Few things rile me more than when a car dealer says one thing, even puts a promise in writing, and then does something else. So please understand why I take what Hiller Ford did to me very seriously. I want to tell anyone and everyone to beware of Hiller Ford managers. They led me on with written representations that seemed firm and certain. Then a better offer came along, and everything they represented to me vanished into the air, cancelled because of some kind of technicality they alone were aware of. It still makes no sense how they could take a deposit from me on a car I really wanted to buy, then cancel my deal, to sell the car to someone else. I'm a senior citizen. I also live quite a distance from Hiller Ford. Therefore with the help of an assistant, we gave Hiller Ford my credit card information over the telephone for them to run a $500 deposit to hold a seemingly perfect and affordable car for me. Hiller Ford even faxed me a bill of sale that showed that they took did in fact place a $500 deposit from my VISA card as a deposit that was held against the sale price of the car. I thought the car was off the market, pending an inspection that a man who assisted me arranged right away, to take place the very next morning. However, someone came along who would buy it without any conditions to have the car pre-inspected. That is when Hiller Ford managers broke all good faith with me and sold the car to that person. When my assistant objected, even the General Manager said that "Because we didn't run the VISA card" for the $500 deposit, they had no obligation to sell the car to me. It didn't matter that the bill of sale faxed me showed that deposit placed against the price of the car; the General Manager said that because they didn't actually run the card, they had the right to sell the car to someone else! If there are other dealers you can deal with, you cannot do worse so far as I'm concerned. Hiller Ford abused my trust, wasted my time and the money I gave to the man to assist me through the process. The representations the made to me would make anyone believe the car deal was locked in and certain. Yet despite everything that they put in writing for me to trust, there word was absolutely worthless. I am looking for a reliable used car, and visited the dealership following a recommendation. Russ was the "salesman" that I was set up to talk to. He pulled the SUV around front that was seen online. He was told that several people informed me the price was higher than market and he was immediately soured. He didn't try to assure me WHY it was of value, but snarled that everyone has a different opinion. The detailed car was full of stains, the hard trunk liner was dirty (sand/gravel) and there were grease fingerprints on the inside of door. Exterior dents can be overlooked, however console compartment was also broken. Advised him that I was due for a good car and if I was spending that much money, I would like one without such obvious issues. Instead of telling me not to worry, he snapped "i never told you i wouldn't fix it". Again, dont be so defensive, HELP reassure me. SELL me on the car. Calm my worries. He then threw his hands up and said "Not even worth you trying to drive it then". After his rude and unnecessary responses, I handed him the keys, said "guess not" and was on my way. Perhaps recommend another car??? People that are buying a car, dont want to fix it right away. If there is concern, assure them that it will be handled. Be a salesperson and sell the car. Regardless how amazing the dealership itself is, or how great others are, he destroyed my chances of returning and me telling others anything but this story. read more

I just picked up my new 2016 F150 and want to let everyone know of my experiences with Hiller Ford. 5 years ago I stopped in to see the new 2011 Ford Mustang with the redesigned 5.0. I fell in love and two weeks later was picking up my new car. The buying experience was great and the sales manager Carl took good care of me. When I got home I discovered a couple bad chips out of me paint. Since it was a Ford demo car I didn't think anything would be done. They fixed the one in the fender but made me aware if they fixed the roof one, it would void my paint warranty because to much of the vehicle would require paint. Jay Hiller promised me that if I ever needed to trade or sell it they would give me top dollar. Fast forward five years and my family has grown, the most recent is two weeks old and the Mustang was no longer possible. Knowing this last August I visited and Pam Wolff and Carl went out of their way to make it easy to order my 2016 exactly the way I wanted it. Everything about this sale and experience was top notch. Pam Wolff and Carl did an amazing job in sales. Susan in internet sales had nothing to do with the sale but remembered my name and thanked me for my business. Craig in finance even took excellent car of me and respected the fact I did not have a lot to time to spend in his office. Great job all and I highly recommend this dealer to everyone. I leased a 2016 Edge on November 28. When we picked it up it was dark and rainy. My husband asked to have the vehicle pulled into the service department so that we could look at it. We were told no because the service dept was still open, but not to worry the car was in perfect shape. Turns out - the service department closed about 10 minutes after we got there - there was no reason why someone couldn't pull the car in. When I saw the car in daylight the next day, there was a scratch in the door. I followed up immediately with my sales person to receive nothing but the run around for several weeks. It all became my responsibility to figure out. Then once they were able to get the car in to fix, I got a loaner car that was delivered with low tire pressure - and not even close to what I lease. On top of that, I got lied to about when I'd get my vehicle back - screwing up a yearly tradition that I have with my son. Just avoid them - no one takes ownership of anything they're doing - there is no accountability, and no one will make any strides to fix their issues. read more

