First time coming here saw a video on TikTok and it looked promising. When we arrived, staff was courteous and kind and seated us quickly. We ordered the braised beef bowl and the miso bowl as well as the lamb kebabs. The lamb kebabs could've used some more seasoning and I thought there'd be more for the price. The braised beef bowl was pretty good lacked a little bit of seasoning, but noodles were excellent. The miso bowl had meat that looked undercooked it was bright red, and it was kind of small. 20$ a bowl I thought there would be a little bit more broth. This is a very popular noodle spot in a busy strip mall. Interior is newly renovated and comfortably air conditioned so you can enjoy hot noodle soup even in 100 degree weather. Tastes like home!!! I'm from LA and whenever I am in Roseville area and crave food from home, Highland Noodles hits the spot. The general Tso chicken and the prawns were a favorite for protein. Dan Dan noodles were cooked to perfection and were flavored so well. We ended up getting extra noodles because it was so good. A staple that we get are the wonton pork dumplings. The skin is thin and the pork portions are huge. Everything we tried was declines. There is always a wait so while we've dined in before, we often get take out and it's still good right after. Ambiance is cute and reminds me of your standard Chinese restraint. The foods they have are also similar to Ding Tai Fung. Price wise, they are on the more premium side but not super bad. read more

I've been wanting to try this restaurant for awhile and when I had a chance to grab food to-go and eat it elsewhere, I chose Highland Noodles. I ordered the braised beef noodle soup over the phone and when I arrived, I received a text message that my order was ready. I paid, picked up, asked for utensils, and left. The restaurant was not super full, but there were people waiting for a table, even though there were some open tables. I ordered the regular, thin, circular noodles and they were a little harder than I like. The beef broth was okay, not super flavorful, but not bad. The beef was good, not super tender, but not too tough. The flavor of the beef was good. The bok choy was fine and the spicy sauce on the side was really good. The restaurant had a lot of dishes piled up in containers on carts near the bathroom so it was a little messy. Since I didn't dine-in, I can't comment on the table service, but the pick-up process was smooth. I was disappointed they didn't have the plastic Asian soup spoons because that would have been best while eating the soup noodles. My husband and I stumbled upon this place for lunch and I am so happy that we did! With how small the building is, I wasn't sure how the seating would look. But with the booths/tables, all being in rose, and the open kitchen, the restaurant felt much larger than it was. While the restaurant was fairly full, it was only about a five minute wait to get seated. Once we were seated and ordered it didn't take terribly long for our drinks and entrées to come out. The food was absolutely phenomenal. You get to choose the type of noodles for each dish, and everything comes out hot and fresh. Not a single Sysco product in sight! I got the braised beef soup. I will be having dreams about that broth. So flavorful, so satisfying. The noodles are soooo long it was a bit tricky to eat at first. Im sure there's a better technique than what I was doing. I also got the strawberry green tea which was DELICIOUS! The restaurant has plenty of seating, and there was no wait when I arrived, so I was seated right away. The staff were friendly and attentive the entire time. Sautéed Green Beans & Eggplant (4/5): A little sweeter than I was expecting. It was a bit too sweet for me to eat on its own, but I think it would pair really well with rice or as a side dish. It actually complemented the xiao long bao nicely by adding a touch of sweetness. Pork Xiao Long Bao (5/5): Super juicy and flavorful. The wrapper was cooked perfectly not too thick or tough. Definitely a must try! Chili Pork Wontons (3/5): They were pretty oily, and I didn't get much chili flavor. Not spicy at all, with a slightly creamy taste that I wasn't really a fan of. The bok choy soaked up a lot of the oil. I really wanted to like these more, but I wasn't a huge fan. Spicy Flat Noodles (3.5/5): The beef was incredibly tender. The noodles had a nice chewy texture, though they leaned a little firmer than I prefer. The flavor was pretty subtle, and I was hoping for more spice and seasoning. Highland Noodles has become one of my favorite restaurants in Roseville, so when I heard they added a lunch special, I couldn't wait to go back. First, let me warn you...come hungry! This lunch special is HUGE and an incredible value at $20.95. It includes your choice of one of five noodle dishes, a side of either two chicken wings or a lamb skewer, cucumber salad, and an iced tea. I honestly couldn't believe how much food they packed into one meal. I ordered the Braised Beef Noodle Soup and loved that you can choose your hand pulled noodle style. I picked the thin flat noodles, and while they're delicious, I don't recommend them for soup because they tend to clump together. Next time I'll definitely order the thin or medium thin noodles instead. Lesson learned! The flat noodles would probably be amazing in one of their stir-fried dishes. The chicken wings were plump, juicy, and flavorful. The cucumber salad was refreshing, but fair warning...it is LOADED with garlic. Delicious if you're a garlic lover...and you'll definitely be safe from vampires