Literally my top two favorite place to eat in Dallas. They never disappoint. The creamy special is a vegans dream! It is literally creamy, warm, savory, soft. There are plenty of noodles and vegetables. Absolutely amazing. TOS is probably my 6th review and it's always the same! The recipe is consistent, with the same rich flavor. The staff is kind, the location is beautiful and quiet. Parking is very hard to come by, they only have a few spaces and are typically full. I haven't been a fan of the alcohol menu, but oh well, the food is the real reason to come here in the first place. We will continue to come here. read more

Solid neighborhood jaunt. Been coming here for years. I favor the Veggie Gyoza and Spicy Dumplings. Dumplings are steamed to perfection with no added sauce necessary. Green tea was tasty. We've enjoyed the martinis and Sapporos. You have a fusion of Asian items here. Lots of solid entree options. Ramen broths are to your preference- creamy /silkier vs protein forward/ peppery. Delicious jammy egg in the ramen options. Place tends to be chill during the week. Parking can be a task, as it's Lower Greenville. To be fair, our most recent visit was the weekend of St. Patrick's Day fest. So, spots were marked off and limited. Somewhere between a jam-packed place and us, our sake flight got forgotten. My boyfriend and I liked this spot so much that we came twice within 2 weeks! He found this spot through some foodie account on Instagram. I am surprised despite the popularity, the wait was not long at all and we were able to get seat almost immediately. For the first time, we ordered 2 appetizers - shrimp tempura and gyoza, not particularly outstanding, but they came out fast! As we were diving into our appetizers, the ramen was ready for us. I had the Spicy Miso Special (with mild spice) and my boyfriend had the Hinodeya special with medium spice. I personally like mine better because it was creamy and super flavorful compared to the Hinodeya special. My boyfriend tends to get stomach ache and fee bloated if he eats too much MSG. But he didn't feel any of those symptoms. To him, it was one of the biggest indicators if that is a good ramen or not. For the second time, we ordered takoyaki and karaage. Again, nothing too outstanding. This time, my boyfriend had what I had last time and I ordered the Tonkatsu special (no pic, sorry!). Maybe because of the lack of spice, I still prefer the Spicy Miso Special over Tonkatsu (Tonkatsu ramen is always my go-to in ramen spots). Regardless, we enjoyed our meals very much in both times. Was craving some ramen, so I decided to checkout Hinodeya Ramen! Given that it's in Lower Greenville, the parking situation isn't the best. It's a small lot with limited spots, so I felt pretty lucky snagging one. Inside, it's spacious with a nice mix of tables, booths, and a bar area. I tried the Hinodeya ramen. It was solid overall, but the flavor didn't quite hit the mark for me, it could've used a bit more depth in comparison to the best bowls of ramen I've had. The other important ramen components to me, the ramen egg and chashu, were good but just not the most flavorful or tender/soft I've had. We also ordered the Tonkotsu ramen, and I preferred the tonkotsu broth, which was executed well. I wish they had the seasonings on the table like most other ramen restaurants I've been to. I will say the noodles are probably the highlight as they had great texture and thickness. Based on my judgement, I do think the noodles are made from scratch, which is definitely a plus in my book. For appetizers, we got the chicken nanban (Japanese fried chicken with tartar sauce) and takoyaki. Both were tasty starters. The chicken nanban was an interesting but delicious combination. The takoyaki was slightly undercooked to me. Overall, service was good, the host and waiting staff were friendly. All around, not a bad spot if you're craving ramen. This is now my second time coming here and both times have been a hit. Tonight I started off with some tempura shrimp which was served at the perfect temperature and had the perfect amount of crunch and no oily texture. The appetizer also came with a decent amount of pieces (I think 5?). After this I ordered the spicy miso special ramen which was superb. They give you the option to change the spiciness which I appreciated because sometimes you want something very spicy and sometimes you don't. Everything in the ramen was fantastic: the egg was gooey, the pork melted in my mouth, and the noodles were firm without being overcooked. The broth was seasoned so well and super yummy to where I didn't feel the need to add anything to my bowl. My total for my food plus a soda came to about $30 which is typical for the amount I got. I'd say it was definitely worth it! I will say, if you're a bit messy like I am, to wear a dark colored shirt since you may leave with a few broth stains. (Still worth it). read more

Their water tasted so good!! So crisp and refreshing. We ordered some dumplings and vegetable spring rolls and they were both so so good. This was our Supper Club dinner spot for February. Very good ! I had the tempura shrimp, curry, hot level three. Another person in the group had Ramen with muscles and another person had Ramen with chicken. Can I say next time I go I am going to get the Ramen with muscles. They were tender. They were flavorful. The whole dish was good. And what other person just got tempura shrimp and rice and we had the spring rolls as an appetizer.and the octopus balls. Everything that we ate or sampled from one another was absolutely delicious. The service there was impeccable the wait staff amazing, just a beautiful experience all the way around. Such a cute place! I came on a breezy fall evening and sat inside, wish we had sat outside! They have comfy inside and outside seating with cute decor. Throughout the weekdays they have happy hour drinks which was tempting but I ended up getting a Diet Coke. My sister and I don't eat chicken/meat so we got the creamy ramen. I loved it!! It had a ton of umami flavor and fresh veggies. I love the way they prepare their tofu as well, I've never had it cooked that way. Their tofu's is sweet and super chewy, it was packed with flavor and complimented the savory broth. I added corn to my cream ramen for $1 extra and it was great and brought my total to $14 for my bowl. My sister added a side of shrimp tempura and it was my biggest regret not getting some too! The shrimp tempura is definitely the best I've ever tried, it was fresh with a light and crunchy batter and amazing flavor. The people working were super nice and got our food out quickly. read more

There's parking in the back and has a smaller interior compared to other restaurants in Dallas. We ordered the fried oysters to start with which had great flavor and not fishy at all, came with a sauce to dip. For entrees we got the katsu Kitty which came with rice, fried kale, spinach and peppers. The curry had a great flavor and wasn't spicy at all, the katsu was crispy and tender. For ramen you can choose your spice level, so we went with the normal offering. The ramen came with pork, corn, bamboo shoots, half and egg and some veggies. I love this place, and I've been so many times that this review should've taken place at least a year ago. I usually get the tonkatsu, but on a recent visit, I got the spicy miso. I always add sukiyaki beef and make it a spice level of 2, and it's perfect; both of them are. They have a mix of garlic oil and either fried garlic or onions that I add, too, and it just sets it off. Prices are good, service is quick, and they even deliver the same quality as they serve in the restaurant. Parking is slim due to the Greenville hotspot area, but definitely check it out. I haven't found too many places that have sukiyaki beef, and I love it as an option to add to my bowl, YAS!!! read more
