The same advice I gave Pour You Coffee down the street: - please have more seating: Coffee shops should be a place to gather and sit with friends over a cup of coffee. If I'm paying $8 for a drink, I'd like to also enjoy the environment for a while. If you can add some tables to the benches, or even outside seating on the sidewalk? Anything so that it can be a gathering place and not just a quick pickup station. - please get "for here" cups/glasses: This one is huge. Again, if I'm paying that much for a drink, it makes a huge difference in the experience if it's presented in a ceramic mug or glass cup. It doesn't have to be anything fancy or expensive, just simple sustainable dishes can make the experience feel 10x more memorable and worth the cost. It also makes social media pictures look even better which attracts more customers. -include your city on any merch: This is just my own personal preference. If and when you make branded merch, please include the city, West Covina, CA, somewhere in the design. It would be amazing if you hired a local West Co resident artist to make your design but now I'm just dreaming. My husband and I patiently waited for Hold Coffee to open and it was worth the wait! I had the Hold Cream and it was great! The quality is good and flavor is on point. The scones were a pleasant surprise. I got the blueberry and was blown away by the texture and taste. It is soft on the inside with the most delightful crisp on the outside. It is literal perfection and I've been thinking about it ever since. Unfortunately, they are not open on the weekends (for now) so I haven't been able to return for my fix! I cannot wait for them to be open on the weekends, hopefully soon because Hold will definitely be my go to coffee shop when that happens. Also, the space is gorgeous! I love the subtle blue theme that they have going, from the cup sleeves to marble countertops. So beautiful! Can't wait to go back. 100% recommend. read more

Visiting this place was like a breath of fresh air. I always get SO EXCITED to check out a new coffee shop, and I am thrilled that it's in this area! The ambiance is very gorgeous. I love the red bench, the vase of flowers, the little prints here and there. I LOVE that they have housemade scones!!!!! Scones are the best ever treat and the fact that they offer so many different flavors and make it themselves?! A+ automatically. I got the corn scone, and it was perfect in every way. Texture was perfect, flavor was perfect, all around perfection! I got an iced latte, and they seem to use the same coffee beans that Nook Coffee Bar uses, Jetty Coffee Roasters. They also have coffee beans, matcha, matcha whisks, and Baggu bags for sale. Service was great, and they welcomed every single person who walked in, even when they were super busy which speaks to the level of intentionality of the staff! I will be back. This new spot is so cute! I did a quick visit with my baby in tow and though it was busy, they didn't take long with drinks and food. I ordered a iced coconut matcha and a ham & cheese scone. Coconut matcha: 10000/5 The ham & cheese scone: 5/5 I truly wish other coffee shops had coconut matcha the way that Hold Coffee does it. Other businesses do coconut water and matcha like a tonic, but Hold uses a light coconut syrup in a matcha latte. Not too sweet and doesn't give the artificial coconut taste. Because I have a nut allergy to most types, I did not try any of the baked goods in case of a risk of cross contamination. I do give it to management as they're very clear on noting that the business does in fact work with products with nuts. Anywho, I did order the scone for my husband and despite it being his first savory scone ever, he loved it. read more

Very clean inside. It's got some seating against the wall and window. It feels crowded on there quickly as there isn't a clear designation for the line. They need to add some lines on the ground or some posts to guide the line. I ordered the Hold latte, half sweet, easy ice, w/ oat milk. It's not strong coffee, but it tasted good. What I was really wowed w/ was the scone. I tried the matcha black sesame scone. It was so good. I will be going back just to try a different flavor scone (they have multiple options). I'll also try a different latte next time I go back. I do hope they improve the strength of the coffee and coffee flavor in the drink. Otherwise, it's a nice drink. read more

Absolutely loved this new coffee shop! We tried the cold cream and house cold brew with praline cream on top along with the ham & jalapeño scone, and everything was SO good. I've tried many coffee shops in the area and this is by far the best one yet. Everything on the menu looks and sounds amazing -- I can't wait to come back and try more. The shop itself is very nice and clean, with plenty of parking. Just a FYI: there are no public restrooms, so it's more of a quick grab-and-go coffee spot rather than a place to hang out for hours. This place is so cute, there's not much places in West Covina/Covina area but this place is gonna be my next go-to since it's so close to me. They're very kind and they ask to let them know if we need adjustments. Really good first impression and the place is really cute. The matcha is automatically sweetened with agave which is great and i think the matcha milk ratio is balanced. If you have a sweet tooth maybe get more sweetener or a syrup. I can't speak for their coffees, i'll have to try next time. read more

I happen to pass by the newly open cafe called HOLD COFFEE. Omgeee exceeded my expectations! It's a small, cute hole in the wall cafe next to a dental office and can get missed easily when driving by. I stopped by to try it and all I can say is YUM! There matcha latte was amazingly good I was shook because it's hard to find a matcha that taste like matcha and not overwhelming sweet. It's was perfect!! I also decided to try a pastry that look homemade called "corn" I love cornbread and wanted to see how this would taste like. AGAIN exceeded my expectations! The right amount of sweetness with a dash of jam on top. This is my second time visiting Hold Coffee in Covina and I have to give it a five star review. The lions can get along for a reason. The first time I came I tried a regular iced Matcha latte, and it was amazing the second time coming and trying their Biscotti latte was also amazing. I was afraid both drinks would be too sweet, but they were literally perfect in sweetness. My sister gets the strawberry matcha every time and is always blown away. You get an instant hit of strawberry, and it doesn't taste artificial like many other places. Their matcha is ceremonial and they sell it at their store as well! The biscoff latte was something new I wanted to try and tasted like cocoa pebbles!
