What I did not care for was your young Hispanic employees who felt the need to be more concerned about what race I was than doing there best job for each customer. Adrianna (Martha) Clare in the Custom framing department just finished 5 pieces of art for me and they came out amazing!!! My previous experience with getting a custom frame literally left me traumatized. My first time was at a private shop where I eventually payed 375$ for ONE piece to be framed. I had 6 other pieces that I just kept unframed in my closet because I didnt want to spend thousands to get them framed. My dad told me I should check out hobby lobby and when I went in Adrianna spent the good portion of an hour to find me the best discounted frames combinations. 2 weeks later I have FIVE beautifully finished pieces for.... $208 !!!!!!!! read more

My favorite place for home decor at wonderful prices!! I don't know how they can get away with selling everything at such great prices, especially the featured sale items! And I think the quality is much better than many home decor places around this area. Sales people are really nice. For home decor, everything is laid out by category., I.e, Kitchen, Men and Sports, Kids Room etc. Things are not junked together but artfully and thoughtfully displayed. Excellent greeting card section...DaySpring Greeting Cards sold in boxed collections - I love that! Art and photo frames, books. And whether you need to buy just a little gift or a special occasion gift, you will find it here. Crafts, yarn, excellent floral section, and fabrics also. I could spend hours browsing! I purchased 3 picture frames and 3 mattes last week. While installing one pic the glass broke. Today I went to return/exchange and was told by asst mgr and manager that they cannot do that. Manager, Nathaniel, asked if it was broken when I bought it. Why would I buy broken merchandise. I simply wanted to exchange. The return policy states that returns are accepted without receipt for exchange. I pointed that out to him. He was very rude and stared me down and insisted he could not exchange. I explained that this was defective merchandise and should be returned to the manufacturer. He continued with his rudeness and again insisted I could not exchange. As a 'Christian' run organization I am appalled at the lack of professionalism and rudeness by this manager. I didn't want my money back just an exchange. I have 3 prints and needed one more frame of the same kind. I ended buying another and after this unprofessional experience will no longer do business with them. Shame on them. I don't often get to visit this store and when I do it's because there is something on sale that I hope to purchase. But on my most recent trip I was hoping to purchase some scrapbooking items that were 50% off and before going to the store I checked on their website if they are indeed on sale so when I found those items just to be sure again I was hoping to find a price checker at their store and I didn't find any. Finally went up to pay for the "sale" items and I ask the cashier if she can scan these for me to make sure if they are on sale or not. She didn't even scan it and all she did was look on her binder where the weekly ad is and she based it on that and she said no these are not on sale. It's just a weird technique how they check for sale items. Usual it's already reflected when an item is scanned. But I guess in their store they have to manually change the price at register. read more

Hobby Lobby labels itself as "floral (plastic), hobby (models, etc.), crafts" or something related to the home. many 50% off signs are prominent thruout. obviously, markup is very high.. Hobby Lobby is a mix of Michael's, Joann, and other arts & crafts stores. Hobby is one stop shopping for accessorizing the home and oneself. Stockton Hobby Lobby just lost a customer who spends a lot of money at their store. Totally understand and abide by early shopping hours for elders and high risk people, so please include this on your website for all to know. I sat and watched at least a dozen people being greeted at the door telling them this. I went to hobby lobby today to get a few things for my personal crafts. Stickers mostly and a small sewing kit for minor repairs on some of my favorite dresses. I know nothing about sewing mind you. I went to the fabric side of the store and asked an employee who was knelt down doing something if she knew where to find sewing kits. She looked obviously very angry that I bothered her, but showed me where to find the kits. I had a million questions but she ran off. I settled on just one question, getting the name of a tool I found. I went to the employee that helped me before, this time she was cutting fabric for a customer. I asked her what the name of the tool was in the kit and her reply was so nasty, the tone, how she said it, the look on her face, how she moved, like I threw her lunch on the floor and shat on it. Maybe it was my coffee in my hand, maybe it's because I had sunglasses on (inside, yes I know.) I was so taken aback I usually impulse buy a couple items but I had such a bad taste in my mouth from that experience I left the store empty handed. Michaels is bit pricy but at least the employees want to be there. read more