afterward! The sweet black iced tea was the perfect finish. It wasn't overly sweet and paired really well with the rich broth. Overall, this lunch special is a fantastic deal with generous portions and delicious food. We came here on June 12th around 1:15 p.m. when we arrived the restaurant was filled with a lot of patrons but there were still tables for walk-ins. We waited maybe 4 minutes before being seated. Since it was our first time there we decided to try to find something that would give us a little taste of everything and luckily we had made it in time to take advantage of the lunch special combo. The combo we chose was the one that had the noodle soup, a skewer, a cucumber salad, and a drink. I will also say that we really appreciated our server because we had pointed out that we wanted to dim sum and we had looked at one item and he asked us if we'd like spicy and we looked at him and both said yes. Hearing our answer he's like okay then you need to get the one with the chili oil because it's much more flavorful and it has just a slight heat that really enhances the components in the dim sum. I will say that we were extremely happy that we took his recommendation for that appetizer because it was superb. There was what we believe to be a version of hummus at the bottom of the noodles that you would mix into the chili sauce and then dip the dim sum itself into it and oh my goodness the creamy heat was just, wow. For the noodle soup itself the broth that each of them had was so warm and feeling and comforting and all the things you want to soup to be when you have it. And the flavor profiles were extremely different. The one that was with the spicy beef was more bright and had citrus notes based on the addition of the cilantro and the one that was the beef noodle soup the original once again just so savory and deep in flavor. We both got the lamb skewers and again packed with flavor. The most important thing that I will call out is that they were not dry. I say that because I've had them skewers a different places where they do have flavor but they're on the grill too long and they end up being dry where you need to put a lot of sauce in order to chew them and this was not the case. Super flavorful, grilled just right, and still packed plenty of moisture. And I just want to give the noodles themselves its own line. They were perfection. My friend and I got the noodles that were a little bit thicker because we enjoy that bite and I went a step further and got flat noodles because that's the style that I like. Stopped by this new noodle place in town. Contemporary decor and vast menu. They have a viewing window where you can watch the homeade noodles being made. Had the strawberry green tea lemonade which was very good and refreshing. Followed by the mapo tofu, xiao long bao, and garlic a choy. The mapo tofu was ok. It had good flavor but had a little too much corn starch in the sauce making it a little too thick. The soup dumplings wrapper was a little thick. However, when you ate the full dumpling it was full of flavor and the broth was excellent. The garlic a choy was crunchy and had a wonderful garlic flavor. Overall it was very good. Visited for my first time on 6/2/26, Highland Noodles was a great experience for Chinese cuisine -- I've only had their cucumber salad, lamb skewers, and noodles so I'm not too sure about the other dishes on the menu but we walked in around the late afternoon and got seated quickly. They give you your own water pitcher so you can serve yourself anytime. We were given a couple minutes to check out the menu before someone shortly checked in on us and took our order. The interior was quite modern, the lighting was warm and it makes for nice casual dining with friends or family. Our order came out after about 10-15 minutes and wow, the noodles were amazing. The noodles are freshly made and pulled and are given in great quantity and quality! The broth was warming and perfectly seasoned and there was an adequate amount of beef in my bowl-- I literally left feeling so stuffed ... The appetizers we order - the lamb skewers and cucumber salad were so good ! The skewers weren't overly gamey and slightly spicy and the cucumber salad was refreshing and had seasoning that made it addicted to keep eating it. I've heard about these hand pulled noodles for a long time and seen vids on YouTube of cooks tossing and stretching the dough up in the air, but I never got to come to a place that has them. No places like that where I live in the Northern Sacramento Valley, but I guess they're common in the Bay Area. So, I was excited to see there was this place, Highland Noodles, that feature all the hand pulled noodles and have a noodle chef that you can watch behind the glass. This restaurant is supposed to be super popular and packed a lot of the time, so I got here right when they opened. Inside is super modern look and clean. So modern, they expect you to use the QR code and use your smart phone to read and order from the menu. I asked for a printed menu, just easier to see the whole thing at once and see the pictures and compare dishes. Service was very friendly and all the servers spoke perfect English with no accents, so that made it easier, compared to some places. I wanted to try the hand pulled noodles, so I ordered the medium sized noodles with the Pork Sauce. ($16.99) That sounded more interesting and unique than just the common beef noodle soup. Also ordered the Chinese pork Hamburger. The picture looked interesting and that was something I never had before ($10.99). I also ordered the