*****Framing Service Review***** I am a BIG "CHiPs" fan. When I was a kid, watching the hotdogging Ponch (call sign 7-Mary-4, played by Erik Estrada) and cool-headed Jon (7-Mary-3, played by Larry Wilcox) handling all kinds of wild and crazy calls on L.A.'s highways and byways certainly made a great impression on me. It's the main reason why I decided on a career in law enforcement. Recently, my brother surprised me with a gift of two autographed pictures of Ponch and Jon. Since they came unframed, I decided to come here to find the right frames for them. One of the workers, Adrianna, helped me pick out a couple sleek black ones. At my request, she replaced the factory glass with preservation glass and placed the pictures inside the frames. She was very careful with my treasures, which I appreciated. On top of that, she was friendly and funny! At 50% off, the two frames cost just $14 total. The preservation glass was $35 a piece. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. My overall experience was great! I will continue to get pictures framed here. I love arts and crafts! I love pretty paper and stickers and stencils, etc I was looking for some treat bags for the holidays to make goodies along with some ribbons to tie them with. This store is pretty big, I love it! I feel like it has everything an arts and craft DIY-er would love. As I was walking through looking for my items, I kept distracted by other items. They have random items on the end caps like cute decorative tapes, cute scissors, etc. Their yarn/fabric and ribbon section is pretty extensive today. I wanted to buy some cute ribbons for my treat bags and I found cute ones here for a reasonable price! It's better than other places. I went a little crazy and bought a lot of ribbons. Also, look for sales and discounts - they seem to have discounts here and there for everything. I love it. Parking here is pretty straight forward. I always come at night for some reason so I always get confused how to enter/exit the lot and get back onto Willow Pass but that's user error! There's plenty of parking here though. I noticed during these pandemic days that many stores are not well stocked--and understandably so. I would go to a store, only to have to go to another one because I couldn't find what I needed. Not so with Hobby Lobby! My recent visits to Hobby Lobby have been wonderful. They are more than fully stocked - they are packed with so many wonderful things and great sales, that I have a hard time leaving the store. I had a specific list of things needed for an online watercolor class and there was a great selection to choose from. As you can see from the photos, from yarns, to art supplies, Christian books and stationery, to supplies for kids...Hobby Lobby has it! read more

Lots And lots and lots and lots of stuff, the AC works so this is a good place to shop and cool off at the same time since it is 97 degrees out there. The selection of kids crafts are amazing and affordable to keep the young ones busy for sure. This weekend was the first time I had ever been to a Hobby Lobby...it is AMAZEBALLS!!!! Hobby Lobby is located across the road from Lazy Dog Restaurant, on the other side of Willow Pass Road in Concord. It is bigger (and a little cheaper) than Michael's in Vallejo and with 100 times the variety. Hobby Lobby is a crafter/DIYer's paradise. Of course they have the standard huge faux flower section but they also had nooks of flowers throughout the entire store. They also have a big sewing/fabric section which I am bananas over. They have a whole section of cute doo-dads and knick-knacks aimed at sewer lovers. Hobby Lobby is like a lower priced Michael's combined with a mini Joann's Fabrics and small Home Goods. They also carry small pieces of furniture like end tables and small dresser-like cabinet stuff. I tried to take pictures of everything but I couldn't focus because I was too busy shopping. If you like iron-on patches than this is the place for you...they have tons and tons of them. All of the Christmas stuff is 50% off right now...they even had a small aisle with 90% off Fall decor and paper products like napkins and plates. I got a cute little hedge ornament thing for 20 cents. If you need to get out of the house I suggest wondering around Hobby Lobby...it's a dream! read more

Worst service ever ! You couldn't get help to save your life. I thought maybe it was a bad day or they were short staffed , I gave this place 3 chances the employees here really don't know how to read the room when someone needs help. They will walk by you and purposely not make eye contact to avoid you asking them for help. I went on 3 separate days, all different time of the day, all resulting in same outcome . Oh well I guess this place is ok if you know what you want and know where it is and can find what you need . read more

Love this store. It has better limited but better priced fabrics than Joann Fabrics. I sad Dublin one closed so I had a choice between Southland and Concord. Since I'm babysitting in San Ramon and it's one mile more than Hayward one, I decided to take the chance and go to the Concord one. It's huge! I'm glad I came here because I found the fabric I needed for a dress for my granddaughter and camo fabric to make an Army outfit for my grandson. Fabric was 40% off and I didn't need a coupon. Just check the weekly ad for sale items. I also loved the music they play. It reminds me God is constantly with me. read more

