Everything about our stay started out great. The view was beautiful, and the room itself was very nice. Unfortunately, our experience took a major turn when my family and I tried to take a nap in the middle of the day. We were completely surprised to discover that the resort was undergoing major renovations from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM -- a full eight hours a day -- from August 1 through December 17. The tower we were placed in was apparently the first section undergoing a three-level renovation. The construction noise was so loud that none of my family, including myself, was able to get any sleep. What made this even more frustrating was the lack of communication. When we checked in, nobody mentioned the renovations. There was no clear warning from reservations, check-in staff, or signage at the property. When we complained, we were told, "Did you get the email? It says it in the email." We went back and checked the email, and while the information may technically have been there, it was buried in extremely small print with no highlighting, warning, or indication that we were going to be staying in a tower undergoing major construction for eight hours a day. This is not the kind of information that should be hidden in fine print. It should be clearly communicated before or at check-in so guests can make an informed decision about their stay. We were also told to check the website. However, we are Hilton Grand Vacations Club members, and we shouldn't have to independently search a website to discover something as significant as major construction at the property. If the information is important enough to affect a guest's entire stay, the reservation system, website, check-in staff, and property management should all be communicating the same information clearly. I also tried contacting management to discuss the situation, but unfortunately, my calls were not answered. I understand that renovations are sometimes necessary, but guests deserve to know about major construction before they arrive, especially when it takes place during normal daytime hours for eight hours a day and directly affects their ability to relax and sleep. The room and view were great, but the lack of communication and the constant construction noise made this a very disappointing experience for my family. Better communication and transparency could have made a huge difference.

We found a killer deal to stay here for $239/night in July and had to take advantage! The room was great. We were able to hangout in the living area at night, enjoy some meals in the room, and I loved the huge bathroom. The kitchen doesn't have an oven/range top but there is a microwave and they do have a plug-in skillet type of appliance you could cook on. I love that they provide cleaning supplies for laundry and doing dishes. The laundry is free and there are machines on every floor. I also appreciate that they provide coffee. We enjoyed a cup in our room every morning. This location is awesome. You can enjoy both the pool and the ocean. It's super walkable to several areas nearby. You're also able to bring your own drinks to the pool, which is great. We took advantage of their Happy Hour one day, but the drinks were still $12 each. I love the boardwalk near the hotel. We walked that several mornings to enjoy a view of the beach while still getting exercise. It goes for a pretty good distance! Parking is free at the hotel. We were told Hilton will be renovating this entire building soon- once permits are approved. I'm sure it will be gorgeous. The exterior does feel a bit outdated. The pink could definitely use some sprucing up. As well as the blue tile everywhere. The staff working here are very friendly! We enjoyed everyone we met.

Gosh we had stayed here many moons ago, so it was kinda nice revisiting. Parking was located underground across from check in. As a Hilton timeshare owner, we were upgraded to an ocean view room, which was absolutely amazing! The room was very outdated, but the fact that we could sleep with an open balcony door listening to the waves crash on the beach, made up for it. Our room was located in a corner on a special floor, it wasn't easily accessible. The resort had a breakfast buffet and a few places to pick up fast easy meals, but all were not worth it. A food truck lot sat right in front of the resort area- many food options. But, across the street , you'll find a few casual restaurants and a local supermarket. Remember, being in a resort area...nothing is cheap. This Hilton has a large pool, but be aware there are a many lounge chair hoarders that place their towels early to save spots. Ugh, it should be illegal lol They've got a very nice large hot tub area, it was welcomed after a long hiking day. There's an awesome massage area near the pool, where they've got the most awesome massueses. We booked, and it was well worth it. There is beach access and a small walking trail, before you hit private access. Miniature golf area- I can't imagine playing here as it is sooooo windy. Ka'anapali is known for being located on the windiest side of the island. I had the best ube cocktail during happy hour! Note: Can NOT cast apps to their television!!! Overall, good experience.

