Huge fan of Hoang Lan. My favorite BBH in the Seattle area. Have been going here since I was a child and I think about it on a monthly basis. The pork meatballs are the best I've had in BBH. They give a good amount of different kinds of meat and the soup is nice and flavorful. Service is super quick. Very casual spot, seating may feel a little crowded but I guess can be considered cozy. Would also recommend the banh bot loc. Loveee the chewy texture and flavors. Good spot if you're craving BBH!

Feel just like home. Warm bowl of hearty spicy broth in a small cozy shop. Fast and friendly workers. If I live here, I'd come here every week. Bonus point that's right by the Link station. Love it!

I've never had bun bo hue before, but I'm definitely going to come back and have it again! My friend brought me out here for authentic Vietnamese food, and it definitely fit the bill. The tables are a bit cramped, and you sit next to other groups, but the food comes out fast and so tasty it's worth it. Come at off hours so you don't wait for too long - the restaurant was pretty full even coming after lunch time.

This is not a fancy spot by any means - come here for some authentic, comforting noodle soup. Every time I take the link past Othello I always see this spot and tell myself I need to try it. I finally got to do so! The space inside is small and cramped, and we were seated at a long table right next to some other people. I came with the goal of trying their bun bo hue, which has been recommended as the best in Seattle. They also have a few other menu options with the classic Vietnamese dishes. The bun bo hue came out nice and hot, with a side of fresh veggies. There was meatballs, beef slices, pork blood, pork feet, and thick rice noodles inside. The broth was absolute perfection - so well seasoned and paired with the noodles perfectly. I loved how chewy the noodles were and they were also super generous with the amount of meat. I'd definitely come back when craving that authentic bowl of noodles! Service was also really friendly :)

The best Bún Bò Huế in Seattle, hands down! I keep coming back for it. Plus, they offer fantastic traditional Huế cakes like Bánh Lọc and Bánh Nậm for takeout.

Cozy spot in sea tac area to get authentic viet noodles. Their bun bo hue very hearty and flavorful. Service was quick for an in and out lunch. They didn't ask for spice level and so it did come out a bit spicy but it was the perfect level of spiciness.

i recommend this place like it's my job. insanely good BBH. i haven't had much from the rest of the menu but what i have had was delicious. if you're looking for a perfect food day, take the light rail here (it's right outside othello station) and get BBH and a salty lime soda then hit Che Dessert next door. pretty small so if it's busy you may not get a seat, but the tables turn over quickly and i've never had an issue.

My grandpa took me here one time, so I knew it had to be good because he is a very picky man when it comes to Vietnamese restaurants. This was my second visit, and it is still great. Just across the street from the Othello Link Station, it is a perfect stop to or from the airport for a quick and hearty meal. It is a small restaurant, but it was pretty busy for a Friday lunch! We were seated immediately, and our server was really nice and gave us a big table because we had our luggage with us. It was a cold day, so I obviously had to order a warm, comforting bowl of pho. Which was a terrific choice because they did not skimp on the meats and the broth was full of flavor. Some FYIs - There is only a $1 difference between the small and large size for the noodle soup dishes! They serve hot tea instead of water, but I'm sure you can ask for water instead if that isn't your cup of tea. You will pay at the front when you are done, they won't bring you a check.

I was pretty excited to try this place for bún bò huế, but honestly, my experience was a bit underwhelming. As soon as you walk in, you're hit with the delicious smell of pho broth, which definitely sets the mood. But then, when we sat down, the table had this wet mildew smell, likely from their towels, which was pretty off-putting. My bún (noodles) were overcooked, which is a letdown for me. While I appreciated that their bún bò huế included pig's feet (a nice touch), the broth itself was just okay--definitely not spicy at all. One good thing was they had fermented shrimp paste, which is not always available at every bún bò huế spot in Seattle, so that was a plus. However, my friend ordered a dry hủ tiếu entrée, and it was really disappointing--it just tasted like peanuty hoisin sauce, and didn't have that authentic Hủ Tiếu Nam Vang flavor at all. Overall, I don't think I'll be rushing back. Still on the hunt for a good BBH spot unfortunately.

