Absolutely terrible experience. Was told my issue would be taken care of and then was completely ghosted. They stopped responding to me and then when they did respond to my negative review, they once again lied to me and made no attempt to contact me or make the situation right. This after admitting the mistake and saying they would do the right thing. Stay away from a dealership that lies and then ghosts you when there's an issue. Scheduled an appointment for an oil change for my 23 MINI Countryman S ALL4 June 19th, 2024. That day has a bit of significance as that was the day the CDK Dealer Management System was hacked and held for ransom. Having been in the auto industry for over 40 years (OEM, dealership fixed and variable ops, Tier 1 supplier, etc.) I understand that issues do happen and the CDK situation was no exception. Where I did have a concern was about four weeks later I notice on my credit card statement a charge from Hilton Head BMW for over $290. Thinking this was an error, when I called the Service Department, was informed that in addition to the oil change they took care of another service of interior air filters - - which I did not expect. I'm very fortunate that money was not the issue, but rather coming in for a simple oil change and receiving a $290 bill was a bit of a surprise... NOTE: I was pleased that the Service Director (Donald Hooks) took the time to reach out and have a constructive conversation about the situation. I will say that the dealership did do quality work and their concern for complete customer satisfaction was appreciated. I think they have earned another shot at my business! read more

Inquired online regarding a used vehicle offered for sale. I was contacted quickly by the staff at Hilton Head and told it was still available for purchase and was promised a vehicle history in the morning. So far so, good. Link to the vehicle report was provided promptly the following morning. Excellent. Decided to purchase and things went south. First, the online sales experience promised was not delivered. After trying to complete the necessary paperwork and uploading documents for almost an hour, I was unable to complete the sale due to a "glitch." After being promised a follow up call from a person in finance to finish the transaction, an hour later I receive a call from finance to tell me quite sheepishly, the car is not available for purchase as it was sold two days ago?????? Really, your sales staff does not know to check whether the vehicle is in stock before replying to a customer? I literally was in contact with three different staff members, before someone actually ran a stock check. Be warned, this is a car dealership that either does not bother to train its staff, or is so inept it cannot keep track of its own inventory. Pathetic. read more

Robby was wonderful, professional, smart, helpful, intelligent, kind, and a people person. Helped me and did it with a smile. KC review: I went to get my Z4's oil changed. She was grumpy, unfriendly, made me feel like she was doing me a favor. I said I also need my keys checked for the recall. She took the keys and didn't acknowledge my existence. Never once smiled, said thank you, or even that she had all the information she needed. She just expected I should have known she was complete with my intake and I should just walk away. I then said "what else from me do you need". She looked at me and was angry I didn't just walk away. She frowned and said "NOTHING". My car was never finished with the oil change that day. The next day I came in and waited for her to look up. The man to her left, said can I help you? I said I need to talk with KC. She didn't look up and continued with the "anyone can help you here, I'm busy". No smile, no professionalism, just started arguing with me when they couldn't find my keys. She said "it wasn't my fault I just turn the keys over to someone else". This was demeaning, angry, and she was doing this all in front of about 4 other customers. One customer jumped out of her short line and said I don't want anything to do with that Woman.... He then said "sorry you had to go through that". The customer!!! That is how bad her service was. How awful she treated me. Please have her management call me. She should be fired immediately. Ask the other employees if they see her treat others customers badly? They saw it all happen to me. Like most people, buying a car isn't something I enjoy doing. The main reason being, I don't think most car salesmen are honest and trustworthy. This was not the case with Romi and the staff at Hilton Head BMW. He was a straight up guy, and he didn't try to b.s. me. Not only did they not make me wait, they drove me to the Tanger Outlet and I did my Christmas shopping while having my oil changed. The washed and vacuumed my car. worst experience of my life! i wasted 6 hours sitting in the lobby for my AC repair and not only did they not fix it, they charged me 350$ for diagnostics. when I got inside the car I saw that they also broke my air vents off then proceeded to gaslight me and tell me they didn't do it. Even when I showed them before and after photos they didn't take any accountability and the General Manager acted like a complete child. Extremely unprofessional and just goes to show how much society has really fallen. these men were completely disgusting and disrespectful. I got a quote to fix my car. They were pricing out a new head gasket and 2 ABS sensors. They quoted me $1,368. I never felt like I was being taken advantage of as I did that day. I just felt something was wrong. I opted not to do it since they said I could drive the car for a while before it was critical to have this work performed. The following week I went to Import Services of the Low Country. They did the computer diagnostics of my car at no charge. At BMW that is a $145 charge if you do not have the work done there. ISLC does this with no commitment. After they looked at everything they called me to tell me what the issues were and quoted me $356. They told me that the head gasket was fine and the problem was a couple of magnesium screws which can lose some strength over time. They torqued them down accordingly and there are no leaks. They said this happens a lot with BMW"s. They feel this will solve the problem for some time and to just keep an eye out for it if it continues. When they checked the two ABS sensors they said one was working properly and only one needed to be replaced. Beware of this dealership as they are trying to sell you something you don't need and charge it for it. read more

