We have driven by many of times and finally stopped in. Once on a Friday evening and we had a drink at the bar. Our bartender, Alyssa, was friendly, helpful and so very patient with us as we took some time deciding on a drink. The restaurant is very spacious, clean and welcoming. On our most recent visit we had brunch on a Saturday and we were seated in a timely manor and greeted by Oscar. Oscar was busy with several tables to look after, but he still attended to us and made us feel like we were his only table. He was friendly, and helpful with our questions. We ordered the Philly Steak Sandwich and the Turkey Club Sandwich, both were delicious! Our food arrived quickly, tasted fresh and had plenty leftover. Parking is in the back, there are plenty of spaces but could definitely fill up during peak hours I'm sure. We highly recommend a stop here for any meal as the menu is extensive, has something for everyone and brunch is served until 2pm! Enjoy!

This cafe has everything you need to start your day. It is a great place to eat and take time to study or do some work. I always find that when wanting to escape the city, I drive a bit and come by. The place never disappoints.

Boiled flavorless chicken and iceberg lettuce no thanks

First time here. I ordered the Cobb salad. The chicken that came with it was plain boiled chicken. No flavor, cold, not appealing looking at all and bland tasting. I didn't eat it, I saved it to take home to my dog. That is a HUGE disappointment. The menus says mixed greens. But a majority of the salad was ice berg. That's deceiving. I would never of ordered this salad if it said ice burg on the menu. It feels like it's put in as filler. I've also never had a Cobb salad anywhere in my life that came with ice burg lettuce. The amount of bacon, blue cheese, and avocado was plentiful. The tomato's were ok, kind of hard and under ripe. The egg was fine, the dressing was good. For the price I would expect more. The service was ok. Our server brought our drinks and then took our order then never came back for a while to check on us once...he disappeared and eventually a new server came in. A bus boy with a white mask on was passing and my elderly mother politely tried to ask about a drink, the bus boy (older man) rudely and dismissively said it's coming it's coming to her... as he passed looking straight ahead. He clearly didn't give a care and was in a bad mood. She deserved more respect and kindness. The place is cold and weird energy. I wouldn't recommend or come back here. 2 stars because the second server who popped in to check on us and bring our check was nice, and I believe his name was Josue.

Not dog friendly. There is a sign that they clearly only allow service dogs. Despite their patio and being nearby hiking trails, they do not allow dogs on their premises unless they are service animals. That is understandable, but don't bother if you're looking for a spot to bring your doggo with you.

Big restaurant with plenty seating. Great service and breakfast. Banana nut pancakes - yum Bacon - crispy and good Scrambled eggs - perfectly scrambled French toast - he liked Chorizo and eggs - plentiful and good Great spot for after hiking!

It was our first time at this cafe. We were seated right away and the service was great. However, for the price point, I was underwhelmed with the visual and taste of the dishes we ordered (eggs benedict and egg whites& turkey).

The most disgusting bathroom I've ever been in. Reeked of piss and shitty napkins everywhere. I didn't even stay to eat. So gross.

I got the 5 HR set just so I can try out all my favorites 1. Negitoro - so good, not fishy at all, rice was nicely seasoned. 2. Blue crab - slightly too much mayo but otherwise pretty good, sweet and fresh 3. Yellowtail - there are some scallions in here as they should. Nothing to complain about, but the fish wasn't exactly top tier, just good. 4. Salmon - very slightly fishy likely not cured enough or at all? 5. Spicy salmon - the chili they use is quite strong in flavor so you couldn't taste the fish. Yama sushi still makes my all time favorite spicy tuna. I also got the yuzu miso salmon onigiri. Had the filling not been so salty, I would've complained that there was far too much rice. With that said, it was a delicious and balanced onigiri, but I personally would prefer more fish to rice ratio of course. You can taste that they use very good sea salt or at least it definitely wasn't basic table salt. The rice ball was very lightly packed, so it did start to fall apart as I ate. And I accidentally bite and ate a piece of the paper or was served on lol. Edamame tasted very plain with a lot of salt sprinkled on the top only. If you are sodium conscious, I guess this would be good as you can ask them to leave the salt off. However, I wish they boiled it in salted water so at least the flavor is penetrated into the pod. Pineapple yuzu lemonade - this was fine, not as refreshing as I was hoping it would be, but that's my own fault for setting expectations. It was slightly too sweet so we did water it down half way. All the men working there were amazing and would go above and beyond when serving and delivering your food. There was one older lady there I would consider to be more "lazy?" She would only go to the counter and call out the names. Even if you were seated against the wall where it was difficult to get out, she would not budge to deliver to your order too the table. The other two men on the other hand would deliver your order and hand you your meals directly if they noticed you in that situation. Also, maybe I'm just extra irked because she didn't give me utensils and I had always gotten back to my seat against the wall having to inconvenience several ppl having to get up out of their seats for me. The only other con here is the nori on the HR. I wished they would've roasted the seaweed so it's at least somewhat crispy when you bite into it. That would've knocked them out of the park!!! Instead, you get soggy chewy seaweed to bite thru

