I LOVE THIS PLACE. On-campus korean fried chicken? Did I mention these wings aren't even expensive! They're literally a $1 per wing, which I am very willing to pay to satisfy my need for soy garlic fried chicken. I ordered the $8 drumsticks and I literally ate all of them instantly. Asian fusion tacos? Better yet, Asian fusion tacos done right?? I'm blown away that they tasted good. Although they aren't worth $3 to me, they're nice tasting and hit some spot that I didn't even know I had. I had the bulgogi taco and I could not recommend it even more. Their service was slow so I wouldn't recommend coming if you're on a time crunch. Also they have little indoor seating that give a kind of stuffy atmosphere, but since I got my order to-go, I didn't mind. I wanted to check at my second visit if that day specifically had a sweeter sauce applied, but the second time I also had the same experience. This place is the best (and only true) fusion you'll find in Ann Arbor at reasonable prices. The wings are good, extra fried, suspiciously large, and juicy. I recommend sticking with the Hot and Spicy sauce rather than the Garlic for the wings, as the garlic was bland. The hot and spicy is great! The tacos are the star of the show. With ample meat, and pickled onion on top, they really are the tastiest tacos you'll have in A2 (and the only fusion ones). At $3/taco you could probably fill up on 3 tacos for under $10. The interior itself has been redone from when this location was a disappointing Greek place and its cozy, but serviceable, if you do want to eat in. If you decide to get take out, you can order ahead on their website with no service fee, or just order in person. When I went it only took about 5 minutes to get my order. This will likely become my go to lunch spot in the area as it is far superior to any other lunch option in the central campus/state st area. read more

Hola Seoul is a more-than-sufficient replacement for the late, great Mezzes (sp?) that used to inhabit this location. Although there seems to be a relatively high number of Ann Arbor establishments serving Korean cuisine, Hot Seoul still managed to find an empty niche to fill -- fast service, street food-inspired. By way of aesthetics, I am very impressed by the artistic minds who revamped this small corner space. Bland and depressing in its previous lifetime, Hola Seoul now glimmers with a smart, minimalist feel. A pleasure to dine here for this reason alone. As far as food, a confident four stars. Plenty of flavor on the tacos, loved the green onion garnish over the popcorn chicken, and ya can't go wrong with kimchi. I was pretty sad to discover that Mezes is no longer around, but Hola Seoul has made pretty good use of this spot on North U. I've had the kimchi fries and boneless thighs from here. The kimchi fries were polarizing-- I thought they were decent, could be better but mostly good, but my girlfriend wasn't a fan at all. The chicken however, was excellent. I got a mix of both flavors: soy garlic and the spicier flavor I forget the name of. The spicy flavor is actually pretty spicy, definitely moreso than I expected. The soy garlic flavor was the standout though-- first few bites in I knew I'd be making a return visit for them. Definitely going to look to try the tacos when I come back too. Overall a fun spot with good food, they don't push the fusion thing too hard or lean too hard into the gimmick in my opinion. I got the Kimchi Fries and the KFC and it was some of the best I've ever had! The portions are on the smaller side, but still very filling! BEST FRIED CHICKEN IN TOWN!!! I'm so glad there is a local, on-campus Korean fried chicken restaurant that is reasonably priced, quick to order, and straight up delicious. The spicy sauce is perfect with that tangy, sweet gochujang taste. If you order the sauce on the side, its actually a bit spicier since it is not heated when marinating the fried chicken. LOVED IT. After reading all the reviews about this place, I finally decided that I wanted to try something different and order takeout from here. The lady at the front counter was very helpful and the food was ready within the designated time. I ordered two Bulgogi Tacos, an order of Seoul Giant Dumplings, and two orders of Korean Fried Chicken; the first order was hot and spicy, and the second-order was soy garlic. When I got home, I was excited to try this fusion of cultures. When I took my first bite, I was disappointed the taco was not as good as I thought it was going to be. I was even more disappointed in the chicken because it looked good. My main issue with the chicken is that there was too much breading and not enough meat. The sauces were also nothing to rave about. Finally, the dumplings were overly greasy and absorbed into the veggies. I was not too happy with this place; the food did not match the great service I received which is honestly sad. Amazing if you like jumbo wings. They are just not my thing. Order the medium wings 50/50 soy garlic, and spicy. The sauce on these korean wings are fire. Aka tasty and super crunchy! The fries were fresh cut and perfect. We also ordered the bimimpap with chicken. It was humungous, and flavorful! I go here for lunch every couple weeks. They give you a freakish amount of popcorn chicken. The medium is enough for three people. It's awesome. The cup bap lunch special is also good and a very large portion. I'm less of a fan of the tacos, chicken sandwich, and corn dogs. I came here for lunch a few times and have tried a variety of their food. The fried chicken reminds me of the other major Korean fried chicken restaurant, but they use sauce to flavor after the deep frying here, whereas the other place puts the flavor in the batter. The chicken is always hot, tender and juicy, and two flavors are both good! Their Bibimbop is decent, with a good amount of crunch from the vegetables, seaweed salad (which I haven't seen in bibimbops), and the sauce that comes with it is spot on! The duk-bok-ki (did I misspell it?) packs a good amount of heat. Since I've never made this dish myself, I wonder how long it takes to seep the flavor into the rice cakes - I wish the rice cakes could have a little flavor in the interior. I also asked for additional zucchini in it and I thought that added a nice balance. The original dish only has onions besides the rice cakes and fish cakes. I only tried the Bulgogi taco so far (other toppings look appealing too!). It was delicious with some pickled vegetables and two layers of soft corn tortilla. The service is nice, fast and pleasant. My first time there they gave me extra chicken strips for the fried chicken and my more recent time they gave me extra veggie in the duk-bok-ki with no extra charge. I think they have a great promise for success once the students are back, but I'm also not sure how well they will handle a busy crowd with things like the fried chicken that would take longer to cook and their kitchen doesn't seem that big. I wish them all the success! It's time to have a challenger to the only Korean fried chicken place in town who thrives despite of the terrible service just because they can. read more

Got four boneless thighs in the hot & spicy sauce for only $8 (what an amazing price) and it was the BEST fried chicken I've ever had in my entire life!!! The breading is so airy and crunchy and the chicken is moist and the sauce was so flavorful and the presentation was really gorgeous with the sesame seeds and the green onions.
