This USED to be one of my favorite places and I USED to go at least twice a month, sometimes more often. Like so many places though, they took advantage of the Covid-era inflation and have raised their prices much more than warranted. My favorite was the Garlic Shrimp plate, but the price has DOUBLED in the last couple of years, and I refuse to be gouged. The cost of the other plates is now higher than the shrimp used to be too. The Hawaiian rice was tasty but always overpriced considering the little portion of meat in it. This is not chain restaurant, so I seriously doubt they are paying their staff the fast-food wage that CA mandates for fast-food workers, so I chalk it up to price gouging. Chicken, rice and macaroni prices have not doubled, and I can buy over 2 lbs of shrimp for $18 (total cost of Garlic Shrimp plate) vs the 14 shrimp on the Garlic Shrimp plate. So, they've lost a steady customer because of their greed. I'd go back if their prices were more reasonable because I used to enjoy most of the dishes I tried. After reading a few other reviews, it sounds like the owners have changed and the nice guy that used to work the front is now gone since I've been there over a yr ago. If they bothered to post a menu online, I could see if the prices are now more reasonable and I'd try it again. That's why I checked out their website today, but no luck. read more

I recommend Wok & Grill. It's freshly cooked food that's generously portioned and affordable. It's satisfying and filling. Wok & Grill sells Chinese and Hawaiian food. I ordered the Chicken Combo (Chicken Katsu & BBQ Chicken - $13.19) and Spam Musubi ($5.89). The Chicken Combo is a lot of food. The Chicken Katsu is crisp, large, and crunchy. The BBQ Chicken is thick, peppery, and moist. The rice and cabbage are fresh. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy the macaroni salad; it tasted like water mixed with leftover mayonnaise. Thankfully, the macaroni salad's lingering aftertaste can easily be ignored. Also, I enjoyed the Spam Musubi. Its appearance is underwhelming; however, the flavors and textures are fantastic. Too many other places sell rubbery, chewy seaweed; squishy, spongey rice; and overly-sweet, mushy spam. Wok & Grill avoids these errors. I arrived at Wok & Grill on a Friday (around 12:16PM). The food arrived in 13 minutes. I noticed many customers entering and exiting. Wok & Grill's ambiance is mixed. The counter looks like a gasoline station window; it's surrounded by transparent plastic windows. The staff speaks into a mini microphone to communicate; sometimes the words are muffled. The location is also warm and slightly humid. The location has a restroom and several tables to dine-in. The music is barely audible; the hum from the soda vending machine is the loudest sound. The location is also relatively clean; I had to wipe off some tiny crumbs from my seat before sitting down. However, staff appears very dedicated. The chefs are cooking nonstop, and its cashier appears passionate when welcoming new customers. I noticed how staff flamboyantly juggled a plastic to-go bag between hands before handing the item. "I can read your mind," he'd playfully explain, before quickly saying "Hola!" to a new customer. Overall, Wok & Grill is easy to recommend if you're nearby. The food is great value; the staff is passionate; and the portions are large and tasty. Wok & Grill is not a unique experience, but it's a solid choice. read more

We were in Chino shopping and afterwards wanted to eat Chinese food on this cold, wet and windy day. Did a Google search and Wok & Grill popped up. I am so glad it did. The spot is located on the outskirts of a business park and it had a 4.3 star rating. We arrived and there was an A health placard displayed. Its a Mom & Pop eatery. The food is freshly cooked to order. It is tasty and with the current market as it is - the servings were generous. The pictures are 2 of the combination plates. One protein is $11 plate and a 2 protein plate is $13. What a value! We don't normally shop in Chino but if we do - I will go here again for my meal. Staff are friendly. Thanks Tony! read more

My favorite Chinese food and Hawaiian BBQ food in the area!! Been coming here for years. Long over due for me to post a review. They give you generous portions. Prices are reasonable. Wait time have always been short. Can't recommend this place enough!! Can't go wrong with their orange chicken, chow mein, macaroni salad, chicken katsu, or giant fried rice plates. We were waiting a while for the woman to come back to the register and she saw us from the back and ignored us. I've always enjoyed this restaurant, but it's been years since I've eaten here. After trying it again, I'd consider this one of the best places to get Chinese food in the area. Last night we ordered food to go. I tried spam musubi, bbq chicken musubi, orange chicken, house fried rice, and jalapeño beef. The rice at this place is cooked to perfection, whether it's on a musubi, fried, or just steamed. The spam musubis were phenomenal, better than just about any Hawaiian restaurant in the area. The house fried rice was also top-notch, as well as the jalapeno beef. I wasn't the biggest fan of the BBQ chicken or chow mein, though. We loved....Keyword, loved this place. The Hawaiian BBQ WAS consistently good, however, recently it is mediocre at best. I'm not sure who/what changed but it will no longer be our go to place. If you're familiar with the cheap Chinese food places around So. Cal. ...... the ones that offer up a combo meal, piled insanely high in a foam clamshell tray that weighs 5 pounds... where you pick from 8 or 9 steam pans... with rice, chow mein or fried rice ....... This place is similar, but everything is made fresh! I paid $10 or $11 and had to wait 5 minutes or so. Once ready, it was piping hot and super fresh. That's a huge bonus, especially with my orange chicken. Nice and crispy. Everything was 5-star worthy except the meat quality. It was alright but it cost them that coveted and elusive 5th star. Longer review: Don't let the small plaza trick you, this place has big flavor at an incredible price. My family comes here constantly because their value and mini meals give you everything you need. My husband and I literally order once a week from wok and grill. my orders always the same. I always get the barbecue mix because it is absolutely delicious and the amount of food you get is enough to last you for two days. My husband has changed it up and tried many items on the menu. He has tried the chicken katsu, house fried rice, house chow mein, orange chicken and the jalapeño chicken. I don't know how to help you. I think his favorite might be the chicken Katsu, because that is his reoccurring order. The service is always very friendly and they are very accommodating. First timer! Happened to be in the area and looked up places nearby. Walked in to a very clean and uncrowded place with only one family waiting for their order. Staff was friendly and patient while we decided what we wanted to try. We had a bit of a drive to get back home so we decided on getting our order to go which was ready in less then 10 minutes. The sauces were self-serve which is rare but loved it so we could get as much extra Katsu sauce as we wanted. This is not your average chain, their macaroni salad is (chef kiss) and the katsu nice and crunchy, masubi, bbq chicken and short ribs are yummay! We've never dined in so cannot speak on that.
