Wow, this place is amazing! Their donuts are by far the best in the area, and their breakfast sandwiches are yummy and affordable (all under $10). The donut holes are massive and delicious. We love the Oceanside "ambiance" and this place, for viewings on the outside is super chill. There's a nice selection of sweet options to choose from, from donuts to drinks; always a plus! Loved that this was walking distance from our hotel! My son wanted a chocolate sprinkle donut and yes they had exactly what he had in mind! They also have a very extensive donut and sandwich selection along with various beverage choices. The donut was fresh, staff was very kind and my son was happy! My wife and I decided to have a maple bar and a ham and cheese croissant. The donut was delicious. Light and fluffy...MMMMM The ham and cheese croissant is massive! Wasn't expecting it to be so big! So many delicious donuts to choose from. The staff were so friendly and patient while we decided what to order. I was on a meal Plan at the time and didn't get myself a donut. The lady working was sweet and gave me a donut hole for free to enjoy. There are fancy donut shops with very expensive donuts, and there are classic donut shops with traditional donuts at reasonable prices. There is really no in-between. Hill Street is definitely an old school spot. There is nothing fancy about these donuts but they are good and reasonably priced. Sometimes it is very nice not to pay $5 for a single donut. Free parking in the lot or on the street. read more

I love French crullers but not many donut shops have them. I used Yelp as a resource to find some and Hill St Donut House had really good reviews so we stopped by this morning. We were greeted by a charming couple who packed a box of six for us. When we got home we noticed that they had added a couple of donut holes as a gift. So nice! But the real gift was the quality, taste and freshness of our donuts. Hill Street is highly recommended! read more

Hill Street Donut House is officially a gem. The young couple that works there is incredibly kind and welcoming, and you can feel the care they put into everything the moment you walk in. The fresh orange juice is unreal -- bright, refreshing, and clearly squeezed fresh. And the sandwiches? Absolutely to die for. I ordered the B9 ham, bacon, egg, & cheese sandwich and loved it! It's rare to find a place that nails great food and great vibes, but Hill Street Donut House does both effortlessly. This place is absolutely amazing with the most kind workers (I think owners). I went here with my family this morning and the donuts and sandwiches were delicious. They even have fresh squeezed OJ. I've only been her a couple of times since it is a bit out of the way for me and there's a closer place I usually go. When I drove by early in the morning there were some construction workers enjoying their breakfast it looked like. When I went in it was empty (also a grey and rainy winter day!) which was fine with me since I was in a hurry! This is a great option too! My son and I love marshmallows so I was excited to see something unique! I remember getting a croissant years ago here which was also good. This place is a staple! read more

It is a rainy day and we are idiots standing in line waiting for the new BBQ place to open. I am getting hungry so I walked over to Hill Street donuts and got a cup of coffee and two donuts. The coffee must have been from the morning because it was nasty. It is 1:30 and there are only a couple of donuts left ( a cake, two glazed, and a sour cream) We got them all and they were very good. Chocolate Cinnamon Roll. In my humble opinion, it's the best donut at Hill Street. it wasn't fancy, but it had a great chocolate taste and was a filling snack/dessert. The Vanilla French Crueller had a great presentation but was a little too mushy on the bottom part and the sugar was overpowering. Don't know about their to-go policies. read more

My new years resolution in 2023 was to eat more donuts. On 1/31/2023, I made it to Hill Street Donut House. I wish I'd gotten here months earlier so I could have been enjoying more of their products sooner. Some Yelp reviewers call Hill Street Donut House "an old school donut shop," but it's more than just a donut shop. The Jalapeno, ham, and cheese croissant was very good, as was the coffee and donuts. Lots of other wonderful sounding items on the menu, too. I'll be going back for some of their other breakfast sandwiches and pastries. read more

Some people say I never met a donut shop I didn't love. Well I do love Hill Street Donuts they do a great job old school Donuts always fresh and always wonderful service. The apple fritter is done with the old-school crispy outside lovely moist inside great apple fritters great cinnamon rolls always fresh and delicious hot coffee. Get there early because many varieties will sell out especially if you like the favorites. Next time you're in Carlsbad or Oceanside make sure you give Hill Street Donuts I'll try you will not be disappointed read more

