Came here for the ayce and left completely satisfied. Everything we had was delicious, but the standout for me was the wagyu items. The quality was on point and cooked up beautifully. My absolute favorite though was the kalbi, it was buttery, tender, and full of flavor. Surprisingly, one of the highlights was the curry. It was so good I ended up having three bowls of it! Definitely not something I expected to enjoy that much at a yakiniku spot but it was fantastic. Overall, Hiromi-Ya is a great choice if you're looking to get your money's worth. The quality of the meats, the flavors, and the sheer amount you can eat makes it well worth the price. I'd happily come back for round two.

My friend and I wanted to try out an Izakaya place on Kapahulu. Since I didn't have reservation, the wait would be over 2 hours past 8 pm. So no thank you! So I had to figure out what we could eat around here on Kapahulu. I came across Hiromi Ya on my trusted Yelp app on my phone. It is a AYCE Miyazaki A5 wagyu. It was intriguing so we decided to give it a try. We were able to get seated right away. Some of the patrons were Japanese so it was a good sign. The AYCE was around $60. The meat quality was very good. I like the tongue was slightly thicker than most yakiniku places. The wagyu was excellent as expected. I read some negative reviews about the size of the meat and how much you could order. I didn't have that issue at all. The service was good and attentive. The vibe of this place is like casual and not pretentious. It was my first time to eat at a portable yakiniku grill. It was perfectly fine. I loved the seaweed soup too. The kimchee soup could have been hotter in terms of temperature. There were different types of rice to choose from. If you were a big eater, you probably have to keep ordering several rounds though. But we were full after a couple rounds. We enjoyed the meal. I would come again since the quality of the meat was very good.

Sorry, this review is a bit late. This location is easy to overlook nearby Cha To Gelato and Yakitori Glad. Currently, as of June 2025, they only have AYCE yakiniku and sides. Yes, even the side dishes like Curry Rice, Orange Jelly, and Kim Chee are unlimited with the meat. Also note, they are BYOB so no alcohol unless you bring your own. All options are 90 minutes and you can select anything off their menus to eat with each order. Some options are limited each time you put in a order but you may keep ordering them. Overall, the quality and quantity of food is really good and it isn't too smokey for a Yakiniku spot. In all honesty, all of the meats were great. Even the chicken! There's lemon juice, red miso, and a yakiniku sauce with a nice hint of ginger to choose from and all 3 paired well with everything. Even the Mikan (Orange) Jelly was a nice way to end the meal. In terms of quality and service, this is one of the best. I highly recommend coming to this location- please visit and hopefully you have the same wonderful experience I did.

This place was honestly amazing. From the moment we sat down, the staff made us feel super welcome and comfortable. The service was impeccable. They were attentive without being overbearing and made sure we had everything we needed the entire time. The wagyu was absolutely delicious. You could tell it was high quality and fresh. Every cut was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. We tried a few different kinds and each one was better than the last. My favorite was the geta kalbi It was the kind of meal where every bite makes you smile. The overall atmosphere was relaxing and enjoyable. It felt like the perfect spot to enjoy great food with friends or someone special. We left completely satisfied and already excited to come back. Highly recommend this place to anyone who loves good food and great service.

The girls working here are ultra attentive. Even to my annoying 3 year old who thinks she's a busgirl. High quality meats are the specialty with wagyu, beef tongue and sukiyaki being my highest recommendation. It's BYOB so I packed a cooler of beers white and red wine to accompany the gorgeous meats. All flown in from Japan. Make a reservation as you can see seating is a commodity.

A few things to consider or to be aware before dining here. 90 min seating limit, the clock starts ticking the moment your reservation starts, and not when they serve the food. Our mistake is that it took us awhile to decide what to order. The grill is really tiny for four person and it took longer than expected to cook the food. The oil splatters all over when cooking as the grill sits on top of the table. There is also no smoke ventilation so you will be smelling like yakiniku after dining. Overall, we enjoyed the food but didn't have time to cook our food with the option 2 all you can eat. With that said, I don't think it's worth it. They should have given us two grills for 4 people.

Grill Marks of Excellence If Tokyo and Honolulu had a smoky, buttery love child, it would be Yakiniku Hiromi-ya on Kapahulu. I brought my husband here for an early Father's Day dinner and immediately felt like we had teleported back to a cozy grill joint tucked in a Shibuya alley. All-you-can-eat Wagyu, BYOB, and a personal grill at your table so you get to play chef (don't let the waygu sit too long, medium rare is perfect). Pro tip for next time: we'll ask for the Wagyu without sauce -- the quality of the beef deserves its own solo. My mini curry rice was delicious and my husband's yakiniku rice bowl was the kind of comforting carb moment worth writing home (or Yelp) about. And let's talk about the butter corn -- served in a tiny tin, it slowly sizzled into golden perfection while we grilled. It felt like a buttery side hustle to the main act. Service was top-notch -- friendly, fast, and super attentive. The vibe is relaxed with pink and green velvet chairs and while the back lounge looked cozy, we were seated at a table. We'll definitely be back -- maybe later in the evening because parking in the back was pretty tight and street parking is tough.

