Can't say enough great things about this place. We were in town camping & decided to stop in for breakfast. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating, the views were beautiful, and the food was fantastic. My boyfriend said the breakfast burrito was the best he's ever had. I tried a bite & can confirm! I had the eggs & toast - homemade bread was great. Especially paired with their homemade jam. We got a maple walnut scone to go - wow. We had such a great experience that we went back this morning for round 2. Boyfriend stuck with the breakfast burrito. I had the french toast and it was delicious. We took a biscuit with jam and a chocolate chip cookie to go for the ride home. 10/10, must go if you're in the area! read more

Delish! I had the three egg omelette with goat cheese and caramelize red onions, multigrain toast and it came with orange segment garnish. The eggs were from the farm and bread baked local. Also had a sweet crepe and I love a good crepe. Unsweetened chai latte wad sweeten with just a bit of acai syrup. Visiting the newborn cows was also treat. Absolutely I will be back. read more

I am thrilled to see this place under new ownership! My past experiences there were negative mostly due to the disorganized feel of the way the place was run... It has improved greatly with the new owners! The food is fresh and homemade and the cafe itself is beautiful, has a warm environment and is delightfully earthy with handmade art and charming pottery mugs. Coffee is strong like you need it! I ordered some things to take out for my husband and I, and the portions were so big, we ate what we got for a couple of days afterward. He loved the grilled cheese with bacon and carmelized onions and I got the rice bowl and we shared some of the chicken veggie burrito. Colorful veggies, strong flavors, and very satisfying. I remember the old 4 Corners farm from my childhood, it is fun to be able to go there and see what it has become. read more

I love how tiny and quaint this place is. You do overhear other people's conversations quite easy but if you're up for it, I guess it's another way to make new friends.. This was a fantastic dining experience. My dad and I came after snowboarding at Crotched Mountain. The restaurant is in the first floor of an old farm house. The server said it was built in the late 1700s. We started with a cup of the vegetain chili and thought it delicious and filling. It came with two pieces of thick bread that was pan fried. Next, we both had the llapingachos, which are pan fried mashed potato pancakes with fried eggs on a bed of kale and with a peanut sauce over top. Very good! We finished with a chocolate chip cookie with sea salt and thought it was the perfect end to a fine meal. I will definitely be back and with friends. There is also a farm stand onsite to get a mix of produce. I like their focus on local produce and less meat. read more

Very nice brunch spot. Food was very well prepared and not the same old boring bacon and eggs. Sat outside under beautiful shade tree and tent. It's definitely outside of a working farm. We love that sort of thing. We tried the paella, polenta, lemon berry French toast and crepes all were wonderfully prepared. Reservations recommended. Staff was very courteous. I had wanted to visit this cafe for awhile, and decided to drive up on a vacation day. Imagine my shock when I arrived and there was nowhere to park. Near the cafe entrance sign was a bigger sign No Cafe Parking. Other empty spots had signs Store Parking Only, Barn Parking Only, and Fueling Parking Only. I drove around the building and there was no parking anywhere. If you're in downtown Boston I get no parking, but when you're out in the country where there's no mass transit you need to provide it. It appears the proprietors didn't have any interest in being restauranteurs, but wanted another revenue stream, which they added on hastily without proper planning. The coffee and food here are great.. Really really good in fact. The menu isn't for everyone, it's not a greasy spoon type menu. The reason this place is getting two stars from me is the service. The servers are nice but them being nice doesn't really help me when I've been waiting on my drink order for 45 minutes and the nice waitress has forgotten to take our food order altogether, taking 3-4 tables orders ahead of us, even though we'd shown up long before them. Again, they're nice here, so it's hard to get mad at them, but it's just amateur hour when it comes to organization and getting the food and drinks out in a timely and orderly manner.. Sorry I'd love to give this a higher score, get a rockstar waitress and maybe things will turn around. read more

Our family has been going to the Hilltop Café for many years. Gorgeous Atmosphere, staff are friendly and great food. This Café has changed over the years and does not have a large selection of vegetarian dishes. We sometimes get their smoothies which are AMAZING! Pleasant enough, but just not my kind of place. That's based on the "purist" attitude - I just prefer a place with a bit more personality. The prices were high and the quality was excellent but $12+ for my husband's omelet...because the bacon is locally and humanely raised.,. Is a bit much. Mind you, this was the onion omelet with tomato, bacon and cheddar (instead of goat) cheese. My Huevos Rancheros dish was very tasty! Although we were sufficiently satisfied with the food and the service, my husband volunteered what I was thinking as we left: we won't be going back. We would, though, recommend it to people who would appreciate that type of atmosphere. read more

