We had an early dinner at 4pm on Saturday. Surprisingly, we had the entire place to ourselves till 5pm when other parties started showing up. We tried the omakase set and our chef was very nice. Sadly, the food was underwhelming and I had high expectations after all the reviews. The edamame was dry and hot tasting (cooked salmon) was a bit dry. All the sashimi was pretty good and prepared at the counter in front of us. I would recommend going for a la carte sashimi sushi and skipping the omakase set.

    Chefs choice sashimi.

Outstanding. Love the space, it's upscale, aesthetically beautiful and calming. From service to food, I was unexpectedly blown away. I scheduled a massage next door, and picked Kawa for convenience, I'm so glad I did! The sashimi was so fresh, flavorful, and melty. The hand rolls! I'll dream of them. Crab, unagi katsu, scallop with crispy quinoa and yuzu, inari toro caviar. It's not possible to pick a favorite, just order every one of them.

Okay, I know it's not technically in Collin County--but it's just a short drive away, and so worth it!! My husband and I came here for our anniversary, and this place is hands-down the BEST sushi and handroll experience I've ever had--and I've had a lot domestically and internationally. I'll be more shocked if this place doesn't get recognized by Michelin by the end of the year. Chef Sonny and his wife run the restaurant together. You're not just at another table, you're part of the experience. But the food... OH MY GOODNESS!!! The fish is flown in from Japan on a 2-day turnaround and aged to absolute perfection. Every bite, from sushi to handroll, even to dessert, has so many layers from texture and taste, it's quite unforgettable. Clearly, well thought out and refined. Two bites I'm still dreaming about: 1. The uni crispy seaweed roll - briny, crunchy, and insanely good 2. The inari truffle toro caviar - rich, buttery, luxurious... just wow. I highly recommend you try them in this order. The crispy crunch from the first with the cloud like from the second is a combination that still has my mouth watering. This is more than a sushi / handroll bar--it's a full-on experience, and I'd honestly be shocked if they don't earn a Michelin star within the year. PS. Parking was a breeze, located right outside their building. It is a small lot but there's more space just a short walk away.

Thanks to the reservation, we were seated right away and immediately greeted by our server, who was honestly amazing from start to finish. She was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience feel effortless. We kicked things off with drinks. I started with an espresso martini, and it was really, really good--smooth, balanced, and exactly what I was hoping for. For my second drink, I tried the smoked Old Fashioned from their holiday menu. It was good, but I'll be honest, it was extremely strong. Like, really strong. In general, their drinks definitely pack a punch, so that's something to keep in mind when ordering. For my entrée, I ordered the Mediterranean smoked chicken salad, and wow. It was hands down one of the best salads I've ever had in my life. Everything was perfectly balanced, flavorful, and satisfying, and it didn't feel like a "boring" salad at all. It was so good that I already know I'll be coming back specifically for that dish, though I'm also curious to try more of the menu next time. Overall, this place absolutely lived up to the recommendation. Great service, strong drinks, and standout food. I'll definitely be back.

The calamari was a great choice for an appetizer. The bbq white cheddar burger was cooked to my exact liking full of flavor and nice portion sizes. The few negative things I would have to say is i had to ask for a box multiple times. Where i was seated I could see the servers come and go and they were all on their phones. There was a server when grabbing food looked disgusted as he was having to grab orders When a server opened the kitchen there were two cambro containers filling up on the counter from the ceiling leaking.

We went for dinner on a Friday to enjoy the gorgeous Dallas weather, sitting on the patio. Service was perfect as usual, seldom a problem with service. I had my usual La Carolina straight up while the wife tried something new, some kind of sweet drink with coconut milk and lime. I don't know the name but she loved it. The kid had Topochico ($6 for bottle, ouch!) The kid had the small guacamole and it is a generous portion with very good quality avocado and a slice on top. There is a small side of roasted poblano pepper that is quite spicy but delicious. I "stole" it from the kid and put on my tacos. Perfect. I had my favorite "Old Fashioned" tacos with flour tortillas and loved them. You two to an order for $17 plus red rice and Cole slaw. It's more than enough food. The ground beef is seasoned perfectly and I love it. I wish I knew what spices they put in that beef so I could make it at home. The wife tried the tacos al pastor with adobo chicken and fresh pineapple. She loved it. The chicken was tender and not dried out. The flavor combo was perfect. Overall, really a perfect meal. Great weather, great ambiance, great service, and great food. Can't wait to return,