Awesome stay! Front desk was very nice and helpful. We arrived early since we had an early flight and they offered us to go to a king bed 1 sofa bed since it was ready or we could wait for 2 double beds and we took the room that was ready. We actually didn't know the rooms were suites. We booked on a third party hotel website and it didn't even state that it was a suite, so we were shocked when we went to our room. The room and bathroom were very spacious. The kitchen in the room came with all kinds of things, utensils, cooking equipment (toaster, cooking steamer,glassware,etc..) plates, cups , etc.. there is even a dishwasher! There is also washer and dryers on each floor. The pool and hottub are also amazing! We enjoyed using them. 2 hot tubs a pool, a kiddy pool, a waterfall pool, and a slide. They have a bar and food court by the pool as well. When you check in you get pool towel cards so don't lose those! You trade them in for towels and then once you're done you return the towels and get the cards back. They also have a mini golf course that we played on, super fun! There is an activity room for other things to do. We were given a welcome package from by conceirge, shell leis, a packet of the activities that will be going on during the week, local foods, and gave us some excursion idea. 1 thing we didn't like, was the beach. We tried snorkeling and we just couldn't see anything and the waves are rocky. But that's not the hotels fault! We just enjoy being by black rock since it's a perfect snorkel spot. But we were able to just drive over to black rock which wasn't a problem at all! Overall, we enjoyed our stay here and already planning our next trip and probably will be staying here again!

I'd give it a solid 3 and a half stars but not quite four. So it's a bit dated on the outside somewhere between Barbie Dream House and Miami Vice with the pink and white exterior. It's not luxe or grand but it is comfortable and if you stay in someone's unused timeshare it's a good value depending on when you stay and how you book. The suite is comfortable and it was crisp and clean with a clean and nicely made bed. This is a huge deal to me. The shower did have a leak but the bathroom was gigantic and had all the bells and whistles. Private toilet closet, two sinks, bathtub and a shower. It also came with a blow dryer, ample towels and attached shampoo and conditioner. The kitchen was trickier and they could definitely update appliances to stainless to improve the interior look. It had a raised griddle sort of cooking top to use which was alright for making bacon but consider this if you're wanting to make foods in suite. Theres a toaster, but no oven. Water kettle, coffee machine, typical plates silverware and even a tiny tiny salt and pepper shaker. The view was nice even for not being ocean. Parking was a bit tight but included and still available just took a little looking. Laundry was free which is awesome and even included some laundry detergent in the bathroom drawer. The downside was that it was a long walk and a few floors up to get to a an available machine which are not so well kept one dryer didn't dry whatsoever so watch out. The place felt kind of dead walking around but has some peak times. The pool is nice but finding a few chairs was also at times tricky. If you stay here bring any pool things you might need such as tanning oil or sun hats because they can be way pricy at the towel shack. Here you also exchange cards for fresh towels and it's almost on a sort of honor system to give and get the cards and fresh towels. The resort is a skip away from the beach but not the best beach and also close to lots of food places in walking distance. It's a good place for what we paid but I'm not sure id stay here again compared to other hotels in the area.

