Drinks were amazing. Food was amazing. Only thing that would make it better would be getting a room and having more drinks!!

The Holbrooke Hotel has a pop up seasonal bar in their downstairs area and it's adorable! Tinsel Tavern is like stepping into an ice castle-it's magical! Serving cocktails and snacks. We had a peppermint ice cream, Chex mix and gingerbread cookies served with a hot buttered rum. It was so fun!

We went to the Holbrooke Hotel for a girls night and we had an amazing stay. Four of us lifelong friends in our early 50's. The room was clean and beautiful and we enjoyed the outdoor balcony. We had dinner there and the appetizers and entrees were all so delicious. We had a drink at the bar and also went down to the Speak Easy in the basement and enjoyed a drink there as well. The firepit on the back patio was a nice touch. We enjoyed the free coffee, scones and Frittata in the morning, as well. The lobby and interior of the hotel is stunningly beautiful, and the hotel is walking distance to Mill Street and the all of the wonderful shops and restaurants there. We had a great time!

The Historic Holbrooke Hotel is NOT a 3.6 rating!! This place is a 4.5 without a question. Staff is professional, young and helpful. We celebrated my sisters bday here! And this beautiful Place gets loud, which is a good thing!! Food is great! Tinsel Tavern was sooo cool!! Service could have been just a tad more attentive. But, ya know... some nights are like that. The spinach/Artichoke Dip and bread was a 10!! Best I'd ever had! And I've had ALOT! Place was clean, FUN and super cool!! Like a Winter Wonderland!! Take your girlfriends for sure!!!! I did notice A lot of women in big girl groups. Make sure to make a reservation, and then.... Enjoy!!!!

The Holbrooke Hotel has a pop-up holiday bar located downstairs. The Holbrooke hotel decorates the bar downstairs in a different theme each year. This year's decorations were out of this world. Tinsel's Tavern is decorated to the nines. The bar offers signature craft cocktails serviced in holiday glasses and snacks. The speakeasy is a must if you are in Grass Valley. You will need to make a reservation to ensure your seat. The bar is open right before Thanksgiving to a little after New Years.

Had a really nice meal at the Holbrook Hotel Restaurant. The Brussels sprouts were cooked perfectly -- crispy on the outside, tender inside, and full of flavor. I also tried a quesadilla, and it was so tasty and satisfying. The atmosphere is charming with that cozy historic feel, and the staff was kind and attentive without hovering. It's a great spot to relax, have a good meal, and enjoy the small-town charm. I'll definitely be coming back to try more of the menu.

This beautiful, historical hotel was a delight to stay in. The clawfoot tub to soak in, balcony overlooking Main St, the attentive pleasant staff, historic bar, restaurant, and the most comfortable bed ever. I would stay here again. Loved it. No TV was a great option as it lent to the historical charm.

I would like to start with the parking. Almost impossible. The lot was full upon arrival (I'm assuming due to the holiday). Parking is shared with the hotel, bar and restaurant. We had to wait quite a bit to park. From the parking we "Guessed" we should walk through the back door through the dining area to the tiny front desk. We were given our key and then went back through the dining room and parking lot to the carriage house. The room was sparsely decorated and cold upon arrival. The bed was super comfy. The sink in the room was a bit strange but the clawfoot tub was cute. Unfortunately when I went to take a shower the next day the tub felt like I was going to fall through (I weigh 100 lbs) Now back to the arrival. We called the front desk to find out how to turn up the heat and had to leave a message. Sometime during the late evening the room heated up (Not sure how this happened we didn't have a thermostat and never heard back from the front desk). It was a bit challenging changing clothes in the cold. The walls are extremely thin. The hotel does offer to give you earplugs and if your light sleeper, I suggest you take them up on this offer or bring your own. The walls are very, very, very thin. You can hear guests conversations throughout the hallway and all the way out the door. Noise from the street is also pretty prevalent. I had read the reviews and anticipated this so I brought headphones that were noise canceling to help me fall asleep and drown out the noise in the hallway. Now to The dinner: We arrived 15 minutes early and were told we could have a seat in the bar to wait for our reservation. We ordered a drink from the bartender (and that's a whole Nother story) and received a very tasty drink. However, the bar top was sticky and dirty. I couldn't touch the bar top without getting syrupy hands. I watched the bartender several times use a cleaning rag to wipe off glasses she was serving drinks in (she had overfilled almost every drink). Luckily about this time we were seated for dinner (I did not finish my drink). To my dismay, we seated in the bar area at a table that was empty when we arrived, (It was directly behind were we were sitting at the bar) and I'm not sure why we had to wait to be seated due to the fact that there was a reserved sign on the table. The bar was loud, noisy and the overcrowded (SRO by this time). I did not enjoy having to sit in the bar for my holiday dinner. Had I known we would be seated in the bar I wouldn't have made the reservation. Perhaps in the future this can be noted ahead of time so request can be made for the dining room or canceled. Our dinner consisted of a four course meal. We started with the super green salad, which was delicious. It was dressed with a creamy green goddess dressing salad consisted of sliced beets, greens and croutons. Perfect. Next onto the risotto also delicious however, I was full from the bread and the salad before dinner so I couldn't finish the whole meal. Lastly, we had the chocolate torte. It was topped with a black berry sauce. It was perfect size and delicious. I only had a few bites because I was full. I have absolutely no complaints about the food or service. It was simply amazing. The hotel is located right in the middle of town. You can walk everywhere (which I suggest you do because parking is horrible). If you can find parking at the hotel, keep your car there and walk. Take advantage of the local coffee shops and eateries. We did and were not disappointed.