Hobby Lobby is a store that by its own nature sells itself. However, there are aspects and services that require some level of Customer service. Here lies the problem with this Concord Store. The store manager Dustin (in this case) doesn't care about the store or its customers. A simple framing job of 3 paintings and 22 days of waiting ended with me withdrawing my paintings unframed and with a distaste for this store. Definitely never coming back to this store nor will I ever recommend. The frame shop at best, a comfy place to lay out large format paintings. The service non existent. Sad affair of services. I LOVE this place. I only went to this place once, but I love craft stores. If you love Joann's, then you will enjoy this place. I came in here to get supplies for terrariums, and they have two aisles of glass jars, vases, pots, etc. all on SALE. Actually, a lot of things were on sale. I bought moss from Michael's and I saw the exact same moss here but a $1.00 less! This place is so big; you could get lost! But I don't mind getting lost in a craft store haha. They even have furniture in here that they say is always 30% off (something like that) and the cutest signs to decorate your home with. The scrapbooking section is amazing (which I spent most of my time at) and they have a separate room for the knitting and fabric area. I was looking through the yarn; they didn't seem to have brands I've heard of before and most of them felt itchy so I will still probably stick to Joann's to get my yarn. read more

First of all Robin was completely rude, told me she didn't care if I complained to her to corporate and said she didn't care if she lost her job. She talked to my sister and I completely rudely and made a scene. Nathaniel on the other hand was helpful and nice and we wanted him to continue to help us and Robin would not leave us alone. Their registers all broke and took the money from my gift cards and wouldn't let me use any other card to finish the payment since the system malfunctioned and completely shut down. They expected me to wait til next week to drive all the way back over an hour drive to try to pay for it again, when I asked if they could just take my gift cards and let me pay the difference (they had proof that hobby lobby took my money from the gift cards and they had proof on screen showing they took the money) Robin then told my sister she didn't need to be speaking with her and it's between me and her in the most rudest way ever. I'll never come back and I hope Robin does lose her job since she clearly stated she didn't care about her job and literally said to our faces and she didn't care about corporate or what they thought. read more

This store woukd bw PERFECT if it was ran properly. Human error is what makes mw cringe to come here. Ultimately this is how companies LOSE money. Everyday during the week day I come in to get in an out before work. Everytime ONE cashier. People with carts FULL. A customer service person who paces around looking busy but doing NOTHING to help. Doesnt even say hello. Like what are you possibly managing, one cashier and a super long dreary line in which you prove yourself useless and unable to assist? Ooohhhh I love this place! I've never been here before so I didn't really know what to expect. This store is like a mix between Michael's and home goods. If you need signs or wall decor, this is the place to go! They have wall art for man caves, cabins, ocean theme, girls room, boys room, laundry room, garage, superhero stuff,etc! I wish they had more disney wall art though. My husband thought this place would offer more "hobby" stuff so he was a bit disappointed, I however was not. Walking in the doors it feels like entering Valhalla for crafters! What a dreamland. I mean they seemed to have EVERYTHING! However when you look a little closer you start seeing the REAL Hobby Lobby. We were shopping for model primer. There was an associate working on the aisle we were shopping. The primer we wanted was not on the shelf. When my husband made eye contact with the associate to ask her if it might be in back she looked straight at him, turned and left the aisle. When she reluctantly returned and we asked our question she petulantly replied "we don't keep back stock" and went back to ignoring us in the most un customer service oriented way possible, pushing past us on the aisle repeatedly as if WE were in HER way. After leaving that area disappointed we noticed other issues such as a dangerously unattended ladder left where children could play with it and other tripping hazards in the walkways. All in all I'd say they definitely have a lot of merchandise but the customer service sucks (at the front register all 3 were tied up with returns) and the store is unsafe for children. read more

My first time coming here and I must say I was quite impressed. They have alot of selections for home decor and seasonal products. You can spend hours just going through their aisle because the space is huge. Also they have religious products like wall art with bible quotes and crosses, which are hard to find nowadays. They are pricey though, I bought 2 small candles, 3 medium size wall art and 4 small plastic fake flowers which came out to almost $90. Overall, I liked it and will be coming back soon. read more