Worst Business buying experience ever. This dealership from the sales department to the owner are scammers. The salesman never returns emails or calls. Went to the dealership and worked with Joe on a new car, we haggled over numbers until we came to what I wanted, then the usual, the manager Steve comes in to haggle with me more, quote, "what is your bottom dollar?" I told him and he agreed to my price with trade, we both shook hands and made the gentleman's agreement. I came in the following week with my downpayment as agreed and met with Joe who didn't have any of the paper work ready, so I sat there for 40 minutes waiting for him. He comes back to me with the final numbers and it was a thousand more than we agreed on! He said he made a mistake in the numbers, I asked to talk with the manager Steve and he was not in. I told Joe, that was not what we agreed on and he again said, "sorry, I cannot change the numbers." I walked out. I later called the GM Wayne and explained how angry I was that I came down there based on our agreement and his salesman jacked the price up $1K. His comment was, "we made a mistake, it happens, and sometimes things change, I'm not going to change the numbers." I asked him why he cannot be accountable on our agreement which was a handshake, to me that is an agreement. He replied, "well you didn't sign any papers and things change, this day and age a handshake doesn't mean anything." Completely wasted my time and didn't even get the courtesy of a phone call to tell me this. I even spoke to the owner, Jay Hiller and he only knocked $500 off of their mistake. Now I'm in business real estate, I make a mistake, I eat it. This is how business works in order to get customer and retain customers. These guys have no integrity, are not accountable, and clearly do not hold themselves accountable for their mistakes and put it on the customer. Later I did hear from another person while shopping around that they had the same experience and walked away. Stay away from these guys, they take no responsibility for their actions or words. I normally would not have written a review but I am still upset about how I was treated. I came in to look at a new 2015 Mustang Gt in my 2007 Mustang Gt. I was greeted before I even left my Mustang. Talked to a salesman for about an hour got some information about the Mustangs you had for sale I told the salemen that I would be back with my wife later to get her opinion. I returned to your store in my 2003 Ford Explorer with my wife. We were on our way to the Menards down the street. So me and my wife got out of my truck and made are way over to the Mustangs. We walked the lot looking at just Mustangs. About 20 minutes had pass by now. We walked back over the the yellow Gt that you have on front of your business. Still no salesman to be found. I figured it must be busy, but as my truck and one other car park in front of your building I surely doubted that. So we walked around the car a few times still no salesman. I kept an eye on the building I seen one of your sales men come to the window look right at me and my wife he turned around and walked back into the showroom. I figured if he didn't have time to come help me he would send some one else out. But we made a few more circles around the Mustang she wasn't completely sold on the color but I told with some appearance upgrades it would look good. So after about 30 minutes now we gave up got back in my truck and went to Menards. My wife commented that that's the longest we have ever spent at a dealership with no help. We had purchased her 2012 Ford Fusion and my current 2007 Mustang Gt from one of your competitors. I can say I won't be back to your dealership. I can't believe your staff would not come out and great a customer base on what car they are driving. I am writing this letter because it is still stuck in my mind my wife asked how was the service when I came earlier that day I told her great but, now I don't feel like I was treated with respect. I have owned a Ford truck for 9 years and I have been loyaly getting my oil changes at the dealer, because I like the mororcraft parts. Today I went in for an oil change "The works" and the service rep refused to rotate my tires because I have aftermarket wheels and tires. We are not talking about monster truck tires, but 33s on 18 inch wheels. Even though they did it in the past the rep said "not anymore". I guess I wont be buying my next truck from them since I can't upgrade the "car" tires most of these trucks come with. Pay over 35k on a truck and I cant modify it? read more
