Service here was great and each of us had an excellent white wine based off our server's recommendations from what we told her we liked. Decor and ambience is unique for the area and very pleasant. The croquettes were superb and a good size for the price. The only mar on this experience was the portion size and taste of the papperdelle pasta. For something with house made sausage and sundried tomatoes, the flavor was very lacking. Overall, would come here again for the wine. read more

I want to love this place, it's next to my house and has a solid wine selection, but....the service. Every time I have been in there the staff would rather chat with each other than help take your order. I like a wine bar where they offer options when the wine you choose is sold out and where you don't have to flag down someone for a glass of water. The popcorn is delicious, but tonight it was stale and chewy, at $4 a tiny bowl I expect better. Such potential, but they still have some work to do to be my go to wine bar. read more

Stopped in here after dinner. They have a nice upscale ambiance with speedy and expert wine service. They have a large wine selection, modest beer selection, and unexpectedly sake, and sherry sections. The servers, who i believe are wine experts offer tastings of every wine before you order the full glass. Although there is no formal tasting menu were told they would do "half pours" if we wanted more variety. I will definitely be back here when I'm in the mood for wine. read more

Stopped by after dinner to have a drink or two but ended up staying late because I was enjoying each and every glass of wine they have to offer. The wine selection is uncommon which I appreciated so I could try different varietals. It makes sense since the place is owned by a couple of sommeliers. John is an exceptional host and openly shares his honest wine experiences. I was full from dinner but had to try their popcorn with porcini butter. Let's just say I didn't have only one bowl. The food looked and smelled delicious especially the fried chicken sliders, a must order on my next visit. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Popped in here for lunch on a Saturday on a bit of a whim. Food was fabulously fresh and the Brussel sprouts with cider glaze were excellent. I was pretty disappointed. The deviled eggs were moderately good and the charcuterie/cheese was good, but they forgot both until we asked about both. As an apology we got some extra crostinis; pretty lame. This place wasn't terrible, just doesn't deserve its current 4 1/2 stars. Nothing special about it read more

Hip hop records meets modern art meets unique and delicious wines (and beers). I've been here many times and have never drank the same wine twice. They are always changing up their wine list and I have enjoyed each glass from the various parts of the world. There is a drink for everyone here. There is also a coziness about this place.. not sure if it's the music, the people & service, or the location. Only downside is they close at 11pm but they stayed open for us when we walked in after closing time :) read more

I really wanted to like this place! Have been planning on trying it as it's a neighborhood spot and seemed like a great addition to the plethora of restaurants and bars on clement. I thought the space was lovely: really high ceilings to make the space feel airy and the long entrance from the doorway to the bar was very open. My 2 stars is for the service: my friend had gotten there 5 minutes before me and got a table close to the bar. I arrived and had to wait 10 minutes before flagging down a server about wanting to try a taste of the wine before ordering a glass. At first I wasn't sure if we had to go to the bar to order but it definitely was table service. He forgot about us (another 10 mins) and we ended up having to flag down ANOTHER server who finally got my order. He apologized for the lack of service and said that for 3 servers, it's no excuse. (Thank you, I appreciated that). He started pouring a full glass without me tasting and honestly, by that point, I had been waiting 20+ mins for a glass of wine that it didn't matter what I ordered. After we got the wine, I wanted to order food and couldn't get anyone to take my order. It was only after my friend flagged down the bus boy did we get our order in. I ordered the duck fries and it came out but much gastronomically "savvy" than I imagined. It was tiny, tiny slivers, smaller than shoestring fries. They also didn't have ketchup-fine, not a big deal. I wanted to stay for another glass but was so put off by the service that we got the bill and left. I was bummed about the service and experience as others had spoken so highly of it. I'll aim to try it again and hope that the 3 servers there were just having a bad night. read more

What a treat! We came here to try the food and wine, and see my friend Bob the chef. I have to say, Bob has always made great food for his friends when they come over but this was the first time I have ever eaten at one of his restaurants (yes I am a bad friend :( I must say, l was blown away!! I had no idea he could cook like this. Either he was holding out on us this hold time, or his skills blew up exponentially since I last ate over his house. Haha! Everything was so delicious and there were many wine and beer pairing possibilities with the food. We had the Cajun fried chicken sliders on a brioche bun, with a fort point saison beer for me and Schneider Pinot noir wine for my wife. The chicken was so crispy and juicy, seasoned perfectly and came together so well with the house coleslaw and creamy Cajun sauce. We also had the best bruschetta I've ever had in my life! Kale pesto base, portobello mushroom and candied walnuts - amazing I must say. Then, the ham and manchego cheese croquettes were off the hook and so was the sugar snap peas with ricotta, mushrooms and mint. The ambiance is really cool, high ceilings and openness is nice. Been here twice and not a fan. This is a somm's bar and hopefully you know one of them. In fact, I saw one of them from the Netflix documentary this evening. While the list by the glass is impressive, not all the wines are very good, especially at their price point of $16-25 a glass. Service is curmudgeonly and cold (too busy flipping vinyl to side B) if you're not sitting at the bar and the staff asks no questions about the list vs. customer preferences... do you like fruit forward, dry, off dry, acid, spice, etc. None of that. I know my wine, but I'm not a somm and dont know all of your list. Bring your wine app and stretch your thumbs for multiple searches if you do stop by. I don't think they'll be around in a year. read more

One of my girlfriends recommended this .. because we have same taste in wine. I dragged a wine connoisseur friend of mine to try this place out. Their cheese and charcuterie board and croquettes were delish! We both tried the coconut panna cotta and chocolate pot de crepe .. and my oh my were they amazing. I loved the Raventos i Blanc "de nit" Cava Rosé, Knauss and Trollinger Wurtemberg Germany Rose wine, which has been added to my list offave rose wine! My friend tried a variety of wine ranging from sparkling to red to white, but their favorite were Bibi Graetz "Casamatta Bianco", Chauteau Respide-Medeville, Valgella, Rossodiverzella, and Trois Cepages. I've been here twice in the late afternoon, and both times I've had great wines and attentive service. The space is bright, spare and cheerful. There is at least one sommelier on the premises, and she's extremely helpful and knowledgeable. What a wonderful little wine bar! The wine list had a fantastic, unique selection of various wines ranging in price points. The staff were very knowledgeable about each wine and service was spot on.