I've been holding off writing this review because I wanted to make sure I get everything correct. I found this place on Airbnb a few months before I was planning a trip to Maui. It was a great choice because it was right on the water and was close to other shopping centers and restaurants. The Airbnb stated there was an additional hundred dollars that we needed to pay once we arrived on the property. I'm assuming that this fee was to cover the Wi-Fi and the parking which wasn't bad. If you're used to Vegas you're used to paying resort fees. The parking garage is pretty big and a few levels and there's access from the garage into the hotel itself. The resort itself is super big and you can drive up to the front where the employee's help you with your bags and your Costco items. I went up to the check-in counter and talked with a nice employee who helped me check in. I booked the room with a scenic view and that's exactly what I got. Even though I asked politely about an upgrade and didn't get it. Our room was on the fourth floor and a what was pictured on Airbnb was exactly what we received. The price for the Airbnb wasn't bad at all since these are all timeshares and I think these people did not pick their weeks so they sell on Airbnb at a very inexpensive price. The room itself had a kitchen with all the utensils. You needed a dining area that sat for a living room area with a TV and there were two double doors that went into the bedroom. The bed itself was a king band and comfortable. I wish it was just a little bit softer, but for Hilton it was good. The room was very clean and the bathroom was very large with a soak in tub. They provide you with all the things you need for a shower and bath, shampoo, conditioner, soap, and body wash. The room itself is very large and spacious. There is a huge balcony that you can enter from the living room and the bedroom. I would say that these rooms and the hotel itself is a little outdated and could definitely need a sprucing up into this generation. You can tell that it was remodeled maybe in the early 2000's and definitely need an upgrade. The grounds itself are very well kept gorgeous and beautiful. The pool itself looks like something from the Bahamas. The place itself is very pink. The resorts location is super close to the ABC store, a grocery store and multiple restaurants. There is even a food truck area that is open daily and has an assortment of different options. The only reason I'm not giving this place five stars is because one, being a Hilton I would expect a little bit more service such as early check-in and or late check-out. I called down stairs and was just asking and she said unfortunately they were booked, which was a complete lie. They seem to really wanna push you out of the resort. The other thing that happened there was a maid that randomly walked in when we were getting packed and ready to leave. It wasn't even time to check out yet and she just walked right in. Again this place seems like they wanna kick you out and there's a whole bunch of timeshare people. I definitely would not pay for Hilton prices for barely any service. That's why I would definitely go through Airbnb maybe very last minute to see if I would get the same price.

Jules and her staff were absolutely amazing. We have been coming here for almost 10 years and the fact that they can still exceed every expectation is fantastic. We are truly grateful for the way they handle every situation. Truly our home away from home.

This place is home away from home for us. We are always treated like family by their awesome staff. The front desk team are all amazing from Lorna who checked us in, to Jules, the best manager onsite. She took a weird room situation and fixed it immediately for us. Can't thank her enough for her help. Onsite restaurant is pretty great - food is yummy and the new dinner specials are great. Everything is easy to take either poolside or to a table or to your room. You can get some food at the bar too! The bar staff might be the best people around - Tony, Rhey, Felix - all super awesome and really attentive. They also have great recs for the island! Thanks for such an awesome time.

My first time in Maui was absolutely amazing, I was worried since there were hurricane warnings but the weather finally cleared up. My room was a suite with a mini kitchen, living room, large bathroom with massive tub and a king bed. There was a thermostat to adjust the temperature of the room and a fan over the bed for extra air. Plenty of towels, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, lotion, laundry detergent and dish soap provided. Room was very clean. Unfortunately I did find a couple of bugs crawling around in the bathroom. The beach is right outside the pool area and is extremely easy to get to. Bar is open 10am- 10 pm and food window is open 8am to 8pm. Prices are decent for what you are getting but keep in mind there are grocery stores local and a grill outside if you prefer to cook and eat your own food. Staff were always so warm and welcoming. Bartenders were outstanding (Dave, Tony and Ray just to name a few). Although some may say it's dated I adore the 80s look and feel, they are always upgrading infrastructure and repainting. I adored my stay! Oh and there is a small area to smoke right next to the grills on the side closest to the beach.

Stayed here again in Feb 2024. Always enjoy our stay. I should clarify my earlier review try at the paved beach path ends at Honua Kai resort, two buildings down, but an easy walk on paved sidewalk. We enjoy how relaxed and quiet this resort is compared to others, with a spacious pool, lots of poolside lounges, and a nice adjacent pool bar. However, we like lounging on the beach to watch the whales and this timeshare doesn't have many beach front lounges. The individual rooms also don't include beach chairs or snorkel gear although you can rent or purchase this equipment. We would definitely stay there again, but do wish the rooms had full kitchens and in-room washer and dryers.

