Decided to venture out this morning for breakfast and found this location about 8 minutes from my house. I was surprised there were only 2 people in the restaurant at 7:30am on a Sat morning. I was seated quickly and attended to quickly as well. The restaurant is in the Christmas spirit with Christmas decor & music- which is a plus for me! I started with a cup of coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice. Both were good. For my meal I ordered the Meat Lovers Skillet- no eggs, add bell peppers and onion and pancakes. Went here on a Monday morning before going to the spa and it was a nice start to the day. It is a cute setting and the waiter was very calm and courteous. The food just came out a little slower than we expected for being one of about 3 couples present. The food was good but nothing too special. It could use just an extra touch of seasoning or something that would give an extra spark. Smoothie tasted a little watery, skillet meal wasn't served on a skillet hot plate. i would say the service here is a 4, but the food is a 2. our waiter was super sweet and patient, and everyone who worked here was really nice. i ordered the chilaquiles ($15), and i feel like they are usually served with a sunny side up or fried egg on top. here, they were scrambled. on the menu, it just said "eggs". our waiter also didn't ask how i wanted my eggs (though he did with my family members who ordered other egg dishes), but i probably should have specified anyways. the menu also said there would be guacamole on it, but there was none. speaking of guacamole, a lot of restaurants usually charge extra for it, which i can understand because avocados are expensive. that wasn't the case here - but they do charge a dollar extra for sour cream?! the chilaquiles themselves were just fine. my family doesn't usually love american restaurants because they prefer things to have low salt and low sugar. however, we were all POURING salt on all of our dishes because they had no taste. they weren't bad, they just weren't good. one thing i really did like was the cinnmon roll french toast ($13). it wasn't too sweet and i liked the flavor. overall i didn't really like the food here, but my cousin comes here nearly every week because she loves it so much. maybe we came on an off day. i will say that the prices are pretty good compared to other brunch spots. read more

The restaurant was quiet, maybe ten people total, yet service felt scattered from the start. We had to ask repeatedly for things that should have been handled without prompting. Coffee refills required asking. We had to ask twice for the check. Basic table awareness just wasn't there. We also placed a to go order at the same time as our dine in order and clearly explained that we would be leaving about 15 minutes after our meals were served. That timing was completely missed. We had to keep asking about it, which made the whole situation unnecessarily stressful. The food didn't help. The scrambled eggs were badly overcooked, rubbery, and had that strong overcooked egg taste that's hard to ignore. For a breakfast staple, that's disappointing. I want this place to do well. That's why this review is honest. When it's not busy, there's really no excuse for missed details like this. I'm highly shocked that I haven't made a review about this place yet. I've been here two-three times and each time has been pretty good. The coffee is segafredo, which I am a big fan of. That and Lavazza is pretty awesome. This time we came with out newborn, and there was alittle wait, for the server to show up, but otherwise he was attentive. It was super quiet in the place, and it is nice and cute (decorative inside) My wife had the whole hog skillet, and she loved it. I tried a piece and it was really good. Hashbrowns with eggs is fantastic, but I thought there was too much meat. Granted, that is why she got it, not me. I had the migas, which is a fantastic dish. The jalepenos are not too spicy, the hashbrowns were crispy, and I added alittle more salt to them. I do like my salt, sadly, but I drink enough water to take care of that. lol To top everything off, we ended breakfast seeing one of my former players, which is amazing. I love the fishes, and it was a great last breakfast in Dallas before moving to New Mexico. read more

