Love all the noodle dishes we had but my favorite is the spicy soup one or the cold noodle appetizer.

A quaint and delicious addition to the area! The waitress was very attentive and friendly. You seat yourself and order through the barcode. Everything is easy and pretty self explanatory if you use your phone. The menu is limited and prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend the Yunnan Style Soft Tofu Rice Noodle. It had a nice kick to it and the dish itself was pretty filling. The noodles were soft and savory. The peanuts, pickled mustard, and soft tofu worked well together and every bite was so yummy. I personally thought it was just a bit too salty but it was a delicious meal nonetheless!

Great food atmosphere and everything but the sweet and sour wontons were pretty hot / chili in them which was a shock. Would come back if I was in the area. Every table was filled and this place does quick business, food came out very fast

This place is phenomenal. We went close to closing time and ordered 2 noodle dishes for takeout. One had pork and tofu and was hot, and the other was peanut-y, and had chicken and carrots. We got regular spicy, but they also threw in some extra chili oil on top to kick up the heat. The noodles had great texture- super slurp-able. Highly recommend.

I have been waiting for Wei's to open and happy to say it is a delightful new edition to the Brighton area that exceeded my expectations! This little casual corner noodle shop has an authentic and exciting feel on a Friday night for dinner - with almost all tables full, lots of orders to go being made, and pop music playing. Despite the chaos the staff was super accommodating and the owner, Wei, even came to check that we enjoyed our meal! I really loved the Yunnan style soft tofu rice noodles - there was the perfect balance of spice and Szechuan, and the noodles were so soft, long, and bouncy. The menu is simple but adds to the restaurant's charm and I look forward to trying all the items!!

My wife and I couldn't be happier that this restaurant has opened in the place of a former rice noodle restaurant, South of the Clouds. We're also extremely happy because the rice noodles here taste even better. To clarify, the base broth that's used for the noodle dishes is incredible. It will have you slurping until the bowl is empty. It's not overly seasoned or oily. It's savory and light at the same time. The menu is small but they do every item incredibly well. We've already been three times since discovering it a few weeks ago. Ambiance is very cozy as well. Will definitely be coming back!

It reminds me a little of the old Shine's Fresh Asian in Belmont, except somehow cozier and a little more elevated. If you're looking for a place for a big group, this probably won't work. Most of the seating is bar-style facing a beautiful Chinese-inspired wallpaper. However, if you're eating solo, or with one other person, I think it's one of the best places around. There's something incredibly peaceful about settling in with a hot bowl of noodle soup while the clay pot keeps everything piping hot on a cold, snowy winter's day. The menu has so many different soups and hand-pulled noodles that I keep telling myself I'm going to branch out. In fact, I *thought* I had branched out...until my food arrived and I realized I had accidentally ordered the exact same dish I'd gotten the last time. Apparently my subconscious knows what it's likes. The culprit? The clay pot rice noodle soup with pork, Spam, chives, carrots, napa cabbage, baby bok choy, wood ear mushrooms, quail egg, tomato, green onions, and soy sauce. That is an absurd amount of yummy goodness packed into one bowl, and honestly, I can't even be mad at myself for ordering it twice. Could you get it to go? Sure. I've certainly done it before, but I think this is one of those meals that's meant to be eaten there. The clay pot keeps everything hot, the noodles stay just right, and the whole experience feels comforting in a way that doesn't quite survive a car ride home. I sincerely hope House of Noodles stays in Newton for a very long time. It's the kind of neighborhood restaurant that quietly becomes part of your routine, and I'm really glad it's here.

Fast casual style where you order on a tablet and the food it brought to your spot on the counter if you're dining in. Seems to be a popular spot for take out even during weekend lunch. Food was prepared fresh and served rather quickly. The pork gyoza was crispy and the wrapper was light, good snack or appetizer option. The hot and sour noodles were decent but not as sour as i expected. Still comforting and filling and I'd order it again as the price is quite fair. They have an extensive menu and I'm curious to try more of their food.

I came specifically for the biang biang noodles! Three-in-One Spicy Biang Biang Noodles: Super delicious!!! The noodles were perfectly wide and thick, with a wonderfully al dente texture. The pork was cut into large cubes, about one centimeter square, with a typical savory flavor from northern China. It was stewed until very flavorful, without any gamey taste, and the perfectly layered pork belly looked appealing. The tomato & egg stir-fry had plenty of eggs, not too shredded, making it very satisfying. It was only slightly thickened, resulting in a very smooth, scrambled egg texture, perfect for mixing with noodles. I ordered the chili powder mild, which was just right for me. It only had the aroma of oil, without being greasy at all. Although it was slightly different from the original Shaanxi version, I think it tastes even better, and the portion size was very generous, so I didn't mind the details. After all, I'm not from Shaanxi. Of course, it would be even better with some cabbage, wood ear mushrooms, or potato cubes, which was also the authentic recipe. After this successful experience, I'd love to try Wuhan hot dry noodles and Xinjiang stir-fried rice noodles next time!

