Perfect on a cold day. I like the genuine vibes when you walk in. The premium miso is by far the best ramen I've had in years. Food was fast and service was efficient. I can't wait to try the rest of the menu.

Had a really good bowl of spicy tonkatsu and some gyoza for a late lunch. Broth was perfect and flavorful. Friendly and efficient service. Trendy and clean dining area. I will definitely be returning!

WOW!! I eat ramen often, everywhere I travel. This is hands down the best ramen I've had. I can't critique it, it's that good. The service was excellent and everything I ordered was absolutely top notch. I'm only in Dallas for a couple days but I might be eating here again before I go. The owner is also exceptional-- he gave us a free snack to try, and the waitress seared it at the table with a blow torch. Want to support a worthy small business? Give this one a try!

Tasty ramen but I don't know if it was worth waiting almost an hour for. While we were waiting for food it was difficult to get the host's attention for basic things like water. It ended up being a stressful meal because we were running on a time crunch. I usually don't expect ramen to take so long because all the ingredients are usually prepared ahead of time and the wait is for the assembly. And not getting any updates from the staff was a bit of a let down. The ramen was tasty, though, and I certainly recommend for those who are in the area and want a solid, comforting meal. Just expect to be killing some time.

Wow what a fantastic spot! Waya has an extensive menu that offers lots of izakaya options! A great spot for when you're craving different dishes. The gyozas were pan fried to perfection, with a beautiful crispy bottom. The tonkotsu shoyo ramen portion was massive, especially enjoyed the bamboo shoots. Really enjoyed this spot, will definitely return!

Good and quick service, delicious ramen and gyoza! One of our favorite ramen spots in Dallas! The staff is attentive with quick service. Always a good place for a Japanese beer with some flavorful ramen! We have sat at the bar but there are also plenty of tables for bigger groups.

The ramen here was full of flavor! I ordered the spicy tonkatsu, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The interior of this restaurant is smaller so on the weekends, do expect a small wait to get inside. I would definitely come back here, and I recommend this place do all ramen lovers!

Love how small and quaint this ramen shop is. The flavor on the tomato ramen and black garlic ramen are both great and noodles were perfectly done. Gyoza were delicious. Ways buns were a little dry and needed some dipping sauce, but generously filled. Enjoyed checking this place out and understand why then made D's best ramen list.

This is the best ramen I've had so far in Dallas! The broth was actually spicy, and there was a generous amount of char siu pork. I appreciated the variety between bar seating and regular table seating. I came for lunch on a Sunday and there was no wait, whereas for dinner on Friday there was a line out the door

My go-to place in Dallas for Ramen! Food is always excellent. It can get packed as it is a small space but love how private it can still feel. Loved their coffee jelly! It is a must-try if you are a coffee lover like me.

Ask the Community - WAYA Japanese Izakaya

Do you have air conditioner at your establishment?

    Yes

Does Waya make their own noodles?

No, it’s imported from Hokkaido, Japan. Thank you!

Does the vegetarian ramen doesn't contain any eggs, animal based sauce or fish oil?

Thank you for the question. Our veggie ramen may contain egg white in noodle. Optimal GF noodle is made of yam. Soup doesn’t have any animal protein in ingredient but we use same tools/equipments with other ramens.

Do they still make those fluffy Japanese pancakes?

    Unfortunately, we don’t.

I usually have to share with my husband and that's more than enough for us. They have an awesome selection of cocktails here too, so don't ignore the drink menu. Not a problem since we enjoyed sitting on the patio and enjoying our drinks. The bartenders were great, fast and very friendly. I appreciate that before pouring my wine, the one bartender put in a lot of effort to buffing my glass. I ordered a plum wine to start, which is always delicious and sweet. We were seated a little earlier than 20 minutes, but unfortunately weren't greeted for a bit following that. They were super busy though. Our waiter was very nice and knowledgeable, and we stuck with splitting apps versus getting ramen. We ordered the shishito peppers, karaage, takoyaki, and edamame. To drink, we ordered and split the hot sake. The first plates came out pretty quickly, and were hot and delicious. Our hot sake took a while to be delivered, and we had to ask our waiter to double check it was still on the way. Then when it arrived, we had to fight off a bunch of gnats that kept landing on the bottle. I guess they wanted to party, too! The shishito peppers were definitely my favorite. They were perfectly coated in sauce and flavoring. The karaage was tender and tastes especially good when paired with the watermelon. takoyaki was served hot and it's a blast watching the Bonita flakes dance on the balls. The edamame, while good, needed to be stirred up because the salt distribution was heavy on certain pieces. We wished we could order dessert, but felt a bit rushed by the server. It was a little before 10pm, so we understand they're off at 11pm, but as a former server there's definitely better ways to keep up with the closing process that feels less intrusive to the patrons. Overall, we had a blast at Wabi house and the food was great. Maybe we went on an off night for service, but overall will definitely be back again!!

