Garlic Butter Shrimp Taco / Fried Cod Taco.
    Rashmi G.

My friend and I met for lunch at Hooked Seafood Grill on a Saturday afternoon. It wasn't too busy, so we were able to grab a table and order pretty quickly. They have a pretty basic menu, with some appetizers, and then all seafood options are available to be ordered as salads, tacos, sandwiches, and platters. My friend ordered the Garlic Butter Red Snapper sandwich and I got two tacos, one shrimp & one fried fish. We also got a side of fries (paid extra as there are no sides that come with the sandwich). My friend said her sandwich was pretty good, a bit messy to eat but had good flavors. That was the least expensive sandwich option, which was already a bit of a steep cost, the other were even more. If it came with fries or another side, it might have been a better deal. The additional side of fries we ordered were good though, nothing special, but nice and crispy as you'd want. While there was nothing inherently wrong with the tacos, it is interesting that all options have the same toppings (cabbage, tomatoes, onions, cheese, and white sauce); the protein is the only thing that's different. The fish was fried well and crispy, shrimp was pretty basic. There was a lot of cabbage and not enough sauce so I had asked for additional dressing on the side so I could basically eat the taco like a mini salad. The restaurant is nice and service was good while we were there. We had gotten soda and our server checked in on us multiple times to ensure we had everything we wanted. I'd order something else next time, like maybe the larger plate (with protein, rice, and salad) or just a traditional fish & chips basket that comes with coleslaw. Hoping for a better food experience in the future!

Their Taco Tuesday special is so good! Their fried fish is so light and flaky. The shrimp taco is my favorite with their chipotle cream sauce. We love this place! The staff is friendly & the food is delicious.

Stopped by Hooked Seafood Grill in Gilbert on a Friday night craving fish, and wow -- they absolutely delivered! Ordered the fish and chips and it was hands-down one of the best I've ever had. Perfectly golden, crispy batter that wasn't greasy at all, and the fish inside was flaky, moist, and cooked to absolute perfection. Huge portions too -- definitely shareable, but I didn't want to! Food came out fast even though the place was hopping, which I really appreciated. Our server was super friendly, checked on us just the right amount, and had great recommendations. Loved the vibe inside -- nautical but modern, chill music, clean, and comfortable. Felt like a coastal seafood spot dropped right in the desert. Everything tasted fresh, prices were fair for the quality and portion size, and we left stuffed and happy. Already planning my next visit -- the grilled fish and shrimp skewers are calling my name! If you're in Gilbert and love seafood, do yourself a favor and get Hooked. You won't regret it!

Was running errands and decided to check Yelp and see where I might like to have lunch. I saw this restaurant that I had not been to before that I believe has been open for almost a year now from what I've read. I was greeted immediately upon walking through the door. The restaurant was very clean and inviting. After perusing the Menu of many choices of different types of seafood, I decided to have a fish sandwich as I hadn't had one in a really long time. It was good! The only thing I didn't necessarily love was the provolone cheese, which I'm not used to having on a fish sandwich. The sandwich also didn't have lettuce or tomato, but as I looked back at the menu, it didn't say it would have those things so that's on me. The plastic silverware was also a little bit odd because they have an extensive menu of seafood items which some of it I would think would be weird to eat with plastic-ware. I had excellent service from Nicole who was super nice and extremely efficient ! I would like to try a few other things on the menu so I'm certain I'll be back and I'll make sure to read the menu a little bit closer next time.

We just noticed this place randomly and were in the mood for fish and chips so came to check it out! We went on a weekday so there wasn't anyone dining there at the time we went and we only had to wait less than 5 min to get our food but it was delicious! The fish was crispy but soft on the inside and well seasoned. The fish tacos were huge and as someone who can eat a lot, the 2 fish tacos were enough to fill me up. The venue was clean and ambiance was casual. Definitely would recommend for a regular weekday lunch or dinner!

Friday all you can eat fish and chips so delicious: and don't forget the clam Chowder... an absolute must

Saw this place talked about on tiktok, so we thought we'd give it a go. I was really looking forward to their fish and chips, it was subpar at best. I felt like they could have made a better tartar sauce, it tasted like it was out of a bottle. But I did end up using our left over Chipotle sauce from our calamari and that tasted better with it. My spouse ordered a fish sandwich that was cooked in butter. I tried a bite, there was no flavor and barely any butter taste to it either. The fish seemed a bit over cooked too. It was pretty sad experience for us, we had higher hopes. But I will say their calamari was pretty good though. Service was okay, wasn't super attentive, and felt a bit rushed.

