Another visit here! The food is great enough that I keep coming back. This time, I got the popcorn chicken (soy garlic), which I am a big fan of! I do like this better than the boneless thighs. I feel like it is easier to eat, and I really enjoy the crispiness of it all. I recommend making your own side of rice to eat with the chicken! The chicken can be quite heavy by itself, so having the rice offsets it nicely. Buying a side of rice there is $2 which seems a lot for a small portion. The regular fries are decent, not as crispy as I'd like them to be. Kind of pricy for $4. I don't think I'd get it again. Overall, I know I will be back again in the future. If you are looking for good Korean fried chicken, this is the place.

I had the spicy pork cupbop and the honey nut pancake for lunch. The spicy pork cupbop is a bowl with really delicious spicy pork on top of three kinds of carbs: rice, noodles, and fries. Very tasty and a large portion. The Honey Nut Pancake was a sweet pancake stuffed with nuts and honey and drizzled with chocolate. It satisfies a sweet tooth without being too sweet. My order was ready quickly.

This is more of a 3.5 stars, but I think it has potential. First time for Korean wings and this one delivered on texture, crispy, check. Small order for $12. has six pieces. Half half-spicy and sweet. However, both were on the edge of too sweet for me. Spicy had the gochujang as a base and sesame oil. I also had the bulgogi tacos. Flavors were good but more beef to greens ratio would be a better bite. Located within a lobby with two restaurants. Better for takeout but it has two dining counters by the window.

My family and I ordered a bunch of food for delivery from Hola Seoul recently, and I loved it! They offer Korean fried chicken, bibimbap, dosirak boxes, shareables, and Korean bbq tacos. We tried the popcorn chicken, fried chicken thighs, beef bibimbap, deep fried dumplings, and the kimchi fries. Everything was packaged nicely and fresh. The fried chicken was super crispy and the sauces were delicious! We got the soy garlic and hot and spicy sauces. The hot and spicy didn't seem very spicy, but had good flavor. The soy garlic is a good choice and the kids liked it. I particularly enjoyed the popcorn chicken - with all the mentions in the Yelp reviews, I figured we couldn't go wrong ordering that. The bibimbap was nicely presented with veggies, egg, and sauce - the amount of meat was a little sparse but we had plenty of other food to share. My favorite item was definitely the kimchi fries - yum! Fries are topped with bacon, sausage, sautéed kimchi, cheddar, sour cream, and spicy mayo. The spicy mayo was a little spicy but I loved it. These were so tasty and I'd definitely order them again. Next time I'd get the popcorn chicken, kimchi fries, and probably a couple of tacos to share. If you like Korean fusion, this is a great spot to try.

Kimchi Fries & Korean Fried Chicken Burger (Soy Garlic)

Honestly one of the best places to get food from when visiting Ann Arbor for an affordable bite! Right by UofM, it's a popular lunch spot for students. You can usually find a few here studying while eating lunch. It's relatively quiet here and it's a small shop with a bit of seating but it's better as takeout. The korean chicken burger (soy garlic / spicy) was really tasty. Perfectly fried with a delicious coating of sauce. It was delicious bite after delicious bite. The buns were toasted as well. For $8, it was really worth. The kimchi fries were also crispy and hot. Kimchi was okay and the sausage/hotdog was also pretty good and flavorful. Cheese was half melted but it was fine, no cheese pulls expected. For $11, I don't think it's worth but to try it once, it was okay. It was good at least. The staff here are super friendly and that's always a great thing to experience.

