Every dish was so well seasoned and there wasn't a single bland bite and we tried a lot of dishes. The store is beautifully decorated and the high ceilings pull your eyes to the beautiful art of the yak that welcomes you! Warning... the yak momo is delicious but spicy... especially for young kids. My girls love dumplings but couldn't finish one. We loved the garlic naan... so delicious. We wrapped some butter chicken and rice and loved every bite. The pork belly is crisp and sweet and my kids loved it. The boar meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned with intense seasoning that was perfect! The chicken noodle kids meal was my girls' favorite dish after the butter chicken. The servers were incredibly attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Come check it out if you've never had Nepali food!

I honestly really enjoyed our meal here! The table ordered a variety of items off the menu and everyone really enjoyed their food! We sat outdoors and they had a lazy Susan in the middle of the table of family style dinner which was great. I tried the Yak Dumplings 10/10 Ordered the Yak Briyanni 10/10 The Yak Briyani takes a while to make but it's so worth it!!! You can literally share it with at least 4-5 people. It's more rice than Yak, but still really goooood! I would totally get it again!! I can't wait to go back. The only downside was the bar. If you're looking for a spot to have drinks they don't really have great alcoholic drink options here. Great spot for large groups and there's a parking garage nearby. The staff were great! I believe it's Nepalese food I think

We had a good Saturday night dinner at Himalayan Wild Yak. Service was good and so was the food. Our order was a compromise given the mix of people, so I expect another visit to be even better. Their momos were yummy, with the chicken ones being somewhat spicy compared to the yak momos. The Tandoor salmon was tasty, but overcooked. The chow mein with yak meat tasted really good, but the yak was overcooked and chewy, almost like a jerky. The cauliflower curry was quite tasty and a reasonable spice level, with the only drawback being more potatoes than cauliflower in it. We each tried different teas - my light green tea (Gyurogo?) smelled and tasted good, but was clearly not worth seven dollars...

Since this place opened we've been curious to try since we've never had this type of cuisine. We decided to try this time to finally satisfy our curiosity and sorry to say it's not our thing. We ordered two items to go so cant speak to ambiance or service. Got the Chicken momo with chutney and the Yak short ribs. The chicken momo does not come with chutney but we got it for an extra charge. Glad we did because without the chutney these dumplings are just plain old chicken dumplings. Was so excited to try the yak short ribs but upon opening it up there was a really bad smell. I imagine it must be comparable to boar taint in pork. This is our first time eating yak so I don't know if there should be a smell or not but it was horrendous. We could only eat the rice and felt bad the meat went to waste. The two items we got totaled over $40.

Love this place especially their Mutton biryani! I would definitely say, this is the best one in nova area. And the pickle they serve it with, is delish! Awesome service and nice ambience!

Great Nepalese cuisine with excellent service and a pleasant ambiance. The food was delicious and well prepared. I went with a Nepalese friend, and they confirmed that the flavors are authentic. The biryani was especially good--rich, spicy, and very satisfying. Overall, a great dining experience.

Food is very delicious, highly recommend Momo Yak and Biryani Yak, can't wait to go back again.

I only did a quick drop in to eat some of my friend's food while they were dining in ---and what I had was absolutely delicious! The portions were nice and the food was flavorful. They have committed fully to their theme of the wild yak and it makes for interesting decor as well. The service was friendly and helpful, as they were supportive in us joining our friends to help finish up their food. I do plan to return the next time I'm in the area to try my own meal! The yak biriyani and the chicken kabob were highlights this time around!

Menu. They have a happy hour food menu.

Himalayan food you say? Come to Himalayan Wild Yak at the Brambleton town center. Delicious food with a little kick. We sat at the bar and enjoyed a few drinks and different plates. The service was great and the food came out quickly and delicious. When you walk in, yo you're right is the bar and to the left is the restaurant. We had the wild boar, samosa chat, chicken sekuwa and the roasted potatoes. Loved each as they had a delicious blend of spices and were cooked just right. Come and enjoy! Would recommend.

The ambiance, service and Food was great! We were here on 2/14 and were expecting slow service but that did not occur. We had a reservation and only waited may be 10 minutes before we got seated. We knew exactly what we wanted to order and placed it right away. the food came out timely and food was served hot, like we wanted. Would definitely recommend Himalayan Wild Yak as we've been coming here many times.

