This place was fantastic. The indoor decor represents a lot of the culture of Nepal. Playing on a loop on monitors were videos of the landscapes and local towns of Nepal, including Kathmandu. Each booth has its own theme/flavor which makes it even more interesting. Food is delicious. Spicy level is perfect (waiter asked multiple times if we really wanted 8/10 for spicy because nobody ever asks for that kind of heat). Chicken tikka masala was the best. They have some good lunch specials which allows you to sample a variety of different dishes for about $13. Will definitely visit again and I recommend this place to anyone who loves the Asian culture and delicious authentic food!

    Indian beer!

I swear I've been here before, but never reviewed this joint. Ordered an Indian beer to start, and then 3 main dishes, which came with rice or naan. Food was great, the chicken tikka masala was my favorite, but the korma and curry were good as well. Ambiance is strip mall supper club, service was prompt and helpful, and prices were slightly above portion size... good joint, I'll be back!

This was easily the best Indian food I've had in a LONG time. The service was incredible, they were attentive and friendly. The garlic cilantro naan was delicious and paired beautifully with the main dishes. We ordered butter chicken which was rich and robust with flavor - probably the most delicious butter chicken I've had. The lamb curry was complex, flavorful and savory. I cannot wait to go back! The desire was traditional and quaint. Incredibly pleased with the whole dining experience. (I also loved the 7 dollar glasses of house wine)

Delicious food in a quiet and comfortable setting. Himalayan Palace offers a wonderful lunch special where you can pick two types of curry, with soup, naan and rice pudding for 13.95. A nice treat for those with a bit of a craving for Indian food at lunch.

Went in for an early dinner. I believe we were the only customers in the restaurant when we arrived. The food was good, but the service was super slow and they forgot part of what we ordered. The servers never came back to check on us and we had to wait quite awhile to flag one down.

This has been my go to spot for Indian food for the past few months. Everything I've tried so far is delicious! I love the chicken masala, it is so creamy and packed with flavor. I live for the naan and will sometimes order two just to have more leftovers. Great place, definitely try it and I'm sure it'll become one of your go tos too!

Best place to get your Himalayan/Nepalese food fix! We were blown away by how delicious everything was here! We ordered 1) chicken tikka masala- perfectly balanced in its flavors with such a savory, rich base of sauce. We used the naan to soak up the sauce. 2) garlic cilantro naan- amazing. Crispy on the edges, but chewy on the insides. A must get with your meal 3) mixed tandoori- this dish came out sizzling with an assortment of lamb, salmon, chicken atop grilled vegetables. Absolutely loved the marinade on the meat and the veggies soaked up all that yummy flavor. 4) mango lassi- so creamy, smooth, and the mango really popped through the yogurt base. Perfect to wash down the spicy food, a true palate cleanser. 5) 911 hot sauce- loved this bright, punchy, spicy sauce- I added it to everything and it definitely burns in the best way possible! The restaurant itself is super clean and warm with a friendly, helpful staff. Free parking with plenty of available spots!

Chicken Momo, Butter Chicken, Butter Naan This was excellent! The butter chicken was flavorful and filling, the chicken super tender. The Naan was classic and great. The chicken momo I quite enjoyed but it didn't amaze me; just a solid dish. I didn't think the sauce that came with the chicken momo was very flavorful, so I dipped the chicken momos in my Butter Chicken sauce instead, and that tasted great.

Yum!!! Very solid food here. We ordered takeout and everything was prepared by staff and ready on time, restaurant looked cute and would eat in another time. The garlic naan, chili chicken, chicken tikka masala and momos were all really good! Would definitely recommend and come back!

This place was pretty good. The butter chicken sauce was very flavorful and creamy. The paneer chili perfectly spicy. I did add more spice to it but was very delicious. The mango lassi drink that was free in check in was delicious although sweet and sugary. The naan bread was very good. Is be back

Daily Lunch special, is that for Saturdays and Sundays as well?

    Yes

Is the buffet open? FYI Chinese buffet restaurants are open :(

No. Even indoor dining can be spotty particularly with Indian cuisine. When I inquired the various owners say that they need more employees to open indoor. Perhaps on June 15th. We'll see. Until then get it to go like I do.

Does their lunch buffet have tandoori chicken?

It did when we went, but a few other dishes did change so you may wish to ask them directly for a given day.

The good: We…read morearrived on Friday evening around 6:45. The dining room was quite busy. We waited for a few moments by the entrance, and then we were seated at a two top next to the raised tables on the carpet. We ordered samosas, Naan, Chicken Saag & Mango Chicken. Dal: We were gifted two small cups of dal (lentil soup) with fresh cilantro. It was not as flavorful as it has been in the past, so we added salt and pepper, and that brought it to life. Samosas: Delicious! They were on the smaller side, but the tamarind sauce was delightful. - $4.99 Garlic & Cilantro Naan: Great and reasonably priced - $3.99 Chicken Saag - Spice level 4 - pretty hot, very tasty. Chicken and spinach in a rich sauce. - $15.99 Mango Chicken - Spice 4 - pretty hot, slightly sweet sauce and very flavorful chicken. - $15.99 Basmati rice: fine :) Glass bottles of water were placed on the table immediately, and when we finished one, another one was brought over right away. We appreciated this! There is plenty of parking in the lot. The could-be-better: The service was rather uneven today because there were only two waiters for the whole dining room and they had to seat folks, bus tables, handle to-go orders, and wait on tables. They definitely need more staff on weekends. As a result, the service came across as a bit gruff and harried. Our table near the carpeted seating areas was a little too small for all of the dishes, and when our used dishes were not taken off of the table, it was quite crowded. Additionally, when families arrived who needed to sit at the tables on the carpet, we were surrounded by people taking their shoes off, and it felt awkward and uncomfortable for a few minutes. We were just about done with our food when the families arrived, so we left shortly afterward, but it could be a bit much if we were there longer. There should be a "please wait to be seated" sign by the front door so customers don't walk into the restaurant and stand around by the desk, and crowd the folks who are already seated in the dining room, or worse, pounce on a table that someone else is waiting for. Overall: The food here is good and reasonably priced. I will probably opt for take out more often than I dine in going forward (just to avoid the crowds), but I will be back. This restaurant feels authentic and genuine, and I like supporting family-owned businesses whenever possible. Mahalo!

