We picked the Garden Inn on our way to Portland. We had just drove from Malibu and was exhausted and needed to retire for the day. We are actually investment buyers and was on our way to look at our next investment. After checking in the only person that assisted us further after the clerk disappeared was a young man named Currin, he said he was working a banquet but he would have someone assist us with our bags! Best customer skills we have ever seen! He was so friendly and kind! Even offered us cold glasses of water after our long hot drive. As we were walking to out room a lady approached the young man I am assuming the manger who help us previous...Currin, and was extremely rude! I heard something over bagels and her company Remax and how the last manager gave everything for free! How classless...I listened further of her downgrading him and him backing up his company policy very professional and politely!!! Funny thing is as invest buyers we were going to contact Re Max but after I saw how this lady treated the Banquet manager over bagels we cringed! How can you run a company when you are trying to gauge the next company! Everyone has over head cost! The manager Currin explained that and you degraded him in-front of everyone! Shame on you! He was so polite and you were very unprofessional to say the least ! Ughh I wish I wrote down your name but I was so shocked by your behavior over bagels! Obviously the last manager gave a lot of free food a way and since this young man is by the book you are upset! This is not okay Re Max! If your stealing from another company how much are you stealing from people buying homes on the closing cost! Your agents need to be professional in and out of the office! Bottom line is the only reason I'm giving this five stars is for the young man, Currin I believe is his name. He brought customer service to a whole new level! Best believe since I work also on internet marking Hilton will get my best review just based on this young mans priorities for the best customer service even when dealing with bullies such as Re Max! read more

I had a pleasant stay at this Hilton Garden Inn. Everywhere I went within the hotel had a fresh and up-to-date look and feel. The beds are very comfortable, and are adjustable for a softer or firmer surface- I've never slept on one of these before. It's a great touch! Each room has a small keurig, a microwave, and a mini fridge. However, my room did not contain a safe. I do prefer having a safe in my room when staying multiple nights. The staff was all helpful and pleasant, and I would definitely stay here again. read more

I stay in Eugene every 6 weeks and decided to give this place a try over the Candlewood Suites I normally stay at because this is closer to my morning appointment. Clean, sparsely furnished rooms. Close to freeway with a lot of traffic noise. Through my company's internal booking system, we can choose two 'preferences' to include with a reservation. I won't go into my two preferences only to say, if a place can't meet them, I'll go somewhere that will. I won't be back. I give the place 3.5 stars, customer service 1.5. read more

Thin walls/ceilings/floors. Nice rooms but listings are wrong. We specifically booked a jetted tub room only to get there and be given a room without a jetted tub. We then find out that our room level never has jetted tubs and we would have to pay $30 extra for a suite in order to get a jetted tub. And they refused to give a complimentary upgrade as an apology for the misleading listing - even though we showed them a screenshot of our completed reservation on our laptop and they agreed that it did say the room we were booking had a jetted tub - it just doesn't, in reality, have a jetted tub. We paid the extra money only to be woken up by our neighbor above us at 6am who proceeded to stomp around and bang every door and drawer in their suite for an hour. And then housekeeping came in and started vacuuming! So much for sleeping in after a grueling 10-hour drive to get here. Also, I don't see the hype about the Sleep Number beds that probably struck a deal with Hilton to be in all Garden Inns - at the end of the day they're just air mattresses. read more

We upgraded from the Guesthouse Inn and Suites across the street when we were greeted there with eyerolls and a "who do you think we cater too? Customers?" attitude. We called the Hilton Garden Inn and told them that we were stuck in a pickle. That we needed a hotel to be able to hold our bags and a late check out. Not a very uncommon request, but Guesthouse Inn was not having it. The Hilton took our last minute reservation and allowed a late checkout of 2:30pm ... I think they felt sorry for us. From the get go the place was welcoming and it even smells good! Comfy beds, great service, good location. We should have shelled out the extra 80 bucks a night more to stay here from the beginning, but we were trying to pinch pennies. Sometimes service trumps pennies though. #ontoursince2008 read more