We had a wonderful spring break week at the Hilton Vacation Club Ka'anapali Beach. This place has it all: comfortable rooms, an easily accessible beach, an oceanfront bar, a great swimming pool, spas, and barbecues. I'm not normally one to say this, but staying at the resort was just as enjoyable as going out and doing activities on the island. We spent more time than usual here just relaxing. While the building design is straight out of the 1980s and definitely shows its age, the facilities are all well maintained and clean. The rooms were spacious and had a small kitchenette that allowed for some light meal prep. The balconies were long and offered pretty good views. Hotel staff were generally friendly, responsive, and accommodating. We used lots of towels and made many requests that were satisfied right away without too much hassle. The downstairs cafe and bar had tasty food and pretty good drinks available. While none of it was cheap, it also was not bad quality. The swimming pool is borderline huge, with waterfalls and a slide, and two hot tubs. The pool is heated in the evening and while the temperature was a bit cool during the day it was still enjoyable. The kids really had a good time with it. There is also an adults only spa. The oceanfront bar is a perfect place to enjoy a drink and watch the beautiful sunset. The deck is raised so you can see over the fence and bushes and watch it clearly. We enjoyed a few sunsets this way. Finally, the beach is small but there is a boardwalk in each direction which allows for further exploration and access to other beaches to the south. Of course it is the classic Hawaii beach with perfect sand and beautiful water. Every now and then a turtle or seal will visit. There's also a small area to go snorkeling at that same beach and although the water can be a little bit rough, there are some interesting things to see out there. Overall five stars and would visit again! Aloha!

When we arrived, our villa contained power tools, dirty dishes, and had clearly not been properly prepared for guests. What was even more frustrating was that it took three separate face-to-face visits with both the front desk and management before the room was finally cleaned. Communication throughout the process was poor, and we never felt that anyone took real ownership of the issue. The only compensation offered was a $50 resort credit, which did not reflect the inconvenience or the time we spent trying to resolve a problem that should never have existed. Beyond our room, both the villas and many of the common areas felt worn, dingy, and lacking the level of care we have come to expect from the Westin brand. The most disappointing aspect of our stay wasn't simply the condition of the property--it was the apparent lack of urgency and concern from management. We have always associated Westin with quality, service, and attention to detail. Unfortunately, this experience fell well below those expectations. We hope management takes these concerns seriously because loyal owners and guests deserve much better.

Only 20 min walk all the way to Black Rock, the furthest beach away in the cove. Quick drive out to Highway 30. Easy, and I mean easy access to Lahaina (south) and Honolua or Kampala Bays (north). Choose if you want to shop grocery at Times or Safeway, same distance. Really perfect location. Our apartment was incredible. It didn't face the ocean but that's ok. They have some that do, or the pool. It was huge. Nicely decorated and clean. Lots of space. Two bedrooms and sofa bed. Foosball table. Beach stuff to borrow and even a wagon to haul stuff. Parking garage right there. Always found an open space. Bell hops were helpful and friendly. They got nice gym, clay tennis courts, swimming pool, hot tub, and BBQ grills. All well kept. I could go on but why? It was great condo to stay.

We had a nice stay here celebrating my birthday and my husband and I's wedding anniversary. Our…read moreroom wasn't ready when we checked in so they actually upgraded us to a nicer room -- very nice gesture! We were also situated at the Moana building which was definitely the best spot at the hotel because you get the full view of Black Rock and the ocean rather than the resort grounds. Highly recommend getting a room in that section. Additionally, they gave us champagne, chocolates, and a personalized card for our anniversary! The lobby had such amazing views. We also loved the pool. Lots of pool seats available unlike other hotels. I guess it helps that it's at the end of the strip so you don't really have as much crowds coming through. We grabbed some snorkel gear to explore Black Rock and it was full of marine life. What a beautiful spot (I grew up on an island myself and will tell you it's a legit snorkeling experience). The food and beverage options were limited. Breakfast was pretty pricey so we decided to go elsewhere to try a little bit of everything for meals which we were planning to do anyway. We did get food at the pool bar - karaage chicken and fries were so good! We went back for the fries and got a fruit smoothie. One downside is that since the Moana building was at the end of the property so we had to take several elevator rides through the hotel just to get to the lobby. That was fine since it encouraged us to get our steps in but could be frustrating. All in all a wonderful experience!

