    Unco Frank's pupu platter

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Fun wine bar in the area![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I stopped by on a Saturday around 7 with a friend and there was still plenty of seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service can be a little slow because the employees behind the bar are also taking your order at your seat. My friend and I got the Unco Frank's pupu platter and definitely was enough for a full meal for us two. My friend is from Hawaii and gave it her stamp of approval. I don't know wine that well so can't comment on the selection but I enjoyed what I have. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They open their front window when the weather is nice which was perfect for a nice sf day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Pupu platter hit the spot it was the perfect amount of food for 2 people. Totally forgot what wine I got but both glasses I got were delicious. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Perfect little spot for a date I even brought a card game I was really impressed with high treason I will definitely be coming back.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Great quality wine, fun Hawaiian food, chill beats all the time, what's not to love?! This is my go to wine bar. Hands down. Not only is it local, but it just feels like a wine adventure every time I drop in. Ask to try the wines first before you get a glass, and the servers are always extremely knowledgeable about their wines. But this time, we needed a snack. Fried food and wine are my favorite pairings! We had the shrimp and the fish sandos. Everything was fried to perfection and the consistency was exactly what I wanted. Try it out for yourself!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]High Treason is a high end bar in looks and price.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's cute and the wine is really good, but I couldn't figure out how to order. It had table service, but only one person working so I saw a few people ordering at the bar, but tried to do that and got a weird look. I hope, for their sake, they hire more staff because this space has a lot of potential.

makgeoli - korean rice beer, delicious

High Treason introduced me to a new drink and a new phrase, and I can't say that happens to me every day. The knowledgeable and chill bartender told me all the kombucha had been '86ed' due to a bad batch, and then I found korean rice beer on the menu. When have the koreans ever gone wrong with rice, I thought, as I started dreaming of that delicious charred rice you find at the bottom of bbq bowls. Anyway so I was a little bummed when she brought out a can and started pouring it into a glass (idk why I was expecting this to be brewed in-house like some fancy sake or soju brewery but cans never promote much confidence ya know?). I needn't have worried, it was 170 calories of deliciousness in the fancy glass I usually associate with sours. It wasn't overly sweet, and I could taste the rice. It reminded me of amazake a little. The can was only like $7 which for SF is quite cheap too. Gonna need a 6 pack of those.

I can just tell you right now, everything here is good. The wine, the food the service, all of it! It is a little small, so not ideal for big groups. But we made it work with 6 of us! Every food item we tried was great. We also enjoyed every wine, from the very curated wine list. I would particularly recommend the loaded fries and the Pupu Platter.

This little gem in the inner Richmond area was awesome. A unique wine tasting vibe add they played vinyl and served Hawaiian food (Unco Franko). They serve a wide variety of wine and the hostess was super sweet and shared her growing knowledge (she admitted she was still learning a lot). We came to taste natural wines and they did not disappoint!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Such a cute wine bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Absolutely had an amazing time![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff were super friendly and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the ambiance was really nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Delicious wine and food pairing too!

High Treason is a nice wine bar with a great selections of wine, a few tap beers, music, and currently partnering up with Unco Frank serving Hawaiian food. Previously (during the lockdown period of the pandemic) we tried their empanadas and scones. Those were a bit of hit and miss as sometimes they were good, but sometimes not so much.

The wine list is impressive, however, they are notoriously skimpy on their pours. Time and again I leave asking where my $60 went.

I called a couple of hours beforehand and made a same day reservation for three at 8 p.m. I was amazed they could get us in. The guy who answered the phone was so nice. We arrived right at 8 and were seated on the back patio. Our server took a little while to greet us, but by about 8:15 she showed up and we immediately ordered our salad and entrees. The heirloom tomato salad came out around 8:30 and was great in concept, though a few more pieces of cheese would have made a big difference. Our entrees, two salmon dishes and a medium-rare steak, came out around 9 p.m. We had waited a little too long, especially since the restaurant was not very full at that point. My steak was overdone, so as politely as possible, I sent it back. The server said it wouldn't take long, so I assumed 15 minutes at most. By 9:20, the steak still had not arrived and my family had finished eating. The server came by and said it would be out in another couple of minutes. Another 10 minutes passed, and there was still no steak and no sign of the server. At 9:30, I was so frustrated that I got up to cancel it. I found the server standing near the kitchen talking with other servers, while my steak was just sitting there in the service window. I'm sorry, but I did not come to a restaurant at 8 p.m. to eat my entree at 9:30 or later, after everyone else had already finished. What made it worse was that the server was not apologetic at all. We also ran out of water multiple times throughout the evening. Overall, it felt like the staff, other than the host, just didn't care. Neither the kitchen nor the server. I don't know if it's the no-tip model, but it definitely felt like an authentic European zero-customer-service type of experience. I'm really disappointed, Zazie. I know you can do better.

Between the four of us, we ordered the bread/butter, ceviche, Dungeness crab garlic noodles, and the Wagyu dog to share. We also got a bottle of their Lambrusco.
