari - order it! I've been to High Tide a couple times before and love the Chilean Sea Bass, but the special got me hooked! It was Herb Crusted Atlantic Black Bass served with Crab Risotto, long steamed artichoke and lemon caper sauce. Y'all I was in HEAVEN. The fish was cooked perfectly and had a nice outside crunch with the nut coating. The crab risotto was amazing and all paired well with the lemon caper sauce. Definitely would recommend! Birthday dessert was their bread pudding. I'm not overly a bread pudding fan, but had a bite as it went around the table and it was really delicious! read more

We've eaten here several times after Saturday night church. The service is always really good. Most entrees we have tried have been very good. Today we tried the Baja Covina Sea Bass which was good but it was a little overcooked and a little sweeter than I expected. But, it's always fun to try new dishes. Don ordered the blackened redfish with garlic green beans and he switched out for the risotto. His meal was so flavorful without too much spice kick. We will both add this dish into the rotation. We've been a few times, and it's one of those places where, based on the prices, you expect the service and food to really deliver. Does it? Well... sort of. The pricing suggests white tablecloth service, but hey -- this is Arizona, and most places keep it pretty casual. That said, the service during our visit was just okay. It wasn't busy, so I expected a little more attentiveness and warmth from the staff. Not bad, but definitely room for improvement. The atmosphere grabs your attention at first with all the kettles and maritime touches, but it leans more old-school than modern. Personally, I think the ambiance could use a refresh -- something warmer, more inviting. As for the food: Shrimp cocktail and crab cakes were fine. Calamari was a letdown -- not your traditional style. Cioppino was decent, hearty enough. Seared ahi sandwich with fries hit the spot. Tide Roast was good. Fish and chips was probably the best value -- crispy batter, though I'd prefer larger pieces of fish. It seems like the kind of place folks reserve for special occasions, and I do like it overall -- but in my opinion, it falls just short of matching the premium price tag with a premium experience. The Chilean Sea Bass and Oysters were great! Scallops were only so-so, maybe slightly overcooked. Stick with traditional cocktails like a martini since we didn't love the Margaritas or Wicked Strawberry (too much juice). They have a good Happy Hour (Crabby Hour) which helped offset some pricey dishes. Desserts were good (bread pudding and creme brûlée). Overall pretty good for a seafood place in the desert. Aromas of ocean water and something wonderful cooking. Our entrees have always been more than enough for me with plenty to share. The Crab Garlic Cheese Bread isn't high on my list to order again. Not very cheesy, where's the crab, and how about a tad more marinara. I'd suggest you just go with the sourdough loaf instead. The lobster Mac and cheese was excellent, nice crust, delicious. The seafood pan roast was top notch, except it looked like the meat had been scooped from the lobster tail, and only 1/2 put back in. We enjoyed the rest of the pan roast, and it had a large lobster claw, but for $189, we were very disappointed in the amount of meat in the lobster tail. Second visit, we had the spicy seafood pasta, and the pan seared scallops. Both dishes were nicely presented, but both arrived at our table cold. We returned them to be reheated, and the management kindly comped us a dessert for our trouble, but that was two strikes in two visits. We'll go elsewhere next time. read more

This place is awesome! We opted to sit at the bar to watch them make all of the steam pots...and they made a lot! We went a little crazy and ordered 4 different entrees to try along with the clam chowder ( the lobster bisque looked amazing as well). We had a shrimp scampi steam pot, a double pork chop with a bourbon cherry mustard sauce, the buttermilk fried chicken,, and the seared ahi tuna. All were absolutely wonderful! Yesterday my husband and I were on a date and we were drawn into High Tide because of restaurant week, and I was craving seafood. It did not disappoint! In fact, it was beyond our expectations. Their 3-course dinner was amazing! I highly recommend their seafood pot pie! It was generously filled with tender shrimp, scallops, crawfish & crab with a rich, creamy flavorful sauce (or gravy) unlike any I've ever tried before. Oh and it was topped with the perfect, buttery & flaky crust! High kudos to their Chef! The desert was an orange blossom super delish too! We've been to High Tide many times, and the first few visits were great, but the last few just haven't been the same. Something feels like it might've changed maybe management, maybe the cooking staff I'm not sure, but the quality just isn't what it used to be. This time, I ordered the filet and it came out overcooked, and the risotto was super mushy. Even the steak knife was dull I couldn't cut the steak with it and ended up using the butter knife, which actually worked better. My boyfriend's food was good, and the service was great. The hostess was warm and welcoming, and the manager was nice and even gave us a free dessert, which I really appreciated. But for a bill that came out to around $225 for the two of us with only one glass of wine and two port dessert wines the meal just didn't match the price or the way it used to be. I left feeling disappointed, and honestly, it's put me off from wanting to go back. read more

We made reservation at 6:15 pm this Friday 5/8/26. We showed up at 6:15 and was told by the hostess that "we will have to wait because the customers like to extended their time". I told her that I don't understand why?! I asked for the manager and he told me that I have a choice if I want to wait and I told him if I have my table in 5-10 mins, I will be OK. Additionally, I told him as the restaurant owner they should never accept a reservation if they don't have a table available. Then, he proceeded to rush getting a table ready for us. Go figure!!! This is what's wrong with today hospitality industry. In the old day, the manager would've never been promoted to the manager position when you don't understand the first rule of hospitality industry, "you take a reservation, you honor the reservation!" They need to train their employees including the unprofessional manager better. You don't ever make your customers feel like second class. The better answer would've been "we're getting your table set up/ready and it will take a few minutes." The restaurant is quite large, and the bar area has all high top tables Our server was very helpful-- when we ordered the ceviche, she let us know that their ceviche is a little different from most, and offered to bring us a sample.