Some things have changed. The chai was excellent which I ordered while I waited. Everything smelled so good on the way home in the car. When we got home and had the food, the flavors were nice, but a few things were not so good. I will attribute it with costs of a small business trying to stay alive in this economy. Because the differences I noticed were cost related. First of all the baingan bharta should be called baingan peas because it was a sea of green peas. And I do not like peas. It is not even possible to get a bite without peas or to separate them out, it is chock full of peas. I didn't even see any eggplant pieces in there. Peas are way cheaper than eggplant. Secondly the kashmiri naan which hubby and I love - and have been ordering for years was different. We used to go there just for the Kashmir naan. But this time it was nothing special. It was thin with less filling and with more coconut (cheaper) than the last time we ordered it. There were no cherries that I could tell which used to be the main flavor with some nuts. The naan itself was thin. I was craving the good thick pillowy Indian bread stuffed full of deliciousness. But all I could taste was stale naan. I know that French almond croissants are traditionally made by filling the day old croissants with almond paste. And they are delicious. Maybe that's how kashmiri naan is made. But this naan just tasted stale. So I was disappointed. The other disappointment came with the to-go packaging. Everything was tightly wrapped in plastic wrap, however still something leaked through one of the brown paper bags making it tear through. Secondly when I opened the plastic container of the korma it squirted all over me and stained my ivory sweater. So I was already bummed by that experience even before opening the peas bharta. It appears the restaurant had rebranded itself as Indian Punjabi Cuisine and has a new Panjabi teddy bear logo. So I'm thinking that perhaps the ownership has changed hands. I didn't see the older Indian lady owner who is usually there during the lunchtime. Oh, they have the butter chicken on the backside of the menu with three other house specialties and I didn't see it until after I had placed the order -or I would have ordered that instead of the chicken tiki masala for my dad. We haven't had the desserts yet, but I trust they'll be fine. Anyway don't take my word for it. Go check it out for yourself.

We decided to make reservations on Valentines night just in case it was busy, but to our surprise, it was not). Upon entering we were greeted by the nicest server and were seated immediately. Dining area is really warm and inviting with a lovely decor. I immediately informed the server that we had a Groupon and she acknowledged it, as I did not want to have any issues as I had mentioned above. We started off with the hummus and naan appetizer (13.00). I found it a bit odd as I'd never had hummus in an Indian restaurant before, but nonetheless, it was decent and the naan bread (although thin) was very good. As for entrees, I ordered the coconut pineapple chicken curry which came with rice (22.00 + 2.00 extra for white meat). I ordered it with a spice level 3 on a scale of 1-5 and it was pretty good, just too small of a portion for myself, My friend ordered the chicken garlic Malai kabab which did not come with rice and he was told was not spicy (it was with jalapeno slices). We ordered an extra side of rice since he wanted some. He did not care for his entree as it reminded him of chicken fajitas (it came out on a sizzling pan) and he thought it was going to come in a yogurt sauce (it was marinated in a yogurt sauce). As for dessert, we looked at the menu and to be honest, none of the items sounded appetizing, so we skipped it. Now for the drama: to be fair, there were three different servers that had been helping us. The one who brought our bill (not the initial server whom I informed) did not deduct our Groupon so I reminded her. She immediately told me that due to the holiday there were not accepting them on just this day. I told her I had asked the initial server who seated us and she said yes as I would have come back the next day to use it if that was the case. She then told me that it stipulates that on the groupon and I fired back with no, it does not, as I checked beforehand and I would not have purchased it had it stated that (besides that, we are from out of town). She hesitantly deducted it from our bill and waited to see if I was going to tip based on the full amount or on the reduced amount. She asked if I wanted a receipt and I said yes in case we had any issues. When she brought the receipt she gave me this dirty look and handed the receipt to me as if she was going to just drop it on the table. I thought to myself, oh, no you didn't!!! Upon leaving, I walked over to the initial server, whom was sweet as pie, and told her about my experience with the other female server and was honest how she treated us. She was very apologetic and I informed her that I was just being honest and as I said that the rude female server walked by with a fake smile and I pointed out to the (initial) server that she was the one. Lastly, I wanted to point out that the restroom was disgusting! The sink was backed up and you couldn't wash your hands in it! It's also located in an odd area where the kitchen and plates are at. I won't ever patronize this restaurant again. Ick!
