This place is so busy. And it's no surprise why. The food is so good. See pics. They have their own parking spots too--but be careful not to park in front of the 7Eleven next door or else it's been said you'd get roll away! Yikes. Will definitely come back here again!

Clean and small restaurant with good taste of Sichuan cuisine, worthy to try. Location near NB factory store so not bad to go there after lunch

Friendly restaurant. This is the kind of the nice and cozy small family-run restaurant that the owner would remember your favorite dishes if you come often. Delicious food and interesting range of choices. The menu has a fusion of Sichuan and Cantonese cuisine. All very delicious. Don't worried if you can't east spicy food. The chiefs can make the food barely heat preserved the spices-aromas.

This is my second time went to this restaurant. Not a big or fancy restaurant but the food and service were excellent. Food portion good size and the prices very reasonable plus free appetizer

This place is amazing, great food great service they even gave us a free appetizer. Ask for the secret menu item!!

I was feeling like eating some Chinese food, and decided to go there since it was close and I just had left Seven eleven, when I go inside the cashier was on her phone completely ignoring my presence as I know she could see me, while she was on her phone I took the time to look on the menu and it was more confusing than a math test, it was a long list of dishes that I've couldn't figure out what it was, I just wanted some rice with shrimp, beef and broccoli, and that's what I thought I was ordering, when I saw the crab Rangoon on a review on Google maps I decided to ask the cashier which was another person because the girl that was on her phone was too busy to wait for me to look at the menu, I was answered with a cold and unpleasant NO, I looked back at the menu and decided to get springs rolls, $6 for 2 heavily oiled rolls with Lord knows what was inside, I paid for the bill with came out for $40, for two meals and a order of sling rolls, I took a deep breath and paid since I was too hungry to acknowledge what I was doing with my money, what I looked at my receipt I saw and extra charge of $8 of tip, that I didn't even agreed to give, and it was not deserved at all, I sat there and waited and waited for my food, it took way too long, this was supposed to be a fast food, I got my food and when I got home I was ready to eat, I operated the container just to be faced with disappointment, the food was bathing in oil I could see the carrots floating, the broccoli was so hard that it almost broke seal of my tooth, I tried to finish chewing it but the pressure that was creating in my teeth was aching my jaw, the had just paid almost fifty dollars for pain. And despite all that I realize that there's a nice restaurant literally across the street where I go regularly but I guess it was the mistake of my life trusting those false reviews I don't recommend this place for anyone.

MDM Noodles is one of my weaknesses…read more Every time I pass by, I think about going in; then I remind myself that I bought groceries the day before and really ought to cook them, after which I think, "I could make noodle soup at home." And then I think about MDM Noodles again. The hand-pulled noodles are chewy, fresh, and delicious. The soups are full of flavor, deeply savory, and always satisfying. They're certainly delicious, but what I love most is that the bowls actually look beautiful. My dad always said Chinese cooking has to have three things: color, aroma, and taste (色香味), in that order. First, it has to look good. Then it has to smell good. Then, for Pete's sake, it had better taste good too. MDM gets all three right (色香味俱全). The soups are arranged with real care: vegetables layered, colors balanced, everything looking fresh and inviting. I eat a lot of noodle soup around Boston, and I have had some very pale, sad, skin-toned bowls. At that point, I might as well go home, save money, and make my own. MDM is not that. Their soups taste fresh, have tons of umami, and are pure comfort food for me. Noodle soup has always felt like home because my dad used to make it on Saturdays before driving me to music lessons. His noodle soups and MDM's are totally different, but somehow I still get that same feeling when I eat here. You do not come to MDM for ambiance. One time in the summer, I honestly couldn't tell whether they were open because the lights were so low. Were they saving energy? Were they creating mystery? Unclear. The service is good, but very direct. The prices are reasonable. Not cheap, exactly, but for the quality, flavor, and number of ingredients, absolutely worth it. I always leave full, happy, and very glad I ignored the groceries waiting at home.

I'm not asian but any means so I can't speak to the authenticity of natural quality of the old friend noodles, but it wasn't for me. Perhaps egg drop soup, scallion pancakes, or other items I'd go for. This place has a lot of good ratings so I might give it a second chance. The noodles tasted more like spaghetti was added in. I left so much food behind as a result. I more so would go for korean or japanese noodle spots from now on.

(A note about spice in Chinese cuisine: Szechuan spice is all about the humble peppercorn with its numbing quality, while Hunan spice is straight up chili pepper. I can't say my digestive system does well with either of them but I love the Hunan variety a bit more. After even one accidental bite of a peppercorn, my lips swell up badly.) Nice to have a solid Hunan restaurant, right by the Chestnut Hill reservoir. It's clean and bright inside, with an enormous menu that offers something for both adventurous and picky eaters alike. We got the: 1. Happy crispy chicken - I was not expecting this to be sweet! This one was very greasy and could've used some blotting. Interesting combo, good to get as a group. 2. Stir fried beef with pickled pepper - My family always orders some version of this dish when we go out to eat. This one was a little saucier than I prefer. 3. Stir fried cabbage - One of their most popular dishes and the one that my table loved the most. They get the cabbage to be so perfectly crispy. I will say, though, that the vegetable dishes are surprisingly expensive for such low-cost ingredients, everything in the veggie section is $20 or above. We also got a tomato egg soup that was a miss, way too much cornstarch that turned the soup into a thick goo. Also, watch out for the automatic tip that gets added. Usually places add auto gratuity to parties of 6 or more but I think MHHK adds it to 5 or more.

Starting with an iPad menu, our ordering experience with our waiter was subpar. We ended up with extra things ordered that weren't part of our initial order. In good news the food was absolutely delicious. Everything was fire and the waiter poured 5 glasses of water for 3 of us. So we could cool down without needing to flag him down. With the only non-Asian waiter in the restaurant, he struggled with basic elements of service. Inattentive. Requests went unmet (lemons for water). We sat for more than 15 mins after asking to box up leftovers and to close our check. This was all a little embarrassing, as we brought my boyfriend's father. After singing praises of the NYC spot, this was a disappointment.

I ordered the Chinese Crepe with Pork Sausage ($9) and the Takoyaki ($6.50) and it was ready in about 10 minutes. I also snacked on a free Japanese Kit-Kat mini bar while I waited. The savory crepe was made with wheat/grain & eggs and soft and rolled with small sausages (similar to vienna sausages) and topped with corriander. The 6 Takoyaki balls were fried, soft dough mix filled with octopus meat, another good savory snack. If I am hungry next time, I will probably order the Noodles with Soybean Paste with some Fried Dumplings.