We recently tried Hooked for dinner and it was excellent. They have a menu that isn't too complicated but has a number of different seafood options such as sandwiches, tacos, and platters. The decor is modern and they have a number of televisions on with games, which was great for a football Saturday. They do have beer and a few appetizers, however I recommend the fish tacos. The portions were on the larger size and prices were very reasonable. The server was nice and I probably burned through about four sodas because of the heat earlier in the day. I am happy this place opened because its hard to find a good fish place that tastes great and doesn't break the bank.

I Have been wanting to try this place for several months as I saw it on Instagram so I was in the area and decided to finally try it and it was everything I thought it was and then some. Fish was very fresh. The cocktail sauce and tartar sauce was made From scratch and was delicious. The snapper and garlic butter dish was amazing. Service was amazing atmosphere here was very nice and contemporary and upbeat. Nothing about my visit was disappointing and I will be a regular! A friend told me about this place when they first opened but as I am rarely ever in the area, I hadn't had the opportunity to try it out until recently. After looking over the menu, we ordered fried shrimp to start with. The shrimp was battered to perfection and not overcooked. The cocktail sauce was also one of the better ones I've had in a while. For our main entrees, we ordered the cold lobster roll that came with a side of fries and a red snapper sandwich. Both the red snapper sandwich and the cold lobster roll were standard, nothing remarkable about either to set them apart. The fries that came on the side were the kind I enjoy. However, they could have used more seasoning. Overall, service was attentive, but we did feel rushed while eating. The ambiance was casual and decorated accordingly to match the theme of a seafood place. Unfortunately, the prices of some of the dishes did not match the quality of the food that was served.

We dined here for date night after they had been open for three weeks. The place was packed but we were seated after about 15 minutes. Our waitress, Kaylah, was friendly and welcoming. We ordered the ceviche, garlic red snapper tacos, and lobster tacos. The flavors were delicious and portion sizes were robust. They are experiencing the growing pains of any new restaurant (e.g. they were out of crab and ice; some of the chips were flimsy not crisp). However, I believe they will get the kinks worked out. We had a positive experience and will be back.

Hooked Seafood just opened in our area and we decided to try it out for lunch yesterday. It's very rare for this area to get a new restaurant that's actually decent, especially a seafood restaurant, and we already have High Tide in the area which is pretty good and sets a high standard. Our server was Aleia, who was friendly. However, everyone seemed quite rushed and overwhelmed, so maybe they're still working out the kinks here, not too sure. The atmosphere was well-decorated and casual, but was kind of confusing. You order at the counter for to-go but get waited on if you sit down at the booths. The food was... mediocre at best. The Grilled Shrimp Skewers were decent, but the cocktail sauce was not desirable. It was chunky like Marinara Sauce. The entrees were also nothing spectacular. The fish didn't taste very fresh, and our dishes took forever to come out. I'm glad we gave them a chance but I don't think we'll be coming back anytime soon. Everything was underwhelming, especially the food.

But to put this receipt on your table for us to see is beyond cringe, and on top of it their servers will pick it up and ask if I've been there before. 50 times I'm guessing we've visited in the last year or so. Countless reservations under my name and other friends and bar visits for happy hour. Today was my wife's 38th birthday and we came to Buck and rider to enjoy it with our three boys. For the first time in our couple years coming they id'd my wife for her drink she ordered. She didn't bring her ID. The server got the gm and she denied us even seeing our history of how many times we've frequented the establishment. She didn't care that it was her bday or that we had a picture of her ID she was cold, dismissive and short. Nothing you expect of a place that should welcome us with open arms, remember us and make our experiences there memorable. It's a judgement call for them. Deny our best customers who dine here twice a month or more, who have three boys and take her ID picture or lose a good customer. Common sense and standard judgement have been completely lost

We stopped in on a Monday evening and had the whole vibe almost to ourselves--such a shame because this spot is seriously awesome and deserves a full house! The atmosphere is so vibey--warm, inviting, perfectly lit with that perfect mix of casual and upscale that makes you want to settle in and stay awhile. It feels special without being stuffy, great for date nights, family dinners, or just unwinding with friends over craft beers (their selection is impressive--40+ local options with plenty on tap). But the real star? The food. Everything is scratch-made with fresh, high-quality ingredients, and you can taste the care in every bite. Deeply flavorful, innovative twists on classics, generous portions, and consistently excellent. Whether you go for the Nashville hot chicken and waffles, fish & chips, burgers, or whatever catches your eye, it's all done right. No frozen junk here--just real, delicious food that keeps you coming back. Queen Creek (and the East Valley) needs more places like this. Support local, support quality, and help keep this gem thriving so it doesn't disappear. We'll definitely be back--next time on a busier night so more people can discover it!