I am surprised despite the popularity, the wait was not long at all and we were able to get seat almost immediately. For the first time, we ordered 2 appetizers - shrimp tempura and gyoza, not particularly outstanding, but they came out fast! As we were diving into our appetizers, the ramen was ready for us. I had the Spicy Miso Special (with mild spice) and my boyfriend had the Hinodeya special with medium spice. I personally like mine better because it was creamy and super flavorful compared to the Hinodeya special. My boyfriend tends to get stomach ache and fee bloated if he eats too much MSG. But he didn't feel any of those symptoms. To him, it was one of the biggest indicators if that is a good ramen or not. For the second time, we ordered takoyaki and karaage. Again, nothing too outstanding. This time, my boyfriend had what I had last time and I ordered the Tonkatsu special (no pic, sorry!). Maybe because of the lack of spice, I still prefer the Spicy Miso Special over Tonkatsu (Tonkatsu ramen is always my go-to in ramen spots). Regardless, we enjoyed our meals very much in both times. I think we have found our go-to ramen spot in DFW area!

The sushi was good for the most part. A bit lukewarm. Some tasted... a bit fishy and off, particularly the salmon carpaccio and salmon truffle and Caribbean roll. The seared salmon and Chu toro and yuzu salmon and yellowtail jalapeño were my favs. Apps: okay. The cucumber salad was surprising but not bad. Lots of chili oil but not spicy. I think I was expecting a vinaigrette but it wasn't. The crab Rangoon was extremely stale. I could not eat it. The seaweed salad still had frozen ice in the middle. Cheese corn was cold and congealed. Not warm at all. Like it's been sitting there on the counter. Squid legs nicely fried and crunchy. The steak pieces had good flavor and sear but a lot of pieces were pure fat. I think I would come back only for the salmon and chu toro. But the price point is a bit more than other AYCE and no dessert included. I wish even a scoop of ice cream or one mochi ice cream to finish our meal. small restaurant. So for a large table I would not recommend more than 6. Also with time limit and limit on how many sushi you can order in one go will be hard press with a larger group.

The quality of the meat really stands out, especially the wagyu and specialty cuts. Everything is fresh, well-marinated, and grills beautifully at the table. Service was excellent -- attentive, knowledgeable, and happy to explain the menu or help with the grill. The staff checked in at just the right moments and made the whole experience feel smooth and relaxed. The sides and appetizers were solid (garlic noodles are a must), and the drink options pair nicely with the meal. Prices are on the higher side, but the quality, atmosphere, and experience make it worth it. If you're looking for authentic Japanese BBQ with great vibes and premium ingredients, Manpuku is absolutely worth a visit. I'll definitely be back.

Overall, Manpuku was... fine. Not bad, but not particularly memorable, and definitely not compelling enough at this price point to justify a return. From a food standpoint, the proteins and sauces were the strongest part of the meal. The cuts themselves were flavorful, and some of the marinades/sauces brought the kind of richness and salt balance you'd hope for at a Japanese BBQ spot. That said, the supporting cast (especially the vegetables) felt like an afterthought. For a place charging at this level, I was expecting more intention and better overall balance across the table. Drinks were serviceable but uninspired. I kept it simple with sake and Japanese beer, while others in the group ordered martinis that were perfectly drinkable, if not especially polished or memorable. Where the experience really started to fall apart was service and overall floor management. With the restaurant being so lightly occupied, there really wasn't much excuse for how inattentive things felt throughout the night. The pacing and presence just weren't there. What ultimately took the experience from "underwhelming" to actively off-putting, though, was the fact that multiple street vendors were allowed to come into the restaurant and approach tables selling flowers and candy. It happened enough to become a real distraction, and it was especially jarring to watch staff and management seemingly do nothing while guests were being interrupted mid-meal. One table eventually had to tell them directly to stop bothering them, which should never be the diners' responsibility to handle. There are too many places in Dallas competing in this price tier to overlook that kind of lapse in hospitality. Manpuku wasn't a disaster, but it also didn't deliver on the level of polish, attention, or overall dining experience its pricing suggests. Wouldn't say I regret trying it BUT I also wouldn't be in any rush to come back.
