It's all about the People! I don't believe they are there anymore but I bought two cars from them in the past!

Has been a year now since I purchased my 2020 RDX from them, and I still have not received my front license plate. It took me 7 phone calls before I could finally speak to anyone and then he was just rude to me and "sent me the DMV paperwork that I had to sign and send back" and then after about 8 months, finally got my registration, but still no license plate. Now they're closed so what do I do? I have no front license plate and still have the paper in the window :-( read more

I'm rating this based off my experience today. Im sure this dealer is decent, however I was not satisfied at all with the vibe I got today. I felt as if they tried to cheat me. I walked in looking to purchase a used vehicle. I came in with the KBB numbers for how much they bought the car for (trade in value) and the KBB numbers for a "fair price" from a dealer. They were asking for over 1.5 thousand dollars of the kbb buying value, and marked it up 5000 dollars from their trade in price. I tried to negotiate it somewhere in between the two numbers that kbb gave me but they would not budge what-so-ever. (Mind you I've done lots of research on purchasing a used vehicle and have family that work in dealerships who tell me about their antics and games). One of the salesmen then talked down on kbb numbers saying it was not reliable. On top of it all, he kept cutting me off and continued to praise the car, saying how much good of a condition it was in and being very repetitive. Either way, whether or not they gave me a right price, the overrall experience today was just terrible. If you're a young guy like me try to avoid this place if you do not want to feel belittled / be cheated on just buy how old you look. read more

My new acura's first service was due so I scheduled an appointment with Mike Costa at Hoehn Acura. He was amazing. Mike patiently went over the details of what was due at this time and listened to the few additional minor issues that I wanted addressed. He took care of everything and had my car ready in an hour! While I didn't buy my RL here in 2005, I have been using them for service for the last six years. I've found them to be a pleasure to use. Easy to get appointments, competent service, and they seem to care. I've worked with Jeremy in customer service who has been highly professional and insures the work is done on a timely basis. Service costs are low and often things are done at no cost when they could charge if they were so inclined. The waiting room is small and not as spacious as the Lexus dealer nearby, but it's clean, there's free WiFi and when in there last week, the receptionist came by and offered coffee or water. Of course it helps that the car has been so reliable that service beyond the normal scheduled maintenance is rare. read more

Absolute...AMAZING SERVICE! Went in today for a service on My Acura TSX TECH and I was blown away. Being a Small business owner myself I rarely encounter superior service like this and people that are this awesome. The female at the desk was awesome and funny and the Service Advisor Tom Mendoza)...was on it! I was blown away by his general compassion for people and getting everything I needed as prompt as possible as well as just an all around amazing visit. It usually takes me weeks or months to right a review, but these guys did such an outstanding job, I couldn't wait to put one in for them. We had a unique situation and reached out to at least a half a dozen dealers, and no one could work it out for us. Well these wonderful folks took the time and made it happen, and at a better rate than anyone else. They were so on top of everything and I never waited longer then a half hour for a response. My son picked up his new vehicle yesterday and was so happy. Special thanks to Buddy and Charles for keeping me updated through the process and always swiftly responding to my questions. I took my wife's 2007 MDX into the dealer to purchase a replacement for the passenger side rear view mirror. The mirror had 'popped' out after hitting a big pothole but there was no damage to the passenger door or mirror assembly. I was told by the parts person at Hoehn Acura that i had to see the service person and the service person informed me that there was no way to replace the mirror (because there was no way to 'attach' it) and that i would have to purchase the whole plastic assembly (which is painted the same color as the car) and have them install it. Which would have been over $1,000 dollars. I think it was 600 or 700 dollars for the unit and then the rest would have been in the installation. As i mentioned, the only piece missing was the mirror, everything else was great. So I went home and called Kearny Mesa Acura and they sold me the mirror for $35 dollars. I went home and 'popped' it into place and voila, it's been fine for months. I would avoid this place but if you have to go, I would do your due diligence before giving these guys your money. read more