It sits on a quieter stretch of Ka'anapali Beach, so it never feels as crowded as some of the neighboring resorts. It is also right next to Black Rock, which means you can skip paying for a snorkeling tour and simply walk over yourself. We snorkeled there three times and saw sea turtles every single time. If you are lucky enough to get upgraded to an ocean view room, the sunsets are absolutely stunning and worth looking forward to every evening. The downsides are hard to ignore. The rooms are definitely dated, although they were very clean. The restaurants on site are expensive and the food was average at best. Breakfast costs nearly $50 per person, and the buffet was nothing special. For what the resort charges, I expected a much better dining experience. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. One tip: reserve your poolside cabana online before you arrive because they often sell out. If you can book this property using points (good redemption of course), I think it is worth it. If you are paying cash, I believe there are better values elsewhere in Maui. Overall, we had a pleasant stay, but it did not live up to its price tag.

Our partial ocean view was exactly what the pictures showed on the website. A microwave or toaster would be a great item to add to the rooms, or at least near the vending machines on each floor. Beach access- BEAUTIFUL. so close. Constant views. The beach is seconds away from the resort. Maui brewing co also has ocean front views and was super nice for sunset. Resort- the pool was cleaned every morning and always warm. Plenty of seating options around the pool and around the resort in general. The vegetation was really nice. All staff were SO kind. The grounds always seemed clean and relaxing. Cultural classes- absolute favorite part of our trip. We had so much fun learning about the Hawaiian culture through story telling, history, garden walks, lei ceremony, lei making, and wood carving. Overall we had such an amazing experience, learned so much, and had constant beautiful views. Only complaint is that I wish there were more food options at our resort, or microwaves. Maui Brewing Co was okay, but limited. Whalers Village is a quick walk and has a variety of options.

There's the popular outdoor mall, Whaler's Village about a 5 minute walk away with restaurants and shops, just follow the beach path. LUGGAGE STORAGE (1/5): We arrived a bit early and the staff held onto our luggage while we went out to get food. I didn't see where it was taken. I did not realize that they would store our luggage outside in the humidity!!! I thought they would store it inside the hotel in a closet in the back. I had temperature-sensitive medication in my luggage and when we came back to check-in, I was shocked to find our luggage stored outside. Had I known that, I would have asked them to store my meds in the fridge for me. Thankfully, my meds were okay in the end, but it did give me panic. PARKING (5/5): Since we booked through Costco, the parking was included with our stay. We had in/out privileges and no valet required. STAFF (5/5): I forgot her name, but she welcomed us very friendly and checked us in. Michelle I think was her name. We asked about local places to eat and she kindly wrote us a list. The housekeeping staff was also very nice and always greeted us in the halls. SHUTTLE/TROLLEY (5/5): There's a free green trolley that will take you to Whaler's Village and came around every 30min or so (check the schedule) and will also drop you off at nearby hotels along the beach, not just the Outrigger. Also, the hotel has it's own private shuttle that will follow the same route within the resort grounds if you don't want to wait for the trolley. Again, they don't exit the resort. One night we went to a nearby hotel (The Bungalos) for a music event but had just missed the trolley and the guys out front said they could drive us in the hotel van. And then gave us a number to call them when we were ready to go back to the hotel, so we called them but wanted to go to dinner at Whaler's Village after and they took us. So so convenient. really nice guy! It's complimentary but we tipped our driver and he was always so kind! We read in the handouts that they did a special going-away ceremony at the end of your stay but unfortunately we had to miss it to catch our early flight, so Michelle was kind enough to give us the necklace and do a mini version for us there at the check-out counter. POOL (1/5): We didn't even try the pool. It's quite small in size, and it was so hot, and no shade anywhere, so we didn't bother. They did provide towels though that you could swap out and stuff, so we used those and just went to the beach. RENTALS: There's a hut on-site where you get the towels, but also offers rental stuff for the water, beach chairs, etc. Note: the beach chairs + umbrella rentals are quite steep, I think was like 2 chairs + 1 umbrella almost $85 and had to return by 5pm. We ended up going to Costco and instead and bought 2 tommy bahama chairs and umbrella and used them the whole week while we were there, and even used our chairs at other places too. We saved some money that way and used that money instead to tip the staff and buy food in Maui b/c it ain't cheap! ACTIVITY SCHEDULE: We were given a print-out at check-in with activities throughout the week, however we showed up to one of them and there was nothing going on but there was a gentleman there. We were told that the print-out was outdated so we had missed the activity since it was earlier in the week. So don't go off the print-out. He had a different schedule available at his table. So..there's that. Overall, I would not mind staying here again but would be interested in staying at the other hotels along the Kanapali beach.

