The salad options (shrimp, potato, tuna, and chicken) in the deli case also looked homemade and fresh. My only complaint is the price point, clocking in around $21 per hoagie and ~$16 per sandwich. The sandwiches can definitely be split given the size, especially if paired with a bag of chips, but it's still a lot for one meal. The staff is friendly and efficient, the sandwich offerings and quality are worth the price. The shrimp salad, while not a usual order for me, was delicious, I would order it again and again except that there's a serious menu of items that I want to try all of. Believe me, we tried to find reasons to need to grab more food during our most recent Ocean City trip, sadly our stomachs just couldn't accommodate more. The freshly made sides looked really good as well. However, the sandwiches with a bag of chips was the perfect beach lunch. You can also dine it and enjoy a beverage at the bar or purchase liquor to go. The seltzer selection was amazing and the wine selection was top tier. The store is small but packed with goodness. Service was quick at the deli counter and checking out, making for a seamless process. Parking is limiting so it is best to reach by foot. Never again. I've been coming to Anthony's for decades and today will be my last time. My last experience was during Poor Girls Open week and resulted in the deli staff "chirping the word CHEAP" at me as I walked away with my order to get change to tip, and pay for my order. They obviously thought they deserved a full $20 tip for making $90 worth of to-go sandwiches, but my intent was to get change and tip $10. Today, the first time I've been in since that visit, I ordered almost $80 with of subs and deli meats. While I was checking out, I saw two stack of boxes and asked if I could have a small box (it was about 8 x 10 inches) to keep my meats and subs cold for the hour long ride home. The cashier said "No, we reserve those for the big orders." I seriously thought he was kidding. Nope! A almost $80 dollar order doesn't qualify for a free cardboard liquor box. Between the deli staffs rude and entitled attitude and the cheapness of giving away a simple cardboard box, I will never give them another cent. There are far too many other sandwich places in OC that are more polite, make better sandwiches, and are more appreciative of customers that support their business. read more

Intrigued with the cool neon sign outside over the decades, and looking for fare transcending Subway and the like, I decided to give Anthony's a shot. I admit mixed feelings about Boar's Head over their Jarratt, VA facility and contaminated product, but hey, that was a while ago. Heard about these great sandwiches in Ocean City so definitely had to try it out. The sandwich shop is inside a liquor store so don't be intimidated. The workers are nice. They had a wide range of choices. When I got there, it was a good amount of people and they were very quick to take your order. We got the "Flagship" sandwich, which was filled with a bunch of their cold cuts. It was very flavorful - they put a lot of onions, which I love. The sandwiches are a bit pricey, but it can definitely feed 2 people. I only ate a half and I was full. I would come again when I'm in Ocean City and try their liverwurst sandwich. Sandwiches were well made, plenty of fillings and worth the price. The Flagship or Italian hero was a 12 inch hero with all the fixings. The roast beef sandwich on a roll was even better. The roll was very soft and fresh. We got a bag of chips to go. Total was almost $40. There's free parking and menu posted on a board outside with no prices listed until you get inside. This is the perfect spot to fill that cooler and pick up lunch on the way to the beach. Service was nice and quick. Hidden gem in a good location.. we were actually staying closer to this place , so parking wasn't a problem for us , but generally there are very few spots at the back for customers . When we went the parking slots were full and it's kind of a wait time for visitors . Apart from this , it's very affordable to get drinks here and drink ... other places charge premium for any type of beers . Many bars just give u bottles (like blue moon etc ) and charge about 6-7$ .. you can get a 6 pack in. Anthony's :) they also have snacks , food , kids drinks etc .. liked this place . I've never bought liquor here. LOL Because... it's so much more than a liquor store. It's true as a liquor store. It is really grand with a fabulous selection in a well laid out area. Biting into the fresh and crisp lettuce and onions, the added juiciness of the tomatoes, and the m=freshly sliced meats and cheese...CHEFS KISS! My mouth is watering just remembering the sandwiches. There is nothing like a good sandwich, I'm telling you! I'd say the size is definitely shareable if you grab a bag of chips while you're there. The ambience of this place is what you'd think: a liquor store with a deli inside. Nothing crazy. I do wish they had a place you could sit and eat, even if it was outside. That would be a nice touch. Every time I visit OCMD, I like to stop by Anthony's ! There's usually lots of people (which is ok) so expect to wait a little bit. I used to really love this spot and have eaten here 1-2 times a year, every year since about 2013. But this year, I'm just unimpressed. The prices have risen again, around 10% for some items meaning they've gone up 20% since 2021, which feels like a lot. My son still loves his Lil Mate, so that's good, but $10 for a ham and cheese sandwich is a little outrageous. My Wheelhouse however was so disappointing. Anthony's has been on the expensive side for a long time, but high quality has always made me come back. However my sandwich today was super disappointing. As you can see from the picture, it was a dilapidated mess with ingredients falling out all over it. The bun was also not fresh and tasted like it was sitting out for a whole. The maker also drenched the bun on both sides with the dressing, which again really detracted from the sandwich. I normally would go easier on the shortcomings for a sandwich, but this is now $17, so at that price, it should be fantastic in both quality and presentation, which it wasn't. read more
