My husband and I used to live in Dallas and when we lived there had our favorite Indian restaurant where we would go once a week. So, when we moved here 2 years ago, we were saddened as there were no Indian food restaurants nearby. Then Holi opened up a few months ago and we gave it a shot. We were not disappointed. We now have holi Indian kitchen which is just as good as the Dallas Indian restaurant that we used to go to & we are back to getting our once a week fix. Lol! Fabulous, authentic Indian cuisine. Try the Tiki Marsala with lamb or chicken! The Butter Chicken is wonderful! The appetizers are a great sample of Indian spices and flavors. Overall the service was good, relatively quick, and friendly, but the food was only so-so. My family eats a lot of Indian food, so we know what to expect, but we invited some friends who were eating Indian food for the first time and asked for some dishes with 0 spice level for them. Unfortunately all of the dishes came out moderately spicy, maybe a 5 on a 1-10 scale, and some guests, including children could not eat anything. Even the Korma and Tikka Masala, were too spicy for them. And we assured them that these dishes were not traditionally spicy. Additionally, most of the dishes also needed additional salt. Only saving grace was that my family was able to take all the leftovers home, and with the addition of some salt, we were able to enjoy everything. I just wish our guests would have enjoyed the food as well. We will probably not return in the future. read more

The food was excellent. The Tikka Masala is a sweet curry served with rice and your choice of meat. My husband had the lamb shank which was very flavorful. The hot and sour soup was very tasty and does not taste like Chinese hot and sour soup. I would give it 10 stars if i could! My wife and I travel frequently and always try to stop somewhere with Indian cuisine to try new restaurants, so we are not new to the foods they offer. This was by far one of the best places we have eaten as far as it comes to Indian cuisine. The prices may look a little high, but it is a tourist destination and they are not out of line. Talk to Mercy, she was our server, and her service & attitude is a good as the food. We had eight folks and they seated us without a hitch and we all had different dishes. Lamb Biryani, Chicken Vindaloo, Chicken Tikka, Lamb Samosa, Veg Samosa, Veg Korma and Tikka Masala. They were all tremendous. You have to gauge spiciness by the dish; for instance, my #3 Biryani was almost as hot as the #5 Vindaloo. But everything is wonderfully spiced and flavorful. Everything else was pretty spicy at #3... nothing set your hair on fire or numbed your taste buds... truly, good food! Today was my first visit to Holi and I left very satisfied, with leftovers. My server was excellent (Jason) The menu had an interesting variety and it was easy to understand. The atmosphere was comfortable. The music was nice. The prices were very fair for the fine quality and amount of food. I went with the goat curry and it was presented beautifully. The meat was tender like the softest part of a pot roast. The curry sauce was perfectly balanced which made it great to dip with my naan which was also as tasty as it looked. When me and my family went we had a hard time figuring out what to eat but this time it wasn't because they didn't have good options it's because they had so many choices! We are vegetarian and my mom is gluten free and has a lot of diet restrictions but we still found multiple things to eat. Everything that we ordered was delicious and they even let us customize the spiciness of our food. All of the people were very nice and the service was amazing! If I had the option of giving a negative rating, I would have given that. Extremely unprofessional management that eavesdropped when I was talking to my family. And publicly humiliated me. I didn't want to create a scene and so didn't react. Made false claims about the so-called 'LAW' of the state. Made a racially sensitive comment 'How can you say so being an Indian yourself?' We ordered naan and once it was a little cold, it had turned into rubber sheets (almost impossible to bite). There are much better restaurants in the area with even better welcoming attitude. NOT worth the money, time and highly rude attitude of the management at Miramar Beach location. Stay away folks!!!!! To respond to the owner's claims, I don't think you have a current account of all the incidents that took place (not sure why I am not able to respond to her message). I never denied to pay the gratuity. And I never asked for the manager. When I saw the check, it was surprising to see gratuity added. We are one family with visiting parents and 1 kid. Never have we been asked for gratuity as it is just 1 family. I called the server to ask about the charge and she said she is calling the manager as she also doesn't know. To answer your 2nd question of the manager being polite, let me be a little rude over here - She lacked any iota of humility and politeness in her tone and attitude. Being manager doesn't mean that she is a queen and can dictate her terms on anyone. She had the audacity to stop processing the payment and told me "you HAVE to apologize ". Her exact words were "Didn't your child sit at the table? Didn't your child create a mess?" Is this politeness? Show me the pic that we created mess at the table. We have that basic sense of dining and she doesn't have any right to put false allegations on anyone. I could have created a scene there and blamed her for false accusations. When I asked about gratuity, your manager said 'this is the law here'. Then I said that this is open loot (in Hindi) which she misinterpreted and took personally as a thief. But they didn't charge any gratuity - how can law be so different for 2 restaurants in the same region? I had been patient in dealing with the quality of food and service. The food was way below standard, but that had been mentioned in the prior reviews also. The mango lassi had everything except the main ingredient - yogurt. The food was served all together, even though I had mentioned serving starter separately. The naan was like rubber sheets , but all that was expected given the reviews on Google and Yelp. The biggest disappointment was the attitude of the manager. When I gave her the credit card, she simply left it on the table and another person had to come to process the payment and end the discussion. So before giving me advice of how to behave myself in restaurants, focus on hiring the right manager and training them to deal with customers. She misinterpreted my Hindi statement without knowing about the context and nothing was aimed at her at all. Her arrogance and statements about "being Indian" and "mess created by kid" are highly rude. Just because I said sorry as I had to leave early doesn't mean she was right. Loved everything about this place! The food was the best Indian I have ever had -- so flavorful and delicious! The staff is absolutely phenomenal, too. I called for a birthday reservation on the same day and they were not only able to accommodate our party of 8, but went above and beyond to provide special dessert -- birthday cake, candles, and an assorted platter of traditional sweets. If I could give half star or ask them to shut it down, I would. We did carry out; food was dripping in layers of oil. The lentil soup we got was not healthy soup, it had layer of oil and it was just taken out of the cooler so still cold. Tasteless food. But we were desperate to find something Indian/Pakistani.