Pork Wonton with Chili. ($9.99) That's a lot for one person, but I'm here so I wanted to sample more stuff. I watch the guy pulling noodles and tossing them about. That was kind fun, I think he was used to customers watching through the glass. The food arrived quickly. The wontons in chili sauce wasn't as spicy as I thought, not too spicy at all. The wontons themselves I could tell were handmade and stuffed full and more firm than most wontons. I'd get the more spicy version next time. The Chinese pork Hamburger looked like a pita stuffed with ground pork stuffing, but it was I guess two round dough patties with stuffing in between and then sealed up and deep fried. It was good and tasty, but again thought I'd like it more spicy. There's chili oil at the table if you want. The "Pork Sauce" over noodles was something I never had before. Again I asked for a 2 star spice level, but I could have used more spice in it. It was tasty enough and had all kinds of spices and herbs in it. It was served with the pork sauce on top of the noodles. I was told to mix it all up, so I used chopsticks and a fork to toss the noodles. I didn't finish it all so took home about half and half the Chinese hamburger thingy. I liked this place, just wish it was closer to where I live. I was excited to try Highland Noodles based on their reviews and menu. They did not disappoint! I took my dad out for his birthday and we ordered a number of things to try. Everything was good but a couple of items stood out to us. The cucumber salad and cold wood ear fungus salads were so tasty. Great balance to the wontons in chili oil and the lamb skewers. 10/10 recommend these dishes! I ordered the Dan Dan noodles which was good, but I wish had more of the sauce. This was the same observation my sister had with her pork belly noodles. The noodles for both of our dishes were perfectly chewy and had a nice bite which we enjoyed. But the lack of sauce made them more dry than we would have liked. Next time I may order extra sauce to see if that helps. My dad ordered the mapo tofu rice bowl and he said it was great. He loves spice so it had a lot of heat which he enjoyed. The service was minimal but good. We ordered based on the menu you get from a QR code and our server was helpful in answering our questions and providing recommendations. The food came out quickly and hot! The parking lot can be tricky as it's a shared lot with a number of businesses. So plan accordingly. read more

I expected a wait in a place this good. I wouldn't be surprised if they will be on the Michelin guide soon. We came one Saturday lunch and there was a 45 minute wait. While waiting we were entertained by the live hand drawn noodle station. Once seated, their friendly server took our orders right away. Our appetizers were served in less than 5 minutes. The noodle soup took about 15 minutes to be served. Everything we ordered was yummy but for me, the star of our lunch was the porch dumplings in chili oil-the broth is creamy yet fresh and light. We came because we heard of their hand-pulled noodles but were impressed even before we sat down by how grand everything looked when you first walk in! This is place is date-worthy, with a beautiful design and good food to match. We tried a variety of dishes, including a bowl of extra broth with cilantro and onion plus hand-pulled noodles, green onion pancakes, chicken and corn dumplings and miso soup noodles. The noodles were fresh and the broth was tasty and the appetizers hit the spot. The miso soup noodles didn't have enough broth or flavor but everything else was solid. The service was awesome. Everyone from our server to the food runners were amazing and quick to get us whatever we needed. There's an area at the front of the restaurant where you can watch their noodles being freshly pulled, which was cool to watch. DELISH! No notes! Hahaha but this is a yelp review so there are gonna be notes! First off they have a online yelp waitlist which I highly recommend to join prior to arrival! Especially on the weekends because they do get busy. I join the waitlist 30 minutes prior to arrival while getting ready and didnt have to wait. The interior is decorated with clean and modern asthetics fused with asian culture which is always very nice. They have an open kitchen so you can see where the food is getting made and maybe if youre lucky you get to see the chef throwing down some noodles! You are allowed to customize your noodle type which is awesome so we got to try a couple different ones all of them were amazing. I thought Highland Noodles was excellent. I made a group reservation and my table was ready on time. Which is a good thing because there was a ton of people waiting in line on a Friday night. You can watch them make the dishes, including the hand-pulled noodles. I had the eggplant, green beans and the honey walnut shrimp, plus the delicious and dairy-free coconut matcha. My daughter enjoyed the beef noodle soup, and my husband got the mandarin chicken, which he also enjoyed. Food quality was high and quantity was generous. When you arrive, you'll see a description of each kind of noodle they can make for your dish. We ordered the beer burritos and dumplings for appetizers. I wasn't sure how I was going like the burritos, but they were actually really good. The dumplings were soft and juicy. We ordered Mongolian beef for our main dish. I'm not an onion person, and I forgot to tell them no onions, but they were easy to take out. This dish had a big portion and we had to take some home. We got that and a $16 "beef burrito" which is what