    Kpop demon hunters themed drinks

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet, this was our 3rd or 4th time here. It's been a while since we don't have the time to sit down at a nice restaurant very often when we're in Ann Arbor but this was a fine choice this time around. The food here is so fresh and classic Korean with a little twist sometimes. It's the perfect balance of salty, spicy, umami in every bite. We had the radish kimchi and carrot salad to start (carrot salad is on the house these days). Both were really good. Crunchy and spicy. Next we had the lotus roots with soy nuts on top. These are one of the absolute favorites that we tried last time and had to get again this time. Salty, crunchy, nutty, yum! After that we got the Street Style Tteokbokki which has the egg on it. This was delicious, chewy and crispy rice batons with a spicy sauce and creamy egg and lardons. We got the royale style the time before and it was also amazing! We finished off last time and this time with the Korean fried chicken where we get the soy glaze on it and a bowl of the spicy sauce on the side so that my eating companion and I can adjust the spice to our liking. This is absolutely the best and a must get! And either my spice tolerance is up or they adjusted the spice down, but it was absolutely perfect this time around. We also opted for the soy butter rice this time which was good but almost too rich for me. My eating companion said this was the best, but I'm on the fence. I think it could use more soy and less butter. We don't get any desserts this time around but I did get the kpop demon hunters themed "gonna be golden" hot toddy with apricot brandy and it was perfect for the cold winter day. Service is always exceptional here, being as it's associated with Zingermans so the staff are well trained, attentive and knowledgeable, and food comes out perfect. We will be going here as many times as we can squeeze in a trip over to A2.

Kind of a "fast food" vegan style rice/noodle spot next to Kim's - the sit down and from what I understand, white table cloth kind of restaurant. One of the warmer days in February and able to sit on patio to watch passer by. They bring food to you after ordering at front counter. Had tofu and noodles tha had lots of good flavor and was too much for me to eat all of it. My friend had noodles with rice. Also got seaweed appetizer with noodle and very tasty. Nice lunch spot with great food.

Outstanding! Love the food, the care and intention that goes into the food, the friendly service, and the whole dining experience at Miss Kim. Be aware that this is a nice, leisurely meal! And budget time accordingly :). My favorites and must gets: - Tteokbokki (street style is my favorite but I bet they're all great). The TEXTURE and flavor of this is the best. - Fried Chicken - Broccolini!! Not sure how they get these both so tender and soo crispy at the same time. The flavor combinations with the fish sauce and sweetness is phenomenal. I love that they do little banchan dishes too, complimentary. We got the crunchy spiced carrots and the radish kimchi today - yum. Everything I've tried here is great! Many unique alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages as well.

This was my second time here and it's kind of telling I had zero recollection of the first. Service was rough on a Wednesday night. A reservation was definitely necessary to be seated, so don't sleep on that! Somehow a couple got seated next to us a while after we arrived, ordered, were served their meal, finished and left all before we got our check. It was weird. Preferred customers or...? My partner's cocktail also sat on the bar and melted for a good 10+ minutes before being brought to our table. I almost just grabbed it on my way back from the bathroom. Food was all good but nothing really blew us away. The Korean fried chicken was pretty fire (get the chili glaze). I was excited to try the special miso butter rice but found it bland. The broccolini in caramel fish sauce was another favorite. Smashed potatoes cooked well and the seasoning is like crack. Tteokbokki was nicely soft and crispy on the outside, but the egg was kind of pointless because it just slid off and lingered on the plate. So, I doubt we'll be back for a third time, but we'd have a decent meal if so. I just don't understand the hype.

An absolute gem of a restaurant in Ann Arbor. The food is so tasteful and delicious. The staff is so friendly and kind. I love the coziness and vibe and always have the best time when I eat there!

An excellent dining experience. Would recommend making reservations, as the restaurant got busy. The tables are close together, but there was space to move around. I do think that it is a little more expensive than warranted, however the food was good quality. Standout food was the Korean fried chicken and the tteokbokki. I do wish that the kimchi was included with the meal as opposed to paying $5 for a small bowl of kimchi! The potatoes and cheese were good complements to the meal. Did not try any cocktails.

I really wanted to love this place lol To start we ordered broccolini with caramel fish sauce and it was very surprising. The smell of it comes off strongly of fish sauce but the sweetness of the caramel balances it out. Flavor comes in these packed waves as most of the sauce is concentrated in the head bushels which are soft and charred while the cashews and blanched stems give a bouncy crunch, really texturally pleasing. Then came the bibimbap, very standard but well done veggies and protein, but the gochujang sauce had more depth than most. The thing that stood out to me was the rice, typically in stone pot rice bowls that layer gets burnt with how hot it gets but in this one it was barely browned but still really crispy, I have a feeling they cooked the bottom layer on low heat first to dry it out without burning the rice? Nice touch. Lastly the korean fried chicken plate. The soy rice was subtly umami packed and the chicken had that sticky finger licking sauce and crunch you'd expect. My only real problem was that the pieces were so large that the middle of the chicken were pretty dry and unflavorful. Personally I would have preferred smaller chicken pieces or maybe if the chicken had been brined. Overall everything was seasoned perfectly and felt like a very healthy and delicious meal. As a side, the service was fantastic and the ambiance was great (though its a bit uncomfortable to squish in the reception area while we were waiting)