Typical hole-in-the-wall mom/pop spot with great authentic Vietnamese food. Been here multiple times and it's consistently great. Bun Bo Hue is flavorful with a rich and meaty taste. Bun Rieu is on point. Cha lua (pork cake) is super tasty. Efficient service, can get jam packed on the weekends but the food usually comes out quickly. Parking lot nearby can be hard to navigate but it's worth the effort!

A hidden gam! If you're looking for delicious and well-priced Viet food, this is the place to go! I had their bun Bo hue and it was pretty good. For a large it was only $13! We had their bun rieu and it was pretty good as well. Try their shrimp rice ball if you're looking for a good appetite! The service here was pretty good. Servers were attentive and helpful and the food didn't take long to make. The ambiance of the restaurant is good. Authentic Vietnamese restaurant atmosphere. There's a decent amount of seating.

It's a small restaurant and certainly busy! I came to eat on a Saturday afternoon around 2pm and all the tables were full. It's also likely going to be a communal dining experience if you've got a small group or if you are eating by yourself. I ordered the bun rieu and I'm pleased with it! I'd say the flavor was light, bordering on a little bland, and the meatballs had a spongy texture to it. It's a hectic spot with crowded seating and a busy environment but it's still a comforting spot for a good bowl of soup.

Seattle seems to have tons of Vietnamese restaurants. My parents raved about Hoang Lan since they mentioned the broth tends to be lighter and less oily. My son is also gradually acquiring the taste of grilled pork over rice, and my wife loves BBH (Spicy Pork Blood Noodle Soup). Sounds like a win-win-win! The restaurant shared a huge parking lot with Safeway, and its tucked way in the back corner of the lot. You enter through the back hallway with bathroom and kitchen, but you'll eventually reach the dining area. Whew, so its not a hole-in-wall after all. The food here is legit, especially grilled pork over broken rice. The pork is marinated and juicy, but note you may need to trim around the fat and bone to get that awesome meat. I also enjoy the texture of broken rice since it seems to soak up flavor more by not sticking together. My 3yo son loved this dish - he gobbled up the pork as soon as I cut it for him. My dish was the grilled chicken vermicelli. Solid dish, and it seems like they threw in some pork sausage too. Wife enjoyed BBH but didn't care for pig feet. She commented her favorite BBH is Pho Saigon City in Pleasanton, CA. Overall 4 stars - a very good Vietnamese place. They even have this pork four ways rice dish with grilled, shredded, skin, and sausage preparations that I'll definitely want to try next time in Seattle!

