I am a sucker for some hawaiian bbq & when I saw this place by my mom's - I knew I had to stop by and try it out. I got the HoAloha BBQ Mix plate, it comes with BBQ chicken, BBQ beef & 1 piece of bbq short rib. I got all mac no rice. The mac was a little bit on the bland side but it wasn't too bad. My mom got the HoAloha Chicken Mix, that came with Chicken Katsu & BBQ Chicken. She got hers with rice and a salad. She really liked the salad dressing. We also tried the BBQ Chicken cheesy fries - they were really good. The musubis were okay, a little bit more rice then i would've liked but nonetheless still good. I got the crispy spam musubi and the brulee spam musubi.

Food took a while but what a great deal and it was delicious. If you get the loco moco I would ask for extra gravy.

A lot of food. Really good food. It's fresh and homemade. I really enjoyed my lunch. Inside is very clean and welcoming. The employee was very nice. I would come back here.

Food is amazing and will get you full. Honestly, no need for a plate if you're getting musubi. It's very filling and delicious. They don't skimp on rice AND protein. Service was nice and the inside is so chill. Nice and quiet just how I like when eating. Come here if you want nice Hawaiian and Hawaiian inspired foods!

Stopped by on Saturday, 10/19/24 during lunch time. Ordered the following: - 1 Chicken Katsu Bowl = $9.95 - 1 Furikake French Fries = $6.45 - 1 Hoaloha Katsu Mix (BBQ Beef, Short Ribs, Chicken Katsu) Plate with Green Salad = $17.95 - 1 Fish Katsu Bowl = $9.85 SUBTOTAL = $44.20 TAX = $3.86 TOTAL = $48.06 So good and I believe this place recently opened up, so the interiors and overall atmosphere were very clean and minimal. Food was great and even had leftovers. :)

This was my second time at this restaurant. Parking is fairly easy and the staff was nice. The decor was also nice inside. However, it took almost 20 minutes to get my food. I also chose my meal based off of the picture from other reviews and the egg was so thin compared to what I had seen from others. They were also out of Thai tea. Pretty disappointed and not sure if I'll be returning.

I drove by recently and saw that they opened. It's near Wells Fargo Bank and Wingstop. I bought their fried spam musubi ($7.75) and BBQ Mix plate ($17.85) which came with two scoops of white rice and macaroni salad. It was ok, I do like the bbq chicken more than the beef since the beef was chewy. I would try a different type of spam musubi. The place is clean with plenty of seating. The staff was nice.

I came to this place before I thought it was pretty good the first time. I must've had a different cook today or something, but quality wasn't there/:

We ordered the mixed chicken plate and the grilled spam musubi. I liked the crispness of the chicken katsu which paired nicely with the mac salad. The bbq chicken with teriyaki sauce was also a good match. There's a lot of musubi options on the menu but I stuck to the original and it did not disappoint. Plus the portions are generous and it's a good spot to eat in or do takeout with many tables inside. The location is clean and the staff is very friendly.

The bad: Burnt BBQ chicken... way too much rice in the masubi. The good: the katsu was very good and the service was pleasant.

Stopped by HoAloha Hawaiian for takeout. I ordered the Fire island BBQ Beef Plate & Katsu Mix Plate (however they gave me the wrong plate). Fire island plate was super spicy, but really tasty! Chicken Katsu plate was good as well, but not what I ordered unfortunately. You can choose your side and I went with the Mac Salad. No flavor, very bland, and too many carrots. I did order a couple sides (loco moko gravy & fire island sauce) which did make it better. As for the portion sizes, it was a bit on the smaller side, I was hoping for a little more especially for the price. It is on the pricier side. Overall I give it a 7/10

Today's order was: bbq beef: marinated savoriness and tender; short rib (bit of an up charge) grilled perfectly with tender, juicy, well marbled bites; and teriyaki chicken that's always moist. Mac salad is luxuriously creamy that compliments the rich and savory meats, while rice sops up the delicious sauces. Heck, I'm a sucker for the bed of cabbage for the same reason! You just can't go wrong here. Friendly, fast, delicious, and fairly priced. It's what keeps us coming back.

