My friends and I went for lunch to Moms recently With a group. I had been there before. Usually for take out. It had been a while but I remember it was good. I ordered the chicken fried chicken. Mashed potatoes, of course and fried zucchini. It was amazing. The chicken was almost as big as the plate. I knew that was 2 or 3 meals for me. What really got my attention was the fried zucchini. I shared with my friends and we all agreed it was the best we ever had. Same breading as the chicken but this was to die for. I'm going back again and ordering two sides of zucchini. read more

In the small strip center there is this little restaurant Mom's Cafe. I just want to say that this place has really great food. It's kind of an old school breakfast dive but very clean. I contracted h pylori bacteria from eating a burger here. It was the only thing I ate that day so I know it was from this burger. That night I had food poisoning and threw up, the follow three months my sides were hurting and ulcers. The doctors did so many tests on me to find out what it was. They were shocked to find out it was h pylori bc the bacteria was eradicated for years. It's coming back because people don't wash their hands well or clean their cell phone, then touch their cell and touch food. This is a relatively cheap place to eat breakfast. I had the migas which are always pretty good. I also added the mom's breakfast from a time I went before. Everything was cooked correctly. The only down side is the waiter seemed to be new. He never brought me silverware even after seeing me eat my breakfast with my coffee spoon. I ordered UberEats. They had by one get one free. Looks like they took one meal and divided it into 2 meals and charged me over $15.00 for a meat lovers omelet that I had to put both together to make one omelet. They gave one slice of toast which they cut in half. Who gives one slice of toast for a breakfast? They gave a spoon full of breakfast potatoes. It gets worse. I ordered delivery through UberEats, and was VERY DISAPPOINTED. The options were tiny and the chicken fried chicken was SUPER DRY. Instant mashed potatoes and what seemed like packaged gravy was not good. The green beans were really good, but the roll tasted like it was left over from the night before and microwaved. Hadn't eaten here in a while. With so many places closed today I was driving around looking for someplace decent that was open. I popped in with the intention of getting breakfast. Instead I ordered the chopped sirloin smothered in grilled onions and brown gravy. It was delicious! A true sign of well made food is not needing to season it. The two sides were also very good and served in traditional homestyle bowls. The little corn bread loaf was served warm and moist. The wait staff was friendly and prompt. We've been coming to Mom's for 5 years and we love this neighborhood spot. They have a wide variety of menu items. Wish they were open for dinner! The girl working there told me there's a new owner (purchased 2 months ago) so I'm expecting to see some changes. Menus on Yelp are super old so adding the newest ones here with their specials. For this visit, we ordered: 1) chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and fried okra 2) Senior Plate, 2 pc fried catfish with 1 side, grilled mixed veggies Verdict: Chicken fried chicken was smashed down so thin it was completely dry. As in the chicken was crispy because it was so dry. Mashed potatoes tasted like they came from a box. Okra was perfect. Catfish was good, light crisp. Veggies were pretty much green bell peppers. The rolls that came with our meals were GOOD. Prices definitely went up, as well as everything in our lives. I hope to try some of the specials soon. We usually get breakfast to go (love everything we get) but curious to see how things will change with new ownership. read more

I've being going to Mom's for 25+yrs......I'll never go again! Ownership changed in the last few years and food and service has continued to go downhill. I ordered a grilled chicken salad today and received the worse salad I've ever gotten!! Brown and nasty lettuce, bone dry dry chicken, and requested extra ranch and of course did not receive it. Dined in with an friend a couple of weeks ago......placed our order and after waiting 30+ minutes found out that the server never gave it to the kitchen staff!!! Then, had to wait another 20 minutes to get at best mediocer eggs and hashbrowns. years ago this was the best cafe around......not any longer. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

Not a super noticeable restaurant, but in a simple location to find. The omelets were delicious. The pancakes and biscuits tasted like flour and water from a preschool project; my family did not finish them. I tried a bite and was disappointed in the taste. Mom's cafe is one of those places that every town must have. They have a great breakfast ... the one exception is that their coffee is only meh. The hash browns are potato perfection on a plate. I get cravings for the hash browns! The service is decent, and everyone is welcome. People come from all walks of life to go to Mom's. It's the absolute best way to start off a Saturday morning. I found Mon's Cafe in a search on Google and since they were open until 3pm, we headed over there. We've never been there before, but we will be back! Their menu has a little bit of everything and the prices were affordable. I got the mushroom Swiss omelet with a side of country potatoes and toast. Everything was brought to our table hot and was all well-seasoned. I ordered an extra side of the country potatoes solely based on the reviews online and I was not disappointed. These were the best seasoned/flavorful country potatoes I have ever had at any restaurant. Megan was our waitress and she was attentive and friendly. (Sorry if I spelled her name wrong.).