I brought my car Thursday Morning, to have my TPMS checked, and small hesitation when my car starts Cold. They keep my car until Saturday. They said was the 2 rear tires sensor batteries are low, well Didn't call me and asked me if I wanted to fixed it, and hesitation still there not fixed. I called it service left message on voicemail and left message with a customer service and still haven't got a call back. I feel like my car was worked when they have extra time only, due to not spending I guess thousands of dollars and is more important to get the high maintenance cost out first. Paid $400 and nothing was fixed and now my vehicle TPMS says INACTIVE. Just because I drive a 2007 BMW 328i e92 Doesn't mean I don't have a new car. I came in to sell my truck to HH BMW and then planned on purchasing a BMW at Carmax in Savannah. After meeting with CJ, and him showing me their used car line-up, I saw a 5 series that I really liked. I still went to Carmax to test drive the vehicle I saved, only to have CJ say to me prior to leaving, "regardless of where you buy a car, I'm here to help you in any way I can". I thought that was very kind to say, and in my opinion, it was what I wanted to hear. I don't like pushy salespeople at all. And that said it all to me. He truly didn't care where I went, he just wanted to help regardless. I decided to Uber my way back to HH BMW and purchase the 5 series. That style of help is not standard, but it should be. He wasn't pushy at all, there were no gimmicks, no hidden fees, no judgements, no bait and switch, etc... And I think I spent 15 minutes (maybe) with the finance director the following day to finalize the deal. Easy process, friendly people, laid back atmosphere. Don't go elsewhere. I bought a certified pre owned car from these guys. Don't make the same mistake. They do they absolute minimum. For them to service something it must be due or past due. Many other BMW stores look forward but, if you are foolish enough to do business with these folks you get only the minimum. Worse yet they don't tell you what they have not done that will quickly become your responsibility. If you must buy from them, make them give you a list of what the vehicle will soon need, like a MAJOR SERVICE. At least that way you can compare their CERTIFIED car to those offered by more responsible dealers. read more

I purchased a 2017 750 one owner car in May 2021. the car had 13,500 miles. The following month, a service came on and indicated I needed a brake fluid flush. I demanded it be taken care of as the car should have been sold fully serviced. a month later, another minor issue arose, not based on mileage, but time since last service. since they sold it new, they had the service records. They quoted 750.00. I went elsewhere for 150.00. shortly thereafter, the oil light came on indicating it needed topping off. I went in and after 4 hours was told there was a major issue with the turbo lines. Quote, 4,200.00. I went elsewhere. 800.00. Elsewhere was H&H Automotive. Two trips to take care of what BMW Hilton Head should have serviced before putting the car on the lot, saved me 4,000.00. read more

I have to rely on an area dealership to service my 2011 128 and 2020 230 convertibles. I've used HHI BMW before for convenience. I'm considering looking into other options based on a simple transaction to replace a key for the 2020 230. I unfortunately went ahead with an order for a replacement comfort access key for $511 plus tax. Staff were pretty dismissive of my price concerns with comments that other mfgrs charge as much (Acura certainly doesn't) and that other cars aren't BMWs (I realize that, but not helpful). Calling around the next day (before realizing key order couldn't be cancelled) I found that HHi prices the key at least $100 higher than other area dealers and also charges more to program the keys. I'll look into other dealers/ service options in the future. read more

I truly wanted to like this dealership as it presents itself so convincingly. Sadly, I have found absolutely zero redeeming qualities about it. I first went there when I had my BMW that needed service about 7 years ago. It was actually better then, but, has gone so far down hill, unfortunately. And If you are a woman, they treat you like a complete ignorant. The service department is filled with loud, abrasive men who spent much of their time during my last visit, laughing out loud and obnoxiously telling each other jokes and God know what else. I sat there in the waiting lounge completely perplexed that no one said anything to them about this?? However, that was nothing compared to the both times I have been there for service in the last 6 months, only to be told that "my car was unsafe to drive, inferior, and who in the world sold me this car"? I had not purchased my car from them, so, I guess it just made sense for them to rip it to shreds. The first time, they told me it was completely unsafe and quoted me some ridiculous charge to fix it. Well, I took it to another reputable mechanic who fixed it for 1/3 of what they said, and, told me it would have still been safe to drive for a while. I went there this week and same thing. I only went to verify some information and get a diagnostic test run. Well, again I was told by someone different (although he had conferred with the previous head tech) that it was so horribly unsafe and I shouldn't even drive it off the lot. To which they also added I should trade it in right then for another similar vehicle that they had "just gotten in". When they finally realized I wouldn't be trading it in, all of a sudden the tune changed. Suddenly my car wasn't as unsafe as they stated and I just needed to drive it carefully for a while till I got it serviced. What a bunch of _____!! I mean really! I am so disgusted with this place and it is a shame truly. I have been a product specialist for BMW in the past for many years and even traveled the nation representing them at major auto shows. I was there when they opened the new plant in Spartanburg, along with the SC Governor and the heads of BMW. I've even gotten to meet many of the designers and suppliers of this beautiful car. They don't know this at Hilton Head BMW, but it shouldn't even matter who I am. They should treat everyone equally!! I have loved the BMW for many years. However, they really need to raise the level of their dealerships and hire people of integrity who can represent an expensive car in a professional and courteous manner (regardless if you are a woman, a man, a who knows what)! However, they offered me about 75% on my trade versus the other two dealers and were not willing to match at all. So, there was no point in even starting to talk about the price of the new car.
