We've ordered to go from this place almost weekly since it showed up on UberEats because it's some of the best Indian food we've found. Their butter chicken, lamb biryani, and butter lobster special are our new go-tos. The sag paneer, samosas, and pakoras are also excellent. None of the sauces are greasy, the meat apportionment is generous, and they pay attention to the level of spiciness requested. However, my favorite is the butter chicken. The service is quick; it usually takes about 25 minutes for the food to be ready, but it's often done even faster. We went for lunch with a friend who is a professional chef and he was equally impressed. Two of us ordered entrees at the "medium" spice level and we thought it was perfect. We have been waiting for this restaurant to open for a while now and it did not disappoint! We were finally able to dine there tonight. The employees were all super friendly. We had the Vegetable Samoas for an appetizer and they were the best I have had. For dinner, we had butter chicken spicy and the methi malai chicken spicy. Both were fabulous and the naan was done to perfection! We will definitely be going back! Happy Stafford finally has another yummy option! read more

Place just opened a couple days ago and the demand for good Indian food was apparent when we visited. The takeout line was several people deep but we were still seated quickly. Reservations are available through their website as well. There were some small delays with getting the food ordered, (we expected this since they just opened) but once the food arrived any trivial concerns with time, timeliness or what my purpose is in life disappeared. The food was fantastic! Large portion sizes, absolutely amazing buttered naan (I could only eat this for a meal and die happy) as a side and the spice temperatures seemed appropriate for what we ordered. No one in our group was brave enough to go above hot... Every dish we had was delish! I strongly recommend visiting this restaurant. They have another location in Fredericksburg where most of us have had to travel to in order to assuage our need for quality Indian food, but finally getting one in Stafford is guaranteed to make my waist line expand! Waited like a year for them to open near me! Just happy to have an Indian restaurant in Stafford, however didn't expect the quality of food I experienced! The Methi Malai Chicken a complex dish with fenugreek as the star was nothing short of spectacular!! The spicy creamy sauce was the best mix of spices plus so much sauce and chicken, I ate it for lunch and dinner too. The delightful smell hits you before you even walk into the restaurant. Is clean it is friendly and it definitely was needed in the Stafford area. Taj Indian Cuisine is finally in Stafford! It's nice to have South Asian restaurant in Stafford again, but even better because the food was excellent- even through a delivery app! I had the Aloo Tikki for starter (VERY good!) and Methi Malai Chicken entree. First off, I haven't had Methi Chicken since Diamond of India closed. Few restaurants in this area have carried it as a regular menu item, so seeing it on the menu...nothing else was considered. It was FANTASTIC! I also ordered the Onion Kulcha which I think I would really love in the restaurant, but it did not hold up well in delivery. It was sort of oily and mushy, but had good flavor. I also ordered the Mango Lassi. It looked great, but it was delivered in a cup with an open top and I am weird about drinking or eating things that aren't closed and sealed by the restaurant. Near to 30$ per dish without any sides, and smallish plate at that. Also, please please please, owners - need a better solution for water. It tasted horrendous. The food was delicious but I couldn't figure out what I was eating. We ordered online and picked it up.The online menu food descriptions need to be much better. The website needs to be improved. The signature kabob..... we got nothing that looked even close to the photo online. We didn't even know what kind of meat to expect from the website. The receipts on the bags were of no help and they didn't list the costs. The containers of food weren't labeled. There were 2 thumb-sized inedible pieces of hard peel (?) in one of the condiments. Is that normal? I'm not familiar with Indian food and it was delicious but I don't think I got what I ordered. There was no way to tell. I'm not going back again until the website performs better, the food is better described online, and the containers are labled. I've been waiting for months for this restaurant to open. The chef knows what they are doing but the management of the rest of it is pretty poor. read more