They replaced our mattress after we said something but it didn't fix the issue. When we laid down, we always felt like where laying way back like toward the headboard, feet higher than our head. It may have been a bed frame issue. It wasn't the worst, we just ended sleeping the other way. You have to call housekeeping to get service. That was super easy and they did a great job. Master bathroom was nice, the other 2 bedrooms were both identical. We did notice the one furthest down the hall was warmer than the others. Full bath off the other 2 bedrooms was massive and had washer/dryer combo. Our lanai was amazing. Nice and big and had a spectacular view that overlooked the walking path and the beach/ocean. I will note there were a lot of wasps that were building nests but they left us alone for the most part. Pool- We stayed June 27-July 6, it was fairly busy. You have towel cards that allow you to get resort towels. You can exchange these towels whenever you want during the day for either towel cards or fresh towels. *TIP* before you leave the pool for the day turn in your towels in for new ones so you have them early. Towel hut doesn't open until 8. Pool chairs- In the morning until noon chairs are monitored. If you leave your stuff they come around and tag it. If you aren't there when they come back, they take your stuff to the towel area and keep it there for you to pick up. This helps prevent chair saving. There were a few incidents where we got chairs and then we had an awkward encounter with someone whose belongings had been removed by staff (we didn't know because when we arrived the chairs were empty). There were also times when I left to take a child to go to the bathroom and came back and my chairs had been tagged, which was annoying but not an issue. I just gave them the tag back when they came back. People will still save seats- you just kind of have to have someone stay with it until people from your group arrive. We did notice that some people that were using the pool/ chairs were not actual guests of the resort. They had non resort towels. One family even told us they just walk along the walk way and then decide which resort pool to spend time at. There's no wristbands so I'm not sure how they really can enforce it. It was very frustrating on 4th of July. It seemed there were MANY people at the pool and grill area that were not actually staying at the resort. Pools are nice. They get warmer throughout the day and kind of cloudy from everyone's sunscreen. We saw a piece of poop floating one day and we're super grossed out by that. They have a nice splash pad/shallow area for the kids and a "pebble bottom" pool with small water slide for kids as well. Pool bar restaurant is over priced and not very good. Apparently there's some sort of soda pads you can buy. We didn't do it but I overheard people talking about it. They have activities free and paid through the days. Just check the schedule. We only did the fish feeding one. 2x a week there was a little market set up along the walking path. There's a bin that people put things like floaties, boogie boards, sand toys that they bought but are not taking back home with them. It's by the pool. We got so many things from there: pool noodles, sand toys, boogie boards etc. it was my son's favorite adventure. He would check 2x a day. When we were done with the things at the end of our trip, we put them in the bin so others could enjoy them too! Really awesome idea and saved us a bunch of $$ not having to buy a ton of stuff. Beach- The beach was nice. There are chairs you can rent. It gets pretty windy. The waves weren't too bad during our visit. Snorkeling is literally right off the beach. There's a pretty steep drop off right away. We saw so many colorful fish, sea turtles. Saw dolphins from our lanai one morning as well as sting rays! One day a Monk seal came up on the beach which was cool to see! We spent most days at the pool. Housekeeping/ maintenance: Our son unfortunately had a little too much sun, pool water and sea water and threw up one night. He's little and terrified of throwing up. He missed the toilet and then the realization that we had no cleaning supplies and it was midnight hit us. We called the front desk and they sent two angels (very quickly) who would not let me clean it no matter how many times I asked to clean it. They cleaned it up and made sure everything was disinfected. I felt so bad but they were very reassuring and kind. We had some shower head issues in the master and the other bathroom. We called and within 20 minutes they were at our room and had it fixed. Same with a flusher issue. They were so quick to come and solve the issue. It was a wonderful vacation and we enjoyed it so much!

