Met some friends at the Hold in the Wall BBQ. It was their pick so we went to meet them. I don't care for smoky food and some BBQ places have everything smoked. Luckily, this place has a few choices for the non-Q lovers. The others had the brisket, pulled pork slider and a combo of ribs and brisket. I had chicken strips and mac & cheese. Everyone said their food was really good and the chicken strips were great and the mac & cheese was good. Service was good at first but then they vanished and I had to find someone to help find our server to get water. They were kind enough to not rush us when we were chatting. Ambiance was perfect for a barbecue place.

Food was good and the food was delicious and the people were nice and friendly and they were all kind and polite so we had a good meal

We came here about 5pm on a Saturday as a group of six and were seated right away. We have been here many times. Both when we lived in the Springfield area and also when we come back to visit. When we lived in Reno, Nevada they often traveled to compete in the annual Rib Cook Off in Reno. We were brought menus and had our drink orders taken by Anilese. She informed us of their 30 year anniversary special featuring a whole rack of ribs, two sides and a corn muffin for $30.00. We decided to order a few appetizers including onion rings and sweet potato fries. We had two members of our family who chose the anniversary special while others ordered brisket, offered in either juicy or lean and I had a burger. Anilese was very attentive and checked on us often. When our food arrived it all looked delicious and the portions were large. We enjoyed our meals and we left stuffed. Another great experience!

If you want a delicious lunch, then this is the spot for you. I got the Smokehouse Club with onion rings, and IT IS MASSIVE! I love that they grill the sourdough bread for that extra special flavor. He got the Cowboy Burger with fries, and the patty was perfectly smoked. Don't forget to ask for their housemade ranch - it's got smoke and spice flavors added. The waitstaff were all very friendly and welcoming. They checked in on us regularly and promptly brought items to the table. The food took a little longer than expected, but it was a busy Friday at lunchtime, and they had an event going on, so it's understandable. The restaurant is well kept and clean. It has a fairly large parking area, shared with another restaurant. It's not typically as full as it was on this visit, but, again, there was an event. We will definitely continue to stop in for lunch regularly.

Not sure why this is only 3 stars. The brisket is very good having that deep smoky flavor that demonstrates slow and low cooked tender and juicy brisket. I like it very much. Kickers (sides) go well with any of the bbq items. From chicken, sausage, ribs and brisket. Service is friendly and attentive. I recommend this hole in the wall.

Over priced. Portion size is a scam. Service is slow. I've tried multiple times and this is the last.

We'll come back to the carrot cake in a minute. We were in for a culinary delight and hopefully so will you. We ordered an antipasto appetizer that had a variety of tasty morsels with a loving presentation-heart carafes held both olives, mozzarella spheres. Next served was a warm artisan loaf that was accompanied by a garlic, olive oil, and roasted red pepper infused dipping sauce. Yum! We shared a goat cheese, ginger coated spinach beet salad, both healthy and delicious. Our entrees were timed perfectly as our server took such excellent care of us, paired with the charming ambience and local art-our date night was transported beyond the confines of a Dari mart parking lot. The scallops were plated similar to a five star restaurant and with the flavors to match. The namesake dish had a unique mild, spicy Italian sauce twist that had us wishing for another loaf to sop it up; a spoon sufficed. Back to the carrot cake-made in house by the owner-a double decker delight with a macron frosting-best carrot cake I've ever had and let me remind you how we chose this restaurant. I've been around the block with multiple carrot cakes. To add to our seemingly never ending meal, we would have preferred they lock us in and eat for a living there, we ordered the dark chocolate mousse. Our camera did not stand a chance in capturing the dessert in all its splendor...we included a photo of the empty results. Finally, for the excellent service, amazing food, warm ambience and creative cooking...we thought when the bill came that we'd be living on spaghetti a sauce for the next month. However, we stared dumbfounded at the bill-surely the sever forgot to input something...she did apologize that she forgot to add the two $10 desserts. I've included a picture of the bill, Nowadays, that total gets me some drinks and a couple appetizers. I will be driving the nearly three hours to dine again, even if I forced to get takeout. This place is special! And would worthy of your special events too. Mangia! Oh...one more thing, the amazingly fragrant aroma of yumminess as I opened the door to enter and as I sat down at our table was pleasantly unforgettable. I hope to see you there! Enjoy.

It was a full house by the end but there were only a couple tables ahead of us. The waitress checked in on us very rarely, but it was a full house and she was the lone waitress. Not sure if she was good and busy or inexperienced and not so busy. I got the cioppino expecting a seafood soup. They brought me stuff as if it were a crab boil. And there was crab. It reminds me of those places where they put sliders on bloody marries. It's a lot. I leave it to you if that's a good or bad thing. But if you get it prepare to eat with your hands.

One bag had my name on it, the other had someone else's name on it. This could have been the fault of the driver or the restaurant, both should have been more vigilant. I ordered a 2-meat plate for myself with mac and cheese and onion rings as the side. My partner got the BBQ chicken sandwich with truffle fries and two pieces of Texas toast. Only my food arrived, split across two bags (one of which didn't even have my name on it). My partner's food was completely missing and in its place were sweet potato fries. He had to order something else and wait for it to come. The sweet potato fries were cold and mushy and didn't have much flavor. My plate was packed in the bag vertically so that all of the grease was leaking out into the bag while it was en route. This meant that the entire container, inside and out, was absolutely covered in grease. I could not touch any part of my meal without getting covered in a thick layer of grease. You might think with all that mess that there wouldn't be any grease left for the food, but you'd be wrong! All of my food was very greasy. The mac and cheese was cold and congealed, like it had been sitting all day. The chicken was alright, but greasy. The brisket was shredded (who shreds brisket????) and VERY greasy. The Texas toast was the greasiest of them all. Every bite I took had a significant amount of grease squishing out into my mouth. It was truly foul. The onion rings were also greasy but that is a bit more forgivable since they are fried. I was really looking forward to a nice BBQ dinner at home after a long, tiring day. Alas, I'm left with a greasy life and a headache. Unless you want health issues from all the grease, skip this place and try a different local BBQ joint.

Our server, Jay, greeted us and our daughter with a smile. He also brought us extras of our drinks, sauces, rolls & honey butter. He considered and anticipated our every need as first timers to Texas Roadhouse. Which we will definitely come back to. For lunch I tried the half rack of bbq ribs with green beans and steak fries. Now, I like my fries crispy but I did not convey that so that's on me but flavor and portion were on point. The green beans are somewhat reminiscent of the South and the ribs are the most tender rack I have ever had at a restaurant. My husband ordered the mushroom chicken sandwich. He did not get around to trying it because he filled up on hot rolls and honey butter. For appetizers we tried the fried pickles which were better than most places due to the nice thin batter. The cactus blossom (fried onion) was a highlight as we've been searching for one better than Outback Steakhouse and without shellfish contamination. Crispy, consistent batter, and just the right amount of flavor for the Cactus blossom. Overall we are completely full, satisfied with our meal, happy to have Jay as our server today, and look forward to returning sometime.