The noodles had wide, bouncy noodles, The lamb possessed a fluffy texture similar to the fluffy tapioca powder treated beef at hot pot. The chili oil proved especially fragrant. The portion size for the noodles seemed on the lighter side. As an aside, when my friend first told me about "iFresh Noodle", I dismissed the establishment as the sort of multi-region do-every-style noodle place aimed at people that would consider orange chicken slightly exotic and did not plan on visiting. Only after he showed me the location and I realized it was the "Lanzhou Beef Noodles / 蘭州牛肉麵" place did I decide to try it.

And then I think about MDM Noodles again. The hand-pulled noodles are chewy, fresh, and delicious. The soups are full of flavor, deeply savory, and always satisfying. They're certainly delicious, but what I love most is that the bowls actually look beautiful. My dad always said Chinese cooking has to have three things: color, aroma, and taste (色香味), in that order. First, it has to look good. Then it has to smell good. Then, for Pete's sake, it had better taste good too. MDM gets all three right (色香味俱全). The soups are arranged with real care: vegetables layered, colors balanced, everything looking fresh and inviting. I eat a lot of noodle soup around Boston, and I have had some very pale, sad, skin-toned bowls. At that point, I might as well go home, save money, and make my own. MDM is not that. Their soups taste fresh, have tons of umami, and are pure comfort food for me. Noodle soup has always felt like home because my dad used to make it on Saturdays before driving me to music lessons. His noodle soups and MDM's are totally different, but somehow I still get that same feeling when I eat here. You do not come to MDM for ambiance. One time in the summer, I honestly couldn't tell whether they were open because the lights were so low. Were they saving energy? Were they creating mystery? Unclear. The service is good, but very direct. The prices are reasonable. Not cheap, exactly, but for the quality, flavor, and number of ingredients, absolutely worth it. I always leave full, happy, and very glad I ignored the groceries waiting at home.

I'm not asian but any means so I can't speak to the authenticity of natural quality of the old friend noodles, but it wasn't for me. Perhaps egg drop soup, scallion pancakes, or other items I'd go for. This place has a lot of good ratings so I might give it a second chance. The noodles tasted more like spaghetti was added in. I left so much food behind as a result. I more so would go for korean or japanese noodle spots from now on.

Nice quality tables and chairs as well as decorations creates an inviting environment. The warmth of the staff also makes it inviting. Food Type: What you would expect like Street food, classics. noodles and curries and a few regional specialties. Prices: Reasonable for food of this quality. We spent $90 pre-tip for three including an appetizer and a few beers (for me only). Food Quality: Very Good. We had three dishes and an appetizer and shared everything. Singha and Leo beer available as expected washed it down. I have been to Thailand on business trips and vacation and by no means have a palette capable of detecting nuances in regional dishes (I can a bit for Korean and Japanese due to extended time spent there), but could taste it was a bit playing to the American tastes. Still really good. Service: Friendly and generally fast. Minus (-) The meals came out separately. Meal one came with the appetizer. Then 7-10 minutes the second meal. Then 7-10 minutes the third meal. If eating American style ie everyone eats only their own meal, this would be a real problem. As my wife is Korean we usually eat family style (we often share meals at American restaurants, why not, you get to try more dishes), so this was not an issue really. The pluses outweigh negative it is still 4.5 rounder to 5. Absolutely worth a try. Enjoy!

The Pla Pad Kun Chai which is a fried cod fillet, with a mix of root spices and Chinese celery, had some complex flavors that didn't pan out - the fish itself was breaded in a batter that was perhaps a bit too MSG-laden, and not enough distinctive a flavor to justify its saltiness; and the Chinese celery was really tough, which didn't make for a good bite of texture. The green onions were too crispy relative to the other alliums. The Kao Soi Brisket had some decent beef pieces, but then some of the other pieces were way tough. The soup (or is it a sauce?) was way thick, and overall the dish was overly salted. There also needs to be more noodle, and more mustard green overall. The curry puff was a good idea, but the puff itself was rather dry, and not particularly well integrated with the chicken, potatoes, and alliums. The stuffing might also have been underseasoned. In general the dishes demonstrate expert preparation, but the concepts need reworking. The new environment (across the street from the former location) is a tad loud when populated with many diners, though visually it's a pleasant place to dine. The servers were attentive and respectful.

The noodles themselves I wish were chewier (got the 'flat' but probably should have gone for 'extra wide'), and perhaps it'd been nice to have some different textures inside the soup (e.g. something crunchy). The scallions in the soup were also too wide, and needed to be sliced more thinly. The beef pancake was quite decent, though the edges didn't have enough beef and the middles had too much beef. The beef was tender, though I might have liked it more flaky. The sauce inside the pancake was somewhat unevenly applied, and a bit too sweet. I wonder if a dipping sauce (maybe a vinegar?) would have helped. The blueberry with mashed yams was fascinating. It was listed under appetizers, and wondered why the dish came out last. But the dish was a bit sweet (naturally!) and so it actually worked as a light modest dessert! The wait staff was spot on after all in putting out the dish last. The stir-fried cabbage dish was beautiful! It was appropriately crunch, yet using good wok hey. The salt level was a bit high, but the spice level was good. Their spice ratings were a bit timid to what I encounter in Szechuan restaurants (the 'regular' level seemed to be more 'mild-regular').
