Back at it again at this lovely coffee shop where I am so happy to support a local business that is so consistent with kindness. I went in for a TGTG bag of coffee beans which makes me want to start making coffee at home with how many options there are for beans. I switched to instant from when I was abroad and haven't really made other types since I have been back. I ordered a drip coffee with almond milk (Tim was so kind to put the almond milk in a cup to go for me) and I ordered a mocha with pistachio milk. I also ordered a macaron which Tim was so kind to give me an extra one. I am so happy that this is gluten free as it's made with almond flour and not the traditional wheat flour. I can't wait to go back again and now he is open later which is really helpful during rush hour traffic. Parking was back to normal as they had construction the last time I was there.

What a gem of a coffee shop! They've got baked goods from Grandview bakery, healthy foods, coffee, tea, and matcha. This is truly a place where you can, and should, dine in. The baristas are very knowledgeable about their products. Beans roasted in house, syrups made in house, and even oat, almond, and pistachio milks made in house.

This place made me feel better than my own home. It was my first time at Hilltop Café, and I can honestly say the kindness and warmth here are rare to find. The owner and the staff weren't doing this for money -- it was so clear that they genuinely love what they do. They even let me try their handmade products, and everything was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere is so cozy and comforting that I wanted to stay until the evening. They truly made my day. From now on, I'll be coming here every week, at least once. Don't wait for your path to cross with this place -- make it a destination. Highly recommended.

Hilltop Coffee is a true neighborhood gem! Visit them for excellent, naturally grown, ethically sourced single-origin coffee and so much more. Their beans are fresh-roasted, and their amazingly talented barista team--make every drink with care and precision. The operating manager is incredibly knowledgeable about all things coffee and will whip up a delicious latte you'll remember. The owners, a sweet couple, have always dreamt of opening a café, and it shows in every detail--they've created a space that's as warm and welcoming as it is high quality. Hilltop Coffee began as, and will always be, a community-centered coffee shop. From their specialty lattes, espresso, matcha, teas, and chai lattes to their baked goods and savory treats from local spots, everything is served with heart and intention as well as supporting local. It's also a fantastic spot for remote work. There's some comfortable seating inside, including soft chairs and local artwork on the walls, making the atmosphere feel cozy and inviting. Whether you're stopping by for a quick caffeine fix or planning to stay and work for a while, Hilltop Coffee is the perfect spot. Highly recommend!

The coffee shop!

We were looking for a new coffee shop to try today and came across Hilltop Coffee! The staff, service, and ambience were excellent and we will definitely be back! One of the best lattes I've had in Pittsburgh!

Iced caramel latte is my go-to!

I had a great visit to Hilltop Coffee! Tim is so welcoming and super knowledgeable about the coffee which is roasted in-house! He even makes the almond milk! The space is really comfortable, definitely a place to grab a drink, play some games, & just relax for a couple hours. He's even looking into offering treats from local gluten free bakers soon! I definitely see myself stopping by again soon.

A gem in south hill area! A great neighborhood coffee shop that provides high quality coffee drinks and local bakery goodies. I've been a couple of times over the year and tried both heir hot and iced drinks, enjoyed them all. People working there are so nice, i really enjoyed talking with them :) #supportlocalbusiness

Strawberry matcha iced latte

I've been here a few times since it's within walking distance of my house. I ordered the strawberry matcha latte here I believe this is the second time and it's really good and refreshing for the summer. Every time I've been in here I've had great customer service. The staff is very welcoming and warm. The prices are very fair as well. When I went in today I mentioned I dropped my dog off at home to come back and get a drink and they gave me a pup cup to bring home to him! I'll definitely be back it's nice to have shops within walking distance of my house.

Coffee with cinnamon roll.

Stopped in for coffee and a cinnamon roll. Coffee was very good. The cinnamon roll was ok. They had a 10oz cup size, which was good for me. Prices were on the less expensive side for a small coffee shop (at least for my order). The cafe is on the smaller side. They have a variety of seating, including 3 or 4 square tables which could be used for working. They had some other seating for talking, and board games. We didn't attempt the wifi. For getting work done, not sure about outlets. Everyone inside was friendly.

On a scale of cotton candy to Brussels sprouts, Hilltop Coffee is a tiramisu cake. Each bite is layered and delicious. I'm always nervous about visiting new-to-me coffee shops when there's no parking lot in sight, but Hilltop Coffee is surrounded by free street parking! It's set at the corner of two streets, and it offers a few tables on the inside for 2-4 people. I enjoyed my vanilla latte immensely, and I also loved chatting with the barista about reading! It's always a delight to find another book lover. I'd highly recommend a visit to Hilltop Coffee!

Overall, this place is very good. I have been here multiple times. The burgers are great and the…read morefries are delicious. Burgers ooze with every bite. Fries are the kind that have some sort of breading and are nice and crispy. Today I got the BLT and I would definitely get it again! The side salad was kind of mediocre (I was trying to make a healthier choice and avoid the fries). Got a beer (not pictured). Usually the service is very good, but I'm going to be honest, it was pretty sad today. My girlfriend and I agreed it seemed like the bartender both hated his job, and was not good at it. We will still be back. Cool little Southside place with pinball machines and a relaxed bar atmosphere.

Nice space with lots of creative flare in their decor and an overall good atmosphere. The beer list…read moreand draft system is fantastic. The food is good, as long as you go in with the right expectations. This isn't fine dining, but it's a nice take on vegetarian-accessible pub food, slightly elevated. The vegan tofu wrap was nicely done with crispy fried tofu, but it was heavily dependent on the availability of various sauces for flavor. The "disc brake bean cakes" were somewhat unique, but still good when fully assembled with all the relevant toppings. They would probably be better described as black bean crepes with Tex-Mex toppings. I highly recommend ordering several different sauces to go with your meal (buffalo, barbecue, diablo, etc.). We ordered takeout this time, and the overall ordering experience was good. There is an online ordering page, but the items on that page aren't completely aligned with menus on the web site. We ended up calling to place an order, which was still very easy. All the food was well packaged and ready to go exactly when they said it would be. This is a great South Side destination, especially when you're looking for something comfortable and relatively low key but still fun.