I agree with the prior review from Sarah S. that gave this place a one-star. I am Hilton Diamond member and have stayed at way too many Hilton properties all over the small world. While everything is nice and new at this place, the staff really needs to be trained a lot better. If I walked in at around dinner time on a Sunday evening with a rollerboard (luggage) and a heavy briefcase and stepped right up to the front desk, I really should not be hearing from the front desk person asking "May I help you?" Seriously!? Do I look like I was there to ask for directions or sell pencils!? Or do I look like I was there to apply for a job!? What else would someone looking like me with luggage be there for other than to check in for the night!! How about something like "How was your travel today?" or simply "Thank you for coming to Hilton!" I was at the Bangkok Conrad last month for 10 nights and by the second night, every staff person at the executive lounge addressed me by name. Why can't we train our service industry to deliver good service! The only reason for the extra star is that everything at the business center is free, which I used quite a bit, versus at a full service DoubleTree, Hilton or Conrad. read more

Nice, clean, basic hotel. It's a bit nicer than some of the other hotels in the area it seems. Walking distance to some eateries and right across from a gas station. Our rate was about $129/night in June. There's free coffee and tea in the mornings. Brand name toiletries. Plenty of towels and room space. The TVs work fine, the A/C works (a bit noisy), plenty of parking...no complaints. Front desk staff was efficient and friendly as well. Hopefully I'm not in the area again (it's boring!), but if I were to visit again, I'd book at this hotel! read more

The bathroom was wonderful with a very nice layout and a bathtub that looked so clean I wouldn't have minded taking a bath. Both breakfast and dinner choices were great for a hotel. As a Duck alum, I'm more than familiar with the Eugene/Springfield area. So when we were planning a roadtrip to Portland to see Coldplay, I was determined to spend at least a day in my old stomping grounds. Usually I check in near Franklin Boulevard, "motel row" where parents and potential students stay for easy access to the university. But with only Track Town Pizza and the 5th Street Market on my to-do list, we played the Hotwire lottery and landed the Hilton Garden Inn. The deal was unbeatable, but I wasn't exactly thrilled to be staying in Springfield. Nothing against Eugene's sister city and home of the fictional Simpsons. It just connotes off-the-beaten-path to anybody familiar with the area. You're over the rainbow and on the other side of what's happening, literally and figuratively. Well...I'm happy to report that by Springfield the location actually means NORTH of both Eugene and Springfield. I'm sure it's geographical Springfield but you're really a stone's throw away from everything. Eugene is a funky university town that prides itself on pushing strip-mall development out of the city proper. Lots of businesses are converted houses and older buildings -- typical fast-food franchises and name-brand establishments are notoriously hard to find. That's because they're on the outskirts, which most people either love or hate. With the Hilton, you're blessed with the best of hybrids. You get easy college/5th St. Market/downtown access (by car, we didn't try hoofing it or local transport) AND you can retreat to a literal haven of familiar brands/names if that's your idea of Accidental Tourism. What I LOVE about this permutation of the Hilton is that it feels upscale on a modest budget. From the chocolate chip cookie and warm greeting upon our late arrival, to the soft bed, free wifi and HDTV I felt pampered, especially with our hey-that's-a-tour-shirt itinerary. The space felt clean, new, crisp, perfect. In fact, it was undoubtedly our favorite hotel of the round-trip journey. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat. Again, keep in mind that you're not within earshot of campus if that's what brought you here. My finest recommendation is to grab a Track Town whole wheat crust pizza with pesto sauce plus your favorite toppings and self-deliver it to your room. For weary car travelers as we were, this was a blissful end to a long, long day making our way up to paradise (or close to it) with Chris Martin & Co. at the Rose Garden. read more