they call the beef roll. When you arrive you can scan the QR code on the table and look at the menu from your phone. Very elegant interior. It was packed when we went and there was a wait but it wasn't too bad (near peak lunch hour on a Saturday). Ulysses was really friendly and answered our questions with smiles. Because it was so busy, service was slow but I never felt rushed or anything negative when he was assisting us. He picked up that I enjoy garlic and suggested the chili flakes noodle. He also offered extra garlic in my bowl which was a pleasant surprise. When my bowl came, I was shocked by how much garlic there was! I know it was extra but I was wowed by how much, and it was so fresh too. The noodles were cooked perfectly, and sauce flavor was good but felt like it missed something. I ended up having a lot of sauce and ground pork left over (+ garlic), so I got an order of extra noodles to-go. Even reheated, my leftovers were very enjoyable. This is a family style type restaurant so it's good if you can come with a group to try even more dishes! We arrived right when they opened at 4pm on a Sunday, and it was a good thing we did because the restaurant quickly filled up afterward. Overall I was just a little disappointed by the flavors overall. Most of the dishes were quite bland. The only memorable thing I had were the sweet rice cakes. Strangely they were the first thing that showed up before all the dishes so we ended up having these dessert items for an appetizer. I had the highest expectations for the noodles dishes. We tried the Mongolian beef and the orange chicken noodles. The beef had more flavor, but orange chicken was completely bland with not nearly enough sauce to cover the noodles. The noodles didn't have that thick hand pulled texture I was expecting, and it was closer to a linguine shape. It seemed pricey too, for example the XLB and the siumai only came in a set of 4 and they were already $9.99 each. Typically the XLB is one of my main indicators on these types of restaurants and unfortunately it was a letdown here - the outer dumpling skin was just too thick. I'd probably only come back here if I was invited but otherwise I would not go out of my way to come back. read more

I've been to Highland Noodles multiple times but I think I will think twice before coming back in the future. Their handmade noodles are amazing and the main reason to come. Broths are flavorful and perfect. But their meat is incredibly inconsistent. It sits in their hot soup and continues to be boiled eventually leading to a chewy texture. With the prices they charge, I'd expect consistency each time. They need to pull all the meat out once it reaches a point where it will overcook. Then gently warm it up before serving. Beef is expensive and it shouldn't be wasted like this. Where one bowl has tender meat and another has overcooked meat. I hope they take this feedback into consideration. There is no other place like this and I would love to keep coming back. Service is great! But food is the most important thing for me personally. read more

An unplanned lunch at this popular noodle shop was pleasant but not stellar. The restaurant is lovely on the inside, but cleanliness lacked with dust and splatters (probably from patrons slurping noodles) on the booths and divider between sections. The condiment containers on our table and those close by were in desperate need of a wipe down and refill. It was gross to have to dodge the mess. The staff was friendly and efficient, but I personally dislike the QR code menu. It makes it feel far less special- like ordering DoorDash. Plus, dining out is often great way to get away from our phones. We ordered simply since it was our first visit- cucumber salad and vegetable chow mein. Both were good sized portions for the price. The cucumber salad was phenomenal- crave worthy. The chow mein noodles were well textured, but lacked a bit of flavor. This was helped by adding some of the aforementioned condiments. I was doing some shopping at the Galleria and almost just popped into Panda Express as I was craving for some sweet orange chicken, but then I thought I wanted something a little higher quality and I remembered about the hand,-pulled Noodles at Highland Noodles being in the area. I pulled up the venue and lo and behold. They had sweet-and-sour chicken/orange chicken and sweet sesame chicken. I drove across the street from the mall and was lucky enough to get in without a wait. I knew I wanted to try the flat wide Noodles and they were more than happy to give any type of noodles with any stirfry or any soup. The waitress highly recommended that I had the sweet-and-sour fish, but I wasn't up for fish so I got the sweet-and-sour chicken. It was delicious little heavy on the bread but that's OK because the sauce was perfect and the noodles were to die for. There was a lunch special also that I often not to get cause. I just wasn't thinking that I would be able to eat that much food. And I was right the plain needle dish with out on the sides was twice as much food as I could eat. The noodles are hearty and delicious. I highly recommend trying anything you like on the Noodles. The Resturant is night clean and modern . There is ordering via QR code on the table however the great wait staff will offer to explain the menu items to you. Your table setting comes with chopsticks and your meal usually comes with fork for serving and spoons for soup. You can also request scissors to cut the noodles that are very long, but there's a tradition of keeping your Noodles uncut in many Asian countries