Which made all the difference. He anticipated our needs without us even having to ask, checked in at the perfect times, and made us feel completely taken care of. What really stood out was how personable he was; it didn't feel like just another dining experience, it felt like he actually cared about making sure we had a great time. The perfect breakfast spot! The food was cooked with love! My wife got the 4 x 2 which is eggs, sausage, bacon, and pancakes. The eggs were so fluffy and good-looking with a great taste. The bacon was cooked to perfection with a nice crisp to it. The pancakes lacked the crunchy edges we prefer, but were still good. She even raved about the coffee. I got the break burrito which was stuffed with cheese, egg, and sausage. (Chef's kiss) Magnificently done. And my side of hashbrowns were crunchy and delightful. Unfortunately, the chilaquiles were disappointing--the sauce tasted like store-bought jarred sauce, and the eggs were completely flavorless. Luckily, my waitress was kind enough to let me switch my order, and I opted for the migas. Those were much better--I'd give them an 8/10--but they came with an unnecessary, overly seasoned chip garnish that took away from the dish rather than enhancing it. I sat in the bar area by the patio while taking a break from running errands, but the service was lacking. My waitress rarely checked on me, and I had to flag down other staff just to get assistance. What really pushed me to leave this review was the completely unprofessional behavior of another waitress. While I had my headphones on, I could still clearly hear her answering a phone call and loudly cursing out someone over a personal matter--right at the front of the restaurant. It was incredibly awkward and unprofessional, especially in a place where customers are dining. Visited her on a Saturday for a Boozy brunch with the girls and left pretty disappointed. Got here around noon and ordered some mimosas to start with, and it took our host/server 30 mins to tell us that they ran out of champagne and there was no way they could arrange some for us. Since they have no other drink options except beer, some of us decided to order coffee/ tea. My friend asked for a peppermint tea and that was unavailable too and all of this really dampened our moods to eat there but our food order was already taken so we couldn't leave. Futhermore, a couple bites into our food, one of my friends realized there were egg shells in her Eggs Benedict and could not continue eating her dish. We immediately informed our host/server who apologized for it, but he did not offer to replace it or even take it off the bill. Came here on a very busy Sunday afternoon. The service wasn't that great. There was one table opened that was only semi clean that they tried to sit us at. We opted to wait for a different booth that would be cleaned fully before we sat down. There was an extensive menu but we didn't see any mimosas, bloody Marys, or any brunch drinks on their menu. It took a while for the food to come out and it wasn't that memorable. I am not sure if I will be back to this place. Modern Diner, I got a table fairly easy on a sunday. Our server was FANTASTIC. She had great energy severing everyone! Food is standard diner food with diner prices but in a nice and clean area. Blueberry Pancakes are pretty but nothing fantastic for me. Normal Pancakes were great. Fresh Orange juice is great. Chicken Fried Steak and mashed potatoes are bland. How many times do you wish a breakfast spot would ask how you want certain items prepared, like poached eggs, toast , bacon or hash browns. This attention to detail was awesome as Isabella made sure my eggs were to my liking (poached soft), my bacon was crispy and my daughter's hash browns were also crispy. Said daughter just moved nearby, so I'm sure we will be back! Cute and airy space with a little coffee bar at the front right. Peppermint lattes with oatmilk were wonderful on a chilly day. We saw this spot earlier in the week and put it on the list to try since breakfast is awesome. Upon walking in we were immediately greeted in a very friendly manner. The restaurant was recently renovated for their opening so was nice and clean. Their menu is right in line with all the breakfast cafes in town and have all the favorites and they close early like all the other cafes as well. I went with the For Dad breakfast and upgraded to Strawberry pancakes. The strawberries were nice and fresh and i love whip cream so a good choice for me. I wanted to drop in while it was still "new" and I was very happy I did. A little birdie told me that I should expect the same menu/interior as Starwood Cafe. Sorry, I've never been there but I enjoyed my experience here. Alex was my host and he never kept my daughter and I waiting. As far as "waiting" goes they did have a 5-10 minute wait for their guests who were waiting to be seated. No lounging outdoors for your wait. It wasn't a long wait so we didn't find it a problem today. They also only have one restroom stall for women and one restroom stall for men. I could tell from the other guests' smiles that they were also enjoying themselves. This establishment could easily seat 35-40 guests at its peak time. There's one seating area in the far back for a huge party of 8-10. No worries, tables can easily be placed together to accommodate larger parties. What a great little secret in The Colony area. The best breakfast place in the area by far. The value, quality and quantity you get for you money is great. The weekends are a bit hectic but you should be able to get I. During the week no problem. The staff is very attentive and helpful. The food is delicious. The crepes are amazing and the skillets are just delicious. The restaurant has a farmhouse feel which makes it a cozy place for breakfast. This is an updated review... My wife and I as well as business colleagues have been to this restaurant multiple times for breakfast and lunch. This morning we had two surprises...one annoying and one a definite issue. I had requested. substitute on one of the items on an order, "no problem"....but when the bill showed up the substituted item was deleted but an extra charge was added for the substitution with no adjustment to the original item price. That was mostly annoying but got fixed. My wife orders a decaf coffee and then asked for a refill...as she had multiple times before. ..except this time they charged her again..something like $4 for another cup. I told here we had never been charged like that for a refill at any visit. The 'manager' claimed it was always this way and acted like she didn't believe me. She kept waving towards the front of the restaurant something calling it a 'grinder' as the reason. She was oblivious to the complaint and just kept smiling There was nothing on the menu about charging each cup of decaf and apparently they don't charge for regular coffee refills. We never got a coherent answer as to why the charge, finally gave up and left Food is still good and the service is still above average...but it drops off our 'preferred place to go list read more

I had brunch with a friend at Hills Cafe today, and this spot reminds me of what you'd get if a cozy diner married a trendy modern cafe. The service was spot on as the woman that took our orders was friendly and checked on us plenty of times to make sure we had everything we needed. I ordered a decaf coffee with honey, as well as a Mediterranean salad and my friend had chocolate chip pancakes, some breakfast dish that had hash brown, mushrooms, eggs, and a mix of other things, with a mocha on the side.