Did not have eating yak on my bingo card for my visit to VA. Damn it's great! We had the yak dumplings, I think called momo (so tasty and packed a flavor punch) and a few set meals of yak and lamb curries with veggies and dal. Also had butter chicken (EXCELLENT) and nan bread. Everything was delicious. The service was exceptionally DELIGHTFUL. It's a big lively fun place that I hear is usually slammed busy. Pretty mellow last night and we had a great time.

Came here on a Friday night with some family for a late-ish dinner, around 8:15 (they close at 10). We parked in a free public garage around the corner but there's also street parking. We walked in and it there was around a 15 minute wait for a table. The decor was nice and I loved the huge yak that people could take pictures with up front. We got seated sooner than estimated and the dining room was still pretty full. We started with drinks. Got the Khukuri, Fragrant Lavender, Himalayan Mule, and a Smokey Old Fashioned. My drink was the Khukuri which was refreshing and not too strong. Loved the presentation of the Smokey Old Fashioned with the cloche. Pretty much everyone at the table loved the drinks. For food we got the Bhuteko Aalu, Crispy Pork Belly, and the Yak Momo to start. The Bhuteko Aalu was super flavorful and had a nice kick. The pork belly skin had a great crispiness. The Yak Momo were of a great size and very meaty. The sauce that came with went great. For our entrees we got two orders of Braised Short Yak Ribs and the Yak Korma. We also added on naan because it was necessary. The short yak ribs were so tender and flavorful. The korma was so creamy but had huge tender chunks of meat (lots of tender meat!). The rice was cooked perfectly and the naan was great to soak up the korma gravy. To end we got two orders of Gulab Jamun which was a great sweet finisher to the meal. This place really lived up to the hype. Great service, nice decor, and amazing food and drinks. One of the best restaurants in the county in my opinion!

This was a super fun and unique dining experience and the food was exceptional. Highly recommend the yak momo and yak korma. Wild boar was also fun to try and very well seasoned! They also have amazing mango lassi. The location and ambience are a little underwhelming but I hope they do well!

Loved that the menu is a mix of Indian and Nepalese, nice to have both options. Decor: I actually loved the decor it was fun but it was pretty dead in there when we went so it didnt help teh vibes Food Ordered: We got a bunch of stuff from veggie momos, haka noodles, gulab jamun, kheer, and a mango lassi. Food Breakdown: Everything was really really good. The momos were exactly what I wanted and man that sause hit different. The desserts (gulab jamun and kheer) were great too, and the mango lassi hit the spot. Only thing is the Haka noodles, they just didnt taste like actual haka noodles to me, kinda a funky version of it. Not bad, just not what I was expecting. Portion Size: I loved the sizes as it was very shareable Service: Staff was solid, as good as youd expect on a Tuesday night. Price: I think it was totally reasonable for the area Would I go Back: 100% yes. Definitely recommend it if anything for the Momos!

The food here is extremely authentic and well seasoned I've eaten most of the lamb/goat dishes here and they're all phenomenal! And this time we got the goat sekuwa, lamb karahi, lamb thakali thali, and pani puri (again). I think it speaks volume about a place when the butter chicken (which is still great) is not the standout dish in a desi restaurant. And even then it's one of the most seasoned versions I've ever tasted. The dishes here are all amazing, flaborful, and not spicy (though I'm sure you can always ask about adding or taking away spice to the waiters). The service here is fast, there's never been a long line. And the place is very clean, spacious, and good for all ages. I cannot recommend this place enough, if you're debating whether or not you should come consider that debate over -- you're coming.

The soup was savory and quaint with slight texture difference of the rice puff toppings. In the past I had their truffle naan which was quite good, with a boar momos. In this most recent visit, I had the momo platter that consisted of 4 of the 5 momos: wild boar, lamb, chicken, and veggie. My favorite was probably the boar momo and then the lamb. My least favorite was the veggie momo. All had a nice texture. The sauces had good flavor. The orange had a small spiciness to it but not unbearable. Good way to try out a lot. We ordered the butter chicken, which was good. The chicken was a little overcooked and dry, and the sauce felt a little watered down instead of creamier. We skipped the naan and instead had the mango lassi which was good, more leaning on the yogurt side so tasted a bit more tart.