so for long life so I passed on scissors. The online menu has photos of every dish, including all of the Dim Sum. I believe the photo I took of my white Noodles with sweet-and-sour looks way more appetizing than the noodle sweet-and-sour dish they have on the menu. "Noodles" is definitely a highlight, as the name emphasizes it, at this restaurant! Parking gets crowded, so good luck with that - otherwise the service, staff promptness, food, and ambience are all wonderful with top scores across the board. Best Advice? Join the Yelp waitlist ahead of time so you can be seated as soon as you arrive (and on time). As of 4/4/26, wait list worked nicely on Yelp but you know how it goes - things change and suddenly it's turned off thus having to just go in person. Our top favorite - Dan Dan Noodle with thin noodles (spicy)!! Waiter recommended it and he sure didn't disappoint! As soon as you hit that first bite, you already know how lucky you are to experience the taste of this delicacy. This is one of those dishes for us. Jackpot, bullseye, whatever you wanna call it. I'd highly recommended trying this one. Taste is very flavorful with just the right amount of spice. My other favorite, as an eggplant lover, is Stir fried green beans with eggplant. Powerful flavor woth every bite! Need more spice? Grab a spoonful of spice already available at the table. Other goodies that were great but I wouldn't say spectacular (came out as expected, didn't launch us to Mars and back) - Pork Xiao Long Bao (4 pcs), Garlic a choy (wife liked it, I didn't care much), fried rice with shrimp, and Chinese beef burrito (yummy for sure but didn't knock my socks off). Thai iced tea? Meh - good but not great. That's okay, we expected a lot out of the noodles and that's precisely what we got. For the noodles and eggplant, this joint is now one of our golden chains in Roseville. As for the fried rice, soup dumplings, etc. we'll stick to other spots (to be brutally honest). Finally was able to try this location. The first time I tried to eat there, the wait was over 2 hrs long. Most of their seating is for parties of 2-4. The menu is a QR code you pull up through your phone. It would be better if you can order through it was well because it was hard to go back and remember what items I wanted to order. Also, I wish the menu had better descriptions of the items. I wanted to avoid anything with cumin in it lol. Our waiter was nice enough to help check if certain items had cumin in it or not. The hand pulled flat noodles were great. Loved how they're al dente and have a good chewiness to them. Other than the hand pulled noodles, the times we tried were only ok. The tomato and egg noodle dish was good until it cooled now and it just tasted sweet. The scallion beef plate didn't look like the picture in the menu, thought it would have more green onions than white onions. The dish needed spice, but not cumin lol. What a great meal! We came here and tried a good portion of the menu. In addition to the photos we had the shrimp dumplings and pork bao. Favorite was the chow-mien and also the crab wontons. The ube matcha was very tasty and great for us to share. The spicy burger was next in line - a bit messy (good thing!) and super flavorful. Wasn't too spicy for me, but had a little heat. The dimsum was not our favorite, when we come back I'm going to try pot stickers. The general chicken was ok, we read reviews and that was a "crowd favorite" but it wasn't our favorite. The noodles were more spicy and sweet/sour flavor than savory. My wife and I both said we wished we ordered two plates of the chow mein, so we decided to order one more to go! Very classy vibe inside the restaurant and food came out pretty quickly (shrimp dumplings took longest, everything else was quick). We had a wait to get in, but they were truly packed so understandable. Highly recommend giving it a try - we will be back. WhOoOOoHooooo, this place serves up good quality food! I'm more of a Pho person versus ramen, but when it comes to this place it has won over my stomach. The noodles are so fresh and this is what makes all their dishes so much better than anywhere else. Next it's the broth, the broth is so rich and flavorful. For appetizer I would recommend the beef burrito, think French dip korean spring roll. SO.GOOD. Making me wish I had one right now. We visited Highland Noodles where the noodles are made fresh to order, and you can actually watch the cook making them. I ordered the braised beef noodle soup with the thin flat noodles, and the noodles were cooked perfectly al dente. I loved the thickness and texture. Because they are freshly made in a circular motion, the noodle is continuous with no clear beginning or end, which made it even more enjoyable. The broth had great flavor, and the portion was very generous. There was a good amount of noodles, beef, and vegetables in the bowl. The beef itself was very tender, though slightly on the dry side. We also ordered the spicy braised chicken with regular flat noodle dish, which came with a huge amount of chicken. The portion was so large it could easily feed three people. The dishes here are perfect for sharing so everyone at the table can sample different items. The restaurant has a nice, modern decor, and it's fun to watch the noodles being made fresh. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The menu is accessed by scanning a QR code on your phone. We arrived around 5:45 PM on a Saturday, and within about 20 minutes the restaurant already had a 15-20 minute wait, which says a lot about how popular it is. read more