Plenty of parking in the plaza since it's huge, but it can get quite busy (mostly looks like people for Starbucks and the grocery store though). Rodeo X was mostly empty when I went, hopefully it picks up because man that was sad to see. Maybe food halls weren't the answer to the economy (looking at you Haven City and Blossom Market Hall amongst others). Anyways, there were 2 families there and another person ordering to go and they all had food from Shootz. Really says a lot about how it's a crowd favorite. There was no line when I ordered and they called my name to pick up my order fairly quickly. I believe they have an app, or the very least you can order ahead of time for pick up. For my lunch, I got the: 1) Mint Peach Limeade: -No ice or sweetness adjustments, I got it as is and it's from an ever flowing machine at the front next to the register. Similar to those machines that cycle through lemonade at Hot Dog on a Stick. Got this immediately. -Not bad. Like slightly milky sweet peach drink with a subtle mint after taste. Pretty unique, the reason why I immediately resonated with wanting to order it. 2) Kimchi Butter Katsu Chicken: -I got this spicy. -Comes with 2 decently sized cut slabs of chicken katsu. Super juicy, deliciously crisp exterior. Covered in their signature kimchi butter all over the chicken and their rice. It was to the point where I JUST picked it up and some was already coagulating on the edge of the to go box. -Mega indicator of how rich and indulgent, and likely not healthy for you but delicious as a fried food treat once in awhile. -Generous portions of crisp green onions and furikake on top. -Each bite was rich and delicious. Usually rice is just a carb to help with the savory and salty intake of a protein, but it was also made really addicting with the kimchi butter. There's a slight kick from the spice, but nothing substantial. Some of that spicy powder was also on top of the mac salad (also rich and delicious). -Easily lots of butter, mayo, etc. used so of course it's going to be mega good. I had to stop myself from inhaling the dish so I can take some back for my family to try too. Good stuff, I'd definitely come back, probably with others, hopefully at a closer location to try more of their menu (it's limited but they're super good at what they do) and eat more of their deliciously decadent and filling food.

The cashiers and workers are nice, work hard, and the food comes out fast. It seems like most of their business is online ordering for pick up. Everything behind the counter and in the kitchen was spotless. The not-so good: The restaurant is located inside a food court and there are no signs outside the building that name the restaurants that are inside. We had to turn on Maps to find the location. I'm not sure if the tables inside are cleaned by the individual restaurants or are cleaned by a food court employee... but we had to check for sticky tables when trying to find a seat. The Mac salad has tuna in it. It's not to my liking but my husband really enjoyed it. I highly recommend splitting a combo plate(s) with your favorite person and try to avoid leftovers. The reheated katsu and rice just isn't the same as when it's fresh.... So even with having to check the tables - I do recommend eating at the food court for the freshest and tastiest experience

Usually I find the workers at Ono to be super friendly and nice, but the experience I had tonight…read morewas kind of an aberration. Yes, I arrived 50 minutes before they were closing, but it certainly didn't warrant being treated like I had wrecked wedding plans. First off, the first was good as usual. I was in the mood for shrimp and Ono is pretty reliable at making an inexpensive breaded shrimp entree. The BBQ chicken was fairly delicious. Ono making inedible food is never the problem. They consistently rock everything they offer on their menu. As some of you know, it's a pet peeve of mine when I call special attention to eating it there as opposed to getting it to go. I like taking my time--still being respectful if they're closing--to eat my meals while the food is piping hot, while I have access to refills if I need it, and while I still have the ability to order more while I'm there if I'm still hungry. I hate when food joints place everything in containers and bag it all up, trying to kick you out the door. It ruins the ambience of meals being a time to relax and recalibrate. Not to mention I appreciate the opportunity to take pictures for Yelp on a plate or platter while the food is looking particularly photogenic. I can forgive a place if they no longer use real plates or platters, opting for a container. But I despise having to remove my food from a plastic bag that I don't need and then becomes a thing that goes into the trash because it's now used. So it was that I asked for a tray so I could take my dinner to a table. Instead of giving me one though, the worker looked like she wanted to tell me no, that eating in-house wasn't allowed. She turned to her co-worker saying, this guy wants tray. The second worker then asked me, "Do you really need a tray?" I'm pretty sure that's not up to the worker to decide if I require a tray. That's purely a decision on whether my current food load, condiments, sauces, and utensils warrant having a medium by which to ferry all of it to my table. After assuring her that, yes, indeed, I needed a tray, she finally handed one over. After that, maybe it was part of their closing duties, but they constantly had one worker sweeping the floor, wiping the tables, pushing the chairs in, &c... while I was trying to eat. It was one step away from being surveilled during my meal. Perhaps they thought they could catch me underutilizing said tray to get a picture for a gotcha moment. Or maybe they just generally dislike when customers use trays. I don't know. All I know is it gave the whole meal a feeling of being on the clock, having such helicopter tactics utilized against me. It tainted the whole meal. I hate having people moving around me when I'm trying to eat, but it's especially unnerving when it feels targeted to make me uncomfortable. That's some passive aggressive silliness. As aforementioned, the food was still delectable. You really can't go wrong with Hawaiian food when you're in a certain mood--shrimp or otherwise. But I don't know how often I'll be coming to this location if this retaliatory behavior is what I can expect when I humbly give directions to eat my food there and utilize one of their most sacred trays.

They did provide individual forks and knives, but they did not provide any serving spoons or catering utensils for the trays of food. We asked very nicely because with large office orders like this, we've received serving utensils in the past. For a $1,500 order meant to feed a large group, it seems reasonable to expect the basic utensils needed to actually serve the food, or at least to be clearly told ahead of time that they would not be included. It caused a major inconvenience during our event because we had trays of food with nothing to serve them with. If you're placing a large order here for an office, party, or event, make sure you specifically ask for serving spoons and catering utensils, because apparently they are not automatically included even with a $1,500 order. For the amount of money we spent, the lack of basic serving utensils was extremely frustrating and disappointing and will not be back or recommended this place .