I have a 2008 MDX that had a bad shudder under hard acceleration which I thought was a broken motor mount. Even though I only have 38K miles on the vehicle my extended warranty expired just a few weeks earlier so I took it to my local mechanic since Hoehn Acura is about 10 miles away. They told me the shudder was not a motor mount but could be a known Torque Converter shudder and I should take it to Hoehn Acura. Went to see Mike in service at Acura and was treated like a celebrity. He told me it was known issue that was covered by a software update and suggested a transmission service at the same time since I had over 30K miles on it. I priced out the service with my local shop and found that Acura was actually $30 cheaper so I let them do the service at the same time. They offered a courtesy loaner but I didn't need it as I had a friend just take me to Costco around the corner. They did the service in less than 2 hours and Mike called me to give me an ETA 15 minutes bofe they were finished and even gave me a nice free car wash. After I picked up the vehicle I noticed the shudder was still there but no as bad as it was. I called Mike and he apologized and said his mechanic didn't feel it but I should bring it back for further diagnosis. I dropped the car off and they gave me a courtesy TS (nice new car with only 4K miles) for $19/day. I asked them to accelerate hard between 20 - 40 when they tested it and they were able to reproduce the issue and got a new torque converter installed under warranty. When I picked up the freshly washed MDX, they didn't even charge me for the courtesy vehicle since they had to wait for parts from Acura and it took 4 days to fix my car. Not only did they wash my car, give me a free courtesy vehicle but they gave me a credit for the transmission service that I paid for the prior week since they had to remove the transmission any way. Now that's Service! Here's where it gets even better. A few days after I picked up the car, I thought I felt the shudder again. I thought I was just sensitive to it and imagined it. So I drove it a few more days. Then on Monday I was forced to accelerate hard and low and behold, I felt the shudder again. I called Mike at Acura and he couldn't believe it and was very determined to get to the bottom of the issue. I brought the car back again the next morning and they gave me another courtesy vehicle (TS Wagon, another nice car). The paperwork did say $19/day but he said they would figure out the issue and call me that afternoon. I went for a test drive with the technician and we both felt the shudder. It felt like the same issue to me but he said it felt different and this time it felt like a front end CV or axle. I left the car, took the loaner and they later found it had a bad front right axle and installed a new one. Within 24 hours I got a call from Mike saying the car was fixed. I went to pick it up and again they didn't charge me for the loaner. My MDX is running smooth, no shudder and from my experience both Mike and Miles (the manager) really cared about getting to the bottom of the issue and satisfying a customer. I've never been treated better at a dealer and will be sure to bring my Acura back to Hoehn.. read more

have a 2006 Acura RSX-S. It has 25,000 miles on it. I brought it to HOEHN ACURA for a blown out bulb on my drivers side low beam and an unscheduled oil change (I treat her right). I was told when I went to check out that they "FOUND" a broken clip on my headlight housing. Oh it will only cost $665.00 to replace it. (BTW the part retails for $247.00) THIS was the first time that a human (other than when it was assembled) touched my headlight (never had a blown bulb). So you tell me - who broke it? After discussing my maintenance history with the dealer I bought the car from they assured me they don't "break on their own". Now my aim is off and "Hoehn can't guarantee the aim will stay because of the broken clip" Hoehn refuses to take responsibility for this and offered me 20% off - how nice of them. I guess they felt real bad for someone on unemployment... Hey Travis- I hope you never have someone do to you what you just did to me! Karma is a bitch! read more

I absolutely love the Hoehn Acura service department. I had my 2009 Acura TL serviced at this location in Carlsbad for 6 years prior to moving to Arlington, VA in 2015. I'm writing this review now because I miss the service at this dealership. These days I almost cry every time the service light comes on thinking about the horrific service I'll get in the Northern Virginia area. I feel like they're herding cattle every time I go into one of the local locations here in Virginia. If you're reading this review, don't hesitate to take your car to Hoehn for service. I sooo miss this service department!!! read more

It's simple really. They jack up the service charges by doing unnecessary work like oil changes, wiper blade replacements and generally more frequent services than Acura recommends. If you think that Hoehn has better engineers than Honda does then you should buy your car here and have it serviced here. If, like me, you figure that Honda knows what they're doing, buy and get service elsewhere. Friendly, though and willing to adjust the bills after they have over charged you. read more

