Love the natural lights, love the tall windows and ceilings and love the modern decorations and hanging plants! We got the salmon toast and eggs Benedict and cocktails. The cocktails look pretty and taste good! Love that the restaurant is by the water. Came here on a weekday, there was no wait fortunately and we were able to be seated rather quickly. The presentation of the food and drinks were on point! Staff is friendly. One of my favourite hole in the wall!

LOVE this spot! Super friendly staff, convenient location just steps away from the ferry and delicious food and drinks. Bright, airy and cozy atmosphere, which I appreciated. They also have a happy hour from 4-6PM (M-F). We got the truffle fries along with their house wines for happy hour and then I got the burrata salad, while my friend got the caesar. Everything was fresh and presented beautifully. The best part is that you can pay at the table by scanning a QR code, so no need to wait to pay the bill if you are running late to take the ferry. Will definitely be back!

This was my very first stop after moving to the city! So happy we stumbled across this spot because I'm sure this is somewhere we will visit often. We went for breakfast, and two of us had the "Jordy Shore". I normally don't prefer lox, but I would absolutely get this one again. It was incredible. The pulled pork Benedict was also delicious and a large portion that you can easily split for two people. There was a lot of construction outside, so the ambiance wasn't out of this world, but I would go back for the food and quick service!

Criminal that this place isn't rated higher, I feel like the food consistently hits. The Thai tomato soup is PERFECT for winter, but what really blew me away was the specialty burger (I can't remember the name but I hope it makes the permanent menu it was phenomenal). Nice atmosphere, great service. And it's on inkind! I would also recommend their coffee beans, I got some for my espresso machine and it has been a real upgrade to my morning coffee

Had a great Saturday brunch at Hole in the Wall in Murray Hill, one of their several NYC locations (also in FiDi, Flatiron, Williamsburg). The vibe is bright and welcoming, with a menu that's creative without trying too hard. We chose to sit outside because the AC inside was very strong, but the outdoor setup was comfortable, and had plenty of space for a relaxing meal. I ordered the granola bowl with greek yogurt, toasted granola, seasonal berries, passionfruit purée, meringue, and freeze-dried raspberries. It was fresh, vibrant, and just the right amount of sweet. I also had a strawberry lemonade matcha, which was a fun and refreshing twist on my usual matcha latte. I asked the waitress her recommendation and this is what she said she likes to do. My date got the avocado toast, served on sourdough with smashed avocado, watermelon radish, pickled onions, tajin-roasted sunflower seeds, herbs, and lemon. He has a dairy allergy, so they left off the marinated feta and added a poached egg instead. The kitchen was super accommodating and he loved it. The only downside: the QR code system for payment adds an extra fee. It's convenient, but we opted to pay via Apple Pay to avoid the charge... just something to keep in mind. Whether you're stopping by for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a few cocktails, Hole in the Wall is a solid spot for quality food and good vibes. We'll definitely be back.

Dining at hole in the wall felt like sitting in a garden room, very cute and they also sell bags of unique coffee grounds. Their drink menu has very funky names that made us laugh, but they were also very tasty. The food was delicious, the truffle fries are to die for paired with the green dipping sauce, oh my! We also got their seasonal Nutella banana bread dessert to share and left super satisfied, but a little sad we couldn't order another haha please make this a year round addition to the menu!

Our waitress came to take drinks, which admittedly took some time despite the place not being too busy, and food. Not once ever did she check up on us to see how things were, if we needed anything, etc. We were lacking utensils and cups and ended up having to take them from other empty tables since no one came to us. We saw her engaging with other tables but for whatever reason never came back to us. I will say though, when we did interact to place orders, she was attentive and friendly. The restaurant itself is nice. Its vibe is somewhere between restaurant and cafe but not fully committing to either. I booked over the phone for a group of 7+ which it seemed the hostess was hesitant to book since resy told me I could book for more than 8. If you're gonna go, I'd suggest two tables and split evenly

Decided to kill some time at this place while waiting for our ferry to go back to New Jersey. This cute bar is located across the street from the ferry terminal. We were able to sit at the bar and having such a delicious espresso martini. The bartenders were all friendly and attentive. It's such a fun place!

Surprisingly good! I'd passed this restaurant a bunch in cabs on my way downtown, assuming it would be mediocre. Couldn't have been more off! My husband, son and I stopped in for a quick drink and fries to kill some time. I got an iced chai latte and it was so good. My husband got the Australian coffee (?). He loved it. The fries were so unusual, but delicious! They were very well seasoned and I think they added a bit of lemon juice to them as well. Impossible to stop eating! The service was super friendly and accommodating of our baby in his stroller. Ambiance is so pretty on top of everything else!

$19 (pre tax/tip) for a small caesar with no chicken is hard to justify when there's a sweetgreen across the street. Great flavors though, just with there was more.

