I came across the awesomeness of Brightside purely by chance one day as I was in between showings in Hillcrest and University Heights. My office being roughly five minutes away, on Park Blvd, I'd always see the hubbub around this new-ish place with people coming to and fro, so I told myself I had to check it out! I came back the following weekend as a walk-in, and it was easily the best decision I've ever made! Lyndsay W. was purely amazing from start to finish. When I first sat down I wasn't 100% sure on what exactly I wanted to have done, but she listened to exactly what I was thinking about, gave me her thoughts/tips, and she did an absolutely stellar job! Her stories are freaking hilarious and she'll brighten your day even before putting a finger on your head! Lyndsay will make you feel right at home and like a friend you've known for years, right from the very start. She's got a forever client in me now! Parking can be a bit tough at peak times & on the weekends, as they have some contenders around, like Trader Joe's and Ralph's. Nothing too crazy, though! The whole vibe inside is awesome. The other barbers have an amazing energy, always smiling and laughing, and it's easily shown that everyone here loves their job & their clients! Beer, sodas, and other libations are all up for grabs, too; freaking dope! Plus, their soundtrack is unbeatable. This place is for sure one to reckon with and 100% worth checking out! I've gone here probably half a dozen times or so, and in the beginning, regardless of whose chair I sat in, I walked out happy. The last times I've gone for a cut, the work has progressively gotten worse. While I don't know what has been going on here, I have noticed a lot of turnover, which should have been the first sign. Between dealing with "barbers" who aren't allowed to use a razor and can't keep a straight line, to people who don't follow simple instructions (despite repeating them back to you/me) and having to do touch ups when I get home, this place has gone downhill. Nice people here, but for the price that you pay, I can no longer recommend Brightside, as the quality just isn't there. Overall, my experiences here have become rather disappointing, so you should probably try elsewhere. read more

I went in for a straight razor shave this summer as I had a wedding that evening and wanted to feel pampered and look my best. The barber doing the shave cut my face several times, and in places where she didn't cut me, my skin was either left severely irritated or with very visible hair left. My date to the wedding even commented about how my face looked mangled and asked what happened. I get much closer shaves at home with disposable razors without mangling my face. Bright side has been my Barber of choice especially since I met Britton. The COVID crisis has really put a HUGE damper on everyone's daily normal life. Haircuts have become a luxury. I was so excited for Brightside to open back up, i felt completely safe during that time, then Brightside got shut down again... This Team has really stepped up, thought outside of the box, bringing just 2 well distanced chairs to the front of the shop, closing off the rest of the space, and sitting you in front of a open and well vented window to ensure they can continue to bring all their customer service in the safest way possible. I have a hard time making appointments in my line of work, but since weekends are crazy i was able to message Britton and ask him to let me know if something opens up, sure enough it did, and he delivered amazing service, making me feel all fresh as he always does in half the time.