My first and last visit to Hobby Lobby. The store is the size of a Costco so you might think you will find everything you need for any hobby you want to pursue but FIND is the key word. The store has no signage. The aisles are not numbered. I called the store twice to ask where I could find the items on my list and received vague directions. "I'm standing in front of some easels," I said. ""Just turn around and head towards the front of the store and it's right there." Might have been good advice had I known where the front of the store was! When I relayed my experience (with great courtesy) to the cashier, she replied that the stock changes so often they couldn't possibly do signage. I felt totally manipulated. My guess? Their business plan is to keep people wandering up and down every aisle to increase the impulse purchases. Never again. read more

He did nothing but stand and stare, walk around, stare some more and then loudly announce he was going on break after we all finally got helped..while walking out the door. It's a crafters paradise; whether it's knitting, scrap booking, or interior decorating there is a multitude of items to choose from. It can be a bit difficult to find staff to assist when looking for specific things, however the vast array of stock makes up for that issue. Be sure to download the app for coupons. This is the worst store manager I have ever seen. Robert is his name. I was over charged on some things I bought when I went in, I only wanted the price adjustment. They said they couldn't do it because it wasn't on sale this week. WHAT??? I bought some silk flowers on the day they were on sale, this week they aren't so they couldn't do it. WHAT???? To begin with this guy was a piece of work. Wouldn't you think to keep a customer you would make an adjustment of $20 bucks??? He wouldn't budge. So I got my money back and went to Michaels. So beware, if you don't return your item, they made the mistake on, the week they are on sale, your screwed!! I'm done. Their customer service is truly lacking at this location. I needed something in a locked case. There's no call button like other stores with locked cases so I walked around for about 5 minutes trying to find someone to help me. Found an employee but they said the person who has the key was helping someone else and they would tell them. Five minutes later still no help so I walked back to the front registers and asked again. They then called them on the intercom. Another five minutes pass and still no help so I walk back up to the front again & they said he's probably still helping someone (with an attitude like I was bothering them). They called them again on the intercom. Several minutes later, the original person I asked for help saw me waiting and said, "Oh they still didn't help you? He's on break." So it looked like they finally went to go track them down. Seriously...only one person has the keys to locked cases. Perhaps pass off the keys to someone else when you're on break or perhaps the manager could open it. The person with the keys finally comes walking down the aisle & doesn't even apologize for the delay. It took 2 seconds to unlock the cabinet & grab what I needed. No acknowledgment or apologies offered. I paid & not even a simple thank you. read more

They always have what I need. The customer service is good-- you do need to look for help, but when you find someone, they are always really nice and helpful. This store always seems to have what I need and whenever I go (which is usually in the morning), the staff is usually restocking everything. I enjoy coming here because the store is always clean and I don't have trouble finding things. **ATTENTION RAVERS & KIDS CRAFT HUNTERS ** First off, let me say this store is FREAKING HUGE, I literally felt like it was the size of 2 Home Depot's. I came here to check out their kids crafts (or as I call it the Raver craft section), but I was sorely disappointed after walking what felt like half a mile into the store and asking for directions twice. I expected to find an endless supply of kandi making supplies (beads, perlers, string, charms, etc) but the bead section is laughable at best! They had about a 3 foot by 3 foot wall section dedicated to beads in a store the size of a football stadium. Everything was packed in super small quantities, I believe they were all 50-100 count baggies, the norm is about 200-500 count packs in every other craft store I have been to. In addition they only carried one brand of these small packs, which I assume is their store brand since I haven't seen this brand elsewhere. The prices were even more laughable, double or triple the price of other stores for half the product. I was also surprised to see they didn't carry any bulk sized bags of beads in single colors or mixed. The Perler section was about the standard for all craft stores I have been to. Very small, unorganized, only 3 or 4 of the most basic colors in stock. Slightly higher mark up. Nothing worth buying. The charm section was also the norm: Decent sized selection, huge markup, buy 1 get 1 30% off type deals on charms. Nothing worth buying. I checked out a few other sections on my way out of the store as well and everything was either the same or smaller than other crafts stores with smaller store sizes. I honestly have no idea what the extra size of this store is dedicated to, it certainly doesn't seem to be a wider product selection. I will stick to Marshalls, Walmart, and online stores until I find something better. read more

