We passed through Casper on our way to Yellowstone several years ago. We had a hankering for Vietnamese food, but that restaurant had closed. So the desk clerk told us about the Himalayan Indian Cuisine. The best Indian food I have ever had. If I had not been in polite company, I would have licked the bowl the Dal came in, all buttery and yummy. Find your way to that basement and it won't disappoint. read more

This place has some of the best Indian cuisine I've had in my travels and some of my best friends are from India. The family that owns the restaurant is from Nepal and came here when it was devastated by earthquake so you can't get much more authentic. Plus the upside is you can try Nepalese/Himalayan cuisine. I love all the bhutuwa. Best of all, as someone with a sensitive palate and GI tract, when I ask for no spice or mild they cater to my needs and give me something delicious even if lacking in curry. Just passing through Casper we visited Himalayan Indian Cuisine for dinner. We have eaten in many Indian restaurants and have been to India several,times. The food here is authentic and delicious. Excellent tandoori chicken, aloo paratha, and fluffy basmati rice. Kingfisher beer and spicy pickle - perfect complements. The service was prompt and friendly and the ambience warm and welcoming. Arrived for dinner at 7pm on a Tuesday. Empty restaurant with staff super nice and eager to please. Not fancy. Approx $16 per entree. But the food was impeccable. So good! Have eaten there twice, and both times ordered food to-go. We've tried the Chicken Tika Masala, the Lamb Curry, the Goat Curry, and Chicken Korma (sp?). All were delicious. We also got regular naan and garlic naan, and super tasty as well. We'll definitely be returning for the buffet and for more dinners. The staff is super nice and offered us a table and tea while we waited for our to go order. I wish they would have a better sign out front so more people could find them - theyre in the basement of the Marketplace building downtown so you kind of feel lost when you're checking it out for the first time. read more

The food was super impressive considering it's in Casper, which typically has all kinds of sucky food. I went in for the lunch buffet and thought all of the food I had was pretty good. I was surprised that they didn't have any yellow chicken curry or any variations as that is in my mind the most popular Indian dish people order at restaurants. They had my favorite, tikka masala, which I thought was good but the chicken was pretty dry in it. I would have liked to have much more spice/flavor in the dishes, but I suppose for the community they're serving it is to be expected. The best part of my visit was the piping hot naan that they served us- I actually thought I was going to burn my fingers when I picked it up. read more

Awesome! These kids are everything you want in restaurant owners. They are passionate about what they are doing and it shows. SO GLAD Casper has this option. One of the very few places that care about each customer's dietary likes, dislikes, needs, etc. They will make a meal just for you and the price is reasonable. If you have a chance, try the buffet, it is fabulous. I ordered a "specialty vegan meal" and they not only made it, but offered to me anything on the buffet while I waited. So thoughtful. So good. Stopped by for a quick supper. Easy access from I-25. The best Indian Food I've ever eaten. The tandoori chicken came out on a sizzling cast iron skillet. It was tender and juicy, we ordered at a level 5 spice and it had a nice flavor profile, not too hot but you could feel the bite. Owners are very friendly and personable. I recently placed my order online through Yelp. i arrived to find it ready, and was soon home to enjoy the meal.The restaurant is plainly decorated but clean and not over-crowded. The food was delicious and prepared to just the right "spicy" level, as I had specified online.