I'd give less than 1 star! Never have been treated rudely in my life before! Went to the service center in Carlsbad with my brand-new rdx due to few concerns I have with my new car. I did purchase it at a different dealer out of the area in Los Angeles which is a wonderful dealer and service center, however the service at Carlsbad Acura is less than satisfying he turned me away and said; unless your car is failing or something is failing I cannot have my mechanic take a look at it. I am so annoyed and angry at the moment I cannot Believe that a service advisor would be so rude! I never would accuse sexism but in this case it seems that if I were a guy I would have been treated better! I suggest everyone stay away from the service at this Acura as they are absolutely horrible I'd rather drive two hours back to Northern Los Angeles county where I purchased my car and have it serviced there then go anywhere near this Carlsbad location! Major thumbs down Carlsbad Acura! Major thumbs down! I'm very unhappy with your service! Never in my life was treated this way with Toyota! Right now I'm wishing I would have stayed with Toyota instead of getting an Acura! read more

"As good as it gets" is an accurate description of the service I recieved from Hoen Acura. I had a problem with my 2010 MDX that required a full repalcement of the short block in my motor. I am not a car guy but they basically replaced the entire motor. I was told that a repair of this magnitude had not been done in apporximately 15 years. Mike Costa the service representitive did an amazing job coordinating the repair. I was without my vehicle for a little over two months. He called and updated me every step of the way and was a wonderful sounding board when I got frustraed . I owe Mike a debt of gratitude for his patience and diligence. Through his hard work he was able to get the repair covered by Acura at not cost to me. I highly reccomend Hoen Acura they are honest and do a wonderfull job. read more

The service rep Tom was amazing. Had my acura give me a check engine light along with various other issues. I went immediately given a loaner which they let me keep for a week (not because it took them that long to fix, but I was not able to come by again for that long) They were communicative and very pleasant to deal with. One star came off because I felt it was a little pricey, but dealerships are generally more pricey than other repairshops but I went there knowing they would know whats wrong with an Acura. read more

I took my 2007 Acura MCX in for a squeaking sound coming from the front end. They diagnosed a bad left front strut which I purchased for $850. They wanted $450 to install it which sounded high so another shop installed it for less than $200. The squeak was still present so I returned to have them identify the correct source of the noise. After a day they said they couldn't duplicate the noise even though I told them it was apparent backing out of a driveway. So I returned a second day. I was able to reproduce the sound loud and clear in their own lot with their service manager present in my car who heard it. The service manager told me that they would have to hear the sound in order to determine the problem. However, even after hearing the sound the service manager said in no uncertain terms that he would not spend any more time working on my car to solve this problem. I was shocked at such an arrogant attitude. What kind of an Acura dealer refuses to work on an Acura, especially after telling a customer to spend $1000 on a repair that didn't fix the problem? Unbelievably terrible customer service! I will never return to this dealership for anything. I sent emails to the dealership manager, service manager zone customer relations department about this situation and no one offered to help me in any manner. read more

An update for those following this sad saga. STEER CLEAR OF HOEHN, ACURA, AND ESPECIALLY THE 2016 ILX! First, just Google the 2016 ILX. You will read page after page after page of people with the very same problem as us even to the point of Acura acknowledging the issues and future recalls are coming. Yet, they tell us there is nothing wrong with our car YET they have "updated the software" - TWICE, replaced the front axle, replaced the brakes, and replaced the transmission. The car has been the shop since the second week and they have had it more than us. The sad part? Each and EVERY time we are told that 2,3,4 different people have driven it and it's fine. Then we get home and it's NOT. But if we're crazy, then why do they keep fixing things? Yesterday we brought it home with the "new transmission that was checked out by four people" and it's even worse than before. Now WE must go through the tedious process of the lemon law. Just like all the other 5-Star reviews, we were VERY happy and loyal customers. It's easy to be happy when there is no problem. But if there is a problem, GOD HELP YOU! Hoehn & Acura will p**s on your leg and tell you it's raining. They will play dumb, lie to your face and, at the same time, tell you how they are "on your side and are here to help you." And pray you do not meet with some big-shot regional Acura rep. When you tell him that all these problems are typical and all over the Internet, he will literally LAUGH IN YOUR FACE and say "Do you believe everything you read online?" This dealership and manufacturer are beyond stupid. They lost loyal and repeat customers who referred others and wrote great reviews. Now, we will NEVER purchase another Acura product or shop at ANY Hoehn-owned dealership! And rather than recommendations & referrals we tell our story at every opportunity.
