Me and the boys flew out from Columbus, OH solely for the purpose of trying Hog Wild Pit Bar-B-Q. We were under the impression that Wichita, KS had THE best smoked Korean pig in the midwest, and possibly the nation. Upon arrival, we entered the doors of Hog Wild like a pack of testosterone filled bulls, deprived of a mate. We ordered the family pack, #4 edition which included 4lbs of meat, 4 quarts of sides, and 16 buns w/ sauce. Let's just say it was NOT enough, these big ole bull balls way more than 4lbs of meat in themself. Talk about LOW BALLIN'. Anyway, after a trip to the bathroom and 6 rolls of toilet paper, I was able to finally get the hell out of that place, burning butt hole and all. In conclusion, DO NOT GET THE BULGOGI; you might as well drink a bottle of laxative down the hatch!

Great BBQ and lunch stop. Had the 3 meat dinner for lunch - ribs, beef brisket, and hot links for $8.99, Ribs were standout - meaty, yet succulent, and with a nice mild sauce.

Ribs, pulled pork, baked beans, potato salad, bread

I got the 2 meal: ribs & pulled pork with sides of potato salad & baked beans. Service: food came out almost immediately Portion: overall on the larger size, which I have no complaints with. Ribs: pretty top notch ribs. They were really good. I would recommend. Pulled Pork: kind of dry & bland for me. It's definitely a "add a lot of their barbeque sauce" if you're eating in house. Potato Salad: a good option if you like potato salad. They didn't mess it up (I have seen places that have) Baked Beans: nicely seasoned. Not too overwhelming in taste. Sweet. Bread: I think all meals come with two pieces of bread lightly toasted. Overall: I would recommend this place. & Get The Ribs!

I wasn't there very long. The food was okay. It seems like a good traditional meat restaurant to eat with family and friends. The toasts were pretty good!

Driver thru order: Brisket w fries and coleslaw & 1/2 slab. Got: Pulled pork, mashed potatoes and Mac 'n cheese and ribs. Do they cook anything there or just heat it up? Ribs were inedible. Overcooked and seemed like they were prepared days ago. Ate one and threw rest away. Pulled pork very average. Came in two equal servings wrapped in foil. Why? Like it was portioned out in advance. Institutional tasting mashed potatoes. Not even close to real. Mac/cheese nothing special. A memorable meal because it was so bad.

Always nice, sometimes really busy, but great food and staff. I usually call ahead and do pickup.

Whenever I go to or through Wichita, I stop at one of their locations. Pull pork sandwich and fries are the best!

Great barbecue, especially the brisket and the ribs (tender and fall off the bone great)!! Fairly quick and reasonably priced.

Yelp menu prices are way too low. Prices much higher at hogwildpitbbq.com/bbq-menu.php. Too high for me.

From the moment I walked in, I knew I was about to experience something special. My taste buds didn't just wake up -- they rejoiced! This wasn't just a meal; it was a full-blown experience wrapped in smoke and perfection. Let's talk about the legends first. Their smoked sausage gravy and biscuits, and Texas Twinkies have wowed me before, and I'm here to testify: they absolutely did not let me down this time. The biscuits and gravy were flawless -- perfectly tender biscuits smothered in rich, savory smoked sausage gravy that tasted like it was crafted with love and a little bit of magic. Every bite was comfort food at its highest level. And the Texas Twinkies - Amazingly indescribable. Smoky, cheesy, savory masterpieces with just the right kick -- the kind of bite that makes you pause mid-conversation just to appreciate what's happening. But now... the revelation. The new pork belly cinnamon rolls with frosting. Let me just say this: talk about melting in your mouth. Sweet, smoky pork belly wrapped in a delicious blend of warm cinnamon and brown sugar. Slowly melted into a sweet and Rich caramel-like sweetness and topped with luscious frosting. It was the kind of creation that makes you question why all cinnamon rolls aren't made this way. The balance of savory and sweet was nothing short of genius. Station 8 BBQ doesn't just serve food -- they serve moments. They serve joy. They serve flavors that linger in your memory long after the plate is clean. If you haven't made the pilgrimage yet, go. Your soul (and your stomach) will thank you.

The people running the restaurant was friendly and generous enough that they gave me a free coke and smoked peanuts since I was the first one in line. As soon as the door opened, I came in and got the platter with brisket, and molasses burnt-ends. For the sides, I got the smoked mac, baked beans, and the jalapeño cornbread pudding. The inside had a retro and industrial feeling which makes sense since it's inside an old fire station. The brisket was so tender to the point that I can barely pick it up with a fork without the meat falling apart. Also, the brisket was comparable and just as good as the brisket that I had back in Texas but without the 5+ hr drive. Why go to Texas when you have this? The only downside was that it was expensive, but the food quality makes it worthwhile. Despite the heat, waiting in line for about an hour was worth it since the line was out the door by the time I was done eating. Overall, it's one of my new favorite places for BBQ and one of my favorite restaurants in Wichita and it blows even BBQ places in KC out of the water. Oh, but it might be the best place for BBQ in my home state of Kansas I've ever eaten even beating Joe's in KC. Even that, it competes with many BBQ joints in Texas. If you want the full experience, make sure to be in line by 10:15 am (by 10am or earlier depending on the day if you want to be the first in line if you want a chance to get some surprises).

Another year, another restaurant pops up to occupy the doomed little building near 47th and Seneca…read more Everything about Sweet Willy's is heavy-handed, from the menu's cartoon cowboy claiming this to be the best barbecue he's had, to the amount of hickory used in the meat that ensures you're going to smell like the woods before you make it back to the car. Going so over the top doesn't help my old barbecue standbys: the pork was on the way to becoming jerky, the brisket was dry and the fat unrendered, and even the sausage had a casing that was too thick for my liking. The ribs, on the other hand, stood up to the smoke well, producing a caramelized crust that gave way to tender meat that came off the bone cleanly. I'm not normally a ribs guy, but it was one of the saving graces of the meal. What Sweet Willy's lacks in panache it makes up for in gusto. The menu is peppered with all sorts of non-traditional applications of barbecue, from poutine to chicken lollipops to tacos, though the most surprisingly enjoyable thing may be the burnt ends, which are tossed in a honey and garlic sauce that is not only more subtle than the KC-style sauces served with everything else, but surprisingly works well with the sugars in the meat in a way that doesn't overwhelm. There's clearly a lot of effort put into Sweet Willy's, but not a lot of confidence, no matter how many "yums" are on the menu. There's some good to be found in places you wouldn't expect, but the brisket and pork are serve as the foundation upon which the rest of the menu is built, so improving them should be the first priority.

The garlic slaw isn't too sweet, the sweet potato salad is a surprisingly delicious change from traditional, and the baked beans are the perfect mix of sweet smoky and a kick.