The bead collection at this store is beautiful. The workers were quite anal when speaking to me but I didn't mind... The assortment of different sizes beads they have are perfect for gifts for a loved one, a family member, friend, or yourself. I am now beaded out. I am dripping in beads. The employees that work here are miserable and it shows through their attitude and lack of wanting to help any customer that comes into the store. They can't acknowledge or greet anyone and if you have a return, it's a nightmare. This extends to the store manager who is not personable and could care less about customer satisfaction and concerns. I approached him about a return a girl was having trouble with and he immediately showed how annoyed and burden he was for having to even come in contact with a customer and made me feel like it was my problem and wanted nothing to do with it. This type of treatment is just disgusting. It's appalling and a shame that this business has a store manager and employees like this representing them. They treat customers like trash. I won't shop here again and I cannot support a business that isn't grateful for customers. HomeGoods has a better selection of furniture and decorative items. But most importantly friendly staff that gives outstanding customer service. Michaels has a better selection for craft and decor items and great customer service. Attention craft makers, home decorators, and scrapbook masters: your new home away from home in the 925 is open. My hunny was a customer of Joann and Michael's mostly because there was no Hobby Lobby within 40 miles. Every time we went to Modesto, we'd stop in at Hobby Lobby. Now the headliner store in this small shopping center has become a Hobby Lobby, so she's putting in her time here. They also took over the space vacated by the record store next door, but Guitar Center is still open. It feels big because there's a lot of room to walk around and the ceilings are tall. Probably the same amount of merchandise as in Joann. Very large range of hobby-like things offered here. I haven't compared prices, but they had a great sale tonight when we bought our daughter a shirt for school and customized it. This is a dangerous store for a crafty chick who happens to be a shopaholic. Good-bye budget, hello eviction or foreclosure . . . Naturally, I'd give it one star because I'm a dude, and dudes don't go shopping for craft items. I am NOT a fan of craft stores, and Lowe's is my toy store. But this store isn't for me, it's for the she's in this world, and this appears to be a good 4-star for them. I'd bump it to 5-star if they added something that Joann has: occasional seminars and training on how to make ______________. I'd imagine this would go over well with the clientele. read more

For the most part, I love this store and have had good experiences. However, the 3 negative experiences I've had there have all had to do with one of the managers named Amy. I watched her loudly berate and put down one of the workers (who appears to have some sort of special needs) who was working the register, right in front of a line of customers. I felt badly for him as he had made a simple mistake, and she didn't need to act like that. I went in today and there was 1 line with over 8 people in it. The line was moving very slowly since it was also the return line. I saw her putting small items on a rack near one of the registers and asked if she could open another line. "No, sorry," she said. Yet she continued to slowly stock an area near the register, and duck down pretending she didn't see the line growing. She could have easily taken a break or called someone over, but she didn't. I saw this same thing happen two weeks ago when I was there and over 10 people were in one line. She stands and watches, and yells at her employees, yet doesn't step in to help when it is needed. I think shopping at HL would be a much better experience if they would just staff more cashiers. There are plenty of employees in the store - they just seem to like to subject everyone to super long lines for no reason. read more

Love this new store here in Concord. Helpful and polite store clerks who won't let lines get too long. Clean and organized aisles with a variety of arts and crafts, furniture, cards and journals, frames, and much more. Pleasant, bright and airy atmosphere abounds. Love the inspirational instrumental music playing in the background. Got all my supplies for my bible Journaling projects. I prefer Hobby Lobby over Michael's. So I rarely shop here however I had bought a few large pieces of wall art on a Saturday in another location about 500 miles from home and where we hung it. The following Monday or Tuesday I went to my local hobby lobby and noticed all the wall art was 50% off. I had my receipt so I asked the manager if, like the vast majority of stores, I could get a price adjustment since I had just bought it a few days before at full price. She told me I had to bring in the actual merchandise because as she stated "we don't know if you stole it"! I replied, what do you mean; stole the receipt? I was clearly baffled and the fact that was the reply from what I believe is Christian owned company was even more baffling. Then she literally put her hands to both sides of her for head and made a grunting noise as if her brain hurt. Very odd. ‍ read more

