    Coffee me please
    Thuy W.

I'm Soo happy, I swing by for some coffee. They make their own syrup and grind their own coffee. I ordered the Dingo Ice Latte ( warm note of honey, vanilla and cinnamon) I did add some lavender to it. It was sooooo delicious . The coffee taste ridiculously fresh( which I love!), I can definitely taste the lavender in it. It wasn't too sweet at all! I pair it with a pastry, Rum raisin. The cream on the inside was filled with raisins and the flakyness went so well. Every bite was a little taste of heaven with a sip of coffee. I truly enjoy everything I ordered. Cashier was super sweet. Parking is limited to street only, but on a Wednesday morning wasn't to bad. Thank you for my wonderful cup of java for the road back home( NC).

The service here was really cute and such a cute environment to do work or study. The lamb was better quality that I expected for a cafe. It was soft and was great in the sandwich. Love love the chocolate croissant! I think there was dates in it that made it taste different but a good way different. Would def come back to try other pastries

My partner and I went for a quick bite and an afternoon pick-me-up in this conveniently located spot. The staff were attentive and helpful. I would say the coffee was not overly sweet, great espresso, overall a 10/10. Our only qualm was the lambwich meat was a tad dry. I would definitely come here for the cute vibes and tasty coffee:)

    Hohl bowl and avocado toast

Came here for a quick lunch and I ordered the hohl bowl (10/10) it was gigantic and sooo good. It has roasted chicken, arugula, roasted veggies (asparagus, broccoli, onion, and mushrooms, and corn), edamame, hummus, and a side of miso sauce! I didn't even add the miso sauce as the bowl itself was delicious and would've been too salty with it! The chicken was a little overcooked/dry, but that's the only issue I found My mom ordered the avocado toast with poached eggs and mushrooms (8/10) the bread was so thin and impossible to cut but the pickled cauliflower was really good! I also had the espresso tonic (10/10 with it half sweet) Overall a cute cafe with some delicious food and nice staff!

    That was not four eggs.

For my second visit to Hohl's downtown, my opinion of the food remains the same: it's all tasty. My opinion of the pricing remains the same: it's all WILDLY overpriced. My plate of scrambled eggs and a slice of sourdough bread was $11. My wife's side of eggs, which came served in a side ramekin, was $4. We are talking about food cost measured in pennies totaling nearly $17 with tax. The staff are always very friendly, but being friendly about delivering ridiculous answers somehow rings hollow. Today, we were initially told that they were out of the listed sourdough and were defaulting to the alternate side choice of greens. I'm sorry, but when you are out of an item, it is up to the restaurant to absorb the cost of making it right for the customer; it may be more expensive to substitute a croissant or other slice of bread, but when you have failed to provide a cornerstone of your menu, you suck it up and make the guest happy. They miraculously found more sourdough, but that brings me to my next point: it took nearly thirty minutes to be served what amounted to three scrambled eggs and a slice of toast . This is a ticket which should take no more than three minutes to prepare. When I'd finally did get the table, there was no butter or salt; we ate the toast while walking out the door because it was forgotten and we had to ask for it a second time. I'm afraid that the experience continues to diminish without seeing an increase in value.

Outstanding food, definitely gets busy! The Kerfluffle Pancake is something else: the menu description reads like the kitchen sink, which is reinforced when it shows up, but it really all works well together! It ends up as a nice combination of salty, sweet, tart, and savory that really goes well with a cup of coffee. For lunch, the lamb sandwich is shockingly high caliber for a cafe, the lamb itself could be served at a high-end restaurant as an entree with the flavor and tenderness they get from it. The veggie sandwich was good as well, and more than filling!

Hohl is a cute place that's always busy. I like how you order at the counter and then take a number to any table for your server to bring your order when it's ready. The menu is kind-of small with interesting offerings. My friend and I both ordered the Fig & Prosciutto flat rectangular pastry covered in goat cheese, prosciutto, fresh cut figs, and served heated. It was so yummy!! My friend had the Red Juice, which she really liked. I had the Butterfly Effect pea flower iced tea with lemon agave syrup that when I added the syrup, it turned my blue drink into a purple drink. It was delicious! Hohl is a pleasant place for breakfast or lunch.

This was a cute little café located by colonial Williamsburg. You can dine in for breakfast or brunch or you could grab something on the go. Prices are a little high, but I guess that's to be expected with the price of inflation. We ordered a brownie which was delicious , Greek yogurt bowl with this amazing rhubarb compote , fresh berries and house made granola it's hands-down probably one of the best granola bowls I've ever had . The affogato has a unique twist crumbled cereal on top which was a very nice touch. So if you are visiting the area I would definitely give this place a try .

