I didn't realize how much I missed Rib Crib until we stopped here on our last visit and I had their brisket and hot link sandwich. (The Cribwich) Highly recommend the fries to go with it. Well seasoned and complements the BBQ sauces perfectly. The green beans are good too, the corn in the cob is only half a cob and not worth it. It's fine but not worth it. The brisket is juicy with a balanced fat cap. The links are hot so if you have reflux I'd take something before you come or immediately after. The BBQ sauces are good. I like regular and hot the most. There is a mustard version as well. I think there is a sweet one also so if you are more in the mood for southern BBQ, go for that one. Fyi, southern BBQ is sweet sugary BBQ. Kansas BBQ is savory and tangy. The meat is flavor smoked well so you don't need to use sauce. Aka, real BBQ. But I love sauce so....yeah. I really am looking forward to our next visit and plan to eat here again. It's also nice I won't have to drive all the way down to Derby anymore to get my Cribwich fix. read more

Why 3 stars: It's an average bbq - consistent wherever you go, it's not a giant in the bbq world- it's not extra special but it's good decent food. The service is what you would expect- average, decent and good- not anything that would make you say- "WOW" etc... The ambiance is somewhat country, somewhat casual, somewhat divey... Surely by now- you know- 3 stars is not bad- it's good decent food service etc... Worth going to, they have a limited selection of hard drinks and beer, along with other standard drinks. A good lunch menu- decent variety of meats, salads and starts etc... read more

I had been told good things, so I finally gave them a chance. I had 2 ribs, pulled pork, sliced brisket, potato salad, and fried okra. Honestly the beat thing was the okra. Ribs: over cooked and dry Pork: good cook, very little flavor, had use sauce Brisket: horrible. Cut with the gran. Very think. Over cooked, dry and so much rub it was like a salt lick. 5th time since first visiting this location when Jason-server-was working. The Guy KNOWS customer service spot on. After Jason the service & food Quality has gone DOWN Hill majorly. 05/07/24 Cinched it for my family. The server who took our orders Natalie was very pleasant, Friendly, Respectful. She made a VERY minor mistake on 1 of of our drinks (too much ice in my daughters soda) & scrambled to fix it as soon as it was brought to her attention. Overall a very good job. The KID who brought our food-Not Natalie/missed her name-was Rude, arrogant, seemed like was just there for a paycheck. When asked a simple common question at BBQ joints aka "do you have any hot sauce besides what's here on the table?" SNAPPED at me. She was "working for me" she WOULDN'T be. Food: mac & cheese-dry, way El Dente pasta, tasted like powdered cheese. Baked Beans: No flavor, cold. Brisket: Slightly warm, no flavor, tough to chew. Sorry to say it but this location has NO consistency AT ALL in service OR food Quality. NONE. Fix the problems Rib Crib OR you will be gone FAST!!! There are to many BBQ joints in the area aka PLENTY of other places to go to. read more

Dinner tonight at Rib Crib, Derby, KS. Loved the rustic ambiance! The service was very good, the server attentive and checked up on us twice during dinner. I ordered the Okie Ribs, cole slaw, and onion rings. Dinner came with toast and a pickle slice. The server brought mac & cheese instead of cole slaw, but she quickly brought what I had originally ordered when I pointed out the mistake. The onion rings were good, but a little more coating than I would like. My main criticism is that the ribs, although tasty, were overcooked. That was a disappointment! read more

I visit RibCrib every time I'm in town for work and I always leave feeling full and satisfied. I love everything from salads, chicken wings, ribs, fried okras and all their other yummy sides. They are very generous with their portion sizes that most of the time I have leftovers. My mom and I are in town for business today and we stopped in for lunch. We went a little overboard and ordered the chicken wings for starters, the 3 bones, and the half cage for our entree. We have enough for lunch AND dinner! I felt the everything tasted great, but was disappointed with the portions. I had the two meat option for $15.99 and chose sausage and ribs. Imagine my sadness when I realized it came with only two sad little ribs lol. The sausage was just ok. I give them thumbs up for customer service though, our sever was phenomenal. The queso was amazing. I'm going to go ahead & say that for me it stole the show. I also really liked the boozy cherry limeade. I ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes & corn. It wasn't horrible but it definitely wasn't anywhere near my favorite. I took 2 bites of the corn & left it. It was so mushy. The steak was very tough & the gravy was pretty blah. Tuesday is the only day I have ever gone into Rib Crib. That is the day they serve all the ribs you can eat. I've list count of the times I gave sauntered in and waddled out, stuffed to the eyeballs with delicious, meaty ribs. The Carolina mustard sauce is my kryptonite. The bbq sauce is sweet but also a spicy version can do damage if over used. Sides are numerous and unlimited as well. I have never seen a menu. They have them. I just know what I want and never open one. Go visit. Maybe you can offer a review of all of the other delicious meats they have. read more

