    Covid "continental" breakfast
    Aidan K.

Everything seemed good until the morning. The beds are really comfortable which is really important, however, in the shower they have their body wash shampoo and conditioner in Bottles on the wall. I don't feel that is covid safe. They also only provided two towels for 4 people. They also have continental breakfast, but it was not a typical breakfast that you would thing you'd receive from a hotel . They provided a "to go" bag and only allowed coffee and tea for free. They expected you to buy juice or water from the store.

This was the closest hotel with my IHG points with availability for our trip to Salem. I have stayed at quite a few Holiday Inn's before. All the Express ones come with breakfast and even though they offer the same food I found some much better than others. The breakfast was ok, nothing special compared to the new Holiday Inn Express we had stayed in South Carolina. That was one of the best breakfasts I had for the chain. However I will give kudos to the staff for keeping up with the demand. Always saw someone either bringing out food and coffee and cleaning. The hotel itself could use a remodel but everything seemed to be in working order. Our room was typical, lighting was ok, beds and pillows were comfortable, HVAC unit worked well. I give 4 stars because the staff was very accommodating, polite and friendly. Upon arrival there were no carts so the gentleman behind the counter checked the surveillance cameras to see where there was a cart and retrieved it for us. Pretty cool! Didn't use much of the Hotel's amenities since we sere in Salem most of the time. It is on a main highway, 3 lanes on each side and a fence in the middle, so it didn't seem too safe or convenient to walk anywhere.

One of many towels completely soaked from flooded bathroom floor outside of shower

Friendly staff. We liked they had a wheelchair accessible room. However, we were disappointed to find that there was black mold in the "newly renovated room" we stayed in.. As well as very slippery conditions due to the poor design of the accessible shower. The bathroom was soaked with water for hours, so we had to put towels down which barely helped.. My fiancé has asthma so she shouldn't be breathing in mold in the picture shown. Aside from that, she just had hip surgery so it wasn't safe for her in terms of the slippery bathroom in the picture shown below. Last but not least, I booked the room with my card online. It said it wasn't going to be charged at all because we selected the "pay once you've arrived" option. And the separate card we used to book on site was charged and credited. Not sure why the original card was charged 100 bucks..

    Neat, clean breakfast buffet

We spent two nights here recently. It's located on a busy, loud road, and the entrance driveway is very short. The beds were comfortable, the room was clean and we didn't find it noisy inside. We had trouble adjusting the temperature, so a staff member came up and showed us what to do. We weren't crazy about the breakfast bar. It was neat and clean, but the food was bland. Important to know: If you want to take the shuttle to Logan, make a reservation at the front desk the night before. Shuttles mostly run on the hour.

Super bright light coming through window all night

Pros: friendly front desk agent (Bessie was awesome!), clean rooms, included airport shuttle Cons: Airport shuttle (first shuttle we took) did not have working a/c in the back (just the cab) so it was extremely stuffy and very stinky--the stink actually stuck to my shirt!! The second airport shuttle we took, which took us back to the airport the next morning, had what we believe was a gasoline smell (or similar) coming through the vents so bad it actually made me sick to my stomach. It's also SO LOUD that ear plugs actually come complimentary in the rooms. And boy did you really need to use them! The rooms are also SO BRIGHT all night, even with the "blackout" shade pulled shut. There is also a night light near the sink outside the bathroom that you can't shut off, so no matter which direction you were facing while sleeping, the light was in your eyes either way. In order to sort of fall asleep, both my husband and I I had to put shirts over our faces and wear ear plugs.

Staying there now on a 2-day trip to Boston. This has everything I'd want... cheap (I paid $166 for two nights including tax via Priceline.com), clean, wifi internet in the rooms, a small fitness center (bike, treadmills, etc.), and breakfast included (omelettes, waffles, fruit, yogurt, etc). Even had HBO. Staff are very friendly and helpful. It is a little out-of-the-way: about a 15 minute shuttle ride north from Logan airport, though they'll drop you off at the airport if you want to take the subway into town.