The lobby was nice and inviting, with plenty of seating and a cozy gas fireplace, and my room was very spacious and comfortable. Let's just say that finding a moderately priced nice hotel in Eugene is an adventure, but our experience here was great. The modern renovations in the lobby are beautiful, and the fireplace is always lit when you come in for the night after harrowing the wind and rain outside. I stay in hotels often. I live in hotels practically. This one is a gem. A lot of this hotel's rating comes from the fact that its only two years old, but there are a lot of other nice aspects as well. First of all, I like the lobby. Very cozy. A lot of nice little places to sit and relax, drink and eat, or read. They have a meeting room up front and a gas fireplace when u walk in. There is a full bar and restaurant in the evening that serves as as the breakfast spot in the mornings. In the evening they have several local beers on tap and the breakfast is excellent. I like and use the "fitness center" every day I'm here. It has everything you need to get a good workout in. If u have kids, the pool is indoors and attractive looking, but very small. The employees have been fantastic, friendly, helpful and polite. And as a single guy, the women here are easy on the eye too! As for the rooms, I love mine. High ceilings, comfortable adjustable bed, good TV, a microwave and fridge, in room coffee, drycleaning services, and soaps and shampoos that really lather up. I would recommend this hotel to all future friends and coworkers. read more

Good god! Where do I begin? You know, it's unfortunate because this hotel is so clean, and has great amenities. Such potential! Unfortunately the staff is not trained well at all and have little to no attention to detail. The ratings for the Hilton Garden Inn (HGI) are really good. I had to look it up just to see what others have said and it got me to thinking, "how can the ratings be so good when my experiences have, on a scale of traumatic to utopian, been mediocre to crappy?" Well it didn't take long to come to the conclusion that, because I'm a repeat customer, I get to see that the mistakes that are made when visiting aren't one-off occurrences. Unfortunately I have to use the hotel weekly for a business arrangement that is thankfully ending in two weeks, but I've visited the HGI nearly every week for 4 months. Like I said, the place is clean and has great amenities and if you have a forgiving heart then it's a great place to visit but I would not recommend it to anyone, especially if you have to travel to Eugene regularly. read more

As a regular patron of Hilton Garden Inns all over, I've seen the good and the bad. This Hilton Garden Inn quickly ranks as the best I've been to. The place is very new, very clean. The location is easily accessible off I-5 and the parking lot is suitably large (and free). The criticism is really only about the neighborhood; you're surrounded by chain fast food and diners all around so the food options nearby aren't particularly good. The rooms are huge. This is also the only HGI I've been to that does the classic chocolate on the pillow. It's an excellent touch, made better because it's not a mint chocolate (it's milk chocolate) and I don't like the flavor of mint. The rooms are also laid out well. Sometimes, there's the desire to push all the furniture to the corners to make it seem roomy (but it ends up feeling underfurnished). Not so here. Also, the bathrooms are fantastic. A glass, walk in shower with tiled floors and sides. Holy crap! There is a slight criticism of the lighting used in my hotel rooms. The desk and table lamps have all been equipped with high color temperature light bulbs. It makes the room lighting harsh and casts a very uncomfortable blue hue. The bathroom and hallway lights were a warmer color temperature and I ended up using those as much as I could. For those here needing internet access, both AT&T and Verizon 3G are solid. Managed a 3.84 down with AT&T and 1.42 down with Verizon. Verizon LTE is not available nearby and I would recommend avoiding the in-hotel Wi-Fi if possible. Speeds on Wi-Fi are painfully slow. The staff here is incredibly friendly (although they are definitely walking the fine line between pleasantly friendly and sickeningly saccharine). The hotel breakfast's omelette bar made an excellent omelette. I'm not sure if I would enjoy the dining area as much for their evening bar, but it works well for those of us around for business and grabbing a quick breakfast. This is a great HGI. Very much enjoyed my stay and would consider it again if I was passing through the area. read more

So far not super stoked. The front desk was nice enough, and the rooms are normal hotel rooms. The door to my room is like a mosoleum door and is nearly impossible to open. No Joke. There is no freezer in the mini fridge. Well that sucks! Guess my samples will just be lukewarm for my appointments tomorrow since I have no way to refreeze my little ice packs! And the "bar" in the lobby is super uninviting. I was thinking about getting a drink but it is way too bright and uncomfortable looking down there. Not to mention Springfield kind of sucks and there is no good place to eat around here. One bonus- totlaly free wifi and wired internet so I am gonna be yelping all night!! Good thing I have a screw top bottle of wine and a good book!! Update- they were nice enough to take my little cooler full of ice packs and put them in the freezer down there so they get 3 stars instead of 2. read more