I have always loved this Hobby Lobby. I can always find good frames at a great price. Recently I had a large flag to frame. The local Frame shop quoted me $350. Hobby Lobby in Concord did the job for $56.94 and did an excellent job. The local Frame shop turn around time is one month. Hobby Lobby got it done in one week. As far as staff goes I have always been treated me helpfully and with respect. I go to the Concord Hobby Lobby weekly. read more

If cleanliness is close to godliness, then hobby lobby isn't as holy as they claim. Came into the store at 9 AM when they open and shopped for 20 minutes then used the restroom; it was filthy! I mean so gross I didn't want to use it. Hobby lobby is great for buying things when they're on 50% off. I'm often able to get items cheaper here when they are on sale than I can from my wholesaler. I first started shopping at hobby lobby when my old business partner told me about how great their sales Can be. So now I buy things less than wholesale create art with them and donate all the proceeds to LGBTQ organizations. I like the juxtaposition of it. read more

After being practically shoved out of Hobby Lobby at 7:55, I do not think I will be returning. Starting at 7:45, there was an announcement that the store would be closing at 8 PM every 5 minutes. Three different times they came on over the intercom, repetitiously stating the same phase. And then, as if I hadn't understood, an employee approached me in the aisle to ask me if I needed help finding anything since the store was closing in 10 minutes. Where had he been for the last 10? If I am correct the closing time is 8:00, not 7:50 or 7:55. I understand that the employees all want to go home and I've been there. I had no intention of staying past 8, but I am entitled to peruse until then. I was looking for one 4x6 gold frame, and I feel certain that I could have quickly found what I needed and made a purchase in 5 minutes. Instead, I left indignant and empty handed. read more

I feel I have been to Hobby Lobby enough times now to give it a fair rating. Reading other peoples reviews, I am now finding out why the lines just always feel terribly long and seem to drag. It appears they don't use scanners or have an automated system within their checkout computers that can figure out if something is on sale or not. Now it all makes sense why I mostly enjoy perusing the store, but leading up to the line, always makes my stomach turn. The employees are always nice. Never have had an issue. However, the interaction does feel like we don't have much of a connection because they are too busy trying to look up sale items or work the system. I read they have this kind of system so the cashiers can interact with the customers more, but this actually seems to be doing the opposite! You can't have a store this large and expect the kind of system they use to allow them to work efficiently and enjoy interacting with customers. The products in the store are fun, but then I start realizing someone in China or somewhere similar got paid about $1.00 for that cute bird cage, and I am letting Hobby Lobby profit $49.00 off of me for it. Most of this stuff I imagine fills up many McMansions in the South, but here in California, we are wiser than this! It's cute stuff nevertheless, but it just feels overwhelmingly like a lot of cute stuff. I don't need it! They have lots and lots of stuff, in fact. I won't lie, I have bought some of this stuff and have been happy with them. But, since I was raised on Michael's and JoAnn's Fabrics, I still like them better because they feel more homey and fresh, not so super sanitary and stiff. Here are a few things I hope for Hobby Lobby to improve: 1) Their Music - The music could be classical and it would improve the atmosphere ten fold. The light piano and synthesized classics (a la Lawrence Welk) of 60's/70's/80's songs makes me feel like I am stuck on an elevator that is going nowhere! 2) Canvases and Artist's paints - This area is ok, but could be far more improved. The canvas selection should have more than just their own branding. (I feel the same way about Michael's and Aaron Bros., too) Paint selection needs more brands, too. Watercolor selection is ok, but would like more higher end brands to choose from. I bought a Royal Talens Van Gogh Watercolor set for $50, and so far, pleased with them. 3) Less Bric-a-Brac, more craft supplies and innovative branding areas - Walking into Hobby Lobby almost makes you feel like it's 1987. Walking into KMart kinda makes me feel the same way. The thing is, Hobby Lobby has an enormous amount of space in their stores. For all that space, every aisle starts to feel more of the same. Different variations of knick knacks, but not much else. Anyway, I give Hobby Lobby credit for a few things, but bigger doesn't always mean better. Michael's Art Supplies will always win the award in my heart for best art/craft store, and they are about half the size compared to Hobby Lobby. And, they ring you up and have fun talking it up with you at the same time. read more