HITW Breakfast Burrito

Very busy on a Sunday but they were still able to squeeze us in if we agreed to an hour of dining time to accommodate an upcoming reservation. We did not mind and were pleasantly surprised at how quickly the food came out. I think the breakfast burrito was one of the best I've ever had. Great sauces on there. The kids loved the waffles too. I think my only gripe was service was a bit spotty but I could tell our server was flustered with how busy he was. Also my sisters coffee with oat milk went untouched because I think the milk may have been old or starting to spoil. Very nice atmosphere with great food though, I would definitely return

You definitely need to come here. The ambience is bright and industrial. The pulled pork eggs Benedict is so good. Our server was a nice guy. Personable. The coffee is good...not great in my opinion. I had a flat white and the espresso just didn't punch like I was hoping it would. It was cold by the time it got to me anyways. But still overall, great place!

Very happy with my latte. They come in a glass glass. Kind service. On a Tuesday morning the place was kinda empty and they don't open until 9. We were at the hospital and it was a quick less than min walk along the water. Bring a jacket if it's later than Oct 1. The guys got plates and were very happy. I got a croissant with a side of l eggs and a hash brown. The croissant was a laminated and beautifully baked pastry. The place is spacious. Beautiful view of the water.

Ask the Community - Hole In The Wall

Is this a place where I can do some work on my laptop while I enjoy my coffee/breakfast?

I have worked from there a couple times! I would suggest going in the morning and leaving around 12pm as it gets pretty crowded/noisy.

What time does the bar open? Can I get my Bloody Mary with Breakfast?

They open at 9:00am and the full bar is available straight away

How are the wait times on a Sunday for brunch?

It really depends on what time you go, and what is your group size. If you are a large party, you can call ahead and ask them to prep for your arrivals.

Is there covered and heated outdoor seating?

No there is no outdoor seating with heat and the restaurant offers dinner yet closes at 8pm so be careful if you want dinner at a normal time

Is there wifi?

Yes we do have Wifi. Any staff member can help you with that.

Is it the same menu as the FiDi location?

Very similar - there is actually a couple more items on this menu due to the larger kitchen.

The figs one came with a sweet fig granola bite and the lemon one really did taste sweet after eating the "Miracle Berry"! I'd definitely come back to try their many other drinks.

Servers seemed a bit annoyed to have to deal with us shortly before close as I think they were hoping to usher people out and close down maybe a little early. They're experimental, whimsical, delicious, and worth every penny. My absolute favorite is Child of Light, and my BF's was High Frequency Device. The interior was dimly lit, with a couple of candles per table or counter. It's a perfect place for a date night. And while there may be a wait on busier nights, it's always worth the wait. We were sat at the bar once and were very well taken care of by our bartender, Nikola. It was a Sunday night, so it wasn't terribly busy. We chatted up a storm and he was able to create some drinks off the menu just for fun (on request). He also made my BF and me a couple of drinks to celebrate our anniversary too. It was dark when we entered the coffee shop but an ajar door gave way to the bar. The decor is a homage to the works of Nikola Tesla, which can be seen in the subtle electric theme throughout the space and the naming of the cocktails. The space isn't too large - the bar and stools take up most of the space but they also have some booths/tables. The place looks great. The cocktail menu is very creative - I got one of their seasonal mixes that was actually two drinks in one. The main cocktail was meant to be sipped first and they provided a small glass of beer to be sipped after. The name escapes me but it was very good. Stepping into this place feels like you're in some secret, super special cocktail club. Decor is super high end, vibes are upscale AF. The cocktail menu is incredible -- and incredibly pricey, but truly worth it. I ordered the Valentino which was strong and sweet, really well made. We walked in without a reservation around 6:20 p.m., and they were able to accommodate us at a shared table until 7:15. The menu surprised me a bit. Since I associated the address with Eleven Madison Park, I wasn't expecting to see items like wings stuffed with sausage, which were done in partnership with Jungsik. We ordered those along with the mushroom burger and asked them to cut the burger in half for us. The cocktail menu was creative and a little intimidating, with unconventional ingredients like cream cheese and green curry. I went with a fruity Hendrick's-based drink, and my friend ordered the spicy green curry martini. Both were good. Mine didn't taste very strong, but it also wasn't overly sweet because there was enough bitterness to balance it out. The green curry martini was more adventurous but still worked. Service was mixed. There was a woman standing near us, so we tried ordering food with her, but she seemed hesitant to come over. Maybe she wasn't a server or was newer. For drinks, she brought over someone more seasoned, who quickly helped guide us based on our preferred taste profiles. Her suggestions were very good. The mushroom burger was the highlight for me. It was a little salty, but the crispy mushroom and soft bun were a great combination. I honestly wished I had more than half. The wings were okay. They were crispy on the outside and juicy inside, but coated in a Dorito-like powder that made them very messy.