Pretty standard Tex-Mex food for Dallas. Service here was great. Everyone was friendly and the food and drinks came out fast! I got the mole enchiladas and the classic frozen margarita. Everything was good. One thing I appreciated is that they're very generous with their guacamole appetizer. Sometimes you order guacamole somewhere for $8 and they bring you what looks like the amount in one avocado. I really liked the layout of the restaurant and the design. Good atmosphere too.

The noodles were delightfully chewy and the broth had a rich and full flavor without being overly fatty; I finished every drop of the garlicky goodness. The pork chashu was tender and the egg had a jammy orange yolk. The Birria ramen sounded interesting but a bit gimmicky. They also have chicken ramen for those who cannot appreciate the deliciousness that pork offers. The interior was cozy and upscale for a ramen spot and they have an outdoor patio which is nearly as large as the inside. The service was respectable but not noteworthy. Cons: A little pricey but I guess that's par for the course in Preston Hollow. $23 for my bowl of ramen after tax & tip. Moriya Shokuda is still my current favorite ramen spot but JINYA is very solid! 4.5 stars!

Parking wasn't bad either, there are lots and a garage nearby. However, the food itself fell flat for me. We ordered the crispy chicken happy hour special, which comes with a side salad. The chicken was on the dry side. Whenever I order Kaarage, it usually comes with a dipping sauce, but there was none here and that would've really helped out. The dressing on the side salad was way too acidic, making it hard to eat as well. In addition, we ordered the takoyaki as an appetizer. The takoyaki themselves were pretty solid, but the texture of the mayo was off. I'm not sure if they make their mayo in-house, but i noticed it was curdled. EDIT: after reading the restaurant's response, the texture I noticed was because it's an egg tartar sauce For the ramen, we ordered Jinya Tonkotsu Black and Creamy Veggie Ramen. Pricing is standard for DFW ramen restaurants, although *slightly* higher than some others (by like $1). The base ramen comes with a good variety of toppings! However, the ramen was just okay. The noodles are on the skinnier side, which I prefer thicker, chewier noodles. The pork chashu serving was small, and it tasted kind of old and wasn't that tender nor flavorful. The broth was just alright. I prefer soft-boiled, jammy ramen eggs, but the ajitama here was cooked longer than I would've liked. Ironically, I thought the veggie ramen was *much* better. The broth had better flavor, and they use different noodles than the tonkotsu, which were thicker (and exactly what I like!). Lastly, we had the matcha tiramisu for dessert. On a positive note, the matcha flavor was detectable. However, the tiramisu crème wasn't that fluffy, and there were noticeable amounts of undissolved sugar.

I had booked a reservation on Resy and we were seated immediately in a small, intimate booth. Initially, it was not terribly loud, but as the evening progressed and several large parties were seated nearby; the sound of the music was completely drowned out. I think more noise abatement measures could be taken to absorb some of the obtrusive loudness we were getting. For a starter, we ordered the Calamari. It was fried perfectly and was great, but the Thai Sticky sauce was too sweet and the consistency of the sauce was thin. It needed something to make it more viscous, and a secondary sauce, like a marinara or even an aioli would've been nice to balance out the sweetness of the Thai sauce. For an entree, I ordered the Maple- Ginger Salmon. The salmon was cooked perfectly and itself was delicious, but the sauce was too sweet and rich. The fired rice that accompanied my meal was over-the-top salty. It was almost going into "too much" territory. For desert we split the Passion Fruit Ice Cream Pie. This was actually very good and not overly sweet. It was my favorite item from my meal. Overall Renny's truly employs a lot of care and attention to the food, but some of the items crossed a line into "too much" territory. Be it sweetness or saltiness, the kitchen could exercise a bit of restraint to let the flavors of the food shine.