I liked it. Previous reviews don't do this place justice. Yes the prices are a little high and portions aren't that big. But if you get the set menu plus add on a few meats it's not too bad. The quality of the meat is really high and this is a cool fusion of Japanese and korean style dishes. The restaurant is obviously Japanese styled so please expect polite waiters, but also them allowing you time to socialize. If you need something just ask and they'll accommodate. Currently it's BYOB so you can make the experience as much as you like.

They don't take reservations during that window, but there were plenty of seats, so no stress about getting a table. The house red that day was Bonanza Cabernet Sauvignon -- solid and easy to drink. For food, I ordered the Szechuan Pork Ribs and the Shibby Roll. I've had the ribs at the Hawaii Kai location as well, and every time I feel like they'd be perfect with a side of rice... and definitely some wet napkins. The rolls were good, though I would've preferred them not deep‑fried so the fish flavor could stand out more. One piece even had a small fish bone -- luckily I caught it before swallowing. Service was excellent overall. Multiple staff members checked in, which sometimes felt a bit repetitive since they didn't seem to know who had already stopped by, but I'd still take that over being ignored. Overall, I enjoyed the food and the experience. If they expand the happy hour food and drink options a bit more, I'd happily come back.

The progression of dishes felt thoughtful and creative-- * Crispy Salt & Vinegar Chicken Skin (the perfect starter crunch) * Soupe de Poisson (deep, comforting flavors) * Pina Colada Granita (a refreshing palate cleanser) * Pan Seared Scallops (my personal favorite--perfectly caramelized and tender) * Double Cut Rack of Lamb (succulent and cooked to perfection) * Lemon Crème Brûlée Tart (a sweet, bright finish) Every plate was elegant, well-executed, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere strikes a balance between sophisticated and welcoming. Dim lighting, intimate tables, and quiet elegance make you feel like you've stepped into a hidden gem in the middle of Kaimuki. Honestly, I felt like a celebrity dining here. Service was polished but never pretentious--our server was attentive, knowledgeable about the courses, and kept the pacing of the meal just right. I WISH I COULD GIVE MORE STARS!!!! WORTH THE PRICE! FOOD AND SERVICE IS OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!…read more Okay seriously, I've been to a ton of expensive high end restaurants and none have impressed me like this Morimoto's. When I tell you everything that came out was amazing.... Holy moly it was SO TASTY. EVERYTHING! I was even impressed with the fried rice with how much they served and how much was in it. I personally loved the fish carpaccio, rib eye, hamachi kama, wok vegetables and malasadas for dessert. The orange chicken was my least favorite but it was still good. Oh and the STICKY RIBS...... you HAVE to get them. So crispy yet tender.... I loved how everything we had bursted in my mouth with flavor and was something I couldn't make to that level at home. Service was amazing like any other fine dining restaurant, but for the first time, I felt like this one was worth the money for how good the food was. I will definitely be back!

My bad review is entirely based on how terrible the food was. For context, we ordered Tonkatsu…read moreramen and Tsukemen dipping ramen. Ramen, according to the server, was the most popular thing on the menu, so how likely could it get messed up? Tonkatsu: Rich, but lacked any salt or had very little. We requested some salt and that instantly made the ramen better. The noodles had enough salt to carry it, but the broth was not great. It tasted like the broth was watered down or reconstituted, however no seasoning was added to re-adjust the broth. Broth: Had little salt and lacked punch, umami, and was brown instead of white. Noodles: Had enough salt to taste good, but was slightly overcooked Pork: Extremely bland. Tasted like zero salt was added during cooking. Toppings: Greatly lacking in toppings Tsukemen: The Tsukemen had a lot of the same issues. Now being a dipping ramen, the broth should be even richer and more flavorful than any normal ramen. Tsukemen -- no matter where you have it in Japan, should be richer and saltier than most broths, but the broth here was severely lacking. For $26 a bowl this was worse than your DIY frozen ramen packs. Now I'm not asking for Japan-level of ramen mastery here, this is after all, just a tourist spot -- but if your Tonkatsu is the best selling item, you have to step it up. Our server did mention that some people complained about the amount of salt in ramen, so they adjusted it. But dare I say, instead of diluting the normal salt/seasoning amount for everyone, couldn't you just add a separate, flavor-light version for people inexperienced with ramen, instead of diluting the original for everyone else? If you're reading this Mr. Morimoto, I would highly encourage you to fly here and order the ramen. I think you and I would share the same opinions. P.S. I've also been to your other Morimoto spots and it was not this bad.