The noodles were a good consistency of texture and flavor. We also got the chive and pork handmade dumplings. Consistency was good, but the flavor was just okay. I ordered the fried tofu bao which I wasn't sure what to expect, but it turned out to be a good choice. The fried tofu is paired with nicely seasoned chili sauce in a crispy bun. Since my last review the restaurant has closed and reopened, and expanded their menu, to now include more dumplings and varieties of noodles. This being my first visit back in a while, I had to get the spicy cumin lamb biang biang noodles. However I had to try some dumplings, so we shared the lamb dumplings, while my dinner buddy had the spicy cumin lamb rice noodle soup (the same kind of noodles you'd get at a ten second yunnan noodle type of place). They also now have a complimentary side dish bar that has seaweed salad, peanuts, and kimci, as well as some condiment type things like scallions and minced garlic. I helped myself to some seaweed salad to nibble on while waiting for our food, and it was good although food comes out quickly enough that you don't necessarily have to rely on it unless you're really chomping at the bit. The spicy cumin lamb biang biang noodles are just as good as I remember. The biang biang noodles here are perfectly chewy, and the rest of the dish has a lovely flavor aside from just spice. They're generous with lamb and cabbage which add a lot of textural variety to the plate. The lamb dumplings were the sleeper hit of the meal, filled with juicy, tender hunks of lamb surrounded by toothsome clearly hand-rolled wrappers. Absolutely do not skip the lamb dumplings. Enjoyed a bowl of "the classic" with extra chashu... extra delicious, good service, and ambiance was that of a small little ramen house....very quaint! My problem with the place occurred during my second and recent visit here...this time with my family. This time no line (1145) so we were immediately offered a table by the host/waiter who pointed to a 4-top in the corner by the window. We made our way there from the host stand and were led by my son, an extremely polite 25 year old young man. My son believed our table "in the corner by the window" was the one just being cleared by the busser (who turned out to be the manager). My son asked if this was the appropriate table and the busser said no it wasn't and ours was the one the one next to it...and then followed that up by calling my son "stupid." Everyone in our group was extremely caught off-guard, most notably my son who confirmed what we all thought she had said... before she fled back into the employee's back room. Our group took a seat at the table as we clarified once again what had just happened. The host/waiter came over to our table and asked if we wanted anything to get started and what we wanted to drink. I explained to him what had just happened and that's when he informed me that the individual that had called my son stupid was the store manager!! I asked to speak with her and he went and asked her to come out to our table to address us. He returned a few minutes later and said, "that didn't interest her!" I immediately stood up and walked over to the kitchen area near where she initially disappeared from sight. The area was clearly marked employee's only and the waiter asked if I please would not go into the back room. I obliged as I certainly didn't want to make a scene. I explained to the waiter that I was not too pleased with her comments to my son and her behavior overall and that I would return to my seat to see if we would remain or elect to go elsewhere. He responded, "that makes absolute sense. I totally understand." His comments were such and his demeanor overall made me feel that this may not have been an unusual experience and that we may not have been the first customers to have such a negative experience with the manager. Tho, if true, I don't believe he was in any position to confirm or deny anything...which made me feel pretty sad for the waitstaff. Anyhow... we elected to stay as we were: 1) really craving ramen; 2) I had talked up Ramen Danbo to my family; and 3) we were on a rare visit into Seattle. So we did end up staying and enjoying some excellent ramen and excellent service - at least by the remainder of the staff! I did keep an eye out for the duration of our visit and the manager never came out onto the floor while we were there. Found this behavior just further evidence of her childish unprofessionalism...sad. SO, I leave this review in hopes the owner of this small chain reads this review, recognizes it's written by someone that puts effort into his Yelp reviews and recommends that you look into the behavior of an employee you hired/promoted into a supervisory/managerial position. You have a VERY unprofessional individual at the helm and I think the behavior my family and I witnessed the other day may only be the tip of the iceberg. I spent almost 25 years in the food industry and you should investigate your manager. At this point in time...we will not be back. Not when there are other quality ramen houses in the Emerald City.

While the name says it is a noodle house, they are also known for their clay pot rice. We went here…read morefor an early dinner and actually it was quite busy, while the restaurant emptied out during the conventionally peak dinner period. We got the preserved meat clay pot rice, salt and pepper fried fish filet, and beef brisket and wonton noodle soup. The clay pot rice was okay - the pricing is fair but the execution could be a bit better. I felt like the rice was a bit lacking in flavor, and they only have the standard soy sauce, not the ones in a sauce tray that is usually a bit sweeter. The salt and pepper fried fish filet was good - definitely recommend that for the taste and value. The noodle soup was also good - the wontons were okay but I loved the beef brisket. Noodles seem to be handmade as the texture is a bit uneven, but I appreciate these types of noodles more. Service is standard for a Chinese restaurant - you just need to flag them down and requests are fulfilled in a timely manner

This place is a true gem, serving satisfying, delicious food in a relaxed atmosphere at an affordable price. The restaurant looks small from the front, but space is used efficiently and they manage to fit quite a bit of seating into not that large of a dining room. Tables are mostly four tops, quite spacious at that, and surrounded by sturdy wooden chairs. I came for dinner on a Friday evening and there were a few other tables at any given time. Service was quick and our water never ran empty. We had the wontons in hot oil, topped with peanuts, I had the beef chow fun, and my dinner buddy had the pork with hot sauce noodles. The wontons are very very good, stuffed with flavorful pork and swimming in a sauce that sits in that perfect spot at the intersection of hot and sour. The peanuts and scallions add a delightful crunch. Their beef chow fun satisfies every bit of childhood nostalgia I have for this dish, with lots of wok hei, bouncy noodles, and the most tender of beef. I think my favorite beef chow fun in the city still lives at A+ Hong Kong Kitchen, but this is a close second. The portion here is also huge. I am a human vacuum and I actually brought leftovers home, which is rare for me. The pork with hot sauce noodles is seemingly a fusion of zha jiang mian and dan dan noodles. My friend really enjoyed it and actually finished the whole thing, which is saying something given that she doesn't usually eat that much. There are so many other items on the menu that I'm eager to try, so I will definitely be back.
