    Sundubu (beef)

Came here after a football game for dinner and had baby and toddler in tow as well. Very happy AA has some traditional Korean options compared to 5-8 years ago when we lived there, The servers were very friendly but for some reason wanted us to sit at a table that was connected to another party's table due to our stroller. The restaurant was fairly empty at this point so it wasn't because this was the only option... I tried explaining that we'd like to sit somewhere else but they didn't seem to understand so we just sat there hoping our kids wouldn't bother the other party! Aside from that - we were pleasantly surprised by dinner and how good the food was! Great flavor of the bulgogi, sundubu was decent but quite spicy. This was their combo meal and it was a generous amount of meat for a combo! Husband got the dol sot bibimbap and it was sizzling temperature hot! Banchan was very tasty, The servers were very kind to my kiddos and brought out a booster seat, plastic cup with lid for water. The bathrooms are single person and extremely spacious, clean, and the ladies room has a changing table. So other than the weird seating issue, very family friendly! I would go back if we lived in AA :)

Oh man where do I start. Incredible portions, wonderfully marinated beef, sublime 반찬, and the service was quick. I also was in awe of how low the prices were too. Each bite was juicy, tender and well cooked. I was surprised to see such great Korean food in Ann Arbor, this place deserves the hype and would be back.

I was finishing up a shift in Ann Arbor and wanted something to eat before heading back to Grand Rapids. Nate and I both found The Seoul on Yelp so we headed over. The space includes BBQ grill tables but we just went with entrees. We were seated right away and got our orders in. The menu includes a lot of interesting dishes that I don't see at many Korean places in GR. I had tried a cold buckwheat noodle dish while in Korea recently, and was excited to see a version of it on the menu at The Seoul. Nate got the bibim guksoo, a spicy noodle dish, and we also got an order of gim mari twigim, or deep fried mini seaweed rolls. I loved the banchan! They gave us kimchi, fish cake, broccoli, and potato salad. They were all delicious. The gim mari twigim was okay, but not the best I've had. Our dishes were delicious and huge portions - we definitely could have split one dish. The bibim nengmyun was brothier than I was expecting but still very good. I didn't love the very hard boiled egg, but the noodles were delicious and it wasn't super spicy. Nate's dish was very spicy! I'm glad we checked out The Seoul and would love to come back and try more dishes.

Amazing food especially for the specials. My partner and I love date night here, as $60 is a great deal for what we get. Going by myself for lunch I always get the $10 bibimbap special and it's delicious every time. Also such big portions, and such nice staff. What's not to love :)

Sunday lunchtime. Dining room was slow but service was fast. Bright and clean dining room with grill tables for BBQ. We ordered spicy rice cake, toonsuyuk pork and Kalbi. She started the grill table and brought the banchan, dipping sauce for BBQ, side salad, and pink pickled radish wraps for the meat. The plate of meat brought out was a healthy portion but Kalbi Sal (boneless) but still the quality and flavor was there. We enjoyed every bite. The fried pork in a sweet and sour sauce was fresh and delicious. The spicy rice cake is hot. Not for the weak. I ate too much and have leftovers for days. The bottom line was about $66. Very reasonable for the feast we enjoyed. Solid spot for good Korean food and service.

    BBQ. Combo for 2

This was amazing. Really good - all of it! Nice choices and excellent sides of a variety of Kimchi. We had the Combo for 2 and there was a large variety of delicious meats and nice fresh cuts- not the this frozen curls you sometimes see- this was very authentic. The place to go if you want real good quality Korean BBQ or other favorites.

We stopped by here to try their kimchi paella, asked for no pork, but it's already all mixed together. The pork is not listed on the menu. They were also out of their crabby mushroom today. Striking out badly today with this place and their menu items. :/ I am not understanding how the pork meat and seafood and rice are already premixed, the paella must not be freshly made then and is sitting in a warmer then? Ended up ordering the popcorn chicken with a spicy sauce and the tteokbokki, spicy. They are out of the crab and mushroom salad and there's no way to get their kimchi seafood paella without pork . $24.38 The popcorn chicken flavor isn't bad, spicy, but lots of breaded pieces with little to no meat. The tteokbokki sauce tastes good, nice and spicy as well. The rice cakes are nice and chewy. Ended up getting their tteokbokki, spicy and their popcorn chicken with spicy chicken. Service was good, just one waitress managing the place, but there's only 3 tables at the moment. The banchans: broccoli, mashed potatoes, pickled radish, fish cakes and kimchi. None of the banchans were my favorite.

Bim bim bop in a hot stone bowl

This place was very good. Chose to order from a menu ( think bim bop with option of 2$ upgrade for a hot stone bowl- worth it ) or bulgogi etc. We started with the seafood pancake ( excellent ) and veggie dumplings ( a miss - deep fried and not amazing ). My kid loved his bulgogi ( didn't love the choice of sides though- avoid the one made with spam- ew). We had the bim bim bop in the hot stone bowls which was solidly good. Service was friendly and attentive. We would have preferred to cook our own and do the Korean bbq but not every table had the stove to do that and the wait was too long to hang around for one to open up. Oh well - next time- I'll be back if in the area as it seems like that is the way to go here Fair prices.

The food is fine, nothing outstanding. I recommend coming here for the Friday lunch special; I would skip on getting any of the soups. The lunch specials, particularly the Friday one, is an absolute steal. It's 50% off most appetizers and the portions are HUGE. I've been here a couple of times, the soondobu and boodae jiggae are extremely underwhelming. Both taste bland and one note. The sides are good though. The service is hit or miss. Lunch service is good but you practically get 0 service for dinner and have to track down the servers.

The food was pretty good and you know it's legit when they bring out sides! It was overall a good experience, just the tables were dirty and it was hard to communicate it to the workers since most of them had a difficult time understanding English. Overall, a lot of good options and fresh food

The Seoul has authentic Korean staples like BBQ, Bibimbap, and Jajangmyun at reasonable prices. I've tried the Boodae Jigae, and the Dolsot Bibimbap served in a hot stone bowl. I highly recommend both. I love the sizzling sound of the Dolsot Bibimbap. It is so warm and comforting on a cold day. Same with any of the soups offered. There is another Korean restaurant down the road that is pricier and not nearly as good as The Seoul. It's one of the better Korean restaurants near the University of Michigan campus.

Came in on a Friday, which happened to be half off appetizer. $5 for this popcorn chicken is an absolute steal very addicting, good as any Korean fried chicken in terms of the batter. The ban Chan was solid really enjoyed the Kim chi would by it in bulk. My spicy pork was great love the purple sticky rice it was served with, great portion size. The bulgolgi stew had tofu, spice rice cakes, mung bean noodles, the beef bulgolgi and Napa. The broth had an aromatic sesame smell really enjoyable all n all will definitely come back. Looks like tomukun bbq has some solid competition.

My first time here, and I really liked it! The location has been two pizza places in the place, so I really hope it succeeds. There's plenty of Korean food to choose from, so there'll be something for everyone! The tables are great for groups of people, and the place is kept very clean which I appreciated. I got the bibimbop, and really loved it! It was delicious, very filling, and full of flavor. If you're not sure where to start, this may be a good starting point with familiar flavors and ingredients

Per my friend's request, the order did not come with the Shishito Peppers or Garlic Chives, but it also didn't have the potatoes.
