I came here in January with a group of 20 coworkers for our annual sales conference. I had planned a prix fixe menu beforehand with the manager, Joe. When we arrived, we were seated in "The Snug" which is a very cute, elevated, semi-private dining area. There were four tables, with some booth style seating along the wall. We had a choice of three appetizers, five entrees and one dessert. I had the classic greens salad, crispy grouper and fries, and the chocolate torte. We also had bottles of white and red wine which the servers kept our glasses full of. My meal was good, but the grouper probably wasn't the best choice. It was like a big, glorified fish stick. What can say except WOW!! My husband and I have been here with friends a few times but this past Saturday, we visited again and have NEVER in my life been treated so bad by anyone in the food Industry. We brought friends for their first visit for the snow crab festival and were excited to bring them into the Hob Nob while walking around enjoying the atmosphere and we walked in with our drinks from the festival which at the time didn't seem wrong to us, but ok we could have drank them down quickly with no big deal. As the ladies went to the bathroom quickly the bartender came around and dumped out drinks without a word. Not even a please take that drink out of here or sorry I will have to dump it.. nothing just dumps all our drinks and then has the nerve to treat us extremely nasty after we were upset. I have been in customer service my entire life and let me tell you there was a better way to handle this situation but it gets better because the blonde nasty manager was just as bad and NEVER will I walk in this place again and I will surely tell everyone I know in Naples because this is no way to treat people regardless of the circumstances. Friday night we were having quality time walking around with family. Excellent Latin's music got our attention and we stop to have a drink. We decided not get in since we were with our kids. Just payed for a couple of drinks while we were talking and laughing. Everything was good until the bartender in a very disrespectful way came out and throws 25 cents at my cousin's face.. We were in shock, he also closed the business door and started screaming in front of everybody. We keep asking what really happened. Very unacceptable way to treat person. The great experience started at the beginning of our meal with our server who thoroughly explained the menu and how the food was all made in house. We started with the deviled eggs and Caesar salad. My wife had the short ribs and I had the snapper which were both phenomenal. Very fresh and hot served quickly. We had an early dinner from their pre-theater menu. We enjoyed the Deviled Eggs with sugar cured bacon (although a bit too sweet) steak and fries featuring great sauces and flavors. Our daughter enjoyed the ever popular chicken fingers. All of us enjoyed the fries! We were too early to experience the full menu, but the dessert choices looked amazing. We were a large group from Ft Lauderdale and were lucky to have stumbled onto Hob Nob. The food was amazing! We enjoyed the Blue cheese chips, Artichokes, crab cakes, for our starters. All were delicious! Dinner was even better. They offer an array of fish dishes - we tried them all - let's say our plates were cleaned! The Meyer lemon short rib was yummy too. Stopped in to Hob Nob on NYE. The environment seemed young and fun! We were greeted with smiles! Got a great seat at the bar with the 3 guests i was with. The bartender was less than enthused and couldnt get a vodka/tonic straight from a vodka/soda. He just kind of sucked. For such a special night-his personality was awful. Let me start this review by saying that this is high season and I do recommend Hob Nob generally. We live in Naples, travel often to large cities and fine dining is our hobby, so to speak. This time of year the table service is a little sparse because restaurants are very busy. We expect that and don't fault a restaurant for this. Our server was pleasant and very busy. We arrived early and were seated promptly. My husband had I decided on a light meal for this visit of appetizers. We ordered the charcuterie, the shrimp and grits small plate and the roasted artichoke plate, plus a bottle of wine. The charcuterie was overpriced at $19 in our opinion for the basic cheese offerings it entailed. It was good but a price point of $12 would be more appropriate in our opinion and experience. The app was dropped off at our table without any description of the cheeses, etc.The shrimp and grits had a wonderful flavor, but was overcooked to the point of being hard and dry so it went back. We replaced it with the tuna nachos, which my husband enjoyed. Our Zinfandel was good and reasonably priced. Overall I do recommend Hob Nob, but there is room for improvement and, I believe, an adjustment in pricing. read more