Booked this via third party for $163 a night. CMI is located on a very busy street (US-1N or something). The angle to see incoming traffic is difficult and I was terrified when exiting the plaza (cars go sooo fast here). Busy street so I don't recommend little kids staying here. Check-in was easy and pleasant but the room...Upon opening the door, you get smacked in the face by the smell of piss, body odor and unknown smelly substances -I'm being serious when I gagged. It was already 630pm by the time we came and too late to leave. Bed had yellow stains and smelled like it hadn't been washed well. Shower curtains reeked of piss. Fridge and tables hadn't been wipe down (fingerprints and smudge marks visible). I was so disgusted I couldn't even shower. Slept on the bed and woke up super itchy with small bumps. I am not exaggerating by saying this was the worst stay ever. My husband who is rarely grossed out refused to shower there as well. We left right away the next morning. I don't recommend this inn at all. Disgusting. Smelly. Unsanitary. It sounds harsh but the owners need to clean up and be on top of their business. Just writing this review makes me itchy.

We decided to come up for Valentine's Day - President's Day weekend. Did some sightseeing / got Seafood in Boston, I had a Doctor's appointment at MGH. We were going to head home but decided to stay another night and came cross this on Hotels.com. The room is clean and for 3 beds (there's a "2nd bedroom") plenty spacious for the price we paid. There's a fridge and a couple TVs. The owner/manager was welcoming and gave directions to the room. Probably will be our go to spot when we stay in the area.

So ty Mark, you listen a huge source of stress for me by resolving this issue. The most disgusting, dirty, scary, unfriendly, no customer service, cheap, horrifying place i've ever had the displeasure of visiting. No one at front desk to check in. Had to use an old style phone to call corporate so they could paige someone from the hotel location to come down and check us in. Guy comes down visibly annoyed he is being bothered. Doesn't say more than two words to me the entire time he's checking me in. Then he gives me a speech with my receipt about how if i lose or damage my key card i'll have to go through this whole process again (using the dinosaur phone to get someone to come down) to get another key. So i'm thinking they don't have anyone at the front desk normally. So i ask for an extra key, which he tells me only one key per ID (if hotel needs ID to check in that's usually a bad sign). I explain that my husband is outside parking, and he had an ID also. He just looked at me annoyed, i'm assuming cuz he doesn't want to wait for my husband, so i instead ask if i can do it tomorrow. He points at the sign on the plexiglass window which has the front desk hours on it. (a hotel has front desk hours? don't you need staff 24hours because guests are staying 24 hours?) so i'm like ok, will there be an actual person down here tomorrow to help me with that? He says ma'am it's after hours. you're checking in after hours, with an attitude. Do you want the ID or not. I'm like i wasnt even asking you to make one, i'm only asking if there will be someone down here tomorrow. He points at the sign again and slams the window closing down right in my face. super i go outside, tell my husband, we decide to we'll stay the night and deal with it tomorrow. We open our room door and are blasted in the face with the smell of stale ciggarettes and cheap perfume. There's a hole in the bathroom wall along with cigg ash/burn marks. There's something suspicious floating in the toilet as well so we aren't sure if the room has even been cleaned, or if they just remade the bed. We decide we'd rather sleep in the car than stay here, but since there's no one at the desk and ice just had the door slammed in my face, we wait until the next day to try and cancel the reservation. On the way down, another guest coming in stops us on our way out to ask us if we know where to get "any crack". We said sorry, we're not locals and left in a hurry. Ended up at the holiday inn across the street with no issues and friendly helpful staff. it has been 5 days ive been trying to call guest relations for a refund for the first night we didn't stay. I STILL haven't gotten an actual person on the phone or a reply to my email. Do NOT GO HERE. Save your money (145$ a night) and yourselves. Go anywhere else. This place is straight up the stuff of nightmares and almost ruined our vacation.