Walked in and they told me someone already checked in to my room and asked if someone had already checked in. I told them no, and they kept saying that someone perhaps my friend had checked in already. They couldn't find their obvious mistake, and finally the front desk staff figured out that someone who had a similar name to mine checked in. I don't know how they could mess it up with credit card information? So check in took longer than usual. However, they gave us complimentary breakfast as an apology for the hold up. I agree that the staff has to be trained better. Breakfast is really good, but would be better if they offered complimentary breakfast to everyone. read more

Beautiful hotel, super nice and very helpful staff! We got ready for a wedding here, left the room messy and bride and groom went back to a super clean room with rose petals on the bed too. If I ever need a hotel out of town I'll definitely be going to this chain. Also will recommend to anyone coming into Springfield needing a hotel. We were in Eugene for a family weekend for my daughter at University of Oregon. Upon arrival they gave us a room on the first floor that smelled musty and said they had no other rooms. They offered to upgrade our room at no charge but we would have to wait until the next day since they didn't have one open. We agreed since it was late evening. The next morning we went for breakfast and asked when our room would ready. They said they didn't know about the upgrade. But they would honor it. They put us in a room and it had a strange smell to it. After each night we returned to the room the smell would get slightly stronger. Since we would be gone all day and we were not sure what the smell was, we didn't complain. By the 3rd night, the smell was cat urine. We called the front desk to ask if animals are allowed in the rooms and they said only service dogs. They offered to credit one night and move our room but it was our last night. The manager even tried to insinuate that we were just looking for a discount for all nights. They had house keeping come up and spray Lysol which helped until the dampness of the spray reached the padding below the carpet and the smell worsened. Here's some pics we took of the horrible carpet. Too bad you can't smell the pictures because it was 10 times worse. I will never stay here again. This is a very nice hotel. The rooms are a good size and clean. The mattresses are cool as you can adjust the firmness. Wi-fi is free and the connection is good (when will all hotels start doing this?). The hotel is also very close to some restaurants and shopping if you have an emergency need. Parking is also good. Services I didn't use included the gym and business center. The location is also convenient. Two pet peeves keep me from giving a higher rating. One is the free tea. The price is right but it tastes like coffee... how hard is it to have an urn that you only use for hot water??? They also have a breakfast buffet (which is good) but the price is a little high for people like myself that just want a little fruit. If you don't care about my pet peeves (and most people probably don't), then this is a great place to stay. read more

I stayed at this HGI when I was in Eugene for business. It is close to downtown, right off the 5. Their lobby has the new upgrade which makes it more conducive to hanging out. They have local beers (Ninkasi, Hop Valley) on tap in the bar so that is another excuse to stay in for the night. Rooms were the standard HGI layout/size and the staff was really nice, even the breakfast wait staff (which seems to be hit or miss in HGI's I've been staying at as of late.) Definitely would stay here again if I was in town for business or needing to stay the night when driving on the 5. read more

Hilton Garden Inn has been my preferred choice to stay the last few months for some reason. I think it's the waffle maker they all have. Nothing like a crispy waffle in the morning before my long days of driving around. This place is about a year old and has a great bar and serves food too 10pm which I didn't have but looked pretty good. Rooms are super clean and oh yeah I like the mattresses they have that I can pick how firm or soft I want the bed. Lots of shopping pretty close in case you forgot anything. read more