I've been to two rib cribs, this one and the one in Derby, and this one BY FAR out shines the one in derby. The atmosphere in general is calmer and newer, the staff is very friendly and doesn't rush your check to you to try to get you out, and the food is delicious! I've been to this one twice now, and got the same thing, the Smoky Chicken Griller, and it is mouth watering. The Texas toast is very buttery (which sometimes gets my fingers kinda greasy), plenty of meat on the sandwich, savory sauce to compliment, and plenty of fries to go along side. PLUS, they give you a "souvenir" cup to take home too. Very surprised by this after coming from the Derby location. Overall, a great place to eat and hang out with friends and family. read more

Service was fantastic. We arrived and were quickly seated. Our drinks were continuously filled and our server was excellent. We ordered the fried pickles and we inhaled them they were do good. They did a thick cut pickle so it didn't slip out of its breading. Since the appetizers were good, we had high hopes for dinner. The main courses were mediocre at best. It was a nice evening and they were busy. Sat us right away. Server was informative and polite, too. Made good suggestions for our virgin menu eyes. Ribs were on our minds, my wife enjoyed the Mac n cheese. It was kind of a good night to use our gift cards from them. Overall - I'm partial to B&C, Bite Me and Pig In - Pig Out, so these guys are a solid #4. Sans a review someday from Billy Sims. I'm sure I've left a few out. Nobody will beat Auntie Sweets from '79, just for the ambiance at 3 AM! Anyways - good job at The Rib Crib, we enjoyed our experience and will return. read more

Ordered the $49.99 family pack and side ordered of pull pork. Wanted to try a little of everything. The brisket and pork ribs were well seasoned and quite tasty. Pull pork was tendered. The sides were alright, nothing special but edible. 4 stars because I'm not a fan of their sauces. Food is consistently good here. Service is decent and the food comes out quick. Portions are large as I almost always take some home. Cribwich and pigman sandwiches are combo meat sandwiches and very tasty. Highly recommend the St.Louis ribs, much more meatier than the baby backs. Can't go wrong eating here. read more

The potato salad was your typical potato salad, not sure it was made in house but I could be wrong. The spicy pickles were very good as well. I went in just to pick up a BBQ pizza for supper and decided to get a two meat dinner since I had never been before. The prices are average, my meal was 16.50 and I had a water to drink. They offer tea and soda as well. The employees were very friendly, restaurant was nice and clean. It reminded me of a typical bbq joint, smelled of smoke and meat, and had a few BBQ trophy's scattered throughout the entryway. Their BBQ sauce is also for sale if you want to purchase for home. Overall, I'd rate it a 7.5 on a scale of 1-10.

I wasn't too excited about the sides (I'm all about fries and rings with my BBQ) so I got 1/2 lb of lean brisket. The meat was very lean and tender with a nice smokey flavor. It got only 4 stars because I suspect they use the Texas crutch which prevents a nice crisp bark. I was not able to get my go-to as they only have burnt ends as a special. Service was great. Friendly people and the food was prepared fresh for us. It's a cute little place with lots of seating inside and everything was clean and tidy.

Going so over the top doesn't help my old barbecue standbys: the pork was on the way to becoming jerky, the brisket was dry and the fat unrendered, and even the sausage had a casing that was too thick for my liking. The ribs, on the other hand, stood up to the smoke well, producing a caramelized crust that gave way to tender meat that came off the bone cleanly. I'm not normally a ribs guy, but it was one of the saving graces of the meal. What Sweet Willy's lacks in panache it makes up for in gusto. The menu is peppered with all sorts of non-traditional applications of barbecue, from poutine to chicken lollipops to tacos, though the most surprisingly enjoyable thing may be the burnt ends, which are tossed in a honey and garlic sauce that is not only more subtle than the KC-style sauces served with everything else, but surprisingly works well with the sugars in the meat in a way that doesn't overwhelm. There's clearly a lot of effort put into Sweet Willy's, but not a lot of confidence, no matter how many "yums" are on the menu. There's some good to be found in places you wouldn't expect, but the brisket and pork are serve as the foundation upon which the rest of the menu is built, so improving them should be the first priority.