I am not really a resort guy so I can't speak to the pool or other services here. I am all about the beach. This hotel has an incredible one. There is a coral reef right there! It offers you the chance to do incredible snorkeling any time right outside your room. I had an amazing sea turtle encounter! You are supposed to stay ten feet away from them and not be above them. They only post that warning in one spot. I wish I had seen that sign before running into the little dude as I definitely passed over him. It was really special and we've got to respect these incredible animals! The reef isn't the only way the hotel really lets you experience some of the island on site. The Big Wave shaved ice in the lobby is also some of the best you can have. As far as the rooms, in addition to stoves and washer/dryer, Westin beds are always exceptional. The staff here was also beyond on point. The parking valet was super quick and whenever I needed a quick item from the pantry the front desk handed it right over. I would come back here in a second. I was hoping to stay in the Napili Tower, mainly because I liked the pool area better--longer, more spread out, and largely oceanfront. That said, the Lahaina Tower ended up having its own perks. The biggest one is that it's right next to the self-parking structure that's used for the whole resort, which makes coming and going incredibly easy. If you're staying in the Napili tower, self-parking is all the way on the other side and I would recommend using valet instead to save you the walk. Our room was spacious and comfortable, technically "oceanfront," though it felt more like oceanview. Still, no complaints--the view was lovely, and the room itself had a convenient kitchenette with a fridge, sink, and all the basics (plates, utensils, etc.), which made snack time quick and easy. The Lahaina Tower also has its own smaller pool area, plus a few fun extras like ping pong and foosball. It's also right by Longhi's, if you're looking for an easy meal. If you want more action, the main pool area--with the large, winding pool and additional dining options--is just a short walk away. The weather during our stay wasn't the best--it was actually pretty chilly by Maui standards following the heels of two major storms--but we still had a great time. Between the comfortable room, convenient location, and easy access to everything on property, it made for a relaxed and low-effort getaway. While the resort may not be the newest, we really like the main pool area. I'll definitely opt for the Lahaina/Napili towers again next time. This is a great resort, especially for families looking for a laid-back Maui stay with nice views and plenty to do.

But, the hotels response was ridiculous! 3 strips of outlets run by an electric generator for a hotel with 3 towers of rooms is unsat. They ran out quickly before someone figured out they should switch to a gas generator. That morning, they told us to get coffee from Starbucks, but walking there in the dark we found Starbucks not even open. The maintenance guy called food and beverage to put out some complimentary coffee but that never arrived. So we spent the day in Kīhei while they figured stuff out here in Kaanapali. After the entire day, we made it back and only the smallest of the three pools was able to be turned on, with far too many people in it then the next message we get is that there's an issue with HVAC, so we spent the night sweating instead of sleeping since the ventilation was blowing warm air. And opening your room window just let in hotter more humid air. Needless to say the maintenance team didn't have the skills to get their ship righted and we paid for it in discomfort. The front desk staff likely took the brunt of the heat, but they didn't seem to field the complaints very well judging by the several exchanges I watched while waiting in line for 13 minutes with only 1 clerk for a line that started with 2 that grew to 9. No urgency or backup at the counter so the audience grew while we all witnessed complaining and a poor response by the staff. The views are amazing though!