Hilltop Cafe is one of my favorite local breakfast places. The ambience is wonderful -- the inside is so cozy, and the outside is so beautiful. This place feels like a little sanctuary. It's a great place to have a relaxing weekend brunch. One of the things I appreciate most about Hilltop is that they offer several plant-based options, which are delicious. Their veggie burrito is my favorite thing to get here. On top of the great food, I love the coffee here, not to mention how cute their coffee mugs are. It is very rare that I find a café that offers BOTH delicious espresso drinks and homemade food. Let's start with the espresso: It's fair trade, organic, rich and bold prepared by a trained barista who knows how to pull the perfect shot. My husband ordered an iced latte and I ordered a hot, maple latte. They were some of the best coffee drinks we have ever had. The maple latte is especially unique, because it uses local, maple syrup...adding a special touch to an already perfect, foamy latte. Now the food: Hilltop is actually connected to a CSA farm and uses local and organic ingredients. Talk about "farm to table"...Hilltop is actually ON the farm! You feel good about eating here, because you are eating REAL food that isn't processed. We had the Huevos Rancheros and the Chorizo and Egg. Both were very flavorful. Oh and the croissants are perfectly light, buttery and super fresh. I've never had better. If I lived around here, I would eat at the Hilltop Café at least twice a week. We had a great Huevos Rancheros, Llapingachos and French Toast here today! The French toast was really the standout for me. It's made on a croissant instead of a standard bread slice and the accompanying maple syrup and whipped cream were delicious. The staff were all so friendly and made us feel at ease. Yes, you'll pay a bit more and, yes, the menu selection isn't as vast as the places on Milford Oval. However, we LOVE this place and eat here at least once a month. It is the most soulful food...local, organic, and DELICIOUS. After your meal, take a walk around the farm and appreciate where your food came from. There's a path that goes up to the High Mowing campus - follow it and you'll be rewarded with an expansive view of local hills and mountains. read more

We had a late breakfast there and the meals were really tasty. My wife got the huevos rancheros and I got the ...peruvian breakfast (I can't remember the name, but I remember how it tasted). Because we were there around 10:30am on a weekday we were able to sign in the fireplace room by ourselves. The servers were very nice and the food arrived quickly, which was good because we had hiked beforehand and were hungry. We ate here last summer when we were in the area, and we'll go back again this summer a few times more. read more

This is such a cute place. The staff is nice and I've never had a problem with ordering something custom. The seating feels very nostalgic and comfy. Charming, welcoming and kid friendly, family owned. Everything fresh, local dairy and ice cream. Very comfortable to hang out; even if alone I bring a book or laptop. Crepes, omelets, salads, pastries. Exotic teas, chais, coffees, expresso (yum!) and italian sodas. On the moderately pricey side but I do not see how they can avoid it since they use local and have low foot traffic. They offer dinners on Friday nights with reservations now. I have not tried dinner yet but their lunches are so good I would not hesitate if the occasion came up to have dinner there. read more

Such a treasure to stumble upon! All organic, fresh, quality food. The environment is cozy (see small and quaint). The servers approach you like you're good friends-everything is very easy going. Go there for: the food (you leave feeling full and not gross); to support community supported agriculture; their lattes (the foam was on point! and got a good little caffeine buzz on a simple 2 shot latte). Do not go there if you are in a rush as the place fills up pretty quickly and the atmosphere and service is more for the lingering type that likes to ponder life and such over espresso than the busy "I gotta eat and go" type. read more

well we never knew this place existed but i yelped for a sorta local breakfast place and found this.......it is out in the woods some but worth the trip.....it is in an old historical home and is pretty small.....menu choices were limited but what we had (pollenta with eggs and onion goat cheese omelet) were both great....lots of beverage choices....noted they had 4 or 5 sandwich choices for lunch, very nice, we will be back oh it's cool in there so bring a sweated read more

The Hilltop Cafe is to die for! Everything is super fresh and everyone is very nice. I've had the veggie omelet and the veggie sandwich. Oh. My. So good. It's located on a hilltop (hence the name) with beautiful scenery and gardens. You can sit outside and it was absolutely amazing on this beautiful fall day today! The coffees (caramel latte and maple soy latte) were spectacular. The caramel was buttery and the coffee flavor was bold. The soy latte was small and lightly maple flavored which was perfect. The spinach and feta croissant was incredibly. Personally we like a lot of feta and there was the perfect amount mixed with the spinach wrapped in a fluffy and semi crunchy croissant ( I know this isn't how croissants should be but my mother loved it). The sweet cheese croissant is cream cheese with a lemon zest and it also was incredible. A much lighter and fluffier dough than that if the spinach and feta, so this croissant I 10/10 recommend. The farm is quaint and hidden to those who aren't looking for it. Definitely want to try the extensive breakfast menu and eat outside on the farm grass. Stop in the store too! read more