Overall, a 3.5/5, but I'll bump it up to a 4 because the "Popcorn Chicken" with soy garlic was delicious. I haven't been here since the pandemic, but my friend wanted to get Hola Seoul take out for dinner. I probably should have looked on Yelp before ordering. This is what we thought about the food we ordered: * Popcorn Chicken with Soy Garlic: This was incredibly tasty and I loved the soy garlic glaze. It's sweet and flavorful! Even though we got take out, the chicken was still crispy and warm, so my friend and I really enjoyed this. We got the small for $12, but there was actually so much chicken! We are satisfied with this and would recommend it - seems like it's their most popular item on the menu! * Seasoned French Fries: These were soggy and terribly sad. They taste and shaped like the generic "frozen fries from the grocery store." Overall, not seasoned well. They were bearable after dousing it with a bunch of ketchup, but definitely a 2/5. * Bulgolgi Taco: The menu online said they came in corn tortillas, but these tortillas were definitely made of flour. I can see why this is a popular choice, but I thought the marinade on the meat was a bit too sweet for my taste. I probably wouldn't get it again. The slaw and sambal aioli were nice touches, but a taco for $3.50 is too much. * Spicy Pork Taco: I liked this one better because it's not overly sweet, but the meat was pretty unmemorable. I'd probably get it again if it wasn't $3.50. I'd come back to Hola Seoul again, but only for their "Popcorn Chicken". That was fantastic! My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed every crunch during every bite.

Placed an order for pick up on a Saturday around lunchtime. Small line for pickup, and they were packaging my food just as I arrived. Staff was very friendly. Food was great. Chicken is crispy - I love the soy garlic flavor. I got the small size ($12) and there was a good amount. Had some leftovers. Dukbokki is spicy, and the kimchi fries were yummy too! Would recommend.

I have had their their chicken BBQ box. The chicken wasn't bad. I always want to try their kimchi fries but it comes with bacon and sausage, two things I don't eat. If they offered up the kimchi fries without the pork, would really like to try that out, since I love kimchi adored on my food. I would eat the chicken again in a pinch, it's not bad.

Medium wings $17 for 12 pieces, half spicy, half soy garlic

Came back twice more for their wings (the current menu doesn't seem to have drumsticks anymore, at least not during the summer), and bulgogi box. Great portions and flavors and still loving the food. That soy garlic glaze is addicting. Still don't love that they don't pick up the phone, but online ordering has been pretty spot on and food ready within the allotted timeframe so I guess that does the job.

    Duk-Bok-Ki
    Amie N.

Food was pretty good, and pretty reasonably priced compared to other places in Ann Arbor I've visited so far. The small size for popcorn chicken was $12 and was decently sized. We got the soy garlic and hot & spicy flavored popcorn chicken, but we preferred the soy garlic because it seemed to be less sweet. We also got the duk-bok-ki (also around $12) and there were mixed reviews from our crowd. I thought it was pretty good, because the last duk-bok-ki I had was way too sweet and not that spicy. But my friends felt like this one wasn't sweet enough. Maybe I've just never had good duk-bok-ki, but I thought this one was alright. Overall, if you're looking for fast, Korean fusion food, Hola Seoul is the one to go to!

This shop is Korean owned and reminds me of my own hometown. The chicken is marinated really well and the kimchi fries are delicious! I must say that it's not quite as crispy as I would want it to be, but it definitely is one of the better Korean fried chicken places on campus.

    Honey Butter Chicken
    Anita L.

Delicious chicken! Tried the half and half popcorn chicken and the honey butter chicken. The honey butter chicken came out as popcorn chicken and a lot of honey butter powder. It was a good flavor and reminded me of honey butter chips (also also extra crispy since it wasn't a wet sauce!). Half and half is always great and tasted like classic hot and soy garlic from other places. We also ordered a spicy pork taco but like other reviews said, it was okay. A lot of lettuce, aioli, and the spicy pork was just okay).

    Kimchi Fries -- a must-order!
    Suzanne B.