Nice relatively new hotel right off I-5 in the Springfield/Eugene area. The pool/spa was nice, but the spa had a lot of chlorine in it. The heat from the spa and the chlorine mixed together to emit fumes the burned your eyes almost immediately after getting in the spa. This is the only complaint. I signed up for the Pacific Northwest Marathon in May of 2018 and they had a special with the Hilton Garden Inn in Springfield/Eugene which was great. The marathon was on September 15th, 2018. When I made the appointment, I asked if I could get an early check-in and late check-out. They said I needed to call closer to the date but that it shouldn't be a problem. I called a week and a day before and they kept telling me to call at different times. I finally called the day of my reservation as they told me to call 30 minutes before we got there. I got the early check-in which was only 30 minutes before my scheduled check-in time so it wasn't too crazy. When I got there I asked if I could get a late check-out and they told me yet again to ask later that evening but it shouldn't be an issue. I called back later that evening down to the front desk and they told me I couldn't get a late check-out. I told them I spoke with several people who told me otherwise and that I was in town for the marathon and didn't know if I would be done before check-out and it would be nice to be able to take a shower. The receptionist just said they don't do late check-out anymore! It would be one thing if that were the case, but we heard someone say, "Thanks for the late check-out!" at the reception desk as we went to my friend's hotel room to say bye. Waste of time and money and if I ever do this race again, I will NOT stay here. There were many other hotels within walking distance and a more reasonable price with friendlier employees. read more

While the looks of the place are great, and the staff is quite professional and capable, the construction of this place is terrible. Our first night, I was able to hear not only the footsteps of the people in the room above ours, but their voices, too. At 1AM I had to have the front desk give the family (with rambunctious youngsters) a call, so I could get some sleep. I appreciated being moved into a different room the next night, and although footsteps were still audible, the party above our room turned in at a reasonable hour, and noise was not a problem. However, two out of three other groups traveling with us reported audible footsteps. We're not just talking pitter-pats here, the construction of this building turns footsteps into kicks on a bass drum -- very loud and resonating. The "pool" and spa are a joke. The pool is only the size of about three spas put side by side, and the pool and spa together fit into a suite-sized room on the first floor. Two walls are glass, so you'll be trying to relax in something akin to a fish bowl. If they hadn't scrimped on the construction, this place would easily rate a 4, even if the price seemed a bit high for the location and the moderate appointments. read more

Newer facility, modern decor in lobby and rooms have a fresh look. Service is friendly, they do make you feel welcome. Located near several shopping areas with variety of restaurants and retailers. The breakfast buffet is $10.95, good variety. Don't go for the pre-made scrambled eggs, they usually sit there for hours since most people take advantage of the made to order omelets/eggs. Free WiFi for up to 3 devices per room. On the night I checked, downloads speeds were sluggish 1.5 MBPS, but at least free. There is a paid Wifi for $4.95 which probably is much faster. read more

Great hotel, but try and avoid during U of O home games. Very clean, well maintained and normally very quiet hotel. Booked top floor room and almost always seemed like we were the only ones on the floor. Staff were very attentive and offered a wide variety of items in the pantry and for breakfast. Well thought out offerings and amenities. Housekeeping staff were thorough and professional. Front desk called almost daily (too much?) to see if they could do anything to make stay more pleasant. No need, we were good. Only hiccup entire four night stay was night of U of O home game. Some drunken Barbie with a high pitched voice in the area did not pipe down until close to midnight. Could not figure out where her hyena shriek/giggle/screams was coming from to call staff to have them put a sock in it. Not their fault, but for $180 a night, hotel should advise guest when they are hosting staff/players involved with game. Players have to behave themselves; a code of conduct clause, why not boosters? We only found out the hotel was hosting players and staff associated with the game by the giant Gatorade coolers and staff were wearing U of O jerseys. As well as access to amenities (like the pool, gym and hot tub) was completely monopolized. Great hotel, and would stay there again, but not during a U of O game. Consider advising potential patrons of hosting so (non-fanatics) have the option of staying elsewhere. BTW, photo of note and earplugs and review below is for Hilton downtown. Traveling from Northern California to Washington with my son, I wanted to find a place to stay that would be comfortable & safe. This Hilton Garden Inn satisfied those requirements and more. After a long day on the road, this hotel is conveniently located right off the freeway, easy to get to and back on I-5 the next day. It's surrounded by restaurants, but we were too tired to go out. After checking in we hit the indoor pool & jacuzzi which was clean, nice and warm, had tons of fresh, clean towels and even a couple of balls to play with ~ still a draw for my teenager. Upstairs we ordered room service and were delivered good, simple meals in about twenty minutes. The hotel is so clean it still looks brand new, the staff was friendly and efficient & I'd stay there again in a heartbeat. read more