Came in this afternoon to enjoy a cocktail and wind down after a busy day. Visited May 7th..see receipt. This is a beautiful remodeled hotel with nice indoor and outdoor dining (dogs ok in outdoor dining area). It is located in the heart of downtown Grass Valley with plenty of shops and restaurants to walk to. It has a long history in Grass Valley and they used to do ghost tours around the holidays (not sure if they still do it). The bar is beautiful and the lobby and indoor dining is very inviting. It's classy but still casual. I had a glass of wine and my friend had an old fashioned. See the video..they make it special! The drinks are a bit pricey but the ambience makes up for it. They also serve lunch and dinner with an eclectic menu. They used to have a smoker which made the best chicken wings..and would smell so good on the outside dining patio (bring it back!). Its a great place to hang out with friends! Check out the elevator..its a classic! Parking available behind the restaurant. Great place to bring friends or family!

She collaborated with our vendors promptly and effectively. She was candid about her expectations and humored our silliest asks! I have waited 16 years to finally get married and was given the green light from my fiance to have the wedding of my dreams. I searched forest wedding and Twenty Mile House was the very first one that came up. I loved that it wasn't too far of a drive away, the all inclusive packages and the accomodation option to stay on site for me and 53 of our guests. We had compared prices to similar venues but found it ridiculous that for the same price, we would only have the venue, tables and chairs at the other places. So with that, Twenty Mile House became the winner. We absolutely loved the vintage cozy look of the homes, the miles and miles of forestation leading up to and within the venue, and the most amazing staff i have ever experienced with. Both Rachel and Ashliegh were absolutely amazing! They both listened and made all of my requests come true. Some had to be compromised, but it didn't change much of my vision. Our bartender Jasper was absolutely amazing and so kind. The lights, the vibe, the music, all of the vendors... they all worked together like a well oiled machine and made every wedding planning moment up to the wedding day absolutely perfect. I'm a chill bride and solely trusted the vendors and Ashliegh on their skills and talent. I'd be lying if I wasn't nervous at times, but said yes when they said "trust us". They absolutely delivered! The cake was exactly how I'd envisioned it and was so delicious, the food was a huge hit for my husband and I and our guests (I wanted to takr home the meatballs and freeze them), the DJ was perfection, the florals were immaculate (more than what i had expected), and the photographer Rachelle was sooo kind and made our little awkward selves so comfortable. We had hired a non preferred videographer for our day but both Rachelle and Ashliegh worked well with them. Thank you Twenty Mile House for making our dream wedding a reality! We will definitely come back one day and rent one of your homes as an Air Bnb, just so we can relive a little piece of our wedding. Thank you, thank you, a million times thank you!

There was no reason for these people to keep 5k with as much notice as they had The ultimate bait and switch. Our experience began with pulling up to our appointment time to about 15 other people in 3 different groups standing outside in the rain. We approached and they informed us that we could go take a look around the property, (unguided, uninformed, and in the rain). When we returned to the front about ten minutes later everyone was gone and there was a person outside that informed us that we could take our shoes off and go inside the guest house with the ~15 other people that were there. We walked around by ourselves for about 20 minutes until we were finally approached by someone. At that point it was time to go to the "something borrowed barn". By the name you would assume what this is. No. It is a warehouse painted red to match the rest of the property. When they let you in the door you are actually entering about a 200sqft room with the 15 other people touring the property at the same appt time and are all expected to share ONE (1) mock decoration table in which you may choose decorations they have in two cabinets in the room for your wedding day. Upon further questions the linens on the table and displayed in the room you may choose all other decor from are only available for rental. I wish this was the worst of it. However, I had a neighbor in the next room who got up at 5am and was heavy footed and had a dog. The noise they made traveled into my room. They woke me up and kept me awake way before I planned to get up. Noise level depends on who ends up next to you. Luckily they were not there for my entire stay. After we had settled in, we were able to inspect the cottage and it was ideal for two people. Everything was exceptionally clean. The kitchen had utensils, dinnerware, and cookware. The bathroom was also in good condition. The only inconvenience encountered was from my husband (as he is a tall individual) that the toilet area was slightly cramped. We were told that our rooms bed was just upgraded to a king size. Let me tell you, that bed was big and ridiculously comfortable. We both slept so good, we couldn't stop talking about how comfortable it was. As we left for dinner the ambiance of the place was truly enchanting. The beautiful lights created a magical environment, and the canopy with the projector added to the inviting atmosphere. He had kindly opened some wine for us, and we helped ourselves to it upon our return. Tony asked us before he left, what we would like for breakfast. I opted for toasted bagel w/ cream cheese & honey yogurt. My husband asked for avocado toast with fresh fruit. The next morning, he delivered our breakfast to our room. To say we were shocked at how good and fresh everything was, would be an understatement. We certainly plan to visit again in the future. Thank you, Tony, for your wonderful hospitality.