We went here to watch the Naples Christmas Day Parade. It looks really good, the decor was nice, the atmosphere was nice, our waiter was excellent. Once the parade started, everyone started standing in front of us and we could not see a thing. So, we stood up on our chairs to look over the heads of the people that were in front of us. Anticipating this was a problem, we expected someone to come say something to us. When the manager arrived, he stated "Excuse me, Sir, I wouldn't stand on the furniture at your house, please get down." I got down, but I was appalled at how fucking rude this asshole was. Remember, we are on outside patio furniture that is NOT nice. He could have handled it an entirely different way. So, after feeling completely insulted, I walked inside after I paid my bill and tipped my waiter generously, and told this asshole manager that "the difference between my house and here, is that I paid for everything at my house and you didn't pay for a damn thing here. Also, you aren't invited to my house. Seeing that I am a guest in your restaurant, you may want to handle this a little better next time." It gets better. Instead of realizing the err in his ways, this amazing asshole, told me I had to leave the restaurant. I only went in the restaurant to tell him off. He told me he was going to call the police and have me escorted out, even though I had already said my piece was on my way to the door. So, if you would like to be belittled, and treated like a child a cafeteria, please patronize this piece of shit restaurant. Hey manager dude; you won't last long. This place has a few kinks to work out, service is a tad bit slow and sporadic but they have the menu nailed down and the ambiance is perfection. Our group was able to snag an 8:30 reservation on a Saturday night. The wine list was pretty decent and the cocktails were good if not a tad bit pricey. To start we had the arrancini, the traditional green salad, and the hob nob chips. Everything was excellent. For entrees were order the shrimp and grits, mahi mahi, and the tuna. Everything was amazing, the mahi was a little too black for me but you can tell them how to prepare it. We passed on dessert since we were so stuffed. The ambiance in here is incredible, definitely different than the local Naples locales. The music was a bit loud and they are definitely still working out some kinks but overall this is a new place to check out in downtown Naples. read more

Aside from the fact the portions were way too large (and then you wasted) the food was not tasty or seasoned. It was a shame, this seemed to have cool atmosphere. Alright, listen. I came here to drink - Yelp lists this place as the 2nd best cocktail bar in Naples. I felt pretty good about my decision when I walked in and saw the huge sign over the backbar that reads, "DRINK". The problem is the bartender doesn't know what he's doing. I ordered a Manhattan, a 150 year old cocktail comprised of 3 basic ingredients. It's not a difficult drink to make, but you do need to know the recipe, and you do need to know the appropriate technique to dilute and mix the drink. If you don't know either, you end up with a sloppy mess that's not worth drinking, and definitely not worth paying for. For instance, a Manhattan contains bitters, but this guy didn't use any. When I asked if he put bitters in it, he said, "Oh, you want bitters in it?" I said, "Of course!" After all, it's the recipe! But even before that, instead of stirring the drink, he shook it poorly for some arbitrary amount of time. So instead of getting a nice, elegant drink that's smooth and silky and well balanced, I was served what appeared to be a dark beer, complete with a white, foamy head. To add insult to injury, even though this place is notorious for having higher prices, the guy used Cinzano vermouth - the cheapest crap on the market. I might also add he didn't jigger anything. He just poured it over ice - and given his skills on display, I doubt he is an ace at counting out a proper pour. And it wasn't that he didn't pour enough booze, but ratios really matter! That's the whole point of a recipe, and the key to making a proper drink. If you don't care about which technique you employ to mix the drink, or what's in it, then you don't really care about your customer. It's just so obvious. When this guy walked back to add bitters to my crap drink, it angered me to think I was going to be charged a premium for this amateur to slop me out some crap. So I just got up and left. I'm sure he probably moaned to the guy sitting next to me like I was some sort of jerk for wasting his time and booze after I left, and I don't like to do either, but come on. If you call yourself a cocktail bar, learn the basics and do your job. Fancy signs and trendy decor means nothing if you can't manage the basics of what people actually pay you for. read more

This is a great place in downtown Naples, it has great decor and a great at atmosphere reminding me of restaurants in the South. It does get a little loud inside. We had the Moscow mule and coconut mojito at the bar which were delicious. For dinner we had the short ribs, lamb shank and spinach. The food was amazing, the meet fell off the bone and had great presentation and was very tasty. The goat cheese mashed potatoes were amazing and very unique. The staff were very friendly and knowledgable. The dinner entrees were recommended by our waiter and he right. read more