Say Hola Seoul and you may just say hello to a new fusion favorite! Eager to try a new restaurant, a friend and I decided to check the place out for a recent weekend lunch. We met right when the doors opened at 12 and had our pick of what to eat and where to sit. Anticipating some other friends joining us, I ordered the kimchi fries and the fried dumplings to share. She went with the Bibimbap. We grabbed some seats and shortly afterwards our food arrived. The kimchi fries are a must-order item: crispy potatoes smothered in toppings and spicy kimchi make the perfect appetizer to share (or entree if you don't feel like sharing!) The dumplings were good, but I will probably try a different appetizer next time. My friend's Bibimbap looked delicious -- and huge! It's easily shareable with one other person. She ended up taking half of it home for a later meal, with the restaurant providing take-home boxes to facilitate. I'll look forward to my next visit to Hola Seoul, and to trying some new items then as well!

Not a whole lot they have a tofu taco not sure if vegan or vegetarian. Besides that kimchi and rice cakes that is about it.

I'm big on ordering enough for multiple meals so I went with the nachos and a kid's steak quesadilla and got 3 meals out of the deal! The kid's portion came with two mini quesadillas and a side of rice and they were definitely generous with the steak portions! They had hearty chunks of steak, perfectly cooked and seasoned, surrounded by a nice melty cheese. Really tasty! For my nachos I went with the carnitas though I think they may have accidentally given me the al pastor as I bit into more than a few chunks of pineapple, which honestly was not my favorite when blended with the other elements of the nachos. I'd definitely get them again but I think I'd pick a different protein just in case. Probably the steak since it was so good in the quesadillas. I went through less than half of the nachos since they were a huge portion and tucked away the rest in the fridge for the next day. Sure, nachos don't always reheat great but I tossed mine under the broiler to crisp everything back up and then added some fresh chips on the side and it was perfect. I still had a few leftovers even after that and took the rest of it and added an egg on top for a makeshift chilaquiles dish! Pretty good! My one regret was not trying the churros but I'll definitely be doing that the next time!

A small taco shop in a nondescript strip mall, Miny's is turning out some seriously impressive and authentic tacos on par with places I love in Southern California. My friends and I swung by around dinnertime and while it was not crowded, there was a steady flow of customers and take-out orders. There is no dining area, but there are tables outside where one can sit and eat. I ordered 3 tacos: al pastor, cabeza, and Cameron, with spicy salsas on the side. The total was about ~$13. The first thing that stood out to me was the size. These were some hefty tacos, lovingly double-wrapped in pliable, warm, corn tortillas and neatly packaged for takeout. Salsa can be hit or miss but the salsas here were SO GOOD. Made in-house, they add the perfect moisture and flavor to each bite. Their green salsa has a mild, tingling kick, and tastes very rich and refreshing. The orange creamy salsa, however, stole the show. It is spicier than the green, and has a super addicting smokiness that enhances, but doesn't overpower, every bite. I was bright red and sweating but could not put this salsa down. The al pastor taco was my favorite. Sweet, soft, smoky pork with the crunch and freshness of onions and cilantro, drenched in the above salsas, simply divine! I wish it had come with pineapple for a pop of sweetness, but it was still a super good taco. I was thrilled to see that Miny's offered cabeza and lengua, as they are cuts of meat less familiar to the average American diner. I opted for cabeza and was greeted with a pile of soft, collagen-rich meat, bursting with juice and oil. The meat by itself is definitely a bit bland so the salsas did the heavy lifting in terms of flavor. The gooey-soft texture though, that was all due to the perfectly cooked meat. This was a pricier taco than the Al pastor, and there was definitely a bit less meat than in the Al pastor, but still a very good taco. The shrimp taco impressed me the least. The shrimp were unseasoned and looked to be boiled. While bouncy and tender cooked in this way, I prefer the char and juiciness of grilled shrimp in my tacos. In addition, I tend to expect my seafood tacos to have a slaw on them, versus the standard onions and cilantro. With the salsas, this taco was fine, but I would not order it another time. A very healthy but uninspired taco. Overall, for where it's located and what it is, Miny's does some amazing tacos, though I will probably skip the seafood ones next time. I will be DREAMING of that orange salsa, and now understand why on their menu, they sell it by the carton.