I have to say I am extremely disappointed…read more 76 dollars for 3 plates. SMH. And before I go on, mochiko chicken is the only dish worth eating here. Now let's begin. Walked into a restaurant where you don't get greeted upon entry, the girl walking around just smiles at you with no words. No hello, nothing. Not even an Aloha! I've been to the big island, there's endless praises everywhere. You did not get the vibe here. First time we came here we were wowed by the food. Portions were great at first. Once we got our orders yesterday, I knew our time had come. Cant support places that over charge for no apparent reason. Plain and simple. Chicken thighs are 2-3 dollars a pound, beef is like 8-10 dollars a pound. I use to be in the food industry and to see the portions of food here the second round. Either it shows they are hurting bad, or the chef "was having a bad day?" I just don't believe that. And I can assure you they are not using halal nor organic meats for them to justify portion to pricing. Back to my first remark like I mentioned above, mochiko chicken is the only dish I recommend if someone is coming for their first time. Soft tender chicken bites sprinkled with some nori like seasoning. Rice scoop and the infamous sad Mac salad. The Mac salad needs love. Serious revamping. I make an authentic island style Mac salad time to time. Far better than this recipe. I also ordered the Galbi which I did not appreciate the bait and switch. Since I've ordered it before and this time it was not cut into strips. Last I checked with the numerous photos posted here on yelp. The version we received just wasn't it. Everyone gets a decent portion of meat. Nothing chewy or even with bones. I even said to my mother in law she is going to love this dish. And she hated it. They still had the bones of the sliced short rib on, VERY FATTY, very chewy. Such a let down. And last the Dinosaur ribs. I asked about them and was given a hand comparison to sizing. Not gonna lie this wasn't it either. There was almost no meat. Was the cow taking ozempic? Google Dinosaur Ribs. No seriously Google, Dinosaur ribs. I mean you guys need some help if you think what I got was dinosaur ribs. Definitely gotta 86 this item or give people what they actually deserve. If you're going to serve a dish and call it dinosaur ribs, atleast provide a dinosaur portion of meat on them. I mean poor execution. Flavor was decent, but having to chew the bottom connective tissue was unappealing and far from appetizing. 68 dollars plus an 8 dollar tip was too steep for this lack luster rendition of what Hawaiian food is and should be.

But these two angels were great and happy to hear the suggestion of Hawaiian food for dinner. We went straight to Aloha Kids (not even stopping at our hotel before hand). The restaurant is so well decorated to me. I loved being in their space! The patio was their catering pick up (next day was Thanksgiving). It was busy! There was a constant stream of people coming and going. Inside Aloha Kids is smaller and narrow with few places to sit. They have a shelf with merch and I recognized some artists from the Bay Area in there! The person helping us told me they like to support small businesses and they were definitely doing so. Now, on to the most important part: the food. I ordered the Kalbi ribs, my husband ordered the loco moco, and our nieces ordered the chicken teriyaki and a spam musubi to share. The ribs were super tender and so good. I almost didn't want to offer my husband one. But I did and he really enjoyed it. He loved his loco moco so much, he barely spoke a word to me while he was eating. Our niece also really enjoyed their food and polished off their plates (just like us). My husband also ordered a side of their kimchi and it was DELICIOUS. The only thing we noted was the mac salad needed a little something, but we enjoyed it nonetheless. If we're ever back in the area, we're definitely coming back and trying other things on their menu!

I could have taken a quart of it home! The ravioli itself was perfectly cooked, generously stuffed with filling, and the taste of the butternut squash really came thru cleanly. The portion & the quality felt well worth the price, which is rare these days. An utter joy. Every bite was heaven. This will be a dish that I think about often. Mushroom risotto was delicious! Super soft mushrooms, great flavor, nicely cooked. I normally don't enjoy much rooms because they can get...squeaky. These were a generous amount, silky and smooth, and imparted a lot of great mushroom flavor to the rice. Another dish I'd order again anytime! We've also had both the lasagna and the gnocchi (w panna) and enjoyed them. The gnocchi in particular were so well made, just the perfect texture, pillow soft and a generous portion. You get a choice of sauces so I'd come back and try these with another sauce in the future just to see how that is. The panna was a lovely cream sauce with a light shallot flavor. I enjoyed it more and more as I ate and the sauce thickened. It was delivered pipping hot, so you have time to let the sauce set before digging in. Arugula & raddichio salad was SO fresh, delicious light dressing, excellent cheese. They kindly split this on two plates for us to share. Ever subsequent time we have ordered a salad they automatically do us this kindness. Very thoughtful. We have also tried the spinach and pear salad special of the day, which was delightfully tender spinach, tasty pears and an aged cheese in a wonderfully fresh dressing. I love their salad specials! We also had the special of the day appetizer which was buratta, prosciutto e melone. Delightful! The melon was crunchy & sweet, the prosciutto was great, and the buratta was so creamy. Service was excellent. Everyone who works here is very knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. They always have amazing specials, so be sure to ask about those. We have ended up ordering some of those every time we have been here. One of my favorite Italian places in all of LA. The quality is consistent, the menu is varied, the specials are actually special, and the covered outdoor patio area is great in all seasons. We will be back many times, I am sure.