Yummy donuts!!! Skip the coffee though ;) We stopped in on a rainy, brisk day and grabbed some warm, freshly-made donuts after a walk on the beach....they were delicious! The donuts are the more dense, cake-like, type which is my favorite. The coffee was not up to par with what you'd expect from a donut shop, so that was a little disappointing but otherwise...I highly recommend it! read more

When I told him the sandwich I wanted, he clearly said to me "what would you like with the sandwich" a question I was never asked before because it simply came with a small bag of chips or pasta salad, so I asked what did the sandwich come with, "it comes" the word that he used "it comes with", not "extra charge" and he mentioned French fries, bag of chips while he pointed where the chips were, pasta salad. I said, "I'll try the French fries". Not ONE TIME he said to me that none of the items he mentioned to me were extra charge, I even told him, "oh they come with all that you just told me"? He said yes. When I paid the total came to $24 dollars, the sandwich itself was $13.65 and a coke that I ordered was $3, how did it get to $24? Well, the French fries were extra cost. Had I chosen a bag of chips, the once he pointed at were also extra charge just like if I ordered pasta salad, I found out about the extra charge from the lady that brought me the sandwich and I asked why my bill was $24 dollars, SHE, not the owner told me about the extra charges. After I said to her, "why didn't or doesn't the owner tell you so instead of saying that these extras come with the sandwich" she looked at me and said "I don't know". She didn't even know however any of the prices of the sandwich they sell. These are the new employees now. I know you are going to think why I didn't ask right away why my bill was $24 dollars. I didn't even think about it immediately, I was hungry at this point, the place was quite busy and I wanted to find a place to sit, no excuse, but didn't think about it right away. Not until I set down and then started thinking about why my bill was higher. That was my fault. I should have immediately asked and actually I should have gone to the owner afterwards and mentioned to him that he should tell the customers correctly, meaning do NOT SAY "IT COMES WITH" that means IS NOT EXTRA CHARGE. He needs to say that wherever we want with it, there is an extra, then up to the customer if he/she wants it or not. The sandwich did not taste like the way it used to taste, meatballs still small but they were very salty, and the fries although I will say cooked pretty nice, crispy and all, a very small portion and also very salty. Overall and sadly for me because I truly liked this place a lot with the previous owner, it's not a place I would go back to. The prices are as high and now higher than any other place nowadays, nothing spectacular, their bakery department is now very limited, used to be huge and very nice selections, they used to have a pastry chef in the back that made the best deserts, and I don't know if they also changed cook, but nothing tastes the same. The place is always very busy, so I am sure I won't be missed, I won't waste my money here again. The new owners should by now know what they sell, know how to interact with customers better, know the job they took over. The owners before were absolutely wonderful and great to talk to, they would interact with you ask you if everything was ok, great service from the staff. I miss them and the new owners really need to step up, it's time. The place also very dirty on floors, tables, trash cans totally disgusting and filthy.

The buffalo chicken sandwich is hands down the best around, and you can't go wrong with their burgers or pizzas either. Everything I've had has been consistently delicious. They're also incredibly dog-friendly, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, so I always know I'm going to be comfortable, happy, and well-fed. Parking is surprisingly easy too--even on busy PCH, I've always managed to find a spot either on the street or in their small lot. Green Cheek took over the previous space beautifully and has truly made it their own. I have no doubt this will be an Oceanside staple for many years to come. Five stars all the way!

Worker lady yelled at us saying she would tow our car. I fully complied and apologized for parking in the back but she still was abrasive and condescending. Tried their donuts and they were dry. Don't go here! Edit: Yes I have gotten donuts here before. They weren't great. She didn't say please she just straight up started yelling that she's going to call the police on me. I apologized and she kept insisting on calling the police. Very very very rude. Don't work in customer service if you don't know how to be a good person in your community ! read more