WOW! This spot is fantastic! We showed up with a party of four and a reservation on a Friday night, I'd highly recommend a reservation or I'm not sure you'll get in. We got drinks and a handful of dishes off the menu to split- I can't remember everything we got but nothing was a miss. You really can't go wrong, the flavor is phenomenal. We had two servers, both were kind and helpful. For how packed it was, the service was fairly quick. The interior has a great design to it, a little loud but considering every seat was full not too bad. Try this spot as soon as you can!

Just the best place for Korean food that I know in this area Carrot salad to start always amazing I usually get a kimchi ideally cabbage for fiber but the radish is good too The scallops were amazing with the butternut squash purée and hazelnuts Vegetarian tteokbokki stew outstanding with rice You cannot go wrong I always ask for a side of the gochujang sauce which everyone should do. It feels like required eating. 10/10 among my favorite places. I used to get great service but haven't liked my waitress recently. It's more about her vibe that I don't like but the rest of the wait staff is awesome. And ambiance is fun.

    Lucille F.

Modern Korean cuisine. Service can be spotty when they get busy (which is often). It can get noisy so not ideal for conversations.

    Galbi

I NEVER write reviews. If I could rate this place 0 stars I would. What do you mean I paid $20 for 9 pieces of rice cake. Extremely below average tteokbokki. Server told me the Galbi is a plate that's meant for sharing... LIES! $37 for ONE piece of short rib, again below average. Who are we supposed to share with exactly? Presentation was a 6 at best. Mind you I'm VERY easy to please. Would rather go elsewhere.

Absolutely phenomenal from start to finish! The name of the game with all food was CRISPYYYY! Came with group of 6 on a Saturday night w/ a reservation. We all got drinks, split some apps, and entrees. We split some smashed potatoes - soo good and crispy, I'd say you need 2 orders for a group over 4! And the fried cheese - WOW, these were dynamite! Extremely crispy batter. For drinks make sure to get the Makku rice beer - it was kinda sweet, never had anything like it. For dinner, we got a few Tteokbokki's, my favorite was the cacio e Pepe. The crispy rice with the cheese is DYNAMITE. My husband and I split the soy glaze fried chicken which was outstanding, great savory flavor and perfect crisp. Our friends got the spice blend which also looked great. Service was quick and we all had a great time. No one had leftovers and we are still talking about it! Make sure to check out some of Ann Arbor's best Korean food!!

    Jacob Y.

The menu has some intriguing options, and the tteokbokki was a highlight, but the rest fell a bit short. On the bright side, the iced cinnamon tea was fantastic.

My all-time favorite is the Valenciana, but I recently tried the American paella and it is a fantastic option for anyone with shellfish allergies, so delicious and satisfying. For tapas, my top three are the almendras y piña, the pinchos morunos, and the patatas bravas!! order all three, you won't regret it. And the octopus? Incredible. I would come back for that alone. On top of all the amazing food and drinks, the staff is incredibly warm and welcoming and the atmosphere is just as wonderful. I'm already planning my next visit for happy hour with my coworkers. I decided to check out the bar/lounge at the nearby Sheraton and have to say, no wonder Marriott decided to buy these guys! They have great beers on tap and great food. I had the sliders and the Santorini salad, which has fried artichokes on it. The sliders were great. Straight up beef patties on a brioche-like bun. No filler, slightly thin, but still tastes great and beefy. Just what I wanted. The Santorini salad is about twice as big as I thought it would be for $9. I really liked the greens which included butter, red, iceberg and romaine lettuces. It also had goat cheese, olives and fried artichoke hearts. Yum, but I couldn't finish it. Since I'm at the Res Inn I just took the rest with me. I also had the Blond ales on tap. Their big deal is supposed to be the wine selection, but the beer selection is very good. Perfect for slider night! Full, refreshed and ready for he long plane rides home tomorrow.

And it has little pieces of fresh mozzarella in it to add even more freshness! Their fried mozzarella is also quite good, clearly freshly made. It's definitely nothing fancy, and some of the booths and such had seen better days, but generally speaking it was a good experience. Now, they've got a full bar but lately my husband and I have been staying off the booze and we found they had a really nice selection of NA beverages. I had the strawberry mango sour and my husband went with the pineapple coconut colada. Tropical and fruity without the buzz! Now, my friends, IDK if I was just really hungry or I hadn't had a non-carryout/sorta soggy plate plate of nachos in a long time what but those nachos? They were so good! Crunchy, nice and salty, and staaaacked. I opted for the carnitas and they came loaded with a good portion of that with cheese, pico de gallo, black beans, queso, and sour cream. Traveling can be done on any budget, feel free to reach out if you want to learn more. Also love to hear from experienced travelers, love to learn of new places and things to do.