I've been here a handful of time and keep skipping everything else on my walk to go here. Lattes are delicious and not bitter and presented great. I've had the lamb sandwich and the veggie sandwich. Both are good but the veggie sandwich in particular will have me coming back. Croissant was also good, but probably would skip next time. Highly recommend :)

Wow, I got a butterscotch sesame cookie and it was so good (and huge). And I love cream so I loved that it was a topping on the cookie. The space is so cute, smells amazing (like bacon) and has two floors of seating. Definitely coming back to try more things.

    The cutest coffee pot!

This is their 2nd location in Williamsburg-James City County and right within walking distance of Colonial Williamsburg. It's in a house and I don't believe it is handicap accessible. They do have outside seating on their lawn area that you wouldn't need stairs to access but would have to have a friend order your drink. Inside there is seating both upstairs and downstairs. You order downstairs and they bring you your drink/food order after they give you a number when you order. Drinks: I got a plain drip coffee that came in the cutest mini coffee pot with half & half and a side of their syrup (can't recall the name but it was delicious) I'm a sucker for a cute drink set-up so I would order this again just for the coffee pot. Service: everyone I encountered was extremely nice and polite! Drinks and food didn't take too long even though the place was packed. I was with a large group of 15 but we were able to find a space upstairs, and enjoy drinks and breakfast items.

Absolutely delicious and fresh food. The matcha and batch brew are also delicious. Love the in house made syrups. Very aesthetically pleasing experience from decor to the food itself! The staff are also very kind and efficient.

    Avo Toast

A cute new brunch spot near Merchant Square! We arrived around 10:30am on a weekday and it was packed. Nearly every table was full, including an outdoor table. It took 25 minutes for our food to arrive to our table after placing the order. We ordered the veggie sandwich with added scrambled eggs, and an avocado toast. Both were delicious, however different than listed on the menu. The veggie sandwich was missing the roasted squash and cauliflower, but had a pickled carrot/cabbage slaw. The avocado toast lacked the pickled cauliflower, shiitake mushrooms, and asparagus, and had broccoli and portobello mushrooms instead. It was also substantially smaller than when ordered in the past. The size of your toast may depend on how close to the edge of the bread loaf your piece was sliced. Not sure if these were seasonal menu changes, or substitutions made due to produce availability, but either way I wish we had been informed of the differences while ordering. The only milk options are whole and oat milk.

Great food. Great vibe. Latte was amazing and cheaper than other cafes in the area. The service was also quick and the people were nice.

However, I would not recommend the brownie and chocolate sundae dessert. The brownie and cookie were cold and hard, which made the dessert disappointing. On the positive side, the carrot cake was huge and definitely worth sharing -- easily enough for 3-4 people. The service was excellent as well. Our waiter was very attentive throughout the meal and made sure everything was taken care of. Overall, Second Street American delivers great food variety, strong service, and a family-friendly atmosphere, with just a few misses on dessert.

Nothing wrong with this little grab-and-go carry out shop but at the same time, I wouldn't call it anything ahhhhmazzzzinggggg that would warrant more than just an average 3 star rating. Better than and more options than a hotel lobby self serve "mini mart." They serve self serve coffee (Members, don't forget to ask for your complimentary daily coffee tickets upon check-in!) but this place also has a barista for hot or iced lattes. Decent lattes, thankfully made with espresso shots not watered down or weak & wimpy. On par with what you would get at Starbucks. The latte menu is NOT extensive so don't expect a long latte/coffee drink menu like at Starbucks. I posted a pic of the latte/tea/juice/bfast sando menu with prices so have a look. Staff is SUPER NICE but both times I was there getting a hot latte, there was ONE WORKER each time running cash AND barista-ing. Not many more can fit behind that tiny ordering counter frankly. Thus - if you see any kind of long line, BE PREPARED TO WAIT. Or come back during non-rush hours. (Remember this is a conference center so it is highly likely conference attendees will be lining up to order before the start of the conference day and in between sessions throughout the day!) I read on their website that all their baked goods and pastries as well as sandwiches, salads etc are freshly house made there on prem so that's nice. Prices are not break the bank (for a hotel). My small hot vanilla latte was $7. Like I said - as a hotel lobby grab-and-go so you don't have to walk far or drive to get your latte-fix on, The Cupboard is right-there-convenient and will absolutely do just fine. If you DO feel like going off the property to go to an indie coffee shop, I drove to and tried the relatively new Grit Coffee in Midtown for the first time - pretty good (read my review and see my pics): Or go to the ever-famous Aromas in CW near the William&Mary campus, an OG legend which imo is overhyped but still a good option - parking can be a pain, frankly better to walk there from the hotel (it's prob a 20 min walk to Aromas but you walk straight down beautiful CW - on a nice day, can't beat that.).