Customer service here is so bad. Also, I can never find anything & no one who works here will ask you if you need help. And when you do ask for help, this one lady actually said it's that way & just pointed. Today was last straw. Jill, I'm guessing she's a manager ignores me & tells someone behind me in line to go to a shorter line. I didnt realize my invisibility cloak was still on. Then later as I'm still in pain from my scoliosis so I have to keep pacing, she tells me to go to the other lane since its shorter. Ok maybe shes trying to make right. The lane was far away & when I got there it wasn't shorter. Now I'm annoyed. I stand there with hand on hip staring at her & she comes over after a long while. I nicely (I'm not being sarcastic, I really sounded nice) say was this the lane you wanted me to go to because it's not shorter. Shes says she was dealing with an employee & didnt realize. Are the hobby lobby people short on money? Every time I go here they are woefully understaffed. Being that they are closed on Sunday, one would think they would want to accommodate Saturday shoppers. Nope! Three very slow registers opened. Lines went 20 deep. I was buying ONE item and waited 15 minutes. Several others gave up. I had ordered a frame for my project on Feb 2 to pick up on Feb 18 when it would be ready. I went to the store to buy something else today at around 2 pm and went to the framing section to check if my order was ready by any chance. I was served by Paco, who checked and acknowledged that the frame has arrived but production was not complete yet. I had some special requests. He listened very carefully and promised he would get it ready by 5 pm today even though it is 3 days early. Paco got the job done as he promised, exceeding my expectations. I love shopping at hobby lobby for arts and crafts supplies but one thing i do not enjoy is the employee (who im praying is not a manager) who follows me around while i shop. he constantly watches me and had even rubbed up against me once and makes me extremely uncomfortable. He is unprofessional and as a young lady i am fearful to shop in here anymore if he is still working. I can not believe as a woman of faith that someone working at this establishment would be inappropriate towards tumerous women as i have heard he does this a lot. I recently found a painting in storage that my little sister, (now-deceased), had brought back for me from her trip to Egypt in winter of 2001. Twenty years later, the papyrus painting was still bright and beautiful, and in the same plastic frame I had hung it in on my college apartment walls. I immediately decided it deserved a better home, and looked up local framing options. I hadn't been into HL in years, but they had a good reviews (better than Michaels, which was my first instinct) so I drove the large piece of art in its ugly black-rimmed frame down to their store and hauled it inside. I was warmly greeted by more than one employee and then directed to the framing department, where Drew helped me pick out a custom frame and matting colors for the double border. I was actually in a hurry and he was super efficient and really kind and helpful with the suggestions he made. I probably over-emphasized the importance of the level of care I wanted taken with this picture that only has sentimental value at this point, and he calmed and assured me of the quality of work and level of professionalism they take with all art they receive for framing. He told me it might take a couple of weeks, so I called to check in on day #13, and was told it would be ready the next day. Yayy!! However, Paco (maybe that was his name?) called me back shortly after and said I could come in and pick it up; that he had finished the backing and hanger for me since he knew I was excited. I rushed into the store with my boyfriend, and we found a beautifully finished project! Better than I expected. The museum glass I picked is worth the extra money! The price at the register was incorrect though, and I didn't catch it until just now, writing this review. The 40 x 23 custom frame with Sage Advice and Dark Purple matting and museum glass was supposed to be $304.21, but the final invoice I was handed gave me a 50% discount on the custom frame (this discount is their store policy for all custom frames), bringing the total to $247.87, but I was charged the full price. But honestly, each interaction I've had with employees there has been great, so hopefully it was be resolved when I give them a call tomorrow. I ordered some frames on-line and ordered the wrong size. The return policy says that I can return them to the store. I brought them in and they refused to refund me saying they could only give me cash or a store credit and that they didn't have enough cash on hand. This sounds like a lie and if you aren't able to refund a person's credit card then you better carry enough cash on hand to deal with returns. I won't be shopping here again! We stopped in yesterday to look at frames for a needle work project I had finished. Andrew in the framing department was so incredibly helpful! Due to the finished size of my piece I had to change my vision for how I would frame it and he helped us the whole way through, providing recommendations and letting us know about all the options from matting to helping us order one of the in stock frames that was damaged on the shelf. Never in my life have I experienced such an excruciating and an embarrassing way to shop I was window shopping possibly buying some jelly Roll pens and something caught the corner of my eye and I looked to the right of me and there's a man on his tippy toes literally doing a back bend heading for another aisle yet he was looking at me as if I was going to put something in my pocket and no lie every time I turned around in the store employes were eye gouging and making it an uncomfortable environment to even want to be in.. they are like a freaking cult they talk in weird codes on the loud speaker and are incredibly awkward. Even though the last time I came to this hobby lobby I was followed by two employees to the point of it being ridiculous despite my never having the slightest intention of shoplifting or doing anything but buying craft supplies, and despite the manager being absolutely awful for NO REASON, for some reason, I decided to AGAIN, make the trek to this place from the city because I really like the store's selection. But the second I walked in, the manager kicked me out. She didn't give me a reason other than to say she can refuse service to anyone. I tried to get her to be reasonable considering I had just paid for the BART from San Francisco and then a Lyft from the station to this hobby lobby for both myself AND my friend. But she didn't care. She kicked me out. She said it was because i wasn't able to pay for my items last time. I want able to pay because I had planned to use touch pay. Upon finding out they didn't accept it, I had no choice but to leave empty handed. The manager at this store is an absolutely awful human. I left there today so angry I could hardly see. Avoid this place. There's a Jo a Joanne's right down the street where the staff was courteous and professional. This hobby lobby is the worse there is. read more

I WANT to LOVE Hobby Lobby! I DO! I love the products & the music. But the lines are so long. Today the manager stood & watched as one poor clerk dealt with our huge line & complicated orders. At long last, someone showed up to open a second register. After I checked out, I asked the manager why she merely watched as the lone clerk struggled. She responded that she had called for help, but it took a long time for help to arrive (a/k/a "not her job to check out customers"). I had literally just walked through the entire store & witnessed only 2 who were actually unpacking inventory boxes. When staff is too "busy" to check out customers, then what? I personally love this place regardless of a couple flaws. It's huge with everything you need to be crafty and more. Everything there is good quality and the people that work there are nice. Elena is great, she my "go-to" person when I get in line, because she takes the time to wrap glassware and floral, unfortunately none of the guys has yet to do so. Also, every time I go there, I feel like I have to wait extra time because there's no price. Not sure why almost half their stuff seems to be not priced or why this happens so frequently, but even another lady mentioned it too. Hopefully the staff can get trained on how to properly wrap glassware, it takes little time and makes a world of difference. Great store! read more